Stafford Charles Flieger
Stafford Charles Flieger passed away in the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on February 7, 2001. He was born in Chatham, NB, the son of the late Stanley and Ethel (England) Flieger.
He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the North Shore and Carleton York Regiments in Canada and Europe. He is deeply mourned by sisters Ellen Kilbride, Nina Cassidy and Edith Molyneux, and brother Donald Flieger; also nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister E. Marguerite Matheson, two brothers, Edward and Arthur.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held in Miramichi, NB at a later date. McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

M. Perley Estey
The death of M. Perley Estey of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday, August 6th, 2002. Born in Fredericton, NB the son of the late J. Murray and Blanche (Perley) Estey, the husband of Phyllis (Fox) Estey.
Survived by his wife, Phyllis, three sons, David (Louise) of Scotchtown, NB, Paul (Cara) of New Maryland, NB and Eric (Angela) of Edmonton, AB; one daughter, Elaine Nevison (Ken) of Mississauga, ON; grandchildren, Stephanie, Janis, and Jennifer Nevison, Laura, Craig and Carlen Estey, David and Taylor Kidney; two sisters, Margaret Whalen (Richard) of Ottawa, ON and Barbara Archibald (Donald) of Miramichi, NB; one uncle Lloyd Perley, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton on Thursday, August 8th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will take place at St. Paul s United Church on Friday, August 9th, at 2:00 PM. For those who wish memorial tributes made to the charity of the donor s choice.

