BOTTCHER, Margarete Maria
Passed peacefully on July 15th, 2004, after a lengthy illness. She leaves behind daughter Ursula, son Fred and his wife Jil, and son Helmut and his son Jakob, to whom she was a devoted and loving Oma. A native of Germany, she came to a new life in Canada to wed her husband Arthur, who predeceased her in 1999. Remembered by loving family in Canada, Germany and France and staff and friends at The Wynfield. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE Thornton Chapel 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Sunday, July 18th from 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday, July 19th at 11:00 A.M. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Parkinson Society of Canada.

BUCKINGHAM, Brian
Suddenly on Thursday July 15, 2004 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 43. Brian, loving father of Bryan Buckingham Jr. and his wife Tabitha, and Rodney Buckingham and his wife Melanie. Loved grandpa of Mia-Marie and Devon. Dear brother of Steve Buckingham and his wife Lois, Paul Buckingham and his wife Cindy, Rick Buckingham and his wife Sheila, and Keith Buckingham and his wife Sherry. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Brian will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family and many dear friends. Suddenly, on July 15, 2004, with her family by her side, at the Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Terry. Loving mother of Lorry, Craig (Jean), and the late Paul (Linda). Cherished grandmother of Lisa, Cherise (Joe) and Stephen, and great-grandmother of Joshua and Nicolas. Dear sister of Reginald (Pat). Joyce will be sadly missed by her extended family and many friends. Cremation. LEES, John Daniel (Jack)
WWII Veteran, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 15, 2004, at the Community Nursing Home in Port Hope, Ontario, in his 79th year. Jack was the former owner of J&B Books in Trenton, Ontario. Predeceased by his first wife, Betty (nee Henderson), and children John Frederick and Elizabeth Ann. Also predeceased by his parents, George and Lillian Lees, formerly of Oshawa, Ontario, his sister Thelma Heard and brothers-in-law Angus Heard, Paul Tane Sr., and Gerry Whattam. Survived by his second wife Evelyn Wilkins of Marmora, Ontario. Loving father of George (Vera), Jim (Linda), Tom, Rick (Sharon), Laura, Susan Andrews (Glenn), and David (Jackie). Grandfather to Mike, Mikayla, Jack, Rayanne, John, Meaghan, Mackenzie, Chris, and Grace. Will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Lydia MacDonald (Bruce) of Port Hope, Ontario, George (Anne) of Frankford, Ontario, Anne Whattam of Whitby, Ontario, Doris Wright (Tom) of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, George (Anna) of Frankford, Ontario, Lillian Munn (Robert) of Scotland, U.K., as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Anne Tesluk and the staff of the Port Hope Community Nursing Home for their professional and compassionate care. Cremation will take place, followed by a private family service at a later date. O'CONNOR, Sherri-Lee
Sudddenly, on Thursday, July 15, 2004 our beloved Angel passed away at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 47. Predeceased by her loving father Raymond O'Connor, Sherri leaves behind her mother Joyce and siblings, Mike O'Connor and his wife Robin, Sandy and her husband Rob Howden, Joy and her husband Marvin Laliberte and Danny O'Connor and his wife Leslie. A special thanks goes out to Dianne and all those who loved and cared for Sherri at Central Seven. You will always be our ''Union Avenue Family''. KERR, Marjorie Louise
passed away peacefully, at Hillsdale Estates, on Wednesday, July 14, 2004. Born January 8, 1912 in Myrtle, Ontario to the late John and Ella Beamish. She was the eldest of six children. Married June 25, 1936 to Joseph Alexander Kerr, who died on December 19, 1975. She is survived by her loving daughter Janet Edmondson and son-in-law Paul of Oshawa. Dearly missed by her grandchildren, Teri Van dreumel (Dave) of Fraserville, Ontario, Lori Maxwell (Jim) and Mark Edmondson (Sarah), all of Oshawa. Also sadly missed by her great-grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Van dreumel and Sarah Maxwell. Predeceased by her stepmother Irene, three brothers, Harold, Frank and Bill Beamish and her sister June Watson. Survived by her sister Mary Tomlinson and sister-in-law Norma Beamish. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. One of the founding members of Knox Presbyterian Church, Marjorie sang for many years in the choir and was a member of the the Women's Missionary Society. An avid music teacher for 60 years and served on the Provincial Council of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association (O.R.M.T.A), Marjorie travelled extensively and loved life. Also a member of the Oshawa Lawn Bowling Club for many years. McCANNY, Margaret "Rita" Bridget
Surrounded by family praying the rosary, Margaret "Rita" McCanny left this world in peace on Tuesday July 13, 2004 in Oshawa, age 79. Predeceased by her sisters Josephine & Maura, she leaves behind her beloved husband Owen, her children Rosemary, Kathy (Kevin), Kevin (Tracy), Stephen (Angela), Maura (Tim), Pat (Ann), her 13 grandchildren, along with her brother Pat and sister Roisin. Rita left Northern Ireland with Owen on the adventure of their lives, arriving in Montreal on their honeymoon 51 years ago. With a song in her heart and a smile on her lips she worked tirelessly in support of her family, friends and parish community. Past president of her parish Catholic Woman's League and the Third Order Franciscans, she and Owen moved to Oshawa in 1999. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa, with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1100 Mary Street North, on Friday July 15, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation. A memorial service followed by the Interment of Rita's ashes will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Chateauguay, Quebec on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Parkinson Society of Canada would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 6-9 p.m.
