Brian Howard Jr. Varney of Marne, NB passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at the age of 24.

Alma Kathleen Speer
SPEER, Alma Kathleen of Upper Woodstock passed away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Saturday, May 11, 2002, at the age of 91. Alma is survived by one son, Robert John Speer and his wife Donna of Upper Hainesville, NB; one daughter, Jane E. Hadley and her husband Eric of Mount Hope, NB. two sisters, Barbara Bird of Bath, NB; Marion Brooks and her husband George of Arthurette, NB. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Karen Speer; three grandsons Marten Speer; Adam Hadley; Matthew Hadley; several nieces and nephews. Alma was predeceased by her husband, Robert Speer; her parents, John and Jennie (MacFarlane) Seymour; one sister, Olive Patterson and one brother John Seymour. Alma was born in Plaster Rock and grew up on a farm in Arthurette, she loved the Tobique River where she and her family spent many hours. After completing Business College in Fredericton Alma moved to Plaster Rock to be a personal Secretary for Donald Fraser. She worked at Fraser's Company for nearly twenty Years. In 1948 she married Robert Speer and moved to the farm on the flat, in Upper Woodstock. She enjoyed working on the farm, gardening and exploring the river and hillside with her two children. In later years her four grandchildren were the source of great joy as she followed and often joined in their activities. She loved the forest with it's birds and wild flowers, picking and eating fiddleheads and wild berries were special times for her. Alma's ability to do crossword puzzles made her somewhat of an authority with her friends and relatives.

Belle Marie Slaney of Meductic, NB passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 02, 2002, at the age of 95.

Marjorie Alrene Shaw 0f Wakefield passed away at Central Carleton Nursing Home in Hartland on Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at the age of 79.
Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Deborah Michaud and her husband Reginald of Harvey Station, NB; two brothers Reginald Shaw and his wife Greta; John Shaw and his wife Leona; several nieces and nephews.

Madeline Catherine Raymond
The death of Madeline Catherine Raymond, of Woodstock, NB. occurred at the Dr.Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, June 23, 2002. Born in Woodstock on February 14, 1921, she was the youngest daughter of John J. and Minnie (McIntosh) Raymond, she was pre-deceased by her parents and two brothers, Boyd Raymond and Perley Raymond; one sister Ernestine Raymond. Madeline is survived by her older sister, Mary Kirkpatrick.
Madeline graduated from Woodstock High School and the Carleton County Vocational School, following graduation she was employed as office manager in the firm of Newnham and Slipp for over 40 years. She was a member of St.Paul's Presbyterian Church, a member of Brunswick Rebekah Lodge, a member and Past Matron of Victoria Chapter No 1 Order of the Eastern Star and Past Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of New Brunswick, Order of the Eastern Star. In her younger days, she enjoyed bowling, curling and golf.

MCALLISTER, Ronald George - of Richmond Corner passed away on Tuesday, March 5th, 2002, at the age of 48.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife Wanda (Stairs) McAllister; one daughter, Jennifer Anderson and her husband Corey of Waterville, NB; one son Peter McAllister and his friend Barbie of Woodstock, NB; His parents, Ronald and Maye (Lewis) McAllister of Richmond Corner, NB; one brother Dana McAllister and his wife Ruth of Kennebunk, Maine; two sisters, Leisa Corey and her husband Clifford of Peel, NB; Ethel McAllister of Woodstock, NB; one granddaughter, Tamara Maye Anderson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Keith McAllister.
Ronnie was an avid boater and enjoyed spending time at the family camp, He was fun loving, and enjoyed playing cards,and a good prank. He was also the best father and grandfather who could always make you laugh. He will always have a special place the hearts of his children.

Alice is survived by her husband, Stuart London; two daughters, Jo-Anne London of Ottawa, ON; Janet London ( Michael Morgan) and grandson Andrew Morgan of Florenceville, NB; one brother Joseph Farquhar ( Dorothy ) of Upper Kintore, NB; Several nieces and nephews; two special nieces, Margaret Milne (Duncan) of Ottawa, ON; Catherine Isabel Leger of Moncton, NB. She was pre-deceased by her parents, John and Bessie (Porter) Farquhar and one sister Kathleen Laforest.

