Basil Seward Noseworthy
May 29, 1917 - September 22, 2007
Noseworthy, Basil Seward, 90, passed away peacefully on September 22 at the Dartmouth General Hospital in Nova Scotia, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cox's Cove, NL on May 29, 1917, he was the only son of Solomon and Mary (Blanchard) Noseworthy. Since 1952 he has been a faithful member of St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Curling where he enjoyed fun and fellowship through his involvement with the Men�s Service Club. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Mabel (Crocker) in 1996; also by sons Ralph Adam and Foster Bryant, and sisters Olive Wells and Eileen Park. He is mourned by his surviving sisters: Elsie Gillingham, 94, and Miriam Payne, 95; his children: Lloyd Basil (Shannon Casavechia), Ottawa; Mary (Rick Emberley), Dartmouth, NS; daughter-in-law Beatrice, Coley�s Point, NL; grandchildren: Shawna (Ottawa), Meghan (Victoria) and David (Toronto) Noseworthy, and Michael (Toronto) and Christine (Halifax) Emberley, as well as 25 nieces, 12 nephews and many good friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Monday from 6-9:00 p.m., and Tuesday, 10 to 11:30 a.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Curling on Tuesday, September 25th at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Family flower only please. Donations may be made to the St. Mary the Virgin Memorial Fund, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Joseph (Lou), Pasadena, Bernard (Delilah), Phonse (Shirley), Carl (Jean), all of Corner Brook, Kevin, Edmonton, AB, Paul (Rose), Edmonton, AB, Betty (Glen) Churchill, Corner Brook, Nathan, Corner Brook, and Michael (Darlene), Curling; 18 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; brother: Kevin Canning, Halifax, NS, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Chester Marche
September 27th, 1921 - October 20th, 2007
It is with great sadness of the family of Chester L. Marche announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Saturday, October 20th, 2007. He is predeceased in death by his wife Marie (Lawless) Marche in 1997, also by sister Gennieve, brother Arthur, brother Ronald and sister Mildred. He leaves behind loving daughters Judy Perez and husband Gustavo in Florida, Kathleen in Ontario, Sheila Buck and husband Lyle, grandchildren Kerry and Gregory, also daughters Chris and Patty; also leaving behind brother Bart and wife Rena; sister Margie and brother Ray. As well as a large number of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and a wonderful circle of friends. Chester lived in Steady Brook for nearly 50 years and was supervisor of Carpenter Maintenance for the Western Roman Catholic School Board for 30 years till his retirement ... He was most known for his work at Regina High School and always felt that the boys there were the sons he never had. She will be sadly missed by her children: Bernice (Wallace) Williams, Irene Verven, Elmo (Lillian) Perry, Sadie (Bernie) Gallant, Jean Perry, Linda (Bruce) Hay, David Perry, Archie (Charlene) Perry and Lloyd Perry, Clarice (Morris) Marshall, Daphne (John) Yetman, Sandra (Patrick) Hail and Rick Perry, as well as her 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother: Fred Howse. She was predeceased by her husband Chesley Perry and two grandsons. Passed away Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident at the age of 80 years. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife and friend of 53 years Beverley �Babs� (Fifield), seven dear children: sons Hardy (Beverley) in Appleton, William (Angie) in Frederickton, daughters Marilyn (Kerry Reid), Beverley Penney (Butch Vardy), Cindy (Chad Hussey), Jean (Bain Stratton), and Joan, all of Corner Brook; three special grandchildren (Andrew Reid, Heather Reid and Riley Chaulk); only brother Hardy Miles (Bridget) of Lewisporte, sisters-in-law: Ruby Hardy, Gloria Fifield (ex-husband Lew Murphy), Lena Anderson, and a large circle of friends and relatives. Wilbert was predeceased by brothers-in-law John Hardy, Max Anderson & son-in-law Calvin Penney. Wilbert was best known for his love of the outdoors, salmon fishing and hunting with his family and long time friend Martin Humber. Granting Wilbert�s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A private family service will take place in Corner Brook. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevieve Connors announce her passing on Sunday, February 10th, 2008 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her 11 children: Larry (Barbara), Andy (Joy), Ralph (Roma), Al (Lori), Mark, Tony (Julia), Catherine (Craig), Phil (Lisa), Veronica (Peter), Ted and AnnMarie (Mark), 15 grandchildren: Charlene, Gordon, Jody, Colleen, David and their mother Anita, Megan, Danielle, Erin, Michaela, Adam, Liam, Sean, Olivia, Grace and Harry, special �son� Rick (Jean). Passed peacefully away on Monday, February 11th, 2008 at the O�Connell Center, Corner Brook OLIVE FIELD at the age of 93. Olive was affectionately known as Aunt Holly to those who loved her. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from Fillatre�s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon on Thursday from where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. George Critchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Codroy. Passed away peacefully at the Hoyles Home, St. John�s on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 Muriel Traverse. Muriel (nee Moores) was 91 years old and born in Cottrells Cove, Notre Dame Bay. Predeceased by her husband George; daughter Barbara (McIsaac); son Harold; brothers Harry and Calvin and sisters Gladys and Ivy. Leaving to mourn son Ross (Marcie) of Torbay; son-in-law Wayne McIsaac of Ottawa; grandchildren Susan (Barkhouse) of Nova Scotia; Charles Traverse of Torbay; Trevor and Tracy McIsaac; and great granddaughter Rebecca Barkhouse. Also thanks to her special, caring family at the Bay St. George Senior Citizens Home and the Hoyles Home, where she spent her last few years. Visitation will take place at Fillatre�s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing (tel. 646-2050) on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-12 noon. The Funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2008 from First United Church in St. George�s at 2:00 p.m. where she was organist for many years with Rev. Kathryn Eddy officiating. He was predeceased by his grandparents Bill Jim and Agnes Anderson, step-grandmother Blanche Anderson, big dad and big mom Frank and Dorothy Kennedy and father-in-law Mike Mahoney.
