Loving grandfather of Michael, Pamela, Cameron, Stephen, Craig, Stephanie, Lance, Tyler, Megan, Ashly and great-grandfather of Cody & Ryan. Dear brother of Irene Turner and the late Vern Jones. KOENIGER, Carole Anne
Suddenly at home in Whitby on Tuesday July 31, 2007 at the age of 69. Sadly missed by daughter Tracy Cunningham. Beloved grandmother to Sean, Tonya, Amy and Katie. Dearly missed by family members, Shawn Megill, Kaireen Cunningham, Don Cunningham, Irene Cunningham, Sharon Parish, brother Jack and sisters Shirley and Leslie. McNAMARA, Thomas (Bud)
Suddenly on Tuesday July 31, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband of the late Muriel McNamara (nee White). Loving father of Pat McNamara, Marie Hicks (Bob), Shirley Humphries (Bob), Tom McNamara, and Laura Kane (Paul). Devoted Pappa of Tina (Craig), Michael (Diane), Cheryl (Alex), Sean, Bryan, Rachel, John and Ryan. Survived by sister Joan Thompson. Predeceased by sisters Dorothy, Audrey, Teresa, Rita, Shirley and brother Jack. Bud served his country proudly in WWII with the Royal Canadian Artillery. He was also a long time employee of Canadian Pacific Express for 39 years. We will miss his wonderful sense of humour. Friends will be received at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas St. E. Whitby 905-668-3410 on Thursday August 2, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Service in the chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Lakefield Cemetery on Saturday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation in Bud's memory to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

TYCE, Sylvia
August 15, 1953 - July 31, 2007. After a 7 year battle with cancer, fought with dignity and grace, Sylvia, surrounded by her family and friends, passed away at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa. Sylvia was the beloved wife of Brian and devoted mother of Gregory and Jessica. She will be missed by her parents, Elisabeth and Karl Burkhardt and her older brother Tom (Mag). Daughter-in-law of Nancy Tyce and the late Dennis, sister-in-law of Anjie MacKay, Alan (Laura), Peter (Teri), Laurie Beaton (Michael), Sandy Jang, Neil (Heather) and Denise Cashley (Bruce). She will be missed by many nieces and nephews and her many special friends including Rhonda and "Edna" Deb. The family would like to recognize the wonderful care and support given to Sylvia and her family during this difficult time. We are grateful to doctors Devost and Wilke and Sylvia's co-workers at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa. Sylvia was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. Her dedication to her chosen profession of nursing helped many people over the years. Sylvia's sunny personality and amazing spirit has sustained us over the years, she will be missed by all. Family and friends will be received at the MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Rd. Whitby (just north of Hwy 2) 905-665-0600 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral mass to follow at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church (373 Simcoe St. S. just south of Olive Ave. Oshawa) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday August 2, 2007. Peacefully, on Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 89. Jack Bray, beloved husband of Ruth (nee Leach) of Port Perry. Loving father of Marilyn Bailey of Blackstock and Ron Bray and his wife Lynda of Port Perry. Loved grandfather of Sharon, Laurie, Janet, Steven, Paul, and Allan (deceased). Will be remembered by 9 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Stewart Bray and his wife June of Port Perry, Rita Cook of Whitby, Verna Attwood of Whitby, and Noreen Prouse of Bobcaygeon. Pre deceased by his brothers Harold Bray and Earle Bray, and his sisters Dorothy McDermott, Marjorie Bray, and Jean Lambe. The family of Jack Bray will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, McDermott-Panabaker Chapel , 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Wednesday, August 1st from 7 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, August 2nd at 11 a.m. with Reverend Elaine Sveet officiating. McDANIEL, Donald Robert
