Peacefully at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Saturday, March 13, 2004. Murray Wm. Meek passed away to be with his Lord and Saviour. Surrounded by loving wife Mary Anne, son Brian and wife Wendy, Paul and wife Kelly. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Freda Meek. Loving grandfather of Brianne, Kirk and Tiffany. Will be missed by his brother John and wife Karen, brother-in-law Wayne and wife Linda. Also missed by his nieces and nephews. Service to celebrate his life will be at Uxbridge Baptist Church Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at 2 p.m. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, Cope Mental Health Program, York-Durham Aphasia Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

THOMAS, Herbert Lindsay
(W.W.II Veteran, R.C.N.V.R.). Peacefully entered into rest surrounded by his family at the Ajax-Pickering Health Centre on Saturday March 13, 2004 in his 82nd year. Herbert, beloved husband of Marion. Loving father of Gail Thomas-Vince, Debbie and her husband Michael Gionfriddo, Randy and his wife Terri, Doug and his wife Michelle. Fondly remembered by his 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. Dear brother of Lillian Epton, Grenville Thomas, Jack Keith, and the late Vincent Thomas. The family received friends at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel on Monday March 15, 2004. Funeral Service was held in the Chapel on Tuesday March 16, 2004 at 11am. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Ajax-Pickering Health Centre.

(Long time member of the Ukrainian Pentecostal Church, Oshawa) Suddenly at Oshawa General Hospital on Friday, March 12th, 2004 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband Luke Dutkewich (1984) and her oldest son George (2002) both of Manitoba. Helen is survived by her daughter-in-law Sylvia of Manitoba and her sons Paul and his wife Nora of Whitby and Walter and his wife Joan of Blackstock. Loving Baba of Randy, Carrie, Cindy, Lisa; Patti, Angela; David, Daryl, Lindsay. Great Grandmother of Aaron, Kaitlyn, Krystyn; Jonathan, Julie, Rachel; Nicole, Alicia; Sarah; Matthew, Nicole; Kristen, Ryan; Kyley, Courtney, and great great Grandmother of Isaiha and new baby girl (Good). She will be sadly missed by her many many friends. Mother in law of Sabina James. Dear grandmother of Darlene, Dana, Donna, Denise, Mike, Christina, Doug and predeceased by Daren and Michelle. Dear great grandmother of Devin, David, Alex, Nikki and Hayden. Dear sister of Beatrice Smith, Eileen Wilson and predeceased by Gertie, Gladys, Mabel, Fred, George, and Howard. Min will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. As a result of a heart attack on January 21, 2004. Domenic passed quietly away on Thursday, March 11th, 2004 at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa at the age of 50 years. Loving husband of Franca of 26 years. Caring father of Joey, Rosie and Michael. Survived by his father Giuseppe and his mother Riva and predeceased by his mother Rosa Papandrea. SMITH, Arthur John
(Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #112, Whitby; retired from General Motors in 1977.) Arthur passed away peacefully at his home in Whitby on Thursday March 11, 2004 in his 77th year. Arthur was a devoted husband of 56 years to Muriel "Babe" (nee Rogers). He was the exceptional and cherished father of Karen and her husband Don Munroe, Larry and his wife Yvonne, Robin and her husband Mike Gallant, and Cindy and her husband Larry Harding. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Tracey, Kelly, Daryl, Danielle, Jamie and Jessie, and by his great-grandchildren Tyler and Kaitlyn. As well, his loving sister Bess Lee will miss him greatly. Visitation will be held March 25th from 7:00-9:00 pm, and a memorial service will be held on Friday March 26 at 1:00 pm at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel. He will remain in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

THORNE, Helen
Entered into rest peacefully surrounded by her family at Lakeridge Health in Bowmanville, ON, on Thursday, March 11th, 2004. Helen Elizabeth Chittick, in her 82nd year, was the beloved wife of the late John O.L. Thorne (1999). Loving mother of John and Bev, Peter and Anu, Wendy and Art Paley, Adair and Doug Prentice, and Dave and Gloria. Dear sister of Gordon and Myrna Chittick, and Heather and Keith Dow, all of New Brunswick, and Tom and Judy Chittick of Michigan. Dearly remembered by twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the Bowmanville Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Bowmanville (Lambs Road and Hwy. 2, east of Bowmanville), on Saturday, March 13th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service in the Church on Sunday, March 14th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. As a remembrance, donations to ADRA Canada or a Charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family.

TYMOSHIK, MARY (nee: Widish)
Born in Manitoba on April 7th, 1921, died peacefully and comfortably at the Village of Taunton Mills, Whitby, Ontario on Thursday March 11th, 2004. Mary was in her 83rd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Peter Tymoshik. Loving mother of Jerry and his wife Ellen. Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Jeremy Tymoshik and Lisa and her husband Richard Balko. Predeceased by her sister Annie Kluczkowsky and brother Steve Widish. Loving aunt of Eddie and Sydney Radkowski. At Mary's request no funeral service will be held. Cremation at Thornton Crematorium. Resting at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway # 2, Courtice L1E 2R7 905-432-8484 (4th set of traffic lights east of Townline Rd.) Memorial Gathering will be held for family and friends on Saturday March 20th, 2004 from 1- 3 PM at the Courtice Funeral Chapel. Peacefully at Fairview Lodge, Whitby on March 10th, 2004 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late Bill Edwards. Predeceased by sister Viola Clarke, and brother Earle Davis. Sadly missed and always remembered by niece Brenda Silver and husband David. Proud Nanna of Jessica, Tom, and Jeff. A service will be held at the W.C. Special friend of the late Lloyd McGahey. Loving mother of John Fleming of Lindsay, Jean and her husband Dennis Hughes of Oshawa, Alex Fleming and his wife Brenda of London, and Dale Fleming of Peterborough. Cherished by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Dear sister of Elva McGinnis of Lindsay. Predeceased by her sisters Irene Hughes and Hazel Thurston. Fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Creta Jenkins, Grace Nicholson, Gladys Nixon, Marjorie Bird, Dorothy Fleming and her stepdaughter Marg Stevens. Visitation was held at the Mackey Funeral Home, Lindsay on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held in the chapel on Friday, March 12th at 2:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully at the Scarborough Centenary Health Centre, on Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in his 73rd year. Bill Mulhall, loving husband and best friend of Dora for 50 years. Loving father of Cathie and her husband Stephen Phillips and Bill and his wife Brenda. Grandpa of Gary, Jennifer, Michael, Adam, Andrew and Robert. Dear brother of Helen, Patrick, Fr. Gerald, Eileen, Lou, Stella, and Myrtle. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and friends. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus.