Ida A. (McCutcheon) Estabrooks
1906 - 2002
Ida A (McCutcheon) Estabrooks, wife of the late Claude Estabrooks of Coldstream, NB, passed away on May 25, 2002 at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Born October 30, 1906 in Kiersteadville, NB, Ida was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Janet (Bates) McCutcheon.
Ida was predeceased by two brothers, Robert (Myrtle) and Lawrence (Pauline) McCutcheon and a sister Mary (Frederick) DeLong.
She is survived by nieces Edna (Robert) Hamilton, Ottawa, Ontario; Mary McCutcheon, Montreal, Quebec; Margaret Murphy, Toronto, Ontario; Barbara (Ian) Millar, Truro, NS and nephews Dale McCutcheon, Montreal, Quebec; Robert (Dianne) DeLong, Calgary, Alberta; Gerald (Joyce) Estabrooks, Fredericton, NB.
Ida was a graduate of the Provincial Normal School and Acadia University and pursued studies in Christian Education at Gordon College in Boston for one year. A teaching career took her to schools in Grand Manan, Gagetown, Canterbury, Moncton and Saint John from where she retired in 1966. Ida maintained a life long commitment to church endeavors especially the work of the United Baptist Missionary Union of Atlantic Canada where her leadership skills are remembered with deep appreciation.
There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 11:30 am at Brunswick Street Baptist Church, York Street, Fredericton, NB. The service will be followed by a reception at the church and Interment at 3:30 pm in the Coldstream Cemetery, Coldstream, NB. McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Henry Cecil Doyle
June 2, 2001
Henry Cecil Doyle died peacefully at the DVA Veterans Unit where he has lived for the last three years on Saturday, June 2nd, 2001. Husband of the late Alice (Dever) Doyle.
Cecil served overseas with the North Shore Regiment and worked for the provincial government until his retirement in 1978. He was a longtime member of St. Dunstan s Roman Catholic Church, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4.
Survived by his children; Mary McIllwraith (Tom) of Halifax, NS, Anne Doyle, Harry Doyle (Jane), Joan Doyle Green, all of Fredericton, Elizabeth Doyle (Denis Gosselin), of Quebec City, and special niece Patti McManus Parker (Doug) of Saint John, NB and their children; Saxon and Norah Parker, and grandchildren; Angus and Eileen McIllwraith, Jenny, Mitchell and Daniel Peters, Stephen and Joseph Doyle, John, Michael, Sarah and Katie Green, Natalie, Mathieu, Sonia and Philippe Doyle Gosselin, and one brother; Edgar Doyle, of Ottawa, Ontario, two sisters; Kathleen Beaton, of Moncton, NB, and Joan Swenson (Bob), of Ottawa, Ontario, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at McAdams Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, June 4th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service at funeral home on Monday evening at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 5th, at 12:05 PM at St. Dunstan s Roman Catholic Church, with Monsignor Brian Henneberry VG officiating. Interment will be in Hermitage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made to charity of donor s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Dickenson, Elizabeth H.
January 19, 2001
The death of Elizabeth H. Dickenson occurred on January 19th, 2001 at the Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton. Born in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Christina (MacPherson) MacKenzie, and wife of the late Benjamin Dickenson. Survived by her daughter, Jean Coughlin of Fredericton, one son Douglas Dickenson of Montreal, three grandchildren, Wendy Gatza of Fredericton, Rick Coughlin of Fredericton and Doug Coughlin of Edmonton, Alberta, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Janet Sawers of Montreal and Mary Butler of Ottawa. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. A memorial service will be held at the Smythe Street Cathedral, Fredericton on
Tuesday, January 23rd, at 4:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date in Montreal. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pamela Jane Boone (Wry) Daye, R.N.
The death of Pamela Daye occurred unexpectedly after a short illness on Saturday, September 29th, 2001 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Halifax, NS. Born in Saint John, NB, Jan. 29, 1948, she was the beloved wife of Dr. Peter G. Daye and daughter of the late Major George and Violette Y.M. (Boone) Wry.
She is survived by her husband Peter, daughter Rebecca (Becky), son Tony, all of Fredericton, NB, sister Delores Wadleigh of Saint John, NB and several extended relatives.
Pamela was the last graduate of the last graduating class (1972) from the former Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing. She was an OR nurse at the DECRH.
Visitation will take place at McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 3th, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4th, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Christ Church Parish Church, Westmorland St. with the Ven. John Sharpe officiating. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Mark Louis Dasset
The death of Mark Louis Dasset of Nevers Road, Lincoln occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on October 13th, 2001. Born in Minto, NB he was the son of the late Alphonse and Antionette (Masy) Dasset. Mark is survived by his wife Constance , two daughters; Sherry Atwin (Kieth) and Dale Dasset of Rusagonis, two sons Andy Dasset of Fredericton and Kim Dasset (Wanda) of Oromocto, four grandchildren; Mandy Dasset, Krissy Atwin, Trevor Dasset and Jenny Atwin, one brother Joe Dasset of Newcastle Bridge, one sister Mary Patris of Newcastle Bridge and nieces and nepews. Predeceased by his parents and one brother Alphonse Dasset Jr.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. A memorial service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 20th at 2:00 PM. Speaker will be Dennis Johnston. Ralph (Addison) Craig
The death of Ralph (Addison) Craig of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Saturday June 29, 2002 after a lengthy illness. He was a member of the Devon Park Baptist Church. He was a member of the Marysville Y s Men Club. He is survived by his wife Ida (Grant) Craig his 9 Children, Tim (Cindy Hull) Craig of Lantz NS, Kenneth Craig of Fredericton, Jeff (Vickey) Craig of Cornwall P.E.I., Janet (Tim MacAskill) Craig of Elmsdale NS, Susan (Gary) Salisbury of Tilbury Ont, Stephen (Kathy) Craig of Waasis NB, Ross (Darlene) Craig of Dartmouth NS, Helen (Malcolm) McArthur of Tay Creek NB, Lois (Randy) Edwards of Fredericton. He is also survived by his 17 Grandchildren and his sister Bayna (Ronald) Goodspeed of Fredericton. He is predeceased by his parents Ralph Craig and Louise (O Donnell) Craig, his brother Robert and his infant Grandson Joshua Craig.
Visitation will be held at McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home, with visiting hours Tuesday, July 2, 2002 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Memorial service will be held from J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Ralph Irving officiating.

Eva May Coburn
The death of Eva Coburn occurred on Thursday, April 26th, 2001 at York Manor Nursing Home. She was 94 years old. Born in Ripples, NB, she was the wife of the late Ernest Coburn and daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Fulton) Lunergan.
Eva was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Celestial Chapter #3 for over 50 years and was also the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by son-in law Allan, step-son: Neil, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers, sisters and four children: Robert, Helen, Don and Eleanor.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28th,2001 at 11:00 AM at McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, Fredericton, NB. with Peter Somerville officiating. A tribute service will be held by members of the Order of the Eastern Star Celestial Chapter #3 immediately following the memorial service. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date.

Fenton Burke
1941 - 2001
Fenton Burke died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan 10, 2001. Born June 13, 1941, New Waterford, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Lucy (Mahan) Burke and the late Frank Burke of Ling Street, New Waterford. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Fraser. He is survived by his wife Norma (Neilson) formerly of Glace Bay, his three children : David, Melanie and Lucy and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A former member of St. Agnes Parish, he attended Xavier College in Sydney, St. F.X. and UNB. He served as a lieutenant in the COTC in Shilo, Manitoba. For the past 38 years he taught at St. Thomas University, two years in Chatham and 36 years in Fredericton. He was an associate professor of English, past Chair of the department and past President of the Faculty Association. Professor Burke served on numerous university committees including the University Senate and Board of Governors; he was also assistant registrar for many years, faculty advisor for athletics and an editor of The Nashwaak Review. He was a founding member of Chimo in Fredericton, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9496, Lincoln. The family will receive visitors at McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton from 7-9 PM on Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday. The funeral mass will celebrated at St. Dunstan s Catholic Church on Saturday, January 13th at 12:05 PM. Msgr. Brian Henneberry VG will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.

