BRENTNALL, Iris Evelyn
With great sorrow the family of Iris announces her passing at Hyland Crest Nursing Home, Minden on Monday, September 26th, 2005, at the age of 83 years. She was the beloved wife of the late William McInnes (Bill) Brentnall who predeceased her in 1986. Dear mother of Carol Brentnall and her husband Larry Pratt of Haliburton and Alan and his wife Janie of Oshawa. Loving Gram of Steven, Robert (Sharon), Nicole (Rob), Tracy (Shane) and Lisa (Mark). Dearest Great-gram to Christopher, Erika, Sarah, Alysha, Dianna, Robert Jr., Connor, Eric, Nicola and Emma. Predeceased by her sister Elizabeth and her two brothers John and David. Iris was a resident of Scarborough for many years, coming to Oshawa in 1990. She had been a resident of Thorntonview Long Term Care for the past three years and just recently moved to Minden. Dear sister of Anne Hrycyshyn and family, Mary Staromanski and her husband Paul and family, Steve Kicenko and family, and the late Bill Kicenko, Mike Kicenko and their families. VEENHOF, LAURA EMMA
(Nee: Kinsman) March 15th, 1928 - Sept 26th, 2005. It is with great sadness that the family announce the quiet passing of Laura Veenhof at her home in Courtice on Monday September 26th after a short illness. Laura was the loving and dear wife of the late Henry (Hank) Veenhof and the beloved mother of Beverly Dilworth, her husband Peter, and cherished grandmother of Adam, Alexandra and Jameson. Fondly remembered stepmother of Dianne Fitchett (Kevin) and Sandra Neubauer and Grandma of John and Allen. A lifetime resident of Oshawa, Laura was the daughter of the late Hellen and George Kinsman and sister of the late Leonard Kinsman. She is survived by her sister-in-law Elaine Kinsman. Laura will be sadly missed by her lifelong friends Jean and Jack Hawe with whom she spend many happy times. The family are gratefully declining flowers but are welcoming donations in Laura's memory to Hearth Place Oshawa or Ebenezer United Church Cemetery Upkeep Fund (Courtice).

David Butler of Port Perry, beloved husband of Irene Blain. Loved father of Maura and her husband Bill Archer of Bowmanville, Kathleen and her husband Craig Anderson of North Bay, Terence Butler and his wife Lucy of Bowmanville, and Glynis Sybil (deceased). Loving grandfather of Brodie, Stephen, Jesse, Amy, Rebekah and Veronica. David will also be missed by his former wife Elizabeth Butler of North Bay. Dear brother of Isabelle and her husband Gord Bryant of Oshawa, and Larry Butler and his wife Audrey. HONSBERGER, Karen (nee Davidge)
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday September 25, 2005 at the age of 57. Predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend Robert. Proud and devoted mother of Scott (Danielle) and Kelly (Beth). Adoring grandmother of Abby. She is survived by her loving sister Lynn Lovekin. Karen will be deeply missed by her extended family and many friends. She was a Teacher/Librarian at Highbush Public School in Pickering. She was a passionate participant in Dragon Boating (Cobourg Survivor Thrivers and Forest Brook Dragons), and Legion 606 Ladies Slow Pitch. She was also very involved in the life of Forest Brook Community Church. The funeral service will be held at the new location of Forest Brook Community Church (60 Kearney Drive, Ajax) on Wednesday September 28, 2005 at 11:00a.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Grossman, Dr. Lickley, and Dr. Zelewski, Chaplain Sheila Ellis and the wonderful nurses in the Oncology and Palliative Care Units at Scarborough Grace Hospital. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Scarborough Hospital Grace Division Palliative Care Unit or Breast Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated.

SIMPKIN, Eric Julian Wayne
Of Pickering. Born November 23, 1946. Beloved husband and best friend of Janice, brother of Fred and Barb, father of Paul and Shannon, stepfather to Amanda, Brian and Justin, grandfather to Tyler Simpkin and Alyson Lutes, loyal friend and family member of many others. Eric passed away quietly, with dignity on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. He will be so sadly missed by everyone.

