(retired 18-year employee of G.M.) – at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville with her family at her side, on Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Linda, loving wife and best friend of Ron of Newcastle for 36 years. Dear mother of Tracy Baldwin and Ron Baldwin, both of Oshawa, and the late Rick. Sadly missed by granddaughter Alexandra Bedore. Sister of Don Bennett, Ted Cooney, Bev Garner, Bonnie Hamilton, Ron Cooney, Vicky Call, and Bob Cooney. Missed by her special four-legged companion Nova. passed away peacefully at the Bowmanville Hospital, Wednesday, November 30th, 2005, in her 100th year. Wife of the late Lloyd Lang and Dr. Harold McPhee. Much loved mother of Fran Hendren (Owen) and the late Rea McPhee. Fondly remembered by her granddaughters Anne and Jennifer. Cremation has taken place. LEGROS, JOHN AMABLE
passed away at the Ajax Pickering Hospital November 30th, 2005. John was in his 65th year. Longtime resident of St. Charles, Ontario and recently a resident of Iroquois Falls, Ontario. John was a successful business contractor in the construction field, which he has been doing for the last 30 years. John is survived by his wife Mariel and his daughter Lucy of Iroquois Fall, Ontario. Pre-deceased by his father Hector and his mother Amanda, and sister Annette and brothers Richard and Michael. Dear brother of Robert Legros (Jenny) of Whitby, ON, Daniel Legros (Rose) of St. Charles, ON, Pierre Legros (Monica) of Whitby, ON, sister Claudette German (Henry) of Sudbury, ON, Paul Legros (Tracy) of Thunder Bay, ON. MACKEY (nee Conlin), Joan Elva
(Joan dedicated her life to her family) Peacefully, with her family by her side, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, in her 79th year. Beloved and loyal wife of 52 years to Robert (Bob) Mackey of Whitby. Extra loving mother of Jayne and her husband Reg, Phil (late wife Christine), and always caring and concerned about Carol and her husband Dennis White of Newfoundland. Predeceased by her beloved parents Philip and Elva Conlin and grandson Zachary. May she be reunited with them in Heaven and watch over the souls of all of her grandchildren and family, especially her beloved Tiffany and her husband Kevin Hickey and new great-grandson Ronan Ryan, who she got to cuddle and enjoy for a few weeks, (thank you God, she got her Christmas present); her dependable and caring grandchildren Jeffrey and his fiancée Aidan; Courtney and Bradley Piper; her precious Robb and Grace Mackey; her beautiful Rachelle and Emily White. Joan will be missed by many bridge partners. She was past President of the Catholic Womens’ League, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and will be missed by her many friends. MALLATRATT, William Alfred (Bill)
March 26, 1929-November 30, 2005 passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 30, 2005 at his home in Lagoon City surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill is survived by his loving wife Marie (née Sainthill) of 48 years; cherished daughters Amy (Mikel Miller) of Whitehorse, YT, Susan (Steve Duggan) of Orillia, ON, Lynne (Kevin Sawyer) of Toronto, ON; his beloved grandsons Brenden Joseph, and twins Owen-James and William Spencer; sister Helen Bird; sister-in-law Eleanor Sainthill; nephew Chris (Nancy) Sainthill; nieces Mary Duncan, Anne Sainthill, Janet (Michael) Sellwood, and Mary (Grant Ackerman) Bird; and eight great-nieces. He will be greatly missed by good friends Willo and Paul DiNovo, Red and Katherine Hobson, Vaughn and Monica Taylor, and by his beloved Mister Cuddles. Highlights of his varied career included: General Manager Canadian Retail Hardware Association; General Manager Home Show; General Manager Canadian National Exhibition; President Marwill Inc.; Executive Director Ontario Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association; and past President of Cedarhurst Golf Club in Beaverton, ON. DAY, Donna Elizabeth
passed away peacefully, November 26, 2005, at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital, with her sons by her side, at the age of 65. Donna leaves behind her son Jamie Day and his daughter Alex and wife Lisa of Pefferlaw; and her son Jeff Day of Pickering. Predeceased by her husband Jim Day. She also leaves behind her brothers Paul and his wife Jackie of Milton; and Peter and his wife Cathy of Bowmanville; as well as many other family members and friends.

