Lorimer P. Ward
The death of Lorimer P. Ward of Waterbourough, NB occurred on March 24, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in North Alton, NS he was the son of the late Percy A. and Muriel I. (Greenwood) Ward and husband of the late Jean E. (Kynock) Ward.
After his retirement Lorimer served as a Game Warden in the Young s Cove area.
Survived by two daughters, Joyce Todd of Waterbourough, NB and Marlene Ward-Comeau of PEI; one son, Laurie of London, ON; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce, Pauline and Bunnie and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents; wife Jean; son Peter; five brothers, Victor, Lawrence, Carl, Lester and Roy; four sisters, Wilda, Margie, Seila and Helen.
There will be no visitation. Friends may gather at the house of the family, 17 Fanjoy Pt. Rd. in Waterbourough, NB to tell stories and share memories of Lorimer s life, on Saturday, March 29th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. The Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the Oromocto SPCA would be appreciated by the family. Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

Darrell L. Ward
The death of Darrell L. Ward of Oromocto, occurred at Oromocto Public Hospital on January 18th, 2001. Born in Blissfield, NB, he was the son of the late Dainie (Mountain) and Henry Ward and husband of the late Bernet M. (Hayes) Ward. Darrell was retired from the Town of Oromocto and had also worked for many years for Diamond Construction Ltd. Survived by his daughter Ellen Ward of Oromocto and son Greg Ward (Laura) of Fall River, NS, two brothers; Perley Ward (Doris) of Ludlow, NB and Richard Ward (Sabra) of Fredericton, NB, two sisters, Christina MacRae (Roy) of Blackville, NB and Diane Brennan (Ed) of Blissfield, NB, two grandchildren Chelsea and Dlyan Ward, several nieces , nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his wife Bernet M. (Hayes) Ward and infant son Micheal and infant daughter Mary Ann, two sisters; Joyce Parker, and Thelma Christie and one brother Allison Ward. Visitation will take place at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home. 108 Winnebago Street, Oromocto on Saturday, January 20th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Sunday, January 21st, at 3:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Don Savoie officiating. Interment will take place in The Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to Canadian Cancer Society or charity of donor s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Ruth Evelyn (Cooper) Wall
The death of Ruth Evelyn (Cooper) Wall of Gagetown, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, June 19th, 2003. Born on July 29, 1924 in Gagetown, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Helena (Tompkins) Cooper, and wife of George Wall.
Ruth was life member of the Women s Institute and was an enthusiastic gardener and quilter. For many years she worked with her husband George in the family owned poultry business. Ruth enjoyed time spend with her family and she will be sadly missed.
Survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, George Caswallen Wall; two daughters, Carol Mayes (John) of Westfield, NB, and Barbara Colpitts of Brampton, ON; five grandchildren, Andrew Colpitts, Michelle Colpitts -Fry (Bob), and Brian Colpitts, Angela, and Julie Mayes; two great-grandchildren, Rickey and Brayden; and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents; one sister, Jane Cooper.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Saturday, June 21st, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, June 22nd, at 2:00 pm. With Rev. Jennifer Brown officiating. Following the service the Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Burton NB. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the charity of the donor s choice would be appreciated by the family.

A. Kathleen Valentine
The death of A. Kathleen Valentine of Oromocto occurred on Saturday, May 31st, 2003. Born in Haileybury, ON. She was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Connors) Adair; wife of Keith Valentine.
Survived by her husband, Keith; three sons, Robin (Flori) of Rossland BC, Christopher (Lori) of Albany, NY and Alan (Debbie) of Couburg, ON; two daughters, Kathryn Wood (Bob) and Nancy Valentine both of Oromocto, NB; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a niece and numerous nephews.
There will be no visitation or service by family request. A graveside service will be held in Haileyburg, ON at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Percy Urquhart
The death of Percy Urquhart of White s Cove, NB, peacefully occurred at the Mill Cove Nursing Home on Wednesday, June 25th, 2003 with his family by his side at the age of 83. He was the son of the late Helen (Dykeman) and Lorne Urquhart and husband of the late Marion (Gunter) Urquhart.
Survived by his daughter Kathryn (Jim) Lawson of White s Cove, NB; one son, Carl of Montreal, PQ; one granddaughter, Michelle (Colin) Corey and great grandsons Tyler and Evan of Dartmouth, NS; one sister, Neata Gunter and sister in law Lucille Gunter both of White s Cove, NB; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Marion on June 25th, 1998; granddaughter Debbie Farris on June 25th, 2002; sister, Dorothy Condon on August 2nd, 1999.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Saturday, June 28th, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 29th, 2003 from the Jemseg Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Rev. Phillip Penny officiating assisted by Rev. Ted Newell. Interment will be held in the Jemseg Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the charity of the donor s choice would be appreciated.

