II, Royal Canadian Artillery, retired from General Motors of Canada after 39 years of service, member of the Oshawa Lawn Bowling Club, usher at St. Gertrude’s Church) passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a brief illness at the Lakeridge Health – Oshawa on July 5th, 2007 in his 85th year. Tom, beloved husband of Lorraine. Dear father of Peter (Elaine) Bryant, the late Paul Bryant, Jo-Ann (the late Brian) Hayden. Cherished grandfather of Jason Bryant, Jennifer Bryant, Courtney Hayden, Brittani Bryant and Paul Bryant. Adored great grandfather of Tyler, Brianna and Hailey. Dear brother of Joyce and her husband Len Clapp. Tom’s companionship will be missed by Tucker, Harley, Muffin and Spazz. Beloved mother of Chantel Black and stepmother of Stacy and Andy Palmateer, Leah Douven and Lindsay and John Terzis. Sheri will be sadly missed by her 10 grandchildren, her brothers Brian (Lori), Brad and Randy Gilker (Laurie), her sister-in-law Ellie, her nieces Amie and Sarah-Jean and her nephews Dennis and Benjamin. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, (110 Dundas St. E., Whitby, ON, 905-668-3410). Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 7 in the chapel. Following service, light refreshments at the Royal Canadian Legion (Whitby). Interment at Resthaven Cemetery (2700 Kingston Rd., Scarborough). HNATIW, Tina Justina
Born 1934 in Winnipegosis, Manitoba. Beloved wife of Alex Hnatiw for 53 years. passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Dear mother of Diane and son John (Suzanne), grandmother to Alex, Michelle, Robbie, Aaron, and Jake. ister of Rose, Pat, John, Jean, Melvin, and Elmer. Predeceased by her parents Alex and Beatrice Stephishen, brothers Mike, Bill, George, Harry, Dallas, Walter, and sister Norma. Many thanks to Lakeridge Health Oshawa palliative care staff. Baba, you touched us with your kindness, patience, strength, and amazing grace. It was her wish that there was no funeral; family only. Cremation.

MARSTON, Jean
Peacefully, on July 4th, 2007 at Lakeridge Health - Bomanville, with her family by her side, Jean passed away in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Jeff Marston. Loving mother of Nancy; and Barry and his wife Joy. Devoted Nana to Ryan and Heather. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Fuller and the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor for truly outstanding care during our mom's stay. Private family services were held, but the family is grateful for any donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Diabetes Foundation or the Arthritis Society.

Dec. 20th 1931 – July 4th 2007. In his 76th year God took unto Himself his child, Peter Sikma, after a brave battle with cancer, peacefully at his home on Wednesday July 4th 2007. A precious husband to Jane Sikma for 48 years. Dear father to his 7 children, beloved Pake to 24 grandchildren. Father to: George & Donna Sikma, Julia & Rick Koopmans, Yolanda & Mitch VandenBerg, Tim & Joanne Sikma, Grace & Jim Pot, Howard & Arlene Sikma, Joyce & Andy vanBruinessen. Brother to : (Nel+) Peter & Rose Feddema, (Pier+) Rose & Ed Rusticus, Sonya & Klass Reitsma, (Tom+) Liz Sikma, Edna & Sjerp Vandermeer, John & Margaret Sikma, Betty & William Flikkema. His life was marked by his strong Christian faith, devotion to his church, unending support of Christian education, joy in farming & his love & concern for family. Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville, on Sunday July 8th 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Dear step-great grandfather of Taylor, Alyssa, and Carter. Predeceased by his brothers Arthur, Ernie and Ken. Dear brother in law of Bessie, Betty, Joanne, and Ramona. Tom is a longtime member of Northminster United Church and a former member of the church choir. A World War II Veteran – Pilot RCAF and Royal Navy. Retired Scouts Canada Executive in London, Galt and Oshawa. A Memorial Service will be held at Northminster United Church (Rossland & Simcoe) on Saturday July 7th at 2pm. Survived by his wife of 20 years Vera (Warren) and her children Beverly Gosling (Percy) and Clifton (Sylvia). Fondly loved and will be missed by his 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Previous employee of Duplate Glass, farmer, member of the Concordia Orchestra and avid golfer to his 91st year. The family of R.
