Catherine Mary Sears
March 17, 1939 - April 11, 2001
The death of Catherine Sears, age 62, of Sackville, occurred Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Sackville she was a daughter of Femina (Boudreau) Bourque and the late Patrick Bourque.
Catherine was a 15 year employee with the Sackville Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Vincent's Church, Sackville and a square dancer belonging to the Tantramar Twirlers Square Dancers.
Catherine will be sadly missed by her mother Femina Bourque of Sackville, her son; Danny (Haidee), and daughter Melissa (Robert) Cormier both of Sackville, 4 brothers, Ronald (Anita) of Moncton, Robert (Linda), Charles (Heather), and Yvon (Charlene) all of Sackville, 2 sisters; Mary (Alex) Chase of Sackville, and Jeanne (Wade) Cook of Toronto, and 3 grandchildren; Samuel, Jordan and Benjamin.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Saturday from 7 to 9 PM and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville on Monday, April 16, 2001 at 11 AM, Father Jeff Doucette officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. All are invited to a prayer vigil at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:30 PM.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

Randall Clyde Sears
March 29, 1962 - February 12, 2001
The death of Randall (Randy) Sears, age 38 of Sackville occurred suddenly at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 12, 2001.
Born in Sackville he was a son of Ernest and Gwen (Gulliver) Sears.
Randy was a graduate of Tantramar Regional High School and Mount Allison University. He was a controller with SGCI Communications Inc., Sackville, and was formerly employed with the Atlantic Wholesalers. He was a 15 year veteran of the Sackville Volunteer Fire Dept., and an associate member of the Sackville Branch #26 Royal Canadian Legion. He was actively interested in sports.
Randy will be sadly missed by his parents Ernest and Gwen Sears, Sackville, a brother Brian (Norma), Wood Point, 2 sisters, Karen Sears, Westcock and Rhonda Sears, Halifax, a niece Jessica, 2 nephews, Justin and Jordan, several aunts and uncles.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visiting hours Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Sackville United Church on Thursday, February 15, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the Sackville Fire Dept., the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

Ben Sears
November 4, 1988 - February 12, 2002
The death of Ben Sears, age 13, of Sackville, occurred suddenly at his home on Tuesday, February 12, 2002.
Beloved son of Wanda Sears, he was born in Moncton on November 4, 1988. He was a grade 7 student at Marshview Middle School. He loved to go biking and fishing, and was known for being helpful and having a big heart.
In addition to his mother, he will be sadly missed by his brother Scott at home, his maternal grandparents Claire and Cedric Sears, Sackville, paternal grandmother Beatrice Leblanc, Little Cape, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, Sackville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A Vigil will be held Thursday at 8:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 15, 2002 at 11 am at St. Vincent's RC Church, Rev. Father Phil Mulligan officiating. Burial at a later date.

Frederic Leonard Rutledge
April 22, 2001
The death of Fred Rutledge, age 70, of Port Elgin occured suddenly at the Moncton City Hospital on Sunday, April 22, 2001.
Born in Dorchester, he was a son of the late Edward and Olivia (Tucker) Rutledge.
A former employee of the Department of Foreign Affairs , he was an embassy aid in Ottawa and New York. He served 5 years in the Canadian Navy.
Fred is survived by 2 brothers, Ronald (Thelma Lucci), Port Elgin and Wendell, Lombardy, ON, 2 sisters, Marjorie (Owen) Evans, Dollard des Ormeaux, PQ and Marie (Grady) Barker, Cooper Landing, Alaska, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Douglas, Chester and Vincent and a sister Irene.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, (364-1300) with visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at 11 AM. Burial in the Amherst Cemetery later in the spring.
Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

Maurice Babylas Renaud
1913 - 2001
The death of Maurice Renaud occurred at the Moncton, NB George Dumont Hospital on Sunday, April 29, 2001.
He was predeceased by his wife Charlotte (Gutthoff) of 47 years, a daughter Charlotte Marie, he was also predeceased by a sister Anne Marie (Avril).
Born in Les Sables d'Olonnes, France, he was the son of the Late Edward and Marie (Tesson) Renaud.
A veteran of World War II in the French Navy. He was a mechanic at the Iron Company of Canada in Sept-Iles Quebec where he retired at the age of 65.
Maurice will be sadly missed by his children Christiane (Lemenan) Sept-Iles Quebec, Albert Renaud, Keswick Ontario, Mauricette (Hiscock) Thompson Manitoba, Jacqueline (MacNichol) Dorchester New Brunswick, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a sister Marguerite (Guyot).
His remains will be brought to Sept-Iles, Quebec so that he may be buried beside his Beloved wife on the 30 June 2001.