Hildegard Tucker
On Monday, March 17th, 2003 Hildegard Tucker of Burton, died peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born in Menden Germany. Survived by her husband, Christopher David Tucker and daughter, Sandy Tucker (Line Beaulieu). Predeceased by her parents, Fritz and Maria (Hedt) Mauk.
Survived by many friends and family in Canada, USA and Germany. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to special friends Joyce and Victor Hape, Heidi and Bill Reid for their ongoing support and love. The family also wishes to thank the staff of the Oromocto Public Hospital and the Cardiac Unit at the Dr. Everett Chamlers Hospital, and a special thanks to Dr. B. Sainz for the ongoing care and attention.
She forever touched the hearts of those she met. She will be dearly missed by all of those who dearly loved her. She will continue to live forever in our hearts.
There will be no visitation at the request of the family. A private memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated.

Margaret Ruth Tibbits
The death of Margaret Tibbits of Geary, NB occurred at White Rapids Nursing Home, Fredericton Junction, NB on October 22, 2002. Born January 9, 1926 in Toronto, she was the beloved wife of Maurice Tibbits.
Survived by her husband, her daughters, Sandra (Duane) Boone of Geary, NB, Janice (Brendan) Murphy of Kelowna, BC, Maureen (Cedric) Boone of Grand Bay, NB; her sons, William (Patricia) of Geary, NB and Steven (Hank) of Moncton, NB; grandchildren, Marc, Maurice, Charlotte, Shannon (Nick), Liam, Neil, Cory, Derick, Tyler, Christhoper and Alexander; great-grandchildren, William, Shelby and Andrew; her sister, Beatrice Crawford of Nanimo, BC; her brother, Cecil Burridge of Barrie, ON; special friends, Jean MacDonald and Jill Brown of Oromocto. NB.

