Laurie Dawn Mae Peters
1961 - 2006
PETERS - Laurie Dawn Mae November 27, 1961 - March 27, 2006 Laurie Peters (nee Yantz) was born November 27, 1961 at the General Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. She lived in Calgary until age 16, when she moved to Kamloops, B.C. At age 18, she moved further west to the Vancouver area making it her home. Laurie then began her career with the TD Bank and remained in their employ thereafter. In 1989, she met the love of her life, Harry Peters. They married in 1995 and resided in Burnaby, along with Angel the cat. Laurie had a zest for life. She loved her husband, her family, her friends, and country music. Her passion for nature, animals and especially Orcas was evident in her spirit. She and Harry shared many happy memories at their cabin in Sechelt and enjoyed sharing this special part of their life with family and friends where there was always good food and good company. Laurie was a loving wife to her husband Harry, a gracious daughter to Pat Weisse (Bill Clark) and Don (Sue) Yantz; a spirited sister to Wendy (Brent) Wildeman; Wade (Solantra) Yantz, Tim Willock (Karen Nelson) and Tammy (Jack) Roenspiess. She adored her nieces and nephews: Ryan, Michael, Ashley, Katie, Josh, Taylor and Brooke. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her many friends and co-workers. It's difficult to separate 'family' from 'friend' when remembering how Laurie treated others - she made us all feel special and royal. Laurie was especially fond of homeless pets. Those who desire are encouraged to contribute to the S.P.C.A. in her memory. Family and friends are invited to remember and help celebrate Laurie's life and spirit by meeting at the East side of Deer Lake Park (Sperling Ave. entrance), Burnaby on Saturday, April 1st, at 11:00 A.M. Light lunch to follow at the Coquitlam Inn, 319 North Road, Coquitlam.
