DEY, Angela
(past employee with G.M. Canada, Oshawa, member of the Newcastle Horticultural Society) after a courageous battle with cancer at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday, August 31, 2007, in her 49th year. Loving wife of Glen Wagar. Cherished mother of Montana Dey and Ericka and Drew Wagar. Daughter of Zory and Victoria Lesnick. Sister of Darlene (Michael Sullivan) and Zory (Cindy Lovelock and children Shelby and Jamie). Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St., S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Sunday, September 2, 2007 from 2 5 p.m. At the family s request there is to be no funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to N.O.C.A (National Ovarian Cancer Association).

REVEREND N.J. Gignac (PP)
Passed peacefully, wrapped in God's love, at the Houses of Providence in Toronto on Friday August 31, 2007, at the age of 87. Fr. Norbert was the son of the late Louis Gignac and Ephygenie Doucette of Penetanguishene, and was one of 16 siblings. He is survived by his beloved sister, Sister Mary Zelie (Helen) CSJ. Father is predeceased by 14 of his brothers and sisters. He will be deeply missed by his sisters-in-law Marie Gignac and Lillian Gignac and his many nieces and nephews. Father Gignac was an active priest in the Archdiocese of Toronto for 62 years. Upon his Ordination on May 26th, 1945, Father began his life long love of people and parishes. He served as Pastor at St. Patrick's, Markham and St. Mary's Victoria Harbour. As founding Pastor of Saint Mary of the People in Oshawa (1957) and Saint Joseph the Worker in Oshawa (1985) Father is lovingly remembered by so many lives that he touched in his work for the Lord. The family would like to thank the staff at the Houses of Providence Heath Care, the Archdiocese of Toronto and Anita for the compassionate care they gave him. Resting at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 1100 Mary Street North, Oshawa, Ontario on Monday September 3 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations in Father's memory can be made to the Rev. N.J. Gignac Bursary Fund, St. Augustine's Seminary, or to Share Life. Arrangements entrusted to the Paul O'Connor Funeral Home

HUGHSON, William (Bill) Errol
On Friday, August 31, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 86 years. Bill was the only child of the late Errol Brisbane and Gertrude (Wise) Hughson of Toronto. He is survived by his son Errol (Anne) of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and his daughter Maura of Bayshore Village, Brechin, Ontario. He leaves his grandsons, David, Peter and Matthew, all of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and his dear friend Stephanie of Ajax, Ontario. An all-round athlete, Bill's favourite sport was golf. As a golfer in Toronto, he won championships at Woodbine, St. Andrews and Glen Mar. In Daytona Beach, Florida he played the Spruce Creek Country Club, and was also a non-resident member of Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach - the home of The Players Championship and the famous 17th hole ''island green''. In the late 1980's while playing in a Pro-Am event that included P.G.A. members, Bill won the amateur portion of the event. Some of Bill's fondest memories are working in the Pro Shop with his buddy ''Al''. He served six years as a member of the R.C.N.V.R., entering as an ordinary seaman and rising to the rank of Lieutenant. He was Commanding Officer of H.M.C.S. Saguenay, and at the time of his discharge in 1946, he was Commanding Officer of H.M.C.S. Portage. He served in both the North Atlantic and the Aleutian Islands. We would like to thank Dr. David Ibsen, the staff at the Colonial Retirement Home, and the Palliative Care team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their care and compassion. Flowers are gratefully declined. The family would appreciate donations made in Bill's name to the Canadian Cancer Society.

McKINNON, Gladys Pearl (nee Melbourne)
passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31st, 2007 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa in her 88th year. She was loved and adored by her family and was the best Mom to Jacquie Hare (David) and Gladys Kerr (Alan); the best Grammy to Jody (John), Jeff (Michelle) and Dan (Jennifer); and the best Great Grammy to David, Matthew, Liam, Avery and Nolan. Predeceased by her husband John (Jack) McKinnon. Pearl was a special lady who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to staff at Carriage House, Whitby Dialysis Unit and 3F. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will follow at a later date.

NEWHOOK, Rodney Ellis
Peacefully on Friday, August 31st, 2007 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa, in his 50th year with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Lily. Loving father of Angela and Casey. Rodney (Newf) will be sadly missed by his many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, friends and his buddy Gilmour. Loved grandmother of Karen and her husband Darryl Linnington of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Tracy Doyle of New York and great grandmother of Meghan Linnington. Predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth and Christine, and her brothers Fredrick, Charles and Joseph. Sophie will be missed by her nephew Richard Miller of Caesarea. On August 30, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Centre Oshawa. Jean, loving and devoted wife of the late John ''Irish''. Dear mother of Marnie and her husband Wayne Barefoot, James and his wife Aline, and Moira Ellison. Cherished Grandma of Jennifer and her husband Brian Goddard, Natalie and her husband Brighton Watambwa, Shaun Ellison and Patrick Ellison. Jean will be missed by her many family and friends in Northern Ireland. Jean was an accomplished pianist. She was very proud to be involved in the founding / start of St. Timothy's Presbyterian Church in Ajax, where she served in many different capacities over the years. She was a current member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Whitby. The family will receive friends at the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (209 Cochrane Street, Whitby) on Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Peacefully at the P.R.H.C. on Thursday, August 30, 2007 in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of the late James Earl Kimball. Devoted mother of Carolyn, Steven, David, Thomas, Larry and Dianne. Dear father of Rita Betts (the late Art), Mary Jeffreys (Larry), Bill Pittens (Marianne), John Pittens (Brenda), Dorothy Spencer (Teg), Dianne Kerstens (John) and Tony Pittens (Rhonda). Predeceased by two daughters Maria and Joanne. Lovingly remembered by twenty-five grandchildren. Predeceased by granddaughter Ashley Pittens. Adored by seventeen great grandchildren. Survived by sister Anna of the Netherlands, and predeceased by sisters Tonia, Dora, Marie and Kay. Survived and sadly missed by her brothers and sisters Bella (George Pritchard), Jackie Jones, Mona (Gerald Robichaud), Donald (Thelma), Annie Jones(Denis), Maurice (Pierette). Greatly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law, George Kerr (Nina), Jacqueline (Seldon Hughes), Charles Kerr (Maxine), Joe Kerr (Betty). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her husband Dawson Kerr and her brothers Walter Jones and Arthur Jones. Fondly remembered by his brothers Stephen and Roger and by his many relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the W.C.
