Bushen - Cyril - Mansfield - 75 of Petite Riviere, Lunenburg County, died November 14, 2004 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born on Tumblin Island he was a son of the late Robie and Matilda (Tumblin) Bushen. He spent most of his life as an inshore fisherman. Surviving are his spouse Shirley Harmon; daughters Charlotte (David) Rafuse, Middlewood, Charlene Bushen, Dartmouth; son Andrew, Cherry Hill; step-children David Eugene (Mary) Harmon, Upper LaHave, Patricia (Robert) Drew, Petite Riviere, Elizabeth Junkin, Bridgewater, Paul (Cheryl) Harmon, Petite Riviere, Beverly (Wade) McCarthy, Petite Riviere; brother Murray (Pauline) Bushen, Bush Island; sister Joyce (Guy) Bush, Bush Island; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Aunt Lalia Bush, West Dublin; Uncle Calvin Tumblin, Bush Island.

Timothy Andrew Nickerson
Nickerson, Timothy Andrew - Infant Son of Matthew Nickerson and Paula Veinotte-Nickerson, Bridgewater, passed away November 13, 2004 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Surviving are his Brother Joshua; maternal Grandparents Kim and Michael Heisler, Windsor Rd, Chester, Bernard Veinotte, Martin s Point; Paternal Grandparents Pamela and Andrew White, Wileville.
Service and Burial will be held at a later date.

Bernice Ethel Robar
1922-2007
ROBAR , Bernice Ethel - 85, New Germany - Residents and Staff of Rosedale Home for Special Care are saddened to announce the death of long-time resident on October 19, 2007. Bernice was born on October 7, 1922 in Farmington daughter of the late Orman Jacob and Louetta Rose (Crouse) Baker.
Formerly of Farmington, Lunenburg County she settled at Rosedale in January 1989 due to ill health; Rosedale became her home for close to 19 years. She was a member of the Barss Corner United Baptist Church. Surviving Bernice are her three daughters Joy DeLong, New Germany, Mae Ramassier, Ontario and Gwen (Barry) Corkum, Dartmouth; son Charles, Farmington; sister Marjorie Varner, Stanburne; brothers Carmen, Loran (Irene) Farmington and Lovatt (Mae) Green Valley, Ontario; five grandchildren, Warren and Miranda, Dartmouth, Rickey, Trevor and Charlene, Ontario and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Leamert, brothers Frank, Angus, John, sisters Blanche Slack, Bertha Eisener, Beatrice Taylor and infant brother Francis and an infant sister.
Cremation took place under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home Bridgewater. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2pm Tuesday October 30 at Rosedale Home for Special Care #4927 Hwy 10 New Germany with Rev. Jennifer Joudrey officiating. Memorial Donations may be made to any charity. We extend our love and prayers to her family and many friends. "The people we love will live on in our hearts."

Audrey Rosanna Whynot
Whynot - Audrey - Rosanna - 60 of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, formerly of East River Point died November 20, 2004 in Fisherman s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Rita (Doyle) Coolen, Wolfville and the late Aubrey Coolen.
She is survived by her husband Wilbert; son David Genepra; grandson Leonard; sisters Sandra, Barbara and Louise; brothers Kenneth, Lawrence 'Laurie', Wayne, Paul and Phillip. Predeceased by Foster Mother Rhoda Melvin.
Visitation, 2 - 4pm Tuesday, funeral service 11:00am Wednesday, both in R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Percy Lake officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.

