1928 - 2003
KERR– George born in Ladysmith BC, January 27, 1928 passed away suddenly at the age of 75. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Evangeline; sons Robert (Nancy) and William (Angela); daughter Anita and 3 grandchildren. George had a great love of life. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, and storytelling, as well as his great passion for ballroom dancing. A Funeral service will be held November 12, 2003 at 10:00am at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, with a tea to follow.

Gertrude Charlotte Parker
1918 - 2003
Parker, Gertrude long time resident of Port Moody passed away peacefully in her 85th year. She is survived by her 5 children, Rev. Ray (Sharon) Parker of Kamloops, Dennis (Caroline) Parker of Clinton, Ken Parker of Clearwater, Bonnie Phelps of Maple Ridge and Judy (John) Warkentin of Kirkland Washington, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers, Stan (Betty) Jones, George (Cecile) Jones and her sister Doris Cook. A Memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Church, 2318 St. Johns Street, Port Moody, on Monday, November 17, 2003 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA would be greatly appreciated.

Douglas Richard Ferguson
1943 - 2003
FERGUSON, Douglas Richard, age 60, of New Westminster, passed away suddenly on November 10th, 2003 at St. Paul’s Hospital, following heart surgery. Born in Central Butte and raised in Birsay, Saskatchewan, Doug was predeceased by his parents David and Anne and his twin brother David. Doug will be greatly missed by his partner Wendy; her daughter Lisa; brother Robert (Dianna); sisters Charlotte (Cliff) and Marj (John); sister-in-law Dianne; nephews Bret and Todd; niece Brooke and son David. A Service will be held at 2:00 pm on November 17, 2003 at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donation to the BC Standardbred Association (604-574-5558) would be appreciated.

Isobel Hall Bourgeois
1915 - 2003
BOURGEOIS, Isobel - passed away on November 18, 2003. Predeceased by her 5 siblings, Clem, Nancy, Rusty, Bill, & George. Survived by her nieces, Gloria, Ann, Isabel, Carolyn; great nieces & nephews; other relatives and friends. No Service by request.

HAPPY, Alex of Coquitlam passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 84 years of age. Survived by his loving family, son Brian (Kathy); stepdaughter Doreen Todd and family; granddaughters Diana and Charlene; brother Bill (Mary); sister Rose; sister-in-law Merle; and many other relatives and friends. Antonio Philias Donat Bilodeau

BILODEAU, Donat “Bozo” - Born in 1914 in Sherbrook, Quebec, and passed away peacefully on November 19, 2003. Predeceased by his sister Bertha Macdonald. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Nora; son Leon (Lillian) Bilodeau; daughter Maureen (Dale) Coombe; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Julie (Wilf) Hunniford, Theresa Mapson; one brother, Leon Landry; and one brother-in-law Mickey Macdonald. Prayers to be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 828 Laval Square, Maillardville, BC, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, November 24, 2003. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Goodbye Bozo.

Tracy Marguerite Metzler
1970 - 2003
METZLER, Tracy Marguerite - Born in Montreal on August 19, 1970 and passed away very peacefully on November 22, 2003, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Sadly missed by her mother and father, Jenny & Doug; sister Wendy; and many other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 28, 2003, at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. By Tracy’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation of BC would be greatly appreciated.

Gwendoline Gertrude Martelli
1924 - 2003
MARTELLI, Gwen passed away on 27 December 2003 at the age of 79. Her husband, Nick Martelli, Predeceased her. Gwen is survived by her loving son Derrick and daughters Amber, Dale, and Robyn. She will be missed by her stepson Dale, his wife, Marlene, and their daughters Alannah and Kyra. At her request, there will be no service.

Peter Hughes
1916 - 2003
HUGHES, Peter - passed away on December 29, 2003 at 86 years of age. Survived by son Phil (Janice) Hewko, Maple Ridge; daughter Linda (Steve) Reiter, Maple Ridge; three grandchildren, Peter, Tina, and Darren; three great grandchildren; three sisters; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 5, 2004 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 3141 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Alphena Denise Pelletier

Pelletier, Alphena Denise passed away peacefully January 1, 2004 aged 93 years. Predeceased by her husband Hector and brother Leo. Alphena is survived by her loving family; sister Leona; sons Leo and Roland; daughters Aline and Rose (Leo); 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday January 8 at 10 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church-828 Laval Square, Coquitlam. Fr. S. Frytek o.f.m. celebrant. Russell Edward Johnson
JOHNSON, Russell Edward passed away peacefully at Eagle Ridge Manor on Friday, December 19, 2003 at the age of 76. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Wilma; daughters Diane Norrie, and Donna (Ryan) Paul; grandchildren Alex, Russ, Chrissy (Justin), Steven, and Kathy; great grandson Matthew; brother Roy Johnson; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and sisters Arlene and Edna. Russ worked for Canfor for 37 years, he was an avid vintage car enthusiast, fisherman, and camper. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 23 at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. A special thank you to Russ’s girls at Eagle Ridge Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Bernardin, Albertine Louise passed away peacefully January 3, 2004 aged 93 years. Predeceased by her husband Emmanuel and son Adelard. Albertine is survived by her loving family; daughter-in-law Irene Bernardin; daughters Viviane (Don) Mueller, Sylvia (Dan) Carlson, Irma (Gerry) Sjodin and Diane (Denis) Brown; brother Leo Girard; sisters Jeanne Beaudin and Alice Tanguay; grandchildren Lucille, Michelle, Monique, Lori, Len, Michael, Jolene, Dawn, David, Carmen, Roger, Darren and Devin; 22 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Prayers will be held Monday January 5 at 7 PM in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church-828 Laval Square, Coquitlam followed by Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday January 6 at 10 AM. Fr. S. Frytek o.f.m celebrant. Interment following in Robinson Memorial Park, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated

