It is with great saddness our dearly loved mother Vivian Murphy, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 27, 2007 at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Murphy, loved sister of Eileen (Halifax), predeceased by brother Donald (Truro, NS) and his wife Rita. Loving mother of Gary (Ronalee), Donald (Delia), Lynne, David (Peggy), Nancy (Rod). A proud grandmother to Kelly (Rob), Julie (Iain),Shawn, Sandra (Darren), Matthew, Jonathan, Colleen, Leanne (Andrew), Heather, Jamie and five great grandchildren. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, Ontario, 905-668-3410 on Wednesday October 3, 2007 at 1:00pm. Internment of ashes to follow at GROVESIDE Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to a Charity of choice.

ROSE, Joan Olive
passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, September 27th, 2007 at the age of 66 years. Olive, beloved wife of Robert James Rose of 49 years. Dear mother of the late James (Joanne), Stephen (Julieanne), Doug (Sally) and Gwen. Cherished grandmother of Amanda, Amy, Kyle, Jobeth, Jessie, and Desmond. Adored great grandmother of Trent and Marissa. Will be missed by her siblings and extended families in both the Rozon and Rose clan along with close dear friends. You are the tie which holds us all together. Olive s family would like to mention all the wonderful cards and positive thoughts from all the Sweet Adelines. SHEPHERD, Elspeth (Elsie) Kerr
passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday September 27, 2007 at the age of 78. Loving wife of the late Bill Shepherd. Proud mother of Robert and Larry (Jeri). Devoted grandmother of Andrea (Andrew), Robert (Samantha), Shane, Shannon, and Sherri (Andrew). Devoted Great grandmother of Jonathon, Abigail, Alexander J, Alyssa, Shelby, Lyxis and Alexandria. Loving daughter of the late Hugh and Isabella Kerr. Elspeth will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa with service in the chapel on Monday October 1st at 11 a.m. Interment at Thornton Cemetery to follow. HARPER, Eileen
Age 75 years. passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville On Wednesday September 26th 2007. Beloved wife of Gerald (Gerry) Harper for 55 years. Dear mother of Barry & his wife Marie, Jeffrey & his wife Angela, Janice & her husband Peter Stroebel, and Kevin Harper. She will be sadly missed by all her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Eileen is survived by her mother-in-law Margaret Harper. Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville, on Friday Sept. 28th 2007 one hour prior to service time. Funeral Service will be held in our Chapel 1:30 pm. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations made to The C.N.I.B. or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

After a lengthy battle with heart disease on Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 at St. Michael s Hospital in his 74th year. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Doreen Jones. Loving father of Catherine Nemes, Kelly Jones-Johnston and her husband Barry and Alex Jones and his wife Nicola. Cherished Grandpa of Adam, Rebecca and Rachel. KENNEDY, Elizabeth 'Cookie' (nee Cook)
Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Bowmanville, on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. Elizabeth, in her 77th year. Wife of the late Norm Kennedy. Dear sister of Eileen Sheldrick and her husband Norman of Colborne, ON and the late Doris Cook. Fondly remembered aunt of Tom Sheldrick and his wife Pat of Bath, ON, Lyn Muzzin and her husband Bob of Fraserville, ON. Great-aunt of Cathy, Jenny, Jeff and Lauren and great-great-aunt of Anthony and Eric. Elizabeth began her nursing career in 1952 and did one year post-graduate work at St. Michael's Hospital in 1953; she then worked for 39 years at Oshawa General Hospital in the Operating Room from 1954-1993. A service will be held at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Salem Cemetery, Salem, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Elizabeth to the 'Oshawa Hospital Foundation' for the new Durham Regional Cancer Centre or to the Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated.

McLEISH, David
(October 23, 1934) It is with great sadness that the family announces Dave s sudden passing on Wednesday September 26, 2007. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (nee Fazackerley) in 1977. He will be lovingly missed by his children Wayne (Pat) of Oshawa, Debbie of British Columbia, Doug (Karen) of Peterborough, Cindy (Dave) of Oshawa, Lisa (Brent) of Brockville, and Verrall John of Oshawa. Dave will be fondly remembered by his sister Margaret (Alan) of Scarborough. He will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. At Foster brooke Long Term Care Facility with her family at her side, on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, after a courageous battle following injuries sustained in a car accident in 2006. Margaret, loving wife for 48 years of Ed of Wilmot Creek. Caring and devoted mother to Lori Prentice and Terry Aubrey, both of Oshawa. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Owen Sinclair, Emily Aubrey, Katelyn Sinclair, and Kyle Aubrey. Sister of Grant, Helen, Pat, Will, David, and the late Sharron. Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. Loving father of Penny (Erin), Pauline (Teddy) and Jeff (Lesley) and much loved Poppa of Wayde, Ebony, Tyler and Joshua. Predeceased by his parents Elsie and Floyd Beckett. Fondly remembered by his brother Garry (Sandra) and sister Marie (John) Stephenson and his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins and friends. HARVEY, Beryl Clare
Died September 24, 2007 at Rouge Valley Health Centre in Ajax at the age of 76. Many thanks for the gentle and caring treatment she received from the nurses and many other caregivers. Her family bids a loving goodbye -- her daughter, Kay Pritchard and her husband Ray of South Carolina and their boys Lee and Kirt; her daughter Jill Smith and her husband John of Ajax and her kids Jennifer, Sean and Cassandra (in Australia); her brother Ron Staughton in Calgary, her sister-in-law Connie and family in St. Petersburg, Florida and Hamilton, Ontario; her brother-in-law Jack and family in Wokingham, England. She will be sorely missed by all the Friends in the congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in Ajax, Pickering, Scarborough and Griffin, Georgia whom she loved so well. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 6 at 2:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on the corner of Liverpool and Finch in Pickering. All are welcome.

KOESTERS, Heinrich (Heinz)
passed away peacefully at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Monday, September 24, 2007, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Anne Marie for over 52 years. Loving father of Anneliese and her friend Fred Williams, Karl and his wife Mary and Peter and his wife Sandy. Proud opa of Joey, Katlin and Robert. "Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flowers; we will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind." Hettie was a faithful member of Simcoe Street United Church for over 70 years, treasurer of the UCW for over 30 years, and Astra Unit treasurer for 16 years.