MARTIN (NEE ARMSTRONG) Helen Joan
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Helen, wife and mother at her residence in Oshawa on Saturday, November 26th, 2005 in her 73rd year. Helen was the eldest daughter of the late Franklin and Hazel Armstrong. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Dennis, and her daughter Pamela and husband Jeff Prickett, son Paul and his fiancée Stephanie Johnston. Also survived by her brother Arnott and his wife Myrna Armstrong, sister Isabel and husband Ross Matthews, Joyce and husband Lyle Smith, Donna and husband Wim de Munnik, and predeceased by her sister Marjory Armstrong. Also survived by brother-in-law Ronald and wife Betty Martin, and sister-in-law Barbara and her late husband Frank Martin. Helen will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. FOX, Ivah Helen
A teacher with the Oshawa Board of Education for many years, Ivah Fox died at the Sunnycrest Nursing Home on Friday, November 25th in her 96th year. She was a Charter member of Northminster United Church.
Ivah was the daughter of Edgar and Helen Fox, and dear sister of the late Sarah Brown and Jessie Bennet.
She will be sadly missed by her brother Donald E. Fox and his wife Barbara; as well as her nephews, David and wife Anne Brown of Vermont, Nova Scotia, Tom and wife Marion Bennet of Cortez Island, British Columbia, Bob and wife Sharon Bennet of Campbellford, John Fox of Bramalea and Stephen and wife Betty Fox of Minden. She will be missed by many great nieces and nephews. A family service will be held at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Charity of your choice would be appreciated.

THOMSON, Cynthia
With her Mom, Dad and Sister at her side on Friday November 25, 2005 she passed away from pancreatitis at Lakeridge Health Centre Oshawa. Cynthia was 30 years old, daughter of Pat and Garry, sister of Adrienne. She will be lovingly remembered by many friends and family. Cynthia was a GIS Specialist with the Regional Municipality of Durham. A graduate of Trent University and Sir Sanford Fleming College in Lindsay. Cynthia will be cremated and a Celebration of her Life will take place in January 2006. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Society of Intestinal Research.

(Active volunteer within her community) Suddenly at her residence in Newcastle on Thursday, November 24th, 2005 at the age of 44. Devoted wife of Mike for 16 years. Cherished mother of Alex. Beloved sister of Vivian and her husband Barry Forde of Elliot Lake, Brenda Veitch of St. Mary’s and Darlene and her husband Doug Skinner of Elliot Lake. Sister-in-law of Dieter Hoos and his wife Marlena of Regina, Hans Hoosand his wife Bonnie of Belleville, Bernie Hoos of San Jose (Leanna), Pam Carrick and her husband Wayne of B.C., Gord Hoos and his wife Dee of Oshawa and Petra Lutczyk (John) of Oshawa. Caring aunt of Erick, Owen, Angela (deceased), Rylie; Aaron, Rebekah, Stefan, Chris, Lillian (deceased), Katherine, Laura, Jeremy, Brandon, David, Jesse, Bradley and Tiffany. Dear daughter-in-law of Karl and Hedy Hoos of Oshawa. She will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends. At Maxine’s request there will be no funeral service. A memorial gathering will be held in the spring. Peacefully after a lengthy illness, on Thursday, November 24, 2005, at the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry, at age 89. Gladys Jean (nee Wakeford), beloved wife of the late Tom Jenkins of Port Perry. Loved mother of Carol and her husband Harold Hubbs of Burford, Lynda and her husband John Callan of Newfoundland, and Patricia and her husband Jacob Starkes of Scarborough. Loving grandmother of Gary, Ken, Johnny and the late Steven, and great grandmother of Shawn, Tyler, Katelyn-Ann, Shelden and Caitlyn-Lace. Survived by her brothers Lloyd Wakeford and his wife Annie, and Harold Wakeford and his wife Elsie, her sister Aleta Campbell, and her sister-in-law Lil Davidson. She was predeceased by her sister Irene, and her brothers Bill, Norm, Ross and Cliff. The family of Jean Jenkins will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Monday, November 28th from 12 noon – 1 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 1 p.m. with Reverend Elaine Bidgood-Sveet officiating.