E. Keith Jones
June 9, 1932 - June 9, 2002
E. Keith Jones of Woodstock passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Sunday, June 09, 2002, at the age of 70. Keith is survived by his wife Margaret Jones; one daughter, Karen Jones of Portland, Maine; two sons, Keith Jones of Skiff Lake; Kevin Jones and his wife Jane of Canterbury; several nieces; nephews and cousins. Keith was pre-deceased by his parents, E. Raymond and Anna M. (Hogge) Jones.
Following graduation from Woodstock, Keith attended Mount Allison University, receiving his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1955. He returned to Woodstock and joined his father in business at Jones Music Co. He became very interested in cable television, establishing systems in Woodstock and Nackawic, while in business in Woodstock, Keith was actively involved with many athletic teams ranging from hockey, the famous Senators Basketball Team, managing the Woodstock Elks baseball team, who won the Maritime Championship in 1958 and was President of the Woodstock Merchants' Senior Baseball Club. Keith was involved with many business organizations, the Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Woodstock Downtown Business Association, Director of the Downtown Development Committee, Charter member and President of the Woodstock Recreational Council, Chairman of the Board of the Victorian Order of Nurses and a member of the Lions Club and the Men's Bridge Club. When Keith and his family moved to Skiff Lake in 1980, Keith gave up his private business interests and started work with Revenue Canada as a Customs Inspector. He became involved with that community, as well, serving on the Canterbury High School Parents Advisory Committee, working very hard and successfully at improving the Canterbury School. He coached basketball at the school and was Chairman of the Board of Stewards of St. Marks United Church and was very active with the Skiff Lake Cottage Owner's Association acting as Secretary-Treasure for a time.

Russell Hygaard
Russell Hygaard of Grafton passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Friday, May 10, 2002. at the age of 69. Russ is survived by his wife Randi Hygaard; three sons Stephen Hygaard of Ottawa, ON; Michael Hygaard ( Brigitta ); of Rollingdam, NB; Brent Hygaard ( Tamami ) of Victoria, BC; two brothers, Hjalmar Hygaard of Crystal Beach, ON; Richard Hygaard of Thunder Bay, ON; two sisters, twin sister June Nettenbeek of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Elaine Hygaard of Thunder Bay, ON; one grandson Barclay Thurston Hygaard, the first.
There is another great hockey player in heaven now, Russ Hygaard succumbed after a lengthy battle with complications of diabetes Russ was a beloved family man whose generosity touch many peoples lives. He was a man that enjoyed a great hockey career mixed with 29 years service to Canada starting in 1950 with the RCAF. Russ was a Shriner. Known as Zap when he entertained the children as a clown. The spirit of human compassion, which lead to Russ donating his time and resources to people in need throughout his life will be carried on in his memory through Nepthali Children's Foundation. There was not a person whom he would not help or offer words of encouragement with a very reverent smile.

Robert is survived by his wife Judy Hamilton; two sons Scott Hamilton and his wife Angela; and Kyle Hamilton all of Woodstock, NB; one brother Ross Hamilton and his wife Roxanne of Calgary, AB; one sister Anna Vienneau and her husband Jerry of Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews.

Harley Hedley Graham of Hartford, Carleton County, NB received his glorious inheritance in Christ Jesus, when he moved to his new home in heaven on the Lord's Day, February 3, 2002, at the age of 92. Harley is survived by Doris ( Bagley) Graham his cherished wife of 65 years, three daughters, Ann Strugnell and her husband Wayne of Skiff Lake, NB; Irene Ferguson and her husband Dan of Ottawa, ON; Maxine Lutes and her husband Brian of Woodstock, NB; four sons Hedley Graham and his wife Jackie of Hartford, NB; David Graham and his wife Audrey of Hartford, NB; Bob Graham and his wife Joan of Fredericton, NB and Rev. Roger Graham and his wife Roxanne of Saint John, NB; twenty grandchildren, of whom seventeen are married with twenty-three great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Bette Richardson of Woodstock, NB; five sisters-in law Ruth Graham ; Glenna Graham; Marie Tapley; Dot Bagley; Marjorie Bagley ; two brothers-in-law Doug Bagley and his wife Carolyn; and Bill Bagley. He was predeceased by one infant daughter, Mary Lou.

Ethel is survived by one son Clayton Sewell and his wife Beryl of Elmwood, NB ; two daughters Merina Griffith of Blackville, NB; Beatrice Doucette of Massachusetts; several Grandchildren; Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB. with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 2 :00 pm from The Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Captain Nelson Walkins will be officiating, with Interment in the St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Debec, NB.

Norma was pre-deceased by her husband Douglas H. Crandlemire, One daughter Debbie and One sister Marie Rochan .

Leo George Bryant of Northampton, NB passed away at Veterans Nursing Unit in Fredericton on Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at the age of 81.
Leo is survived by one son Thomas (Connie) Bryant of Woodstock, NB; one daughter Theresa (Bill) Gibson of Woodstock; four grandsons, Jeffrey & Blair Bryant; Scott & Mitchell Gibson; Several nieces & nephews.