CHIZEN, Sally Elsie (nee Korpan)
(Employee of Securitas at the General Motors location) After a courageous battle with cancer at the Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Saturday, September 24th, 2005 in her 60th year. Sally will be tenderly remembered by her dearly beloved husband of thirty-eight years Harry Chizen and their four children, Natalie Chizen (Paul Michelsen), Adrienne Taylor (Rob), Jason Chizen (Ellen) and Justin Chizen (Lindsay). She was a cherished “Baba” to Aiden Taylor, Janna Chizen and Tyler Michelsen. Sally was predeceased by her father John in 1982 and will be sadly missed by her mother Nancy Korpan, and her brother Ron Korpan (Donna). Sally will be lovingly remembered by all of her extended family and friends. Entered into eternal rest, on Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Altamont Nursing Home, Scarborough, at the age of 77. Cornelius, beloved husband of Cornelia. Loving father of Angelina and her husband Walter Steenstra, Joanna and her husband Marco Mecozzi, John and his wife Pina, Raymond, Martin and his wife Paula, Walter and his wife Claudia, and Anna Carruthers. Fondly remembered by his 19 grandchildren and by his many relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the W.C. He will be truly missed by his many great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers and sister Robert, Norman and Mary Hodges. Loving mother of Nikki Skinner (Art) of Kitchener and George (Gena Hayes) of Ajax. Margaret will be missed by her sisters Betty Hillock, Muriel Baxter, and Doris Osterman. She will also be greatly missed by her 5grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, nieces and nephew. Predeceased by her late brother Ronald (Sonny) Scott. STIRLING, Margaret (nee McConaghy)
After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Stirling, on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at age 70, at her daughter's home, surrounded by family. Her strength, determination and courage was unprecedented. In spite of her pain, her positive outlook and concern for those she loved was an example for all. Beloved mother of Lori Prior (Michael) of Westlake Village, California, Barb Simpson (Bruce Montaigue deceased) of Port Perry, and Shelli McLeod (Don) of Port Perry. Loving grandmother of Shea, Shannon, Robert, Abbie, Megan and Taylor. Predeceased by her sisters Phyllis Brooks and Myrna Cowl. LITKE, Dorothy Violet
Peacefully on 23 September 2005, of cancer, in her 77th year, at Lakeridge Whitby, with Donna, Debbie and Bob providing comfort. Dorothy, from Beausejour MB, lived in Burlington, Huntsville, Tillsonburg and latterly at the Court at Brooklin. She is fondly remembered by brother George (Beatrice), sisters Hannah and Eleanor (Roy), 15 nieces and nephew, their spouses and countless friends. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Beausejour. The family is very grateful to the complex continuing care staff at Lakeridge Whitby for tending to Dorothy with love and tenderness for two months. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Oshawa Hospital Foundation or the Durham Cancer Centre.

RESTIVO, Pat
After spending her final days surrounded by family, Pat passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the age of 65 years. Beloved wife of the late George Restivo. Loved daughter of the late Frank and Gladys Blair, loving mother of Gord and his wife Wanda, Kim, Jan and her husband Brian, Proud Grandma of Katie, Ben, Shawna, Brett, Ty and Michael. Sadly missed by her brothers Chuck (Annie), Dusty (Lil) and the late Danny and all the Blair Family in Fort Erie. Dear friend and niece Terri will always cherish special moments at the lake. Loved daughter – in – law of Sam Restivo, treasured sister – in – law of Linda, Bill and his wife Diana, Susan and her husband Gerry, and niece Brianne. Pat will be greatly missed by all her many friends at Davis Lake. Pat now rests peacefully in the arms of her husband and soul mate George. She will be forever remembered for her insurmountable strength, courage and caring.
