SMITH, GEORGE KENNETH: A resident of Westbank for 32 years died of cancer on March, 31, 2003. A private family gathering will take place at a later date at which time his ashes will be accommodated. Donations in George's memory may be made to the Gellatly Nut Farm Restoration, 2475 Dobbin Road, Westbank, B.C., V4T 2E4 and would be greatly appreciated by the family as an expression of sympathy. TOMLINSON, MICHAELINE (TOMMY): passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2003 at the age of 75 years. Survived by her loving family: daughter Kim and son-in-law Bill East of Kelowna; two grandsons: Tim East of Ottawa and Tom East of Kelowna, as well as two step grandchildren: Andrea (Chris) Reddeman of Vancouver and Liam East of Saskatoon. Also surviving are many loving and supportive extended family. Born in Saskatoon, the youngest of nine, Tommy made Kelowna her home since 1962. She was a well known fixture at Kelowna General Hospital where she worked as a nursing supervisor for many years. Predeceased by husband Ralph in 1994, son Jack in 1981 and infant daughter Jackie in 1958. The family wishes to thank Tommy's many friends and colleagues for their tender support these past months. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 1:00p.m. from the chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road. HOLOIEN, BETTY passed away peacefully on April 12, 2003 at Douglas Fir amongst family. Born on July 12, 1932. ORLESKI, LENA MARY: Born in Bawlf, Alberta on December 21st, 1908 passed away in the Kelowna General Hospital on April 12th, 2003 in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband John in 1990, one son Laurie in 1954, three sisters and four brothers. Lena is survived by two sons: Kenneth of Kelowna and Keith (Kathy) of Williams Lake, B.C.; granddaughter Jenny (Damon) Johnson and great granddaughter Julia Johnson, all of Vernon, B.C.; brother Joe (Vera) Henkel of Bawlf, AB; two sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. PONICH, BERTHA known to many as 'Bert' peacefully went home on April 10, 2003 to be with her parents Frank and Tina Kornelson; husbands Roy Atkins (1979) and John Ponich (1991). Mom will forever be in the hearts of her children: Gary Atkins (Barb), Darlene Hargreaves (Rick), Sandra Tombe (Tim) and her 12 grandchildren. Rauser, Claus Dieter: July 18, 1958 - April 8, 2003. It is with deep regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of Claus due to a tragic accident in Russia. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his parents, Hugo and Anni Rauser of Armstrong, B.C.; brother Tom Rauser of Gabriola, B.C.; his sister Heidi Stockl and brother in law Bill Stockl of Edmonton, AB. He will be dearly missed by his niece, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles as well as many, many close and dear friends. He was a carpenter by trade and his adventurous spirit led him to distant lands where he did what he loved most in life - building dreams. Sanborn: Too soon gone, and sorely missed. Elizabeth Meeres Sanborn born August 18, 1965 died March 25, 2003. A private memorial was held last week at her home. She is survived by three children, three sisters and a brother. We will let her go, but she will never leave us.

SWETZ, DORA KAYE (NEE ADAM) suddenly left us to be with the Lord on April 11, 2003. Born in Canora, Saskatchewan March 6, 1925, Kaye was the daughter of John and Victoria Adam; she was raised in Gorlitz, Saskatchewan on the farm with fourteen brothers and sisters. Predeceased by her father John in 1959, mother Victoria in 1987 and brothers George, Mike, Bill, Fred, Nick, Dan and Ernie and sisters Ann, Helen, children Phyllis in 1962 and Albert in 1991. Kaye is survived by husband Peter Swetz; sons Larry (Bonnie); Ron (Vicki) and daughter/granddaughter Dana (Darcy); grandchildren David (September), Christopher (Cristina), Casey, Vance, Serena, Shaun (Corrina), Tanya, Terri, Crystal (Patrick) and Donavin; great grandchildren Sabastian, Alyssa, Tristen, Euphoria and Allison. Daughter-in-law Darlene. She is also survived by brothers Harry (Barbara) and Peter (Rose) and sisters Mary and Emma as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret Helen Reinholdt of Summerland, BC born in Didsbury, AB passed away peacefully in Penticton, BC on April 13, 2003 at the age of 68. Survived by her loving husband Paul, Daughters, Katherine Anne, Cynthia Faye, and Linda Helen all of Edmonton; Son, Howard Peter (Debra) of Calgary; 10 grandchildren; Brothers, Gerald (Millie) of Calgary, and Arthur (Darla) of Stavely; Sisters Lila and Phylis (Martin) both of Calgary. Sadly predeceased by her Father, Howard Cates. Margaret was actively involved in Boy Scouts, Girls Guides, Figure Skating, the Drop-In Center and the Hospital Auxiliary. Dickins, Theodore W. 1947 - 2003, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2003. Ted is survived by his loving parents, Edith and Ed Dickins, his sisters Carol Burns of Kamloops and Janice (Mike) Culos of Kelowna. He also leaves behind five nieces and nephews: Michael (Renee) and Cathy Burns of Kamloops, Michyl, Carla and Blake Culos of Kelowna. Also survived by his aunt Jean (Sanborn) Rankin and numerous cousins. Ted retired from School District in 2002 after 33 years of service. He was a BCD Army Cadet, an avid golfer, a past member of the Kelowna Pistol Club, a bowler and a pool enthusiast. Friends and family remember Ted as a gentle and decent human being. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to doctors Farquhar and Bouttell, and the members of the staff of 4B of Kelowna General Hospital. HARNETT, DOUG: It is with deep regret and sadness we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father James Douglas Harnett in Kelowna at the age of 67. Doug's last day was spent doing what he loved best, working on his cabin at Dee Lake and later watching the Canucks hockey game with his son.
