Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, December 22nd, 2005 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Danton. Loving father of Tom Jr., Jennifer and Bob and the late Mark. Cherished “Poppa” of Erica, Casey and Matt. Thomas will be sadly missed by his brothers Norman and Peter and his sister Evelyn. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE “Thornton Chapel” 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Saturday, December 24th from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 P.M. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

GRAY, Lillian Ruth
(Past Matron of the Eastern Star and Long Time Teacher) Peacefully at the Ballycliffe Nursing Home on Thursday, December 22, 2005, Lillian Ruth Gray in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late William. Dear mother of Charlotte (Norman Green) of Vancouver, and predeceased by son Alan and his wife Joan. Loving grandmother of Lauralyn, Martin, Valerie, Louise, Debbie, Wendy and great grandmother of 14 and great great grandmother of 3. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, (65 King's Crescent, Ajax) on Friday December 30, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Ballycliffe Lodge would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank all the staff at Ballycliffe Lodge for their kindness and care.

HOGAN, Clinton Thomas
Clint was a real character, and didn’t want to give in. But on December 22nd, in the company of his family, Clint passed away after his battle with cancer. He was a man that was full of life and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He was a man that lived ‘one day at a time’ and took full advantage of that. Predeceased by his wife Betty, brothers Nelson and Murray, sister Jean and Esther of Arnprior. Beloved father of Diane Budd and Garnet Geroux. Loving grandfather of Eric, Kayla, Shelly, Wayne, Mark and Scott. Dear uncle to Valerie, Sandra, Greg, Andrew, Emerson, Maureen and Lorraine of Arnprior. Clint was a man that gave of himself unselfishly to others and will be remembered by all that knew him. We love you Clint. Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 27th from 2-4 p.m. ad 7-9 p.m. with funeral services being held on December 28th at 11 a.m. at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-4711). Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Durham Region Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.

KEARNS, Joseph Floyd
Peacefully entered into rest at Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on Thursday December 22, 2005 at the age of 86 years. Joseph, beloved husband of the late Louise. Loving father of Wade and his wife Barb, David and his wife Gladys, Patty and her husband Dan O'Shea, Debbie and her husband Phil Smith, Lesa and her husband Brian Rate, Tim and his wife Sandy, Donna and her husband Mark Sullivan. Dear Papa (grandfather) of 18 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his many relatives and by his church family. The family received friends at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby (905-668-3410) from 7 to 9 pm Friday (at the funeral home) and from 12-1 pm Saturday (at the church). Funeral services were held at the Whitby Free Methodist Church (1916 Rossland Road East, Whitby - corners of Rossland and Garrard) on Saturday December 24, 2005 at 1pm. Interment, Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, Whitby.

LONGO, Giuseppe “Joe” Privato
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the age of 82. Devoted husband of Antonietta. Loving father of Annamaria, Franco & Gloria. Father-in-law of Tito Marimpietri, Silvana (nee Ziccarrelli). Closest friend and treasured Nonno to Tito-Dante, Joseph, Tiziano, Marco & Antonia. Resting at The ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the People on Saturday, December 24th at 10:30 am. Entombment at Resurrection Mausoleum, Whitby. Visitation Friday, December 23rd 2-4 & 6-9 pm. Prayers will be held between 8 & 8:30 pm Friday. We extend our most sincere gratitude to the healthcare professionals who cared for him. Special thanks to those on floor 6F.

At Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 in his 74th. year. James, beloved husband of the late Gloria Bowden. Dear son of the late Margaret & Ralph Bowden. Brother of Don & his wife Carole of Wilmot Creek, Newcastle and the late Bill. Uncle of Doug, David, Cheryl, Terry Lyn and Dawn Ann. A memorial service for James will be held at a later date. Cremation at Bowmanville Crematorium. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Jim’s memory may be made through the MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division St., Bowmanville.

CARMICHAEL, Douglas
(member of Royal Legion & Kinsman Club) on December 21st, 2005 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Norma for 58 years. Loving father of Ronald, Gwen and her husband Tom Tullock, Barry and his wife Carla. Predeceased by his son Norman, brothers Ronald, Keith and sisters Georgina and Irene. Lovingly remembered by 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Rested at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice, L1E 2R7 (905-432-8484). Funeral service was held in our Chapel on Friday December 23rd, 2005 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.

LONDON, Percy Fredrick
W.W. II Veteran R.C.D. Percy died peacefully at the Winfield Retirement Home in Oshawa on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 in his 98th year. At Percy's request, no service was to be held. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held at the Winfield, Oshawa in February 2006.

TRICK, Donald James
Employed by (Lasco) Gerdau-Ameri Steel since 1974. Suddenly, on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at his home in Bowmanville, at age 51. Loved father of Jamie Trick and his wife Michelle of Port Perry, Gentry Trick and her husband Chad Freake of Oshawa, and Tyrell Trick of Port Perry and grandfather of Alexander Freake. Predeceased by his father Albert Trick and survived by his mother June Trick and her husband Melborne Mills of Seagrave. Dear brother of Linda Nault, John, Randy and Dennis Trick. The family of Donald Trick will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Tuesday, December 27th from 12 noon – 1 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Private interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. (Owner Wilsons’ Refinishing & Collision Centre, Port Perry) Due to complications from an Aortic Aneurysm, on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at age 58. Danny Wilson of RR #4 Sunderland, beloved husband of Cheryl “Squeak” (nee Brown). Loved father of Clark and Clayton. Brother of Allick, Jimmy, Ross and Garry. Danny will also be sadly missed by his many friends and business associates. KOPP, Anton (Tony)
Passed away peacefully at his home in Pickering on December 20, 2005 after a long and courageously fought battle with cancer. Beloved and devoted husband to Thelma for 53 years. Sadly missed by his children: Larry and his wife Donna, Gary and his wife Brenda, Tim and his wife Sylvia and Janet and her husband Nick. Loving grandfather to Tara, Jonathan, Amanda, Meghan, Gabriella, and Hailey. Great-grandfather to Kaitlynn. Dear brother to Annette. Predeceased by siblings Adolph, Pete, Eddie, Andy, Alex, Tillie, Min, and Jim. Tony, former Activities Director for the Pickering Seniors and member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 606, will be missed by his many friends and family across Canada, We would like to thank the many friends and neighbours who have helped us through this difficult time. Special thanks to Nicole and the palliative care nurses from St. Elizabeth. Jack, beloved husband and friend for 62 years of Dorothy “Dot” (nee Stack). Dear brother of Ray Scott and his wife Doreen and predeceased by his sister Hazel and her husband George Tree. Jack will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and his special four legged companion Harry. At Jack’s request a private family service will be held. Passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family, on Monday, December 19, 2005, at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital at the age of 89. Loving wife of the late Roland.
