passed away at Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville on Wednesday September 12th, 2007 in his 73rd year. Dearly loved husband of Euphemia (Anne) Joseph of Whitby. Much loved father of Lezlie Joseph Jr. and his wife Daphne Fernandes and Delphina and Sean Fogarty. Grandfather of Braedon, Camille and Liam. A memorial service will follow cremation. A Memorial Mass will be held on at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church 1148 Finch Ave. Pickering Thursday September 20th, at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 5295 Thickson Rd. COTTERILL, Brian
passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Markham Stouffville Hospital, in his 56th year. Brian was proud of his part as drummer of Abraham's Children, a popular rock band from 1971-1976. He successfully was self-employed for 30 years in the Garden Centre business in Agincourt and then in Uxbridge. Son of the late Ron and the late Rita Cotterill. He'll be so missed by his wife and soul-mate Ginny, his daughter Lindsay (Jason) Doherty, brother Bill (Karen) in Vancouver, and sister Sharon (Bill) Cotterill-Cook. Adoringly known as Poppa by his grandson Sam. He'll also be missed by his dog Buttercup. At Brian's request there will be no services held. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Research Fund.

McTIERNAN, Violet (nee Dubeau)
Taken away from us on Monday, September 10, 2007 at Lakeridge Health - Bowmanville at the age of 80 years old, her life was filled with many adventures; working at Eatons, known for her knitting and her caring personality. Will always be loved by her children Douglas McTiernan and Gale Duarte (David Brown). Lovingly adored by her grandchildren Kelly (Charity), Jody (Mandy), Kevin, Stefanie (Michael), Stephen and great grandchildren Jason, McKenzie, Jasmine and Carmen, and brother Aldie (Lucy) Dubeau. Cherished by her many nieces and nephews, godchildren and friends. Violet will be sadly missed by her loving companion over the last 10 years Robert (Bob) Gosse and his family; Frazer (Anne), Robin (Al), grandchildren Laurie (Ian), Adam, Stefanie and Cori, and great grandchild Sarah. BECKER, Zofia
passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the age of 69. Zofia Becker, dear mother of Donota Swiderski and Leszek Polchlopek. Zofia will be dearly missed by her only granddaughter Anna. Dear sister of Mary Byzyk and brother Stan Balicki. Zofia will also be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. GILBERT, Dianne C. (nee Gibson)
After a valiant battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Sunday, September 9th, 2007, in her 64th year. Dianne is survived by her loving husband and soul mate Mike Britton, and her daughters Debbie Fox (Rick), Cheryl Gilbert, Alison Gilbert, and stepdaughter Dawn Britton, and grandchildren Sarah and Ryan Fox. Predeceased by her parents Alec and Thelma Gibson. Remembered by her cousin George. Dianne was a very kind, caring, loving and compassionate person; member of the Beaver Bible Class; participated in the annual Beaver show as an usherette for 40 years; member of the West Hill One Parent Families Association; held many executive positions, including East Metro District Council President and Member of the National Executive. In November 1988 the O.P.F.A. bestowed upon Dianne its highest honour, an honourary lifetime membership. Dianne was president of the Whitby Civitan Club and chairperson of the Whitby Terry Fox Run for 10 years; and most recently active with the Dreamers Band at Wilmot Creek. Loving father of Dr. George and his wife Orysia, Paul and his wife Ola, Dr. Antony and his wife Natalie, Ihor and his wife Tania, Dr. Ala and her husband Dr. Kelly Smith. and grandfather of Andrew, Slavko, Ala, Peter, Maxsym, Simon, Zachary, Markian, and Luka. Predeceased by brother Anton and sister Taisa of Ukraine. A Special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Palliative Care at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. SHAW, Douglas Gerald
passed away after a short battle with Cancer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with his family by his side on Sunday September 9th, 2007. Doug will be sadly missed by his fianc Lorie Van Kuik. He was the loving father of Leeanne (Paul), Nicole (Dwayne) and Dougie Jr. (Shawna) and will be dearly missed by the Mother of his children and special friend Cathy Shaw. Cherished Popa of Brandon, Wesley, Justin, Elissa, Zachary and Jordan. Doug will be fondly remembered by his parents, Morris & Betty Shaw, Brothers Rick (Sandy), Dwayne (Brenda), Danny (Shelley) and Sister Liz (Ron). He will also be greatly missed by his nephews, nieces, Uncles, Aunts, cousins and multitude of friends. Many thanks to doctors, nurses and staff of Palliative Care at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. (Member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; long-time resident of Foster brooke Long Term Care Facility) suddenly on Sunday, September 9, 2007, while celebrating her 64th birthday. Ann, much loved wife for 38 years of Bill Wragg of Newcastle. Loving mother of Daniel and his wife Ren e of San Antonio, Texas, and Nancy Christina of Newcastle. Nanny to Hannah Faith. Sister of Jim Ritchie and missed by her cousin Gerry Leonard. Following cremation, friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. COLLINS, Lorraine Ruth (nee Hutchinson)
passed away on September 8, 2007 after a lengthy illness with family at her side at Winbourne Park Nursing Home, Ajax, Ontario. Lorraine was predeceased by husband Ivan, brother William and sister Myrna. Survived by her children John Raines (Sylvia) Ajax, Ralph Raines (Carole) Trenton, Paul Raines (Jane) Cambridge, Janet Peacock (Jeff) Monetville, Colin Perrin (Carol) Surrey, BC. Also survived by several Grandchildren and great Grandchildren. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Society would be appreciated by the family.