Albert 'Junior' Veinot
Veinot, Albert 'Junior' - 73 of Auburndale, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully November 22, 2004 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Albert and Millie (Wentzell) Veinot. He worked for Nauss Brothers and Silvers Garage, Bridgewater, as a machinist and mechanic, before working from his home as a welder. Junior was known as a man who was able to fix or fabricate most anything. He was a talented 'Jack of all trades' with an avid love for nature, hunting, fishing, gardening and fiddle music. Most summer days when retired and in good health, he could be found tending to his flourishing vegetable garden. When not busy with gardening or tinkering with something, he would be in his shop sharing a conversation with old friends. Junior is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Lena Holland; children Ardith (George) Knickle, Midville Branch, Donald (Patricia Filmore) Veinot, Alliston Ontario, Cheryl (Neil) Selig, Liverpool, Todd (Diahann Mitchel) Veinot, Bakers Settlement; grandchildren Nicole (Ronald) Hatt, Jonathan Knickle, Amanda and Andrew Veinot, Christiane and Bailey Selig, DJ, Matthew and Nicholas Chase; great-grandson Jevin Veinot.
Visitation 7 - 9PM Wednesday in R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Funeral service 11:00am Thursday in All Saints Lutheran Church, Newcombville. Reverend Willis Ott officiating. Burial in Lone Pine Cemetery, Upper Branch. Immediate Family Flowers only. Todd Leslie Ritcey
Ritcey, Todd Leslie - 43, Pleasantville, Lunenburg County, died November 27, 2004 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after a two year struggle with cancer. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of Leslie and Joyce (Corkum) Ritcey, Bridgewater. He was a carpenter for 25 years, always being precise and particular in the work he did. Surviving are his sisters Pamela Ritcey, Toronto, Heather Whynot (Victor), Bridgewater; four nephews; Beloved cat, Captain Morgan. He was predeceased by his brother Dale; maternal grandparents Gladys and Fred Corkum; paternal grandparents Doris and Henry Ritcey.
Memorial Service 2:00pm Tuesday in Bridgewater United Church, Reverend Ivan Norton Officiating. Private Family Burial in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Conquerall Bank. Family Flowers only. David Franklin McGill
McGill, David Franklin - 55, of Newcombville, Lunenburg County, died November 27, 2004 at home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Middleton, he was the eldest son of Frank and Anita (Walker) McGill, Newcombville. David was a letter carrier for Canada Post for 30 years and thoroughly enjoyed his job. He also refereed hockey for 25 years besides playing and being involved with other sports. David loved the outdoors and always got fishing fever in the spring. He was content to just 'tinker' around his goldfish pond, gardens and property, and always described himself as a simple man with simple pleasures. He was a 'people' person and always had time for a word with everyone he ran into.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Lynn Russell; daughter Stephanie (Peter Lee), Courtenay BC; son Steven (Yumi), Newcombville; three precious grandchildren, Justin and Megan (Lee) and Mina (McGill); brother Richard (Liz), MaHone Bay; nephew Michael; niece Samantha; several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Mother-in-law, sister and brother-in-laws, all of whom he considered his family. David was also blessed with many good friends and caring neighbors. He will be missed. He was predeceased by a sister in infancy.
visitation will be 7-9pm Wednesday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home Ltd.
A service for the celebration of his life will be held 2:00pm Thursday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Reverend Pat Gow Officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family flowers only.

Major Anthony Tony Condy
Condy - Major Anthony 'Tony' - BEMC.D (Retired) - 90 of Wileville, Lunenburg County, died November 27, 2004 at Home.
Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Bonifacio and Assonta (Camarra) Condy. He joined the regular army, the Royal Canadian Regiment in 1932, serving in France, Sicily, Italy and Okenawa, Korea. He was appointed commanding officer No. 1 Personnel Department following Korean service. He was the first Canadian Soldier decorated World War 11 Military Medal order of the British Empire.
Following his retirement in 1962 as Major he was employed by Registry of Motor Vehicles as director of Motor Vehicle Inspection Division. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion; retired Employees Nova Scotia Government Association.
Surving are two sons David and Donald; sisters Yolanda and Gloria, both of Ontario. Predeceased by his wife Doris (DeeDee); two sisters; six brothers.
No visitation by request. Graveside service 1:00pm Wednesday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Padre Wendy Kean lt. (N) officiating.

Faye Marie Tumblin
Tumblin, Faye Marie - 59, of Pleasantville, Lunenburg County, passed away December 4, 2004 at home.
Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of Marie (Publicover) Hirtle, Middlewood, and the late Basil Hirtle. She collected antique clocks and enjoyed collecting and framing pictures. She also made handcrafts.
Surviving are her husband John; daughter Sheila, at home; sisters Janiemay (Rayburne) Whynot, Middlewood, Debrah (David) Naugler, Hebbville; brothers Donald (Deanna), Voglers Cove, James (Donna), Conquerall Bank, Kenneth (Laura), Rhodes Corner; several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday, funeral service 1:30pm Tuesday, both in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Reverend Quincy Collins officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, West Dublin.

