Michael (born in Glasgow, Scotland, WWII Veteran, Royal Navy and retired inspector from the Greater Manchester Police) – after a very short illness he lost the battle, on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in his 82nd year. John Stewart of Newcastle(Wilmot Creek). Loving Husband of Shirley (nee Burbidge) for 26 years and the late Margaret (nee Ashburn) for 34 years. Father of Michael and David of England. Grandfather of Nicholas, Louise and Samantha. Dear brother of Winnifred of Southhampton, England, and the Late Jean of Blackpool, England. Predeceased by his parents John Andrew Stewart and Winnifred Elizabeth Stewart. Friends may call at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Bowmanville (Corner of Church and Temperance) on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at 1 p.m. for an informal service to celebrate his life followed by a time of fellowship and refreshment in the church hall. Age 82 years. Went to be eternally with his Lord and Saviour at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Tuesday July 3, 2007.

Dear brother of Marinus, Willem and Gozewijn. Arrangements entrusted to THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville. WOLFENDEN, Beryl (nee O'Brien)
Peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday July 3, 2007 in her 87th year. Loving wife of the late John, best friend and mother of Beth, and her late son Gregg. Cherished Granny of Nikki, Derek, and Deanna, great-grandmother of Jade. Beryl was predeceased by her sisters Betty and Jeune. Family would like to extend a special thanks to her brother-in-law and friend Ken. amily will receive friends at the MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Rd. HODDENBAGH, John (Hans)
went home to be with the Lord peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital on Monday July 2, 2007, in his 81st year. Beloved husband and best friend to Wilma. Loving and devoted Dad to Paul (Bev), Hester (Ranjit McLelland), Mark (Kym), Luke (Brenda), Edward and Chris (Jodi). Will be fondly remembered by 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Caring brother to Wim (Paula), Emmy (Dick Groeneveld), Guus (Toni), pre-deceased by Henk (Rie) and Gerard. John will be fondly remembered by his extended family - brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. A funeral service will be held at Carruthers Creek Community Church on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beacon Bible Camp, Grace & Truth Retirement Homes or Rouge Valley Health System (Ajax Site) would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Peacefully with family by her side, Queen passed away at Extendicare (Health Care) on Monday, July 2nd, 2007. Wife of the late Bernard. McKENDRY, Ralph
(40 year employee of Bell Canada; Longtime member of Parkwood Lodge No. 695 A.F. & A.M., 35 year member of Oshawa Ski Club and Oshawa Tennis Club, and member of Mens Canadian Club of Bowmanville) Peacefully, after a brief illness on Monday, July 2, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Corp. Whitby. Ralph just celebrated his 81st birthday. Beloved husband of Mary Jane for 55 years. Loving father of Bob McKendry, and Lynn and her husband Dave Bell. Devoted “Papa” to Shawn Gemmell (Jenn Kingdon) and Jason Gemmell. Dear brother-in-law of Bob Jervis (Deborah) and Shirley Pryce and Peggy McKendry. Predeceased by his siblings. Daughter of Milton Samis ( 1880-1962) and Catherine Jane Cple ( 1882-1961) Wife of the late Morley Arnold Gilroy (1895- 1976) and married August 20, 1960. Sister of the late Edythe-1989 ( Ferguson-1983) Abernethy; late Frederick Milton - 1991 (Verna 1993) Samis; late Maggie Corsina Samis 2004; and the late Donald - 1996 (Alice- 1998) Samis. Loving Aunt of Ellen Van Blarcom, N.S.; Joyce Taylor, Bowmanville; Alexander and Shirley Abernethy, Woodville; Don and Donna Griffin, Enfield; Beverley and Terence Smith, Orillia; Albert and Diane Samis. B.C.; Stuart and May Samis, Bala and Milton and Caldon Samis, B.C. Step-Mother of Ferne (Alf) Olsen. Flesherton; George (Helen) Gilroy, Oshawa and the late Muriel (David) Beath; William (Shirley) Gilroy; Faye ( survived by Murray) Vise. Aunt of Sarah and Tabitha; Jason; Josh, Haley and Miranda; Victoria, Dana and Lisa; Emily, Owen and Grace; Brandon. Lynda will be greatly missed by the Henderson Family. HORACK, Margaret (Peg)
passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, on July 1, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Anton (Tony) Horack, dearest mother of Larry (and Cori), Bev (and Bill), loving gramma to Deanna (and Charley), Holley (and Todd) and Cam. For the past year Peg truly enjoyed being "GREAT" gramma to Brody. She will never be forgotten by her much loved brother Lloyd. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by brothers Lorne, Arnold, Jack, Gordie and sisters Violet, Evie, Pearl, Hazel and Winnie. Adored by everyone, a most giving soul, she's still waiting to win the lottery so she could give it all away. Visitation Wednesday, July 4, from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 12-1 p.m. at W.C. After a lengthy illness, on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 70. John Needham of Port Perry, beloved husband of the late Marilyn Johnson. Loved father of Tina, Tara, Chris, James, Jeff and Vera and grandfather of Brandon, Amber and Hayden. Dear brother of Joan, Betty, Laura, Ted, Rick, and brother-in-law of Sid Johnson, Marie Slute, Pauline Woodcock, Edith Johnson (deceased), Eddie Johnson (deceased), Rena and her husband Randy Rogerson, Albert Johnson (deceased), Esther Johnson (deceased), Kathy Johnson (deceased), and Richard Johnson. John will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. (long-time member of the Anglican Church) – peacefully after a lengthy illness, with her loving husband at her side, at Foster brooke Long Term Care Facility on Sunday, July 1, 2007, in her 65th year. Fran, best friend and dearly loved wife for 21 years of William (Bill) Pozer of Newcastle. Loving mother of Christine Thrussell of Oshawa, Shannon Thrussell of Toronto, and the late Geoffrey Thrussell. Step-mother of Kel Pozer. Survived by daughter-in-law Karen Thrussell and grandchildren Tyler and Sean. Dear sister of Mary and the late Daniel McWilliams, Ellen and her husband Harry Sullivan, Hannah Mezzabotta and her husband Henry, and Alexander Low. Sister-in-law of Heather Low and Edna and her husband Ron Poffenroth. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. It is with great sadness the Vero family. announces the passing of Crescenzia. Surrounded by her family with her loving husband by her side in Italy, Crescenzia lost her battle with Cancer on July 1st, 2007. She leaves behind her husband Giuseppe and step children Mariella Vero, Mimma Vero & Len Kleine & Family and Paul Vero & Family. Dear grandmother of Kieran. Crescenzia will be sadly missed by her many friends and family in Canada and Italy. A funeral mass was held on July 3rd in Grumo Appula Bari, Italy followed by Entombment in the Community Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, on Monday July 30th at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