DOBBIN, Gwendolyn (Gwen)
passed away at home after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer on September 8th, 2007 at the age of 59. Fondly remembered by her loving husband Martin and her daughter Tammy (Scott) Shannon. Proud Nanna to Ryan. Lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters Ruth Curtis and Peter (Cathy) Norquay, as well as her in -laws Gwen Cple, Ann (Keith) Williams, Diane Dobbin, Bonnie Donovan, Michael Dobbin, Kristine (Scott) Dobbin, Sherene (Joe) Peckford, Tracey (Jason) Truman, Pamela Norquay and Jessica Norquay. Predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth Norquay, brother-in-law Patrick Dobbin and sister-in-law Colleen Dobbin. Will be forever missed by her friends and co-workers at Accenture Business Services and Enbridge Gas Distribution. Peacefully, on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Pine Meadow Nursing Home in Northbrook, at age 83. Elinor ''Lynne'' (nee Ingram), dearly loved wife of the late Bob Lindsay. Loved mother of Paul Lindsay, and Jan and her husband Mike Longo. Loving grandmother of Dave and Michelle Lindsay, Carly and Cindy Howard and Jennifer and Michelle Longo. Lynne was predeceased by her brothers Ralph, Bruce, Henry and Fred Ingram. McCABE, Lillian
At Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Saturday September 8, 2007, Lillian McCabe (nee Willoughby) at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Vincent. Loving mother of Patricia Buckley. Gone to be with all of her loving brothers and family. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Cindy Alford (Ric), Christopher Buckley (Colleen), Gregory Buckley (Annette) and Bradley Buckley; her great-grandchildren Shannon and Tanner Alford, Elyse and Jonathan Buckley, Samantha and Kate Buckley, and Zachary Buckley; and her great-great-grandchildren Harmony and Brady. PALLESKE, Wolfgang
After a courageous battle with cancer, he died on Saturday, September 8th, 2007, in his 80th year. He will be deeply missed by his 5 loving children; Antony, Loring, Heidi, Aurora and Wolfgang, his 12 wonderful grandchildren and all those who have had the pleasure of knowing him. Some of you may know him from his store Picture This in the Whitby mall or he might be remembered from working at John s Manville, or maybe you took a ski lesson from him at Dagmar. Which ever the case, he always put a smile on everyone s face with his great sense of humour. He fought for the environment and the wetlands, and so in lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the World Wildlife Fund would be appreciated. He also fought cancer so donations are also being accepted at the Canadian Cancer Society. Family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at St. Michael s Hospital and Lakeridge Health. (Long time employee of Mother Jackson's) Peacefully, after a struggle with ALS, on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg, at age 64. Carole (nee Greenly), beloved wife of the late Maurice Pelletier of Prince Albert. Loved mother of Michael Pelletier and his wife Dianne of Greenbank, Lisa Pelletier and Sean Fraser of Bowmanville, and Dawn and her husband Brian Sutherland of Seagrave. Dearly loved grandmother of Bailey Gould, Darrell and Laura Pelletier, and Caitlin and Spencer Sutherland. Survived by her sister Diane Smith and her friend Jake Radford of Campbellford, and Doug Greenly and his wife Wendy of Alderville. Dear sister-in-law of Dorothy and her husband James Smooker of Warkworth, Rose and her husband Ernest Philipiew of Oshawa, Claudia and her husband Robert Russell of Baltimore, Marie and her husband Bruce Marshman of Warkworth, and Marion and her husband William Carey of Cobourg. A Service to celebrate the life of Carole Pelletier will be held in the Greenbank United Church on Sunday, September 16th at 3 p.m. with Reverend Ross Carson officiating. Loving dad of Noreen and her husband Archie Bruce, Marilyn Sawyer, Glennice and her husband Lanny Rusnell and Donna Pottery and her partner Joe Forrest. Cherished grandpa of 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A special thanks to Rachel and all the nurses at the Winbourne Park Nursing Home for all of their loving care and support. They not only treated William as a patient but also as a family member. DOWHOLIS, William (Bill)
(loyal employee of General Motors for 33 years) unexpectedly, on Friday September 7, 2007, Bill passed away at the age of 79. Devoted and loving husband of 57 years to Clem and cherished Daddy to Tawnee and Randy Brown. Survived by siblings Mike Dowholis, Vicky Anderson, Bella Sanderson, Fred Dowholis (Angie), Verna Pippen, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by sisters Alice Dowholis and Mary Halek. In keeping with Bill s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held outdoors at his home on Saturday September 15, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Come as you are!