Age 55 years. Retiree of O.P.G. passed away suddenly at home Monday July 30th 2007. Beloved husband of Charlotte McDaniel. Dear father of Christopher & Brandon. Dear brother of Jim McDaniel & Judy McDaniel. He is survived by his aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews. A Memorial Gathering & Reception will be held at the Bowmanville Legion Hall, (Branch #178) 109 King St. E. on Sunday August 5th 2007 from 2-4 pm. WW11 Vet and retired GM south office employee. Suddenly at home on July 30th 2007. Donald in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Morris. Loving father of Dianne Fil (Gig) and Peter Morris. Loving grandfather of Bryan Fil (Jacquie) of Oshawa and Krista Heslop (Mark) of Burlington. Lovingly remembered by his great grandchildren Riley Fil, Ethan Fil, Maxwell Heslop and Wilson Heslop. Predeceased by his parents David and Louie May Morris, his sister Mildred Morris and brother Milton Morris. A memorial service will be held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Thursday August 2nd at 2.30 p.m with visitation 1 hour prior to service. DIXON, Elizabeth Jane
Elizabeth Dixon died on Saturday July 28th, 2007 at North York General Hospital at the age of 49 after a heroic, year-long battle against cancer. Liz is the beloved daughter of Jane Dixon and the late Angus Dixon, sister of Catherine and Michael. She was a teacher, an actress, a singer and a writer of songs and her vibrant spirit will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Our heartfelt thanks to the Oncology and Palliative Care Unit of the North York General Hospital for their dedication and compassionate care and to the Toronto Community Home-Care Team who made it possible for Liz to stay in her home with her beloved cat for as long as possible. The visitation and celebration of her life will be held at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King Street East, Oshawa, on Thursday August 2nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 194 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa on Friday August 3rd at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Arthritis Society of Canada, Philip Aziz Centre (hospice care) or a Charity of your choice.

Entered into rest at the South Lake Regional Hospital in Newmarket, on Saturday, July 28th, 2007. Joan Margaret Hill (nee Taylor), in her 60th year, was the beloved wife of John Hill of Uxbridge. Cherished daughter of Mildred and Lloyd Taylor of Uxbridge. Loving mother of Kirk & Susy Hill of Whitby and Kevin & Kim Hill of Manilla. Dearly remembered by three grandchildren, Brianna, Rachel and Reaghan. Dear sister of Douglas & Eva Taylor of Uxbridge. Dear daughter-in-law of Mary Stewart of Uxbridge. Dear aunt of Anthony, Jamie, Julie, Sharon and David. Predeceased by one sister Karen Taylor (1978). KRUITHOF, Henry Teunis
passed away peacefully at his home in Uxbridge on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at age 81. Henry beloved husband of the late Hendrika. Dear father of Mary, John, Rosa and Diana. POULIN, Jean-Luc Alcide
With great sadness we announce the death of Jean-Luc Poulin on Saturday, July 28th, 2007, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his wife and children, at the age of 67. Jean-Luc died of complications attendant upon the treatment necessary in the very unequal struggle against a brain tumour lymphoma. Jean-Luc was a devoted husband to Linda (Lye) and loving father of Jean-Louis (Aida) and Danielle (Randy). Grandpa to Christian and Matthew Tennant and Nicolas and Sebastien Poulin. Predeceased by his parents Lucienne Tourangeau (1993) and Jean-Louis Poulin (1942) and his stepfather Roland Cote (2007); older brother and mentor of Gerard Poulin (Lorraine), Claire Bourgeois (deceased) (Rheo), Jean-Noel Cote (Jeanne), Solange (Sally) Roy (Paul), Real Cote (Marj), Louis Cote, Louise Lebel (Tom), Michel Cote and Micheline Brasseur (Reg). Favourite uncle of at last count 52 nieces and nephews. A teacher of French par excellence at O'Neill Collegiate, Dunbarton H.S., Eastdale Collegiate and Lahr Secondary in Lahr, Germany. Jean-Luc was also French Co-ordinator for the Durham Board for four years. In his ten-year retirement he indulged his love of fishing and the outdoors, spending many happy hours catching pickerel on Lake Scugog. We wish to express our deepest thanks to Dr. Walter Chang, to surgeon Dr. Mark Bernstein, Drs. Cynthia Menard and Warren Mason of Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr Nicole Devost of Lakeridge Health Palliative Care, naturopaths Dr. Michael Smith, Dr. Ali Rahmanian and Dr. Sam Ashore, and to our spiritual mentor Heidi McBratney. Jean-Luc's favourite charity was St. Vincent de Paul. If you would prefer please make donations to the Charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