Audrey Hazel DeMone
DeMone - Audrey - Hazel - 71 of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, died February 13, 2005 at home. Born in Stellarton, NS, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Theresa (Carter) Worthylake. Surviving are her daughters Kathy Swinemar (Marshall), Brenda DeMone; sons Allister (Christine), Cyril (Debbie), Robert, James (Donna), David (Doreen); brother Byron (Sue); sister Mildred Aker (Hugh); 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Allister.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm Monday in R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Captains Paul and Lisa Trickett officiating. Burial in Newcombville Cemetery. Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of NS or the Salvation Army Bridgewater Corps.

Charles Thomas Canning
Canning - Charles - Thomas - 91 of Harmony, Queens County, died February 17, 2005 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in New Grafton, he was a son of the late Arthur and Annie (Robinson) Canning. He was a Veteran of the Second World War. Surviving are his son Arthur (Kathleen) Harmony; sisters Elizabeth Fader, Stony Creek, Ontario; Mary Morash, Ottawa; grandchildren Edward (Michelle) Bridgewater, Heather (Moffatt) Botswana, Africa, Tiffany (Sherman) Harmony; Five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife the former Catherine Young; sister Sarah Shupe.

Barbara Ann Wile
Wile, Barbara Ann - 54, Wileville, Lunenburg County, died February 23, 2005 at home. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of Hazel (Rhodenizer) Wile, Wileville, and the late Lloyd Wile. Surviving are her sisters Maxine Joudrey (Gary Tucker), Baker Settlement, Virginia Wile, Wileville, Lois Wile, Sweetland; brothers Herbert, Bruce (Linda), Andrew (Diana Llewellyn), all of Wileville; sister-in-law Debbie, Wileville. She was predeceased by brother Ronald.

Lillian Teresa Sperry
Sperry - Lillian - Teresa - (Bell) - 102 of Upper LaHave, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully Sunday Morning February 27, 2005 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Bell s Cove, Dublin Shore, she was a daughter of the late Bertrum and Maude Bell. She lived in LaHave until she moved with her son Paul and daughter-in-law Marjorie, Upper LaHave. She belonged to the Knox Presbyterian Church, Knox Ladies Aid, Dublin Shore and sang in the choir for 79 years. Lillian is survived by her daughter Shirley (Preston) Ross, Bridgewater; sons Paul (Marjorie), Upper LaHave, Percy (Dawn) and Hector Jr, all of Dartmouth. 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Hector Sr.; sons Hector Lorraine and Robert; daughters Belle and Marina; brothers Albert and Loran; sisters Rita, Loie, Bessie, Annie and Jenny.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Public graveside service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday in Brookside Cemetery, West Dublin. Reverend Lawrence Mawhinney and Reverend Ivan Norton officiating.

Yvonne Rita Sarty
Sarty - Yvonne - Rita - 59 of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, died March 3, 2005 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Southwest Port Mouton, she was a daughter of the late Ansel and Doreen (Roy) Allison. Surviving are her husband Darrell Zinck, Bridgewater; sons Mark Verge, Oshawa, Ontario, Robert Verge, Dartmouth; daughter Debbie Stevens, Bowmanville, Ontario; sisters Trudy Daury, Hazel Fisher both of Southwest Port Mouton, Gloria Bouges, Dartmouth; brothers Burnell Allison, Southwest Port Mouton, Gary Allison, Port Joli; grandsons Christopher and Jason Stevens; granddaughter Nicole Stevens, all of Bowmanville, Ontario. She was predeceased by sisters Doris and Jeanie.

Margaret Ann Silver
Silver - Margaret - Ann - 94 of Hemford, Lunenburg County, died March 7, 2005 in Rosedale Home For Special Care, New Germany. Born in Nineveh, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Albertina (Lohnes) Stockman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her daughter Ellen at home; son David, foster son Cyril Veinot, both of Hemford; grandchildren Jeremy, Manitoba; Angela (Deon), Bridgewater. Also surviving are Annette Silver and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Naaman; sisters Annie, Anna Stacia, Lessie, Edith and Helen; brothers John, Bernard, William, Mark, Henry, Garrett and Leonard.