Anna Bourque
The death of Anna Bourque occurred at home on Monday, March 18th, 2002. Born in Barkers Point, NB she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mildred (Donovan) Dinsmore and wife to the late Arthur Joseph Bourque.
Anna was a devoted disciple of Jesus and his mother Mary. She was active in the St. Francis of Assisi community as a Eucharist Minister, member of the CWL and ministered to the sick at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Her family will always remember her for her humour, terrific memory, friendliness to others, delicious cooking and total devotion.
Surviving are children, Peter (Georgina) of Fort McMurray, AB, Gregory (Deborah) of Calgary, AB, Karen-Anne Hemingway (Allan) of Kitscotty, AB, Patrick (Kathleen) of Slidell, Louisiana, Terence of Edmonton, AB, Denise Dominie (Brian) of Fort McMurray, AB, Francis Bourque of Fort McMurray, AB and Lori Gilchrist (Fergus) of Edmonton, AB; daughter in-law, Julianne Bourque of Fredericton, NB; brother, Donald Dinsmore (Monica) of Barkers Point, NB; sisters, Alice Vacon of Calgary, AB and Helen Beveridge of Walkerton, ON; sister-in-law, Caroline Bourque of Tay Creek, NB; grandchildren, Angela, Melanie, Matthew, Katherine, Jennifer, Lindsay, Stephanie, Erika and Allison; great-grandchildren, Cohen, Austin, Cple, Braden and Dylan and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Anna is predeceased by her beloved husband; parents; brother, Eugene and sister, Marie.
Visitation will be held at McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20th, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Thursday, March 21st, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Friday, March 22, 2002 at 12:00 Noon. Father Don Savoie as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Catholic Women s League, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or a charity of the donor s choice, would be appreciated by the family.

Allison (nee Marshall) Blair
Allison Blair of Gagetown, NB, passed away on Sunday, May 19th, at the Oromocto Public Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Allison was born in Ottawa on August 26, 1936 and earned her nursing degree at the Kingston General Hospital. She began her medical career in Ottawa and later worked as an operating room nurse in Miramichi and at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She was clerk of the Village of Gagetown for 13 years. She was active for many years in the Girl Guides of Canada providing leadership for many young women. In recognition of her devoted service, the National Council of Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada awarded Allison with an Honorary Life Membership in April of 2000.
Allison is survived by her brothers Gordon (Ann) of Ottawa and Stewart of Montreal, sister Elaine MacNabb (Bruce) of Ottawa and several nieces and nephews in Ottawa and Fredericton. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Blair of Gagetown and her parents Christiana and Wilfrid Marshall. Interment will be on Wednesday at 3:00 PM in the Blair Family Plot at the Riverside Cemetery, Miramichi. There will be a memorial service, and reception, at St. John s Anglican Church in Gagetown, on Saturday, May 25th at 3:00 PM. If desired, donations may be made in Allison s name to the Oromocto Hospital or to the Girl Guides of Canada, Oromocto Gagetown Division, c/o N. Shirley, 37 Warren Rd., Gagetown, NB E5M 1K7 Arrangements are under the direction of McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home, Fredericton.

Nona Juanita Bjerkelund
The death of Nona Bjerkelund occurred on Monday, April 9th, 2001 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, N.B.. Wife of the late David Bjerkelund and daughter of Inez Wyman.
Nona was a member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary and Alpha program. She also volunteered at the YM/YWCA and Canadian Red Cross.
She is survived by three sisters: Anola McIntyre of Fredericton, N.B., Joan Nason (Luther) of Tracey, N.B. and Pamela Sharp of Fredericton, N.B.; two brothers: Gerald (Regina) of Saint John, N.B. and Peter ( Joanne) of Fredericton, N.B.; cherished family Bob and Diana Reid and their children Stephen, Karen and Eleanor; three nieces: Trina, Chelsey and Jennifer; six nephews: James-David, Peter-Kyle, Tyler, Adam, Troy and Alexander; grand nephew: Zachary; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1995.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11th, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12th, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Brunswick Street Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Cowan officiating. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date.