Allan Fitton
April 17, 1908 - April 7, 2001
The death of Allan Fitton, age 92 of Sackville and formerly of Montreal.
Born in Cheshire, England, he was a son of the Late Samuel and Ellen (Jardine) Fitton.
Imigrating to Montreal, QC on June 1, 1929, he lived there until 1989. Formerly employed with Canadair as an aircraft mechanic/foreman. He was a member of Victory Masonic Lodge #94 F & AM, the Royal Arch Chapter, Mr. Lebanon #20, the Melita Perceptory, Montreal Consistory 32nd degree Karnak Shriners. He was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Sackville.
Allan will be sadly missed by his half-brother Harry (Beryl) Fitton, England, a niece, Debbie Wood, Riverview, NB and a nephew Robert (Helen) Handley, Amherst, NS, grandnieces and nephews, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Ryan and Gillian. He was predeceased by 2 wives, Matilda Riley and Lillian Robertson.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation. There will be no visitation. Burial will be held in the Montreal Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Ina Ashe
May 23, 1918 - April 26, 2001
The death of Ina Ashe, age 82, widow of Ernest (Bus) Ashe, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 26, 2001.
Born in Sackville she was a daughter of the Late Edgar and Obeline (Doiron) Leblanc.She was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She was formerly worked for many years at Henderson Drug Store and the Corner Drug store, Sackville.
She is survived by a daughter Joyce (Charles) Cormier, Sackville, a granddaughter Chantal (Stuart Crossman) Cormier, Sackville, a sister, Mary Crowder, Sackville and a brother Robert (Joan) Leblanc, Moncton. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest (Bus) Ashe in 1997, a sister Beatrice and brothers Fred, George, Arthur and Donald.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., (364-1300) Sackville, with visiting hours Saturday 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville , on Monday, April 30, 2001 at 11 AM, Rev. Father Jeff Doucette officiating. All are invited to a prayer vigil at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 8:30. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery.

Rosslynn (Lynn) Andrews
April 21, 1952 - April 4, 2001
The death of Rosslynn (Lynn) Andrews, age 48, of Sackville occurred following a lengthy illness on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Sydney, NS, she was a daughter of the Late Ross and Marjorie (Jordan) Andrews.
A 30 year employee with the Royal Bank of Canada, she was an animal lover and horseowner. She was a member of the Baie Verte Pony Club and various other organizations
Lynn will be sadly missed by 2 brothers, Bill (Kathy) Andrews, Sackville and Todd Andrews, Banff, AB, a nephew, Ross and a niece Karla, 2 aunts, Evelyn Spencer, and Roberta Jordan, both of Sydney, NS, and an uncle Sydney (Jean) Jordan of Ontario.
There will be no visitation, Lynn's remains have been forwarded for cremation. A memorial service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery at a later date.
Friends are invited to the memorial service followed by a time of fellowship in the reception room of the Jones Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

Fred Henry Amos
1918 - 2001
The death of Fred Amos, age 82 of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 9, 2001.
Born in Second Westcock, he was a son of the Late Henry and Grace (Wheaton) Amos.
A veteran of World War II he was a carpenter for many years working on numerous projects in the Sackville and Moncton area. He retired from the Dorchester Penitentiary at the age of 70.
The last surviving member of his immediate family Fred will be sadly missed by his children, Pat (Greg) Estabrooks, Dave (Linda), Al (Jean), Brian (Linda), Debbie (Ralph Mitton), Kathy (Jamie Robinson) all of Sackville, and Gary (Kim) of Oshawa, ON , 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a life-long friend Harry Chambers.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Shirley (Scott) , an infant son and a daughter Judith Lynn, he was also predeceased by a sister Eliza (Cummings) and a brother Floyd.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Main Street Baptist Church on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at 2 PM. Rev. Barry Todd and Pastor Hugh Davidson officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.
Donations to the Main Street Baptist Church, Bob Edgett's Boy's Club or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

Howard G. Throop
1915 - 2001
The death of Howard G. Throop, age 85 of Stephens Dr, Sackville occurred on Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Point De Bute, NB, he was a son of the late Albert and Ethel (Lewis) Throop.
A lifelong mechanic and machinist he was a former service manager with Lounsbury Company in Sackville retiring in 1982. Howard was owner/operator of Marshview Trailer Park, and a member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville.
Howard will be sadly missed by sons; Ludger (Irene), Norman (Joyce), Roger (Joan) all of Sackville, 5 daughters; Delia Bates of Bowmanville, ON, Evangeline Lirette of Scoudouc, Rosella Nadeau of Waterloo, QC, Roberta (Louis) Collins of St. Leolin, NB, and Jeannette (John) Strang of Sackville, 2 brothers; Fred (Doreen) of Chiliwack, BC, and Albert (Matilda) of Norway House, MN, 2 sisters; Thelma Williams of White Rock, BC, and Frances (George) Orbean, Vancouver, BC, 37 grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Hedwidge (Landry) in 1992, 3 brothers; Edgar, Leroy and Edmund and 3 great grandchildren.
The remains are resting Wednesday from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300). A prayer vigil will be held at the funeral home on Thursday night at 8:30, all are invited. A celebration of the mass will be held at St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, June 1, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Father Jeff Doucette officiating. Burial will follow in the parish Cemetery.