Garth Marshall Reinhardt
Reinhardt - Garth - Marshall - 80 of Halifax, formerly of Broad Cove, Lunenburg County, died March 31, 2005 in the QE 11 Health Science Center, V.G. Site, Halifax. Born in Broad Cove, he was a son of the late Carmen and Hattie (Hebb) Reinhardt. He was employed at the V.G. Hospital, Halifax for more than 30 years, until his retirement. After his retirement, he enjoyed travelling until his health deteriorated. He is survived by sister LeToile MacKinnon, Halifax; nephews Laurie Reinhardt, Dayspring and Wayne MacKinnon, Sackville, NS

Paul Edward Huey
Huey, Paul Edward - 90, Baker Settlement, Lunenburg County, passed away quietly in the company of friends at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, on August 26, 2005, the day after his 90th Birthday. Born in Baker Settlement, he was the son of James Knox and Jenneth Huey (Beck). He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, being predeceased by his parents and siblings, Grace, Pearl, Kenneth, Lawson, Josephine and Alma. He is survived by his daughter Marilyn Andrews and her son Ben. At the age of twelve, Paul moved from home with his sister Grace and her husband Howard Veinot, to Gloucester, Mass, where he aattended school and worked in a bowling alley in the evenings. Years later he returned to the family homestead in Baker Settlement, where he resided until October, 2003, when he went to live at Magdalen and Jack Skinner's boarding home in Upper Branch, NS. Paul's working years were spent in the woods raising cattle, pigs and hens, and farming the land he loved so well. Although he never married, he shared his home with others and liked company, but was also a solitary man who enjoyed time alone. As the years passed and he was no longer able to work fulltime, he continued to cut his own firewood, garden and tend to the land as long as he was able. In his later years, he had to physically slow down but that never stopped his quiet and steady love of nature from the changes of every season to the smallest activity of a deer or a rabbit. Throughout his life, he shared his gratitude for each day lived, his acceptance of others, his quiet faith and his sense of humor. We are better people for having had him in our lives and we are all diminished by his departure.
Visitation will be 7-9pm Monday, funeral service 2:00pm Tuesday, both in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Pastor James Haughn Officiating. Burial In Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Donations may be made in Paul's Memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation Of Nova Scotia.

Donald Gerald Crouse
Crouse, Donald Gerald - 70, Baker Settlement, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 7, 2005 at home. Born in East Clifford, he was a son of the Late Lloyd and Thelma (Beck) Crouse. Donald was a businessman prior to his illness. He was the owner and operator of Don s Auto Body and previously in partnership of Ross and Don s Auto Body in Baker Settlement. Donald s charm and wonderfully funny personality always ensured many friends and family would stop by the garage and house just to enjoy his company. He enjoyed playing cards, darts and crokinole. He enjoyed golfing and curling and was a member of both clubs in Bridgewater. Donald was a natural handyman. He built many houses and you could always count on him to be able to build, fix or repair almost anything. He enjoyed going to his cabin he built on Molega Lake and you could always hear him whistling and joking as he worked on his land. Since his illness began over a decade ago, he was cared for at home by Margaret who devoted all her time to his needs. He will be greatly missed by many. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, the former Margaret Oickle; Sons Wade (Wanda), Baker Settlement, Trevor, Monk Rd., Jeff, Baker Settlement; daughters Cheryl Meisner (Mitchell), Monk Rd., Lou-Wana Whynot (Eric), Bridgewater; Brothers Brian, Larry (Brenda); sisters Shirley (Gerald) Crouse, Jean Aulenback, Donna (Tony) Norwood; Granddaughters April Thompson (Charles), Dartmouth, Kellie Meisner, Hannah and Cicely, all of the Monk Rd.; Grandsons Kerrie and Korrie, Monk Rd.; great-grandson Dakota, Dartmouth. Predeceased by son Timothy; sister Glenice Bolivar.
No visitation at the funeral home. Memorial Service 2:00pm Sunday in St. Luke s Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement. Reverend Willis Ott officiating. Private family burial at a later date.
