GALLAGHER, Hilda M. - Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Center September 7, 1999, Hilda M. Gallagher of St. John`s. Aged 68 years. Predeceased by husband Patrick in 1997 and brother Don. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, two sons: Gary (Sheila) and Patrick (Dianne); two daughters: Cathy (Gary French) and Janet (Philip Lane); 10 grandchildren: Scott, Sean, Jeffery, Stephen, Peter, Colin, Melanie, Erin, Ryan and Michael; two sisters: Yvonne (Clarence Randell) and Judy (Richard Whitty), Dartmouth, N.S.; one brother Al (Gloria) Bulgin; and sister-in-law Barbara, Ontario; three brothers-in-law: Gerry, New York, Ray (Elizabeth) and Frank (Sis); six sisters-in-law: Peg Nelson, Kay Milauskas, Loretta Lewis, Genevieve Unger and Florence Haney, all in the USA; and special sister-in-law Rita McDonald, St. John`s; and caregiver Bernadette Crocker. MURPHY, Mary (Flynn) - Age 79 years of Calvert. Passed peacefully away after a very brief struggle with cancer at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Center, on April 7, 2003, two days after her 79th birthday. Predeceased by her first husband Patrick Flynn in 1990. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Bernard, who is residing at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home, her niece Mary Margaret Pine, nephews: John, Robert, Patrick and their families; step-sons: David Murphy (Betty), Wally Murphy (Sharon), Tim Murphy (Pat); step-daughters: Marilyn Healey (Glenn), Lorraine King (Kevin) and Carol Ann Hartery (Rod) and their families; Ann Gushue (her caregiver for the past six months); also other relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are five daughters: Lillian (Joe Parrott), Imelda Critch, Carmel (Joe Whitty), Ethel (Greg Davis), London, Ont., Caroline, St. John`s; seven sons: Christopher, Joseph (Collette), St. Vincent`s, Vincent, St. John`s, John (Marrion), Stephenville, Ed (Joan), London, Ont., Sylvester (Susan), Calgary, Gary (Paula), Gaskiers; daughter-in-law Cathy, St. John`s; thirty grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Ron (Helen), Clar (Ruth), Walter; sisters-in-law: Mary Curtis, Lucy Hayward, Marge Hayward. She will be sadly missed by a large circle of relatives and close friends, especially Vonnie Neville and her caretakers at Neville`s Seniors Home, St. Mary`s. WALSH, William Joseph - Passed peacefully away, surrounded by family, at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home in Carbonear, on Monday, December 1, 2003, William Walsh of Bay de Verde in his 88th year. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary Walsh; brothers: Mark and James; sisters: Katherine (Kate), Ethel and Gertrude; grandson: Glen and great-grandson: Kyle. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Alice of 64 years; son Mark; daughters: Margaret, Gertie (Stan) and Marina (Dave); twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. A special thank you is extended to the staff of the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home for their compassion and care during his stay and to his special friend, Sam, for all your help and companionship over the past few months. He was a man who loved to play the accordion and has so since the age of nine in many communities and functions in Bay de Verde and the surrounding areas. Predeceased by her husband Clarence Moores; sisters: Dorothy, Mabel (Mab), Margaret and Anne and brothers: Richard and Winston (Wink). Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories, her one son David Moores, daughter-in-law Karen Thistle and loving grandsons: Colin and Joel. Also leaving to mourn her extended family, many friends, especially bridge partners on Cornwall Heights and elsewhere, and the staff and residents of Chancellor Park. DAWE, William Albert - 92, of New Minas, Kings co. passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2001 in Wolfville Nursing Home, Wolfville, NS. Born in Port De Grave, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Morgan) Dawe. He worked as an office manager with Asarco in Buchans, Newfoundland for 40 years. In 1976 he and his wife moved to New Minas and spent their winter months in Florida. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Ken-Wo Golf and Country Club, New Minas; the Gyro Club, and the St. James Anglican Church, Kentville. He is survived by nieces: Lorraine MacLaughlin and Florence Pippy, both of St. John`s; Jean Boyd, Brantford, Ont.; Norma Elliott, Ottawa, Ont.; nephew Reg Elford, Bedford. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Olive Field; brother Harold; sisters: Winnie and Ella. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001 both in the H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville. Father John Scott officiating. Interment in the Anglican Church Cemetery, Port De Grave, Nfld. at a later date. HILLIER, Albert J. - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 after a happy and active life, in his 74th year, Albert Hillier of Blaketown. Predeceased by his wife Agnes and daughter-in-law Gladys. TULK, Allister Edward Gordon - At London Health Sciences Centre, in the presence of his family friends, in London, on Thursday, August 1, 2002, in his 79th year. Cherished husband of the late Blanche, father of Cheryl Garvey of Washington, Marie Adams of Montreal and Hubert of Toronto. Son of the late Samuel and Ethel Gordon of Millertown, NF and will be reunited with his infant child Patricia, and will be sincerely missed by his sister Doris, brothers: Calvin, Leonard and Malcolm. Remembered by future generations through grandchildren: Sharron, Steven, Travis, Ryan, Natalia and Tanya; and great-grandson Aaron. He is mourned by his nieces, nephews and special friends. NEWELL, Albert Kenneth (Kenny) - After a brief but courageous struggle with cancer, passed away on January 26, 2003, at home, in Ajax Ontario, in the warmth and love of his surrounding family. Kenny at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband of 46 years to Audrey. Treasured Dad of Linda (Greg Perron) and Lora (Anton Cook). Devoted Grampie of Isaac, Jonathan, Jessie and Emily. Kenny will be sadly missed by his Aunt Gertrude and Uncle Lester of St. John`s, his Aunt June and Uncle George Stanford of Pouch Cove, his many cousins of Newfoundland, and his many relatives and friends of Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Edward. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughters: Isabelle Carlson (Bob), Dorothy Jackman (special friend Ed); sons: Raphael (Nellie), Edward (Rosemarie), Leonard (Arlene); also thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Jane Walsh of Fermeuse.