Marion Hazel Bird
May 24, 2001
The death of Marion Bird occurred on Thursday, May 24th, 2001 at York Manor Nursing Home. She was 71 years old. Born in Fredericton, NB. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Katherine (Moss) Hodgson.
Marion is survived by her husband Robert Bird; four sons: Patrick and his wife Heather of Fredericton, NB, James and his wife Wendy of McAdam, NB, Charles and his wife Mary Lou and Christopher and his wife Linda both of Fredericton, NB; one sister: Lois Davidson of Geary, NB.; nine grandchildren: Sarah, Rachael, Katherine, John, Lauren, Thomas, Ashley, Emelie and Karie Lynn; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both parents, several brothers and sisters.
There will be no visitation by family request. Arrangements are entrusted to McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 2001 at 11:00 AM at the Devon Park Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Little officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery.

Margaret E. Bell
The death of Margaret E. Bell occurred in her 89th year at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday February 7th, 2001. Born in Fredericton the daughter of the late Robert and Ester Bell of Chipman. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Especially remembered by the Walker family.
There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will take place at the Christ Church Cathedral on Saturday, February 10 at 3:30 PM, with The Very Rev. Keith Joyce officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of the donor s choice. Adalaide Elizabeth Bedard
With devoted care passed away peacefully at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. September 21st, 2001. She is survived by her husband; Ted; three daughters, Michele Bedard of Fredericton, NB; Anne (Alan) Archibald, of Bedford, NS; Jeanne, MD (Michael) McNeill, of Riverview, NB; son Marc (Charlotte) Bedard of Toronto, ON; twelve grandchildren: Amanda (Richard) Starr, of Fredericton, NB; Joshua (Heather) McElman, of Fredericton, NB; Benjamin (Sabrina) Bedard, of Ottawa, ON; Nicole Bedard, of Ottawa, ON; Daniel Bedard, of Toronto, ON; Sam and Alex Archibald, Emma and Maggie Archibald, of Bedford, NS; Meghan, Sydney, and Brett McNeill, of Riverview, NB; two great grandchildren Liam and Daniel Starr, of Fredericton, NB. She will be remembered by several nieces, nephew, cousins, and some dear friends.

A funeral mass will be held at the Holy Family Parish Church, Hanwell Road, Monday, September 24th, at 12:00 PM. A private burial service will take place at the Hermitage Cemetery. Ruth Elizabeth Barkhouse
The death of Ruth E. Barkhouse occurred at her residence in the Mountainside Lodge, Island View, NB on Monday, July 14th, 2003.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Stackhouse) Day and wife of the late Frank Barkhouse.
Ruth was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, the Silver Dolphins Swim Club and the Seniors Oil Painting Class.
Survived by one son, David A. Lunn (Roselyn) of Saint John, NB; son-in-law, Ira Beattie of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Daryl Lunn (Karen) of Saint John, NB, David F. Lunn of Saint John, NB, David Beattie (Lorrie) of Fredericton, NB, Donald Beattie of Montreal, PQ and Patsy Huggan (Lyle) of Charlottetown, PEI; great-grandchildren, Travis and Trevor Lunn, Jennifer and Shawn Lunn, Tamara and Christopher Huggan and Kevin Beattie; nephews, Gerald and Vaughan Kane of Ontario and long time friends, Nina King of Lincoln, NB and Lucy Ludford of Springfield, NB.
Predeceased by her first husband, Harry T. Lunn; second husband, Frank A. Barkhouse; daughter, Gladys Beattie and sister, Ethel Kane.
A memorial service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 18th, 2003 at 11:00 am.
Interment will take place in the Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John following the service at 2:30 pm.

Cedric H. Baird
Cedric H. Baird of Fredericton, NB, passed away early Friday, January 24th, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB in 1919, he was the son of the late Samuel and Celia (MacDougal) Baird, the husband of Dorothy M. (Carr) Baird.
Cedric spent most of his life managing S.S. Baird & Sons Ltd (Construction and Trucking Company) with his brother Roy. His great loves in life were his family and music. Cedric was a member of numerous Fredericton choirs including that of St. Paul s United Church.
Cedric is survived by his wife, Dorothy, two sons, David (Mary) of Miramichi, NB and Brian (Sheila) of Fredericton, NB; one daughter, Wendy Baird of Quispamsis, NB; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three bothers, Malcolm of Coburg, ON, Lloyd of Sarnia , ON and Roy Torchie (Ester) of Moncton, NB and one aunt Muriel Ferguson of Fredericton, NB.
Predeceased by his parents, one sister, Marion Scott.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Sunday, January, 26th , 2003 at 2:00 pm . Rev. Gil MacKenzie will officiate. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish memorial tributes made to the charity of the donor s choice would be appreciated. McAdam s Select Community Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
