Cherished Grandfather of Tara, Kaitlin, and Jenna Thornber; Lindsay and Tyler Munroe and Carley, Jeffrey and Cameron Thornber. Dear brother of Arthur and his wife Pat of England and Donald and his wife Iris. Born in Voutianous, Greece on June 17, 1934 to the late Vassiliki and Vassilios Verveniotis, she is predeceased by her step mother Dimtra Verveniotis. passed away at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa, with her family by her side on Monday August 16th, 2004. Athina (nee Verveniotis) at 70 years of age. Beloved wife of Charles (Karolos) Vedouras. Loving mother of Spyro and his wife Gertie Rose, Bill and his wife Effie and Agapi and her husband Victor Politis. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Carlos Jonathan, Zoey Angelica, Athina Nikoletta, Athina Carolina, Carlos Spyridon, Joseph Jeremy and John-Michael. Dear sister of George Verveniotis (Angeliki), Peter Verveniotis (Sofia) Toula Zubulakis (Jim) and the late Michael Verveniotis. She will be sadly missed by her many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. LANGE, David Aloys
46 years of age, on Monday, August 16th, 2004 at the Oshawa Lakeridge Health Centre. Beloved son of Al predeceased and Ann (Hueser) Lange of Sudbury. Loving brother of Ronald and Kathy both of Sudbury and Donald (wife Marion) of Minden. David was born in Sudbury, he graduated from Laurentian University with an Honours Degree in Economics and Politics. He had his C.G.A. and worked as an auditor with the Provincial Government. The passion in David's life was the Stock Market and he was an expert in Mining Stocks. He was an excellent gardener and an avid jazz music fan. David will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as an affable, chatty and charming man. Donations to the Greater Sudbury Developmental Service for their new Community Facility.

BOUDREAU, Rose Marie
Our mom, Rose Marie Boudreau passed away unexpectedly, Sunday August 15, 2004 at Oshawa Lakeridge Health Hospital. She fought a brief and brave battle with cancer. Rose is survived by her husband Ronald Shaw, her children Theresa Bursey (New Brunswick), Martina Boudreau (Oshawa), and Jason Boudreau (Whitby), her grandchildren Kelsey, Devan, and Hannah. She was loved by so many and gave so much of herself to everyone. She touched the lives of strangers whom walked through the doors of Chan's Garden where she worked for many years as a waitress. Her welcoming smile will be missed dearly by everyone. Many thanks to family and friends for all their support, but we wish to send a special thanks to two special people in mom's life, Kristal Delaney and Dr. Frank Fung for their support and unconditional love. Thank you both again for everything, your kindness will never be forgotten. Mom, every time I am sitting under my apple tree, I will close my eyes and think of you, imaging that we are lounging together sipping a cup of tea. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 19th at 7pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 632 Thornton Road North, corner of Rossland and Thornton. HENDSBEE, Margaret Zella (Jones), U.E.
(1916-2004). passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Sunday, August 15, 2004. Survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Alvin, and her loving children: Anna (Dr. William Hayes), Oshawa; John Charles Hendsbee, and grandson John Hayes, all of Oshawa and Carolyn (David Liggins), Halifax and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Warren and Daisy (Stuart) Jones and her siblings: Stewart, Harold, Vera (MacDonald), Roletta (Connors), Esther Ella, Sarah (Johnson) and George Stewart.
Margie was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on August 20, 1916. In 1943 she joined the Canadian Women s Army Corps at Trenton, N.S. and was married on May 11, 1944 to Staff Sgt. Alvin Hendsbee. After Alvin s retirement from the Dept of Social Services, they moved to Oshawa. She became involved in local activities such as the Canadian Club, and served as Branch Genealogist of the Upper Canada Branch of the United Empire Loyalists. Her researches into her family tree resulted in her book, The Jones Family of Guysborough. She also had an aptitude for crafts, especially knitting, quilting and sewing.
Margie displayed great courage in dealing with kidney dialysis and cancer. She will be greatly missed for her love and wise counsel. We thank the doctors, nurses and staff on 3F at Oshawa and the Dialysis unit at Whitby for their excellent care. Thanks also to Access to Care and Paramed, especially Karen and Brenda, whose care enabled Margie to remain at home for so long.
No funeral, at her request. Her ashes will be scattered at a later date in Nova Scotia. No flowers, but a donation to the Dialysis Clinic at Lakeridge Whitby or Lakeridge Oshawa, or the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Charity of your choice, would be much appreciated by the family and can be sent care of the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 1-877-987-3964, with whom arrangements have been entrusted.

JONES, Hazel Rachel
Peacefully, on Sunday August 15th, 2004 at Versa Care Centre, Uxbridge at 100 years of age. Hazel, beloved mother of Allan and grandmother of Judy, Bruce, Joe, Stephen and Brent. Survived by her sisters Jennie Johnson and Lila Faulkner and sister-in law Clara Jones. Predeceased by sister Leola Fiss and brother Jim Jones. In Hazel's memory, donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation.

ROLLO, Richard D. (Dick)
Peacefully at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa on Sunday, August 15th, 2004. Richard Donaldson Rollo, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Edna Watson. Dear father of Kevin (Carole) of Meaford, Ron (Theresa) of Surrey B.C. and Al (Vickie) of Orono. Lovingly remembered by his 3 grandchildren, Leigh McGregor (Christopher) and Kim Rollo (Darren) all of Oshawa and Matthew Rollo (Lisa) of Kamloops, B.C. Predeceased by his parents David and Mary Rollo and his brother Chris. Fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Yvonne Watson, Charlie Watson and Doug and Dorothy French all of Oshawa. Dick retired from General Motors after 38 years of service as a foreman. He served with the Canadian Army overseas during World War II. Predeceased by Parents Dmetro and Anna Gullason and brothers Mike, John, Bill, Peter, Ernie and Gordon. Lorne joined the R.C.A.F. in 1951 and served as an Aero Engine Technician. Following his retirement after 28 years of active peacetime service he became the Commanding Officer of Air Cadet Squadron 566 in Canora, Saskatchewan. Fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters Janis (Dave), Marcia (Jerry), David (Deborah), Barney (Heather), Kelly (Maureen), Valerie (Gord), Elaine (Doug), and brothers in law Ross Wilcox, and the late Robert Broughton. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. PARTRIDGE, Mary Mitchell (nee McNaul)
Longtime employee of General Motors, Oshawa. After a brief illness at the Kingston General Hospital on Saturday, August 14, 2004, in her 84th year. Mary was born in Port-Glasgow, Scotland on November 5,1920. She is predeceased by her son Dennis Meisner and is survived by her son David Meisner and his wife Julia. Cherished nan of Lori (Gord), Robin (Danny), Scott (Terri), Sean (Paula), Erin, Shannon, Jory and Jaimie and five great grandchildren. Mary is predeceased by her brother William McNaul and will be missed by her niece Diane Olajos and nephew Robert McNaul and their families. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Society in Mary's memory.

ROGERS, Joseph Earl
Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Saturday, August 14, 2004, in his 71st year. Joseph was a 30-year employee of the City of Toronto. He is survived by his loving wife Hilda (Tilley) of Wilmot Creek. Dear step-father to Donna Cadeau, Linda Warner (the late Bob), Rick Heisler (Heather), all of Toronto, Bob Heisler (Penny) of Ajax, and Judi Burns (Rick) of Trenton. Cherished grandfather of Suzie Armstrong (Court), Brent Cadeau, Chris Warner, Rich Burns (Jennifer), Tracey Robson (Jeff), Corey, Brett, Beau Heisler, and Alex Heisler.
