passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Extendicare Nursing Home on Tuesday January 31, 2006. Kataryna in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Walter Gan. Dear mother of Zena, and Maria. Truly missed by her grandchildren Vera, Myron and Vitold, and by her great grandchildren Tamara, Mila, Alex, Stefan, and Camilla. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church on Saturday February 4, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery. COLLARD, Charles Chuck Henry
passed away peacefully with family by his side at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville; continuing care unit on Sunday, January 29th, 2006 in his 91st year. Chuck predeceased by his loving wife Irene (nee Sutton). Beloved father of Joan Walker (Marvin), Mary Collard-Radford (Victor), Paul Collard (Susan McIlwain). Dear grandfather to Kathryn Hanna (Glenn), Barbara Catalano (Joe), Allison Walker-Chretien (Tim), Honoure and Cadence McIlwain-Collard. Great grandfather to Andrew and Laura Hanna, Michael and Daniel Catalano, Sarah and Zachary Chretien. Chuck retired from Ontario Hydro after 33 years of service. He had in excess of 65 years of service in the scouting movement. He was known to several generations of scouts as Mr.C , during his over 40 year tenure as Scout Master at the 7th Oshawa Scout Troop. He held many positions within the Oshawa District, including District Commissioner. He and Irene spent many enjoyable years at Camp Samac Adventure Base in Haliburton, where he served as the Camp Director. Chuck was instrumental in co-founding Hands Across the Border International Scouting exchange between Canada and the United States and also the 7th Oshawa Order of the Crown, honouring all King and Queen Scouts. For his especially distinguished service to scouting, Chuck was awarded one of the highest national honours by Scouts Canada, the Silver Acorn. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and also by the many men whose lives he so profoundly influenced during his service with Scouting.

BLYTH, Larrington Porter
August 27, 1930 - January 28, 2006 Larry was born in Vancouver, BC where he was raised by his mother, and father, a professional hockey player. They lived and travelled throughout the Pacific Northwest where Larry developed his love for the sea. At 16, he moved with his parents to his father's hometown of Esterhazy, SK before joining the Royal Canadian Navy in 1952. He met his wife Betty-Jean (Lunney) in Montreal and they married in Vancouver in 1957. In 1958, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving at the radar station of Senneterre, QC until 1963. He began work as an apprentice Electrician at GM in Oshawa in 1964 where he deeply enjoyed his work and friendships until his retirement in 1995 and served for many years as one of 50 professionally trained volunteers for COMRA Marine Rescue Association. Larry passed away gently, at home in his sleep, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, five children - Dan (Laura) of Brooklin; Jane (Richard) of Grimsby; Jon (Laurie) of Myrtle; Kristi (Wells) of Victoria, BC; Melissa (Nick) of Vancouver, BC; and nine grandsons - Ryan, Adam and Hayden Blyth; Jason, Brendan, Harrison and Carson Bond, Donovan Gaetz and Ashdin Wood. Larry will be greatly missed and remembered for his generous spirit, humour and wit, love of crosswords and Jeopardy, countless cookbooks and idle woodworking tools. Larry had a kind and gentle spirit and was loved by all who knew him. He will live on in the hearts and memories of his wife and children, and to those whom he opened up his heart and home as his extended family. Viewing Tuesday, January 31 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 79 Baldwin St., Brooklin Village Whitby. Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday, February 1, 1:00 p.m. at Brooklin United Church, Cassels Rd. W., Brooklin. Reception to follow at Brooklin Legion.