Marion Sutton
The death of Marion Sutton of Montreal occurred on Tuesday, March 24th, 2003 at the Victoria General Hospital in Montreal, PQ. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Bertie Sutton.
Survived by two brothers, John (Joyce), of Oromocto, NB, Francis of Hawkshaw, NB; three sisters, Elsie of Oromocto, Eva of Winnipeg, MB and Elva of Oromocto, NB; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, special friend Marcelle, two sisters, Murial, Florence and two brothers, Clarence and Norman.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 9th, from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM with the memorial service following at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Sarah Palmater will officiate. Interment will be in the Upper Hampstead Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Richard Joseph Simpson
The death of Richard Joseph Simpson of Oromocto occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Wednesday, July 9th, 2003. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of Leo Simpson and the late Lillian (Murray) Simpson; husband of Eleanor (Dickinson) Simpson.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6774.
Survived by his wife, Eleanor; father, Leo; one son, Jason (Pam) of Kitscoty, AB; one daughter, Sandra Simpson (Greg Stewart) of Geary, NB; four grandchildren, Taylor, Jaeden, Blake and Mataya; three brothers, Murray (Sharon) of Oromocto, Dennis of Fredericton, and Robert (Debbie) of Fredericton; five sisters, Shirley Tardiff (Bob) of Phinox, AZ, Mary Rose Carr (Fred Barton) of Fredericton, Linda Phillips (James) of Fredericton, Debbie Rice (David) of Saint John, and Kathy Winchester of Fredericton, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his mother, and daughter, Christine.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Thursday, July 10th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Friday, July 11th, 2003 at 12:00 noon. Rev. Ken Weir as celebrant. Interment will be in the adjoining Cemetery. Douglas Edward Simpson
Douglas Edward Simpson, 56, of Haneytown, NB, went into the arms of his Lord on October 19th, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Doug was born at Enniskillen, NB, the son of the late Edward and Agnes (McCann) Simpson and worked for the Town of Oromocto Works Department for 35 years.
Doug will be sadly missed by his wife, Lynne (Whiteside); his three children, daughter, Tracey (Shawn) Hamilton of Lincoln, NB; sons, Jim Simpson of Haneytown, NB; and Darrell Simpson of Fredericton, NB; his grandchildren, Morgan, Brendon, Jadyn and Brock; his brother Joe (Evelyn) Simpson of Haneytown, NB; sisters, Barbara (Eugene) Legere, Bernice (Frank) Cashol both of Haneytown, NB, Madeline (Joe) Burton of Oromocto, NB and his many aunts, uncles, neices, nephews and cousins.
There will be no visitation by request. Friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St Vincent de Paul on October 21st, 11:00am. Rev Ken Weir as celebrant. WO Donald C. Hartigan, CD (retired) of Oromocto, NB, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, March 11th, 2007. Born in Sydney, NS he was the son of the late L. Col. David and Dorothy (Gray) Hartigan and husband of Donna P. (Rowe) Hartigan.
Don retired from the Canadian Air Force after 27 years of service and then became an entrepreneur. Lovingly known to many as Mr. Hart , Don owned and operated Hart s TV for over 20 years. Don was also a graduate of DeVry Institute.
He will be sadly missed by many including his beloved companion and wife for over 45 years, Donna; his son, D. J. (Karna) of Lincoln, NB; daughter, Darlene (Geoff) of Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, David, Corey, Denycia, Kyle, Shannon, and Brandy; great-grandchildren, Latoya, Dalton and Alexis; brother, David (Maureen) of Halifax, NS; sisters, Millie (Ray) of Sydney, NS and Noreen (Hank) of Ontario as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses in the ICU at the DECRH in Fredericton, especially Linda who was very supportive.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 14th, 2007 from 2-4 pm with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 holding a tribute at 2:00 pm. John Schuttenbeld
The death of John Schuttenbeld of Oromocto occurred at Oromocto Public Hospital on Saturday, October 19th, 2002. Born in Holland he was the son of the late Jan and Siena (Bokdam) Schuttenbeld, he was the husband of Mary (Hagedoorn) Schuttenbeld.
Survived by his wife Mary, one son Chris; one brother, Harry; three sisters, Annie, Ricky, Rinny and their families.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, October 21st, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Edward Benoit Melanson
The death of Edward Melanson occurred on Thursday, April 12th, 2001 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, N.B. He was 77 years old. Born in Weymouth, Digby Co., N.S. he was the son of the late Israel and Amy (Belliveau) Melanson and husband of the late Mary (Hillman) Melanson.
After retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces, Edward worked with CFB Gagetown as a Vehicle Technician for base maintenance.
Edward is survived by two daughters: Catherine Anne Haines (Michael) of Ontario and Joan-Marie Gear (Patrick) of British Columbia; one son Ted Melanson (Mary) of Oromocto, N.B.; one brother Alphonse Melanson of Nova Scotia; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 15th, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street, Oromocto, N.B. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 16th, 2001 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Don Savoie celebrating. Interment will take place in the Burton Cemetery at a later date.

