(Professor Health Sciences; Durham College). Peacefully at home with family by her side on Friday, August 27th, 2004 in her 56th year. Beloved wife of David for 27 years. Cherished mother of Nicole (Mark) Schwarz of Barrie and Sheena House of Oshawa. Devoted daughter of Jeanne and the late Jean McGillis. Dear sister of Theresa Sutherland, Doreen McGillis (Lauren Waters) and Ron (Wendy) McGillis. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Special thanks to her sister Doreen, Durham Access to Care and Joan Federow of Partners in Community Nursing for their dedicated loving care. She will be sadly missed by her children Cora Castro, Nestor (Colleen), Agnes (Randy Scott), Perle (Rogel de Vera), Renne (Beth), Irma (Hans Meister), by her sisters Mesing, Metring and Francing, by her 10 grandchildren Pauline, Nestor (Melody), Margaret, Richie, Cory (Chico), Derek (Lala), Gene, Nicole, Johanne, RJ, by her 12 great-grandchildren Catrina, Joseph, Trevor, Cameron, Preston, Julian, Isabel, Jacob, Isaiah, Serena, Santiago, Noa and by her nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernadette's Church, 21 Bayly St. E., Ajax, Friday at 11 a.m.

KARAS-DEA, Lee Ann Margaret
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lee Ann of Keoma, Alberta at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 of Hodgkins disease. Lee Ann is survived by her loving husband Edward Dea and son Alexander Dea. Loved daughter of Joseph Karas, sister Janet Brandt and brother Roger Karas. Lee Ann was predeceased by her mother Janet Karas and her grandmother Flora Garraway. Originally from Ontario she had resided in Keoma for the past 4 years. Lee Ann loved gardening, crafts, country music and spending time with her family especially her beautiful son Alexander. Lee Ann was a woman of incomparable strength and courage who fought her disease for most of her adult life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. JOSEPH'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, Liberty St. S., Bowmanville on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 11a.m.

WHALEN, Robert E.
25 year employee of General Motors, Oshawa. Died suddenly at Mt. Sinai Hospital on August 23, 2004 at the age of 45. Will be forever missed by his companion Norma Jean Tucker, her children, Sheila and Sarah. Very proud grandpa Rob to his step grandson Kristian. He is survived by his mother Evelyn Whalen, 2 brothers, 5 sisters, and their families. Will be fondly remembered by mother-in-law Pauline Stoner, sister-in-law Charlene Minassian, and her family. At Robert's request, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service and interment of ashes will be held.
