Died suddenly on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the age of 83. Predeceased by his wife Mary. Beloved companion of Ermaline Taylor for 16 years. Loving father of Dan and his wife Carolle, Diane, and Dave and his wife Lorna. Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Greg, Jeremy, Lynn and Tim. Great-grandfather to Rebecca. At Azel's request there will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2003 at 1 p.m. at GROVESIDE Cemetery, Brooklin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Charity of choice.

WHALEN, Florence Ada -

At Scarborough Centenary Hospital, on Thursdsay, April 24, 2003. Florence Ada Whalen, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Cecil. Predeceased by her son Gerry and grandson Pat. Survived by her daughter-in-law Barbara and grandchildren Debbie; Nancy and her husband Frank; Gary and his wife Lenore; and great-grandchildren Andrea, Patrick, Krystal, Lauren, and Danielle. Special Auntie to Sherri and Raymond. At Florence's request, there will be no Visitation or Funeral Service held. Cremation will take place, followed by a private family Interment.

BOLAN-SOLOMON, Jean (nee Allen) -

On Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Community Nursing Home - Port Perry, Ontario, Jean Bolan-Solomon (nee Allen) was granted eternal peace by our Lord. Jean is survived by her husband Louis Solomon, her sister Beth, brother Jim, children: Bill (Laurie), Shirley, Mike, Rick, and Deb Bolan, Betty Fusco, Lynda Kellar, Sue (Garry) Atherton, many grandchildren and special kids Butch Solomon and Frank MacDonald and special friend Marie Breen. Awaiting her in heaven with loving arms is her first husband William Bolan, daughter Jean, Son David and Sons-in-law Joe and Eddy. Jean was a past member of the Court Ladies Snowbirds (Canadian Order of Foresters), a columnist for the Port Perry Star newspaper in the late 1960's and was 'one hell of a fisherman'. An inspirational and touching poet, she captivated her listeners with her beautiful words. Perhaps her most noteworthy accomplishment however, was being a loving and much loved mother to her children. A service was held on Saturday, April 25, 2003 at the Thornton Chapel in Oshawa, Ontario.

Lovingly remembered by her sister Joyce Hovey of Saint John, NB. Peacefully on Wednesday April 23, 2003 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 49th year. Garry, beloved son of Ray Gifford and the late Edith Gifford (nee Hadley). Loved brother of Carol Gifford. Dear nephew of Joyce Victoria Gifford and Neil Gifford. Cousin of Brenda Rowe, Gail Perry, Brian Gifford, and Kevin Pascoe. Garry will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