Clifford Junior McArthur
The death of Clifford Junior McArthur occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Thursday, May 16th, 2002. Born in Moonstone, ON, the son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth (Neilson) McArthur, husband of Shirley (Kizer) McArthur.
Clifford served with Black Watch, and the RCR for 26 years before retiring in 1980.
Survived by his wife Shirley and three sons, Tony (Sandra) of Amherst, NS; Corey (Sandy) of Lincoln, NB; Jody (Vanessa) of Charters Settlement, NB; one daughter Debbie Delorme (Daniel) of Prince Albert, SK; eight grandchildren; his ten siblings, Leonard, Dolton, Manley, Colin, Michael, Donny, Jimmy, Lillian, Marjorie and Becky all of Ontario.
Predeceased by his parents, and one sister Barb.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 18th, at 4:30 PM. Rev. Raymond Fancy will officiate. The death of Marguerite Anna MacLellan of Oromocto, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on the Friday, September 20th, 2002. Born in Florence, Cape Breton, NS, the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Tobin) Carey.
Survived by, her children, Terri MacLellan (Mike), Carey MacLellan (Kate) both of Ottawa, ON, Jenny Batstone (Terry) of Sydney, NS and Frank MacDonald (Nancy) of Edmonton, AB; four granddaughters, Christopher Batstone, George Carey MacLellan, Haley and Cameron MacLellan ; two sisters, Evelyn MacDougall (John) of Florence Cape Breton, NS and Eileen Romeo (Angus) of Sydney Mines, NS.
Predeceased by her parents and brothers Cyril, and Bill Carey.

Florance Mildred LeBritton
Florance Mildred LeBritton of Rusagonis, NB, passed away peacefully, at the Oromocto Public Hospital, on Monday, June 30th, 2003. Born in Morrisdale, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Louise Dickison (Turner); wife of George LeBritton.
Survived by her husband, George; two sons - George Jr (Connie) of Keswick Ridge and John (Kim) of Charters Settlement; one daughter - Mary Hazlett of Fredericton; eight grandchildren - Tally, Misty, Heather, Darren, Melanie, Brad, Jason and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers - Stanley (Blanche) Dickison of Chipman, and Calvin (Betty) Dickison of Nashwaak Bridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, a son - Harry; daughter - Judith Jensen; two infant grandchildren, four sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2003 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Visitation for immediate family will be held on Tuesday July 1st from 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Rusagonis United Baptist Church on Thursday, July 3rd, 2003 at 11am.
Rev. Brent MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in the Rusagonis Cemetery.
The family respectfully requests that memorial tributes be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Oromocto Public Hospital, in lieu of flowers. Over the past couple of years Florance spent a great deal of time in and out of the OPH and would be happy to know that memorial tributes will go to help make other families comfortable as they spend time with their loved ones.

Robert Steven Hudson
Robert Steven Hudson passed away April 12th, 2002 in Montreal PQ. Born in Barrie Ontario on October 13th, 1960, the son of Frederick (Ted) and Margaret (Langevin) Hudson, of Oromocto, NB.
Robert attended school in Oromocto, NB, and Concordia University in Montreal where he was employed in the Physics Department.
Survived by his parents; siblings, Douglas (Johanne) of Montreal, PQ; Katharine MacPherson (David) of Dartmouth, NS.
Patrick (Shih-Shiu) of Calgary, Alberta, Montgomery (Gina) of Dartmouth, NS; Richard of Banff, Alberta; Lawrence of Oromocto, NB; and William (Maiko) of Banff, Alberta; he will be sadly missed by family and friends.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 20th, at 11:00 AM. Rev. Don Savoie will officiate. George Home
January 23, 2001
The death of George Horne occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2001.
Born in Caithness, Scotland, son of the late John and Naomi (Ross) Horne. George was a World War 11 veteran and served in Britain, France, Scotland, Holland, and Italy.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Jack, Ian, two sisters, Christina, and Rena.
Survived by his partner, Edith Ball and step- daughter Judy and her friend Denis Anderson, three sisters; Mary Ellen, (Nellie) Clara, and Mary and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 24th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service at funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.
The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 26th, at 2:00 PM from Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Field of Honor in the spring.
For those who wish memorial tributes made to Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 would be appreciated by the family.

The death of Don Hayward, formerly of Campbelton, NB, occurred on Thursday, March 22, 2001 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB.
Don is survived by his brother, Doug (Vivian) Hayward of Rexton, NB; daughter Bonnie (Terry) Belliveau of Ontario; grandson, Tim Belliveau of Ontario; close friends and extended family; Angella Carberry of Geary, NB; Maria Carberry of Fredericton, NB; Wayne Carberry of Lawrencetown, NS; Michael (Donna) Carberry of Burton, NB; Edward (Jackie) Carberry of Oromocto, NB; Marguerite (Donnie) Wilkins and Madonna (Angelo) Delguercio both of London, ON.