Lisa will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 26 years, Kevin Steele; son William; daughter Kirsten; parents Eva and Harald Hansen; brother Ken Hansen; and many dear friends. A Funeral Service to celebrate Lisa's life will be held Friday, January 9, 2004 at 11:00 am at Burquitlam Funeral Chapel, 625 North Rd, Coquitlam, BC. A tea reception to follow service at #292 - 201 Cayer Street, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Lisa's memory.

Don Victor Maxwell
MAXWELL – Don passed away at the age of 65 after a brief but intense battle with cancer on Jan 6, 2004 in Burnaby Hospital. Loved, remembered and greatly missed by his wife Sheila; sons Brian (Joanne) and Rob (Sandra); three little grandsons Jack, Daniel and Andrew; sister Sharie; mother Lorea and cat Cleo. Don passionately pursued his hobbies of woodworking, photography and antique collecting especially after retiring in 2001. He lovingly created heirloom woodwork projects for his grandchildren whom he adored. His hobbies combined into a home business “Barnboard Originals” in which he used barn wood for picture frames and other hand made items for sale. The family would like to thank the staff of Burnaby Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and support. A memorial service will be held on Jan 10, 2004 at 2 PM at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donations to Burnaby Hospital PCU or BC Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

SASK, Velma Marie passed away on January 10, 2004 at the age of 72. Loving and missing her are husband Adam Sask; children Noreen, Robert (Denise), Sharon (Marcel); grandchildren Mark (Jen), Jessie; great grandchildren Hunter, Austin; and sister Nell (Ed). Gladys Edna Wallsmith
1926 - 2004
WALLSMITH, Gladys passed away on January 11, 2004 at the age of 77. She is predeceased by her parents Julien & Edna Chevalier. Gladys will be sadly missed by her husband of nearly 57 years Ray; sons Ron & Gord, special “daughters” Terry & Brenda; grandchildren Karianne, Kevin, Brett & Jason; brothers Donald (Vi), Ted (Jo), Gene (Zee) and many favorite in-laws, relatives and friends. Evening prayers will be held Thursday January 15 at 7:30 pm from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church 140 Moody St, Port Moody. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday January 16th at 10:30 am from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations to the BC Cancer society would be appreciated.

MITCHELL, Pamela (Pam), nee Mellish, passed away suddenly on January 8, 2004 at her home in Burnaby. Dearly beloved daughter of Mabel and Leslie Mellish of White Rock, BC; dear sister of Alan and his wife Lucy; loving companion of Ken Chamberlain; loved and remembered by cousins Kathleen and John of Scotland; niece Christine and her family; nephews Randy and Jimmy; and she leaves many cousins in Toronto, England, and Scotland. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 16, at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society or the BC Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Bernard Charlton Elliott
1909 - 2004
ELLIOTT, B. Charlton “ Chuck” passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 12,2004 at the age of 94. Predeceased by his beloved son Frank Douglas and sister Mary MacGregor. Loving and missing him are his wife of 68 years, Jean Margaret; son Bob and daughter-in-law Linda; grandchildren Brandon, Brent, Lisa, and Michelle; brother Douglas of Florida; many nieces, nephews and friends. Chuck was employed by BC Hydro for over 40 years and was an active member of the retirees golf club. The family is comforted knowing he enjoyed a long and wonderful life. A Memorial Celebration of Chuck’s life will be held Saturday, January 24,2004 at 2:00 pm from Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. Dominelli, Marianna

DOMINELLI - Marianna passed away on May 09, 2006 at 91 years of age. She is predeceased by her loving husband Biagio Dominelli, 53 years of marriage. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her loving children, Raffaela Pontellini; Salvatore and wife Sandra; Vittoria Dominelli; Cosmo and wife Susan; Nicola and wife Carol; Maria and husband Henry Sundquist; Antonio and wife Elizabeth; Maria Grazia and husband Ken Campbell; Vincenza and husband Glenn Schmidt; 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Marianna was born in Serra San Bruno, Italy on June 10, 1914 and immigrated to Canada in December 1960, bringing her five youngest children to rejoin her husband and the eldest four children to start their new life together in their Coquitlam home. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved gardening, cooking but most of all loved big family gatherings, as family was the most important thing in her life. Special thanks to all the staff who provided personal care for Marianna Dominelli and her many friends at Villa Carital. The Funeral Prayers will be held at 7:30pm on Sunday May 14, 2006 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 315 Walker Street, Coquitlam, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00pm on Monday May 15th, 2006. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery at 4000 Imperial in Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society or B.C. Children's Hospital.
