Dear brother of David Rice and his wife Kay of Caledonia and Frank Rice of Scotland. Loved by all of his many friends. (Retired General Motors Canada 35 years) passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Friday November 11, 2005 in his 81st year. Predeceased by his wife Martha (1998). Loving father of Ietje and her husband Nick Jackovich of Mississauga, Dieuwke Steenstra of Nanaimo B.C., Jan Steenstra and his wife Nancy of Codrington, Ont. and Walter Steenstra and his wife Angelina of Whitby. Grandfather of Julie Steenstra and Amy Jackovich. Great grandfather of Nicholas and Brandon. Survived by his sister Klaaske Diepenhorst of Scarborough. Predeceased by Attje Steenstra. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 79 Baldwin Street Brooklin Village Whitby from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. A private family service will follow. REAY, Ian Rigger
(Veteran of WWII with RCAF #23 Detachment, flight 66 and retired employee of General Motors of Oshawa/Ste. Therese) It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Ian Rigger Reay, in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Andre. Wonderful father to Crystal (Patrick), Keven (Suna), Darryn (Barb), Derek (Lori). Loving Grampa to Spencer and Keenan Dawson, Joshua, Rebecca, Coltyn and Nicholas Reay, Brianna and Chaleigh Rose Reay. Son of the late William and Dorothy Reay. Brother of Kitty Tripp of B.C., Connie Ryan of Kirkland Lake and the late Jack Reay. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and remembered by all. He was someone who throughly enjoyed life, song and laughter and always kept his humour. Cherished grandma of 14 and loving Grandma Great of 26. Lovingly remembered by her sisters Della and her husband George Skerrit, and Blanche Empringham, her brother Ralph and his wife Marion, and her sister-in-law Helen Bentley. Lovingly remembered by 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 6 step-grandchildren. Also survived by 2 brothers Gordie and John, 5 sisters Agnes, Marion, Sharon, Marjorie and Patricia and their families. Remembered by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by mother Mary McLeod, father Daniel McDonald and step-father Carson McLeod. Mother-in-law Elizabeth Kelly and father-in-law Dennis Kelly. She is survived by her best friend and husband W. James Pengelly, their children Jim, Muriel Anne (Richard), Joe (Diane), Peter (Jenny), Mark (Liz) and Bill (Shar). Much loved grandmother of Meaghan, Beth, Jeffrey, Matthew, Kayla, Rachel, Barry, Jamie and Simon. Survived by her brother Bill Snowden (Bev) and sister-in-law Dorothy Snowden. She will be remembered for her superb cooking skills and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. CARNEGIE, Kenton Joel
Suddenly on Tuesday November 8, 2005 as a result of a tragic incident in Points North, Saskatchewan at the age of 22. Kenton was an honour student in his 3rd year of the Geological Engineering Co-op Program with the University of Waterloo and a graduate of O Neill Collegiate in Oshawa. Kenton was a man of profound integrity, intelligence, knowledge, dedication and humour and he will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. He was a man of science, a brilliant artist, and a musical aficionado. Kenton had an incredible understanding of the land and an everlasting love of travel and exploration. Cherished son of Kim and Lori (nee Hrehoruk). Loving brother of Calvin (Sarah), and Breanne. Dear grandson of John and Jeannie Hrehoruk and Lillian Carnegie.
