Suddenly at Beaverton on Saturday, September 22, 2007. Larry was the cherished son of Larry and Judy (Carleton) Avery of Beaverton. Dearly loved brother of Shannon (Brian) Inglis and Kaylee Avery of Beaverton. Grandson of Elsie Avery of Beaverton and the late Milford Avery and the late Charlotte and Grant Carleton. Larry will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A service to celebrate Larry's life will be held at the Presbyterian Church, 413 Simcoe Street (Durham Road 15), Beaverton on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 2 p.m.

SHELEMBA, Nikola “Nick”
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville on Saturday September 22, 2007 in his 79th year. Nick will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews Alex Shelemba (Debbie), Pauline Shelemba, Elaine Kyren (Doug) and Dave Shelemba, by his great nieces Kelly, Kristin, Julie, Ashley and Leeanna and by his great great niece Lexus. Predeceased by his brothers Ivan “John” and Mike. 1934 - 2007 (Served in the Canadian Army RCEME and former employee of the LCBO and former Vice President of OLBEU). Passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Rouge Valley Hospital, Ajax. Dear husband of 51 years to Helen. Much loved father of Michael and his wife Suzanne. Grandfather of Scott and Marc. Dear brother of Russell, Ethel Medland and Margaret Black. Predeceased by brothers Fred, Peter and sisters Winnie Bilton and Hazel Medland. Dear friend of David, Pauline and Matthew Smith. Will be missed by his nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses for their care and kindness. Loving son of Mary and the late Mel Cannon. Loved brother of Janet (Ken Rankin), Mary Cannon, Jackie (Ray Rankin), Kevin Cannon (deceased) (Cathy), Laura (John Watson), Johnnie Cannon (deceased), Melodie Cannon, Sheila Cannon and David Cannon (Sharry-Lynn). (Resident of The WynField, Oshawa; longtime member of the Durham District Real Estate Board) At Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday September 21, 2007. Marlow in his 89th year. Survived by his wife Helen of Oshawa, daughter Sharon Wilson (Bill) of Oshawa, son Wayne (Brenda) of Blackstock, grandchildren Lisa LaPorte (Chris) of Whitby, Andrea Wilson of St. Catharines, Melissa Gauly (Alex) of Burlington, Adam Hancock and John Hancock, both of Oshawa. Predeceased by his grandson David Marlow Hancock. Remembered by his great-grandchildren Devon and Sierra LaPorte. At Marlow’s request, his body has been donated to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. A memorial service will be held at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME Ltd., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 1:00 pm with reception to follow. Age 36 years. Passed away suddenly in Nova Scotia On Friday September 21st 2007. Beloved husband of Maryann. Remembered by stepchildren Melanie, Stephany and John. Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at his home in Whitby on Friday September 21, 2007 in his 76th year. Roland, beloved husband of Beatrice (nee Rogers). Loving father of Patricia Vanelli (Michael), Gerald (Diane), the late Sharon Bovay (Michael), David, Cathy Soule (Jim), Roland Jr., William, and Suzanne Reher (Bill). Proud Grandpa of 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his many relatives and friends. At Roland’s request, cremation will take place. PARKER, Andrew
Suddenly at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on September 21st, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. Andrew leaves behind his best friend and soul mate of 25 years, Amber, his loving son Andrew (Linda), sisters Norah and Caroline. He will be greatly missed by nephews Greig and Cameron and niece Sarah-Beth (Sadie). His wonderful personality and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. AYLESWORTH, Kathleen “Kay” May (nee Northcott)
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20th, 2007 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Harold R. (Slim) Aylesworth and daughter of the late James Edwin (Yank) and Voilet Northcott. Predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters. Survived by her sister Violet Szoldra; her sons Harold (wife Elizabeth) and William and daughter Judith Anne O’Reilly (husband Morris); her grandchildren Grant and James Aylesworth; Steven Kemp and Kara Aylesworth; and great grandchildren Taylor Kemp and Keona Bruton and many nieces and nephews. Kay spent her entire life in Oshawa and worked for almost 30 years as the Cafeteria Supervisor at Lakeridge Health Centre. Passed away with her family by her side at home in Fairview Lodge in Whitby on Thursday September 20, 2007. Peggy in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Edward Barassin. Dear mother of Jean Essery and her husband Al Sewell, Chris and her husband Gord Geer, Mike and his wife Marlene and Ted and his wife Penny. She will be truly missed by her grandchildren Terry Essery, Laurie Essery, Cindy Wilson, Sean Barassin, Stephanie Dick, Mark Barassin, Richard Barassin, Lisa Geer, Kyle Geer and her many great grandchildren. HAJNAL, Joseph F.
Passed away peacefully in Oshawa, ON, formerly from Kitchener, ON, surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 20th, 2007 in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Elisabeth (Zsóka) and sons Joe Jr. and his family and Tom and his family. Loving Grandfather of Amy, Shane, Jessike, Kyle and twin brothers, Mitchell and Garrett and many relatives in Toronto and Hungary. Joe graduated from the Institute of Geology and Mining Technology (1954) Hungary, all his life worked as Plant Engineer and in many diverse industries, retiring in 2000. Besides his regular jobs, his passion was the sport of Boxing and devoted all his spare time to coaching. He was a founding member of the Canadian Amateur Association (1968) and Boxing Ontario (1973) where he served (1973-1984) as director of Coaching during his tenure. Joe wrote and published many articles all related to the improvement in coaching and safety in boxing. One of these papers served as the basis for Level I and II Technical Manual. Besides many duties, Joe coached in club level in Kitchener and Oshawa to help young athletes achieve their goal to be Ontario and Canadian Champions and his best friend Fitzroy “The Whip” Vanderpool to a Canadian Professional Championship. In 2007 Joe was inducted into Ontario’s and into the Canadian Hall of Fame for all his contribution to Boxing in Canada. As per Joe’s wishes cremation has already taken place and a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at OSHAWA HUNGARIAN CULTURE CLUB, 64 Albany St., Oshawa, Ontario on Sunday, September 30th, 2007. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Charity of your choice can be made through OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234).
