Dear father of Lynn Ross of Oshawa, Diane Smithson of Courtice, James Smithson of Oshawa, and Michael Smithson and his wife Jodi of Oshawa. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Tawney, Lindsey, Drake, Jade, Mason, Cassandra, and Marlie. Dear brother of Charlie Smithson of Seattle Washington, Jack Smithson and his wife Laurie of Burlington, and the late Leonard. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday August 14, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Cremation. Loving father of Bette Stillman and her husband Ken of Keene, ON, John Broadbent and his wife Sandra, James Broadbent, all of Oshawa and the late Elinor Broadbent. Fondly remembered by ten grandchildren many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Brother of Aubrey Broadbent of Oshawa and the late Oren Broadbent, Edna Bice, Percy Broadbent, Albertha Vickery, Robert Broadbent, Arnold Broadbent, Velma Broadbent and William Broadbent. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. ELLIS, David Charles William
(Member of the American Quarter Horse Association; licensed horse trainer; member of the Canadian Pigeon Fanciers Association; 15 year parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption Church.) Peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at the age of 65. Loving husband of Judy for 44 years. Sadly missed by his devoted son David. He is survived by his eight brothers and sisters, his brothers-in-law Russell, Tony and Lorry, and sisters-in-law June, Sandy, and Lynn. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces Jenny, Sherry, Chrissy, his nephews Darren, Daryl, Tony, Kevin, Stephen, Lorry, Richard, and six great-nieces and nephews. TEMPLIN, Lee (nee Hare)
Peacefully passed away with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer at Lakeridge Health - Bowmanville on Tuesday, August 7th, 2007 in her 52nd year. Dearly beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Peter and Daniel. Dear daughter of Douglas Hare and predeceased by her mother Gwendolyn. Survived by her mother-in-law Elizabeth Templin and predeceased by her father-in-law Peter. Loving sister of Ron Hare (Lynne), Lynne Wood (Barry), John Hare (Donna) and Tracey Hare Connell (Stuart). Lee dedicated her life to supporting others through her work with Camp Tawingo, Senior Citizens, Durham YMCA, and the Durham branch of the Canadian Cancer Society as a volunteer coordinator. (Was a long time employee of General Motors). passed away peacefully at the Lakeridge Health - Bowmanville Hospital on Monday, August 6th, 2007 in his 89th year. Harry, beloved husband of Florence. Dear father of Roy Dimbleby and Lynne and her husband Marc Landry. Cherished granddad of Derek and Nicholas. Will be missed by family in England. A private family service was held. FOOTE, Harold
Peacefully at Uxbridge Hospital on August 6, 2007 in his 96th year. Husband to late wife Victoria, father to late Ronald Foote, Ruth Orr and June Buuck. Grandfather to the late Randy Foote, Lauralei Foote, Leslie Schmohl, Christine Buuck, Michelle Buuck and Lawrence Buuck. Survived by siblings Maisie Townsend, William Foote, Verena Pretty and Lois MacKinnon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation.

KERR, William “Bill”-
In his 70th year. passed away peacefully at the home of his family on August 6th, 2007. Beloved husband of Rita Kerr and cherished father of Natalie Khashmanian and Jim Kerr (Lisa). He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren Michael, Amanda, Tyler and Zachariah. He will be deeply missed by his brothers Gerald (Maureen), Jim (Anna), and sisters Susan (Peter), Mary (Tommy), Lilly (Tony) and Patricia. A Dedicated and loyal employee of IBM for over 25 years and a popular member of the Bowmanville Golf Club, the lasting impression he made on all he came in contact with will not soon be forgotten. MOORE, Edward (Ted) F.
Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in his 57th year on August 6, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Sharon. Dear son of the late Anita and Edward (Bud) and grandson of the late Ben and Ruth Birk. Loving father of Lisa and husband Billy and Linette and partner Dave. Loving stepfather and best friend to Carrie and husband Paul and Jennifer and partner Jamie. Dear brother of Carol and husband Larry. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Amanda, Christopher, Jessalyn, Bradley, Brandon, Billy, Zackary, Turner, Ricky and nephew Nicholas and nieces Sarah and Katie. Ted will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins and many other relatives and friends. NEILSON, Phyllis
(Formerly of Minden, Ontario) - Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa on Monday afternoon, August 6, 2007 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Eijler Johannes (Jack) Neilson and mother to Shirley Bossom (Albert) of Hamilton. Loving and much loved grandmother to Sandi Ackerblade (Doug) of Oshawa and Margo McLachlin (Ron) of Paris. Fondly remembered by her great grandchildren Philip and Jeremy (April) Revoy. Predeceased by her sisters Evelyn, Joyce and brothers Gordon & Murray. Foster mother to a great many children for over a period of twenty five years. Throughout her life, and up until her last breath, she maintained her wit and sense of humor (sometimes dry) and never gave up the opportunity to cradle a baby. She was always a hard worker and never afraid of a challenge, she will be greatly missed by a great many. Phyllis was never too old for a new adventure and in 1988 fulfilled her dream of living in her house in Minden. JOHNSTON, Dorothy Jean (nee Gallagher)
Widow of Kenneth (1967), passed away peacefully at Prince Edward Island on Sunday, August 5, 2007, in her 89th year. For the past eight years she happily resided in PEI with her daughter, Janis, and her family. Prior to that, Dorothy lived on Chamberlain St. in Peterborough for 55 years. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her children, Bob of Eaglby, Australia, Paul of Ottawa, Audrey Thompson of Toronto, and Janis Johnson (Gerald) of Hunter River, PEI. Dorothy was the proud and loving grandma of Carolyn Kierstead of Newmarket, Steve and Kate Johnston of Sydney, Australia, Amy and Laura Thompson of Toronto, Eric Johnson of Winnipeg, MN, Ian Johnson of Fernie, BC, and Kyle Johnson of Victoria, BC. It is with broken earthly hearts and joyous heavenly souls that we announce her passing on Sunday, August 05, 2007. In her 86th year, beloved wife of the late L. Archie Sutherland, and cherished mother of Marlane March, Lorraine Aitchison, Lee Smallwood, Deborah Foley, and Judy Stinchcombe. It is with heartfelt thanks we are grateful her prayers have been answered. Loretta was a gem. She was humble and humorous and quite a crafty card player. She was deeply devoted to her religion and had an unwavering love and admiration for her family. Loretta will be sorrowfully missed by her family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