Marjory Lucy Cple
December 4, 1918 - May 15, 2001
The death of Marjory Cple, age 82, of Jolicure, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, May 15, 2001.
Born in Whitney, Oxfordshire, England she was a daughter of the Late James and Marjory (Bennett) Baughan.
Marjory attended Jolicure United Church and the Jolicure Women's Institute.
Marjory will be sadly missed by her daughter Marcia (Brian) Bowser, Moncton, 2 sons, Ross (Valerie) Cple, Point de Bute and Hollis (Dianne) Cple, Fredericton, a step-son, Marshall Cple, Dorchester, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Graham Cple in 1975 and by 4 brothers, Jim, John, Alf and Ben and by a sister Janette
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, with visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 18, 2001 at 2 PM, with a reception to follow. Burial in the Point de Bute Cemetery.

Joseph Gerard "Jerry" Boudreau
1923 - 2001
The death of Gerard "Jerry" Boudreau, age 78 of Dorchester, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Cap Pele, NB and raised by his grandparents, Dominique and Marie (Donelle) Boudreau, he was a son of the Late Claudia Boudreau-Leblanc.
A pipe fitter and maintenance man, he retired to Dorchester after living in Scarborough, ON for 30 years. He was a member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville. A veteran of World War II, he served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders, Canadian Army in Canada and Great Britain. He was a member of the Dorchester Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Jerry will be sadly missed by his daughter, Darlene (Dana) Holmes, Dorchester, his companion Margaret Madder, Dorchester, 2 brothers, Aurele (Peggy) Leblanc, Moncton, and Joe (Bernadette) Leblanc, Saint John, a sister Theresa (John) Garrett, North Bay, ON, 3 grandchildren, Miranda, Charles and Alan Dawson, all of Dorchester, his first wife Winnifred Bernard, Sackville, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his second wife May Wilson and his sister Clementine.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300) with visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Dorchester Branch # 16 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a memorial service Monday at 7:30. All are invited to a prayer vigil at the funeral home Monday at 8:30 conducted by Father Jeff Doucette. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at 11 AM. Burial in the St. Edward's Parish Cemetery, Dorchester.

Garfield Wilson
August 31, 1921 - February 9, 2001
The death of Garfield Wilson, age 79 of Dorchester, occurred suddenly at his home on Friday, February 9, 2001.
Born in Moncton he was a son of the Late Roy and Laura May (Wilbur) Wilson.
Garfield served with the RCAF during World War II in Europe. He was a former employee of Corrections Canada, serving from 1947 - 1976. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Garfield will be sadly missed by his wife the former Rhoda McFadden of Dorchester, a son, Stephen (Arene) Wilson, Cap Pele, NB, a daughter, Dianne Anderson of Dorchester, 2 sisters, Dorothy Horsman, Moncton and Rita (Reginald) Horsman, Steeves Mountain, 2 grandchildren, Duane and David (Krista) Anderson and 3 great grandchildren, Carolyn, Nicholas and Stephen, also a sister-in-law, Anita Wilson of Dieppe, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Sharon in 1948 and a brother Robert in 1994.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Sunday, February 11 from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 12, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Rick Marsters officiating. Burial in the Dorchester Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the NB Lung Association greatly appreciated.

Willis Goodwin
February 13, 2001
The death of Willis Goodwin, age 78 of Baie Verte, NB occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 13, 2001.
Born in Coburg, NB he was a son of the Late Clarence and Alice (Goodwin) Goodwin.
A former employee of General Motors in Oshawa, ON , he worked as a stone mason after returning to the Maritimes in 1964.
Willis is survived by 2 daughters, Debbie (Gerald) Goodwin, Baie Verte and Ella (John) Raaphorst of Bowmanville, ON, a brother Bob of Coburg, 2 sisters, Audrey Beal, Port Hope, ON and Rhoda (Andy) Macdonald, Coburg, ON, 4 grandchildren, Travis, Cindy, Kevin and Dale and 2 great grandchildren, Crystal and Kym. He was predeceased by his wife the former Hilda Sprague in 1997 and a son Albert in 1997.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) with visiting hours Thursday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 16, 2001 at 2 PM. Rev. Stephen McAllister officiating. Burial in the Baie Verte Cemetery in the spring.

Owen Goodwin
November 4, 1949 - February 22, 2001
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Owen Goodwin, age 51, of Baie Verte, announce his passing at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 22, 2001
Born in Sackville on November 4, 1949, he was a son of George Goodwin and the late Dora (Anderson ) Goodwin
An employee of the Province of New Brunswick, he worked with the Dept of Transportation for 19 years.
In addition to his father George Goodwin of Baie Verte, Owen will be sadly missed by his wife, Rosemary Goodwin of Baie Verte, a son, Anthony Goodwin of Baie Verte; 2 daughters, Tracy Douthwright of Port Elgin and Julie Goodwin of Baie Verte; 2 brothers Bliss (Jeannette) Goodwin, Ralph (Kathy) Goodwin all of Baie Verte; 3 grandchildren Tony, Brittany and Dylan.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation, there will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) on Monday, February 26, 2001 at 1 PM, Rev. Stephen McAllister officiating. Burial in the Baie Verte Cemetery in the spring. Donatons to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
