ASBURY, George William. (Formerly of Montreal), passed away in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of eighty-five. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Wood. Will be sadly missed by his daughters Carol and her husband Bob, Janice and her husband Darrel, grandchildren Paul, Donna, Kelly, sister Vera Miller, friends and extended families. George was employed by Rolls Royce for forty-one years, prior to his retirement in 1981. A memorial service and reception will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2001 at Armstrong Funeral Home, 1640 Cote Vertu, Ville Saint-Laurent, (514-331-1104). Edith Prefontaine, beloved wife of the late Ovila Benoit. She leaves to mourn her brother John Eric (Jeanne D'Arc), her sisters Marion and Lola, their children Herve, Claudette, Leo, Lorraine, Richard and Roger, as well as their spouses, grandchildren Anik, Tania, Veronique, Alexandre, Laurence, Emilie and Vincent, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. MOTYKA (SWIENCICKI), Alexandra. Died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, November 12, 2001, after a lengthy illness. Loving wife of the late Ludwik Motyka, she will always be remembered by her son Valerian (Mirka Czekalska), daughter Lorna (Eddy Maj), grandchildren Stephen, Diane, Michael, Peter, Christine and four great-grandchildren. BONATHAN, Reverend Canon John B. died peacefully on November 11, 2001 in his one-hundredth year at the Regency Care Home in Surrey, B.C. Predeceased by his wife Mabel C. Chambers and brothers Harvey and George Bonathan. Born in 1902 at Newcastle, Ontario. Canon Bonathan was educated at Trinity College (University of Toronto) and was ordained priest in June 1927. After serving a short curacy at St. Michael and All Angels Church in Toronto, he went to Montreal where he was curate at St. John the Evangelist Church (1929 to 1935) and rector of St. Mark's Church Longueil from 1935 to 1970. From 1971 to 1991, he served as Honorary Assistant at St. John the Evangelist Church before moving to Surrey, B.C. to be near his daughter Katherine. Canon Bonathan is survived by two daughters Anne Williams of Lethbridge, Alberta and Katherine Bonathan of Vancouver, British Columbia; also by grandchildren Mark Rogers (Toronto, Ontario), Sheila Rogers (Monarch, Alberta) and Christopher Rogers (Lethbridge, Alberta) and great grandchildren David and Jessamy. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 16, 2001 at 2 p.m. at St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church 11601-82 Avenue Delta, British Columbia. Burial in St. George's Cemetery Newcastle, Ontario. Sadly missed by her sisters Lina, Nina (Italy), brother Alfie (Lucille), Lucio (Mary), and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. HUSK, Rachel Helene (nee Elliott). passed away peacefully at the Wales Home, Richmond, Qc. on Saturday, November 3, 2001 in her ninety-fourth year. Loving wife of the late Mark Husk, dear mother of Esther (Donald Healy), Allan (Lynn), Hilda and Miriam (Oskar Staudt) and grandmother of Mark Healy (Charlotte) and Christopher Husk.
