CLEARY, Mabel Victoria (Hefferman, nee Rollings) – Passed peacefully away on February 4th, 2005, at the Palliative Care Unit, following a short illness, aged 84 years. Predeceased by husbands William Hefferman and Augustus Cleary; brothers George and Albert; sisters Adele and Julia and infant grandson Matthew. Leaving to mourn sons: David (Judy), Ray (Freda), Gerry; eight grandchildren: Raymond, William, David, Mark, Michelle, Marcia, Kimberly, Sarah; 6 great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Steven, Will, Kallie, Raymond and Brandon; sister Mildred Barrett (Agnes Pratt Home); sisters-n-law: Nancy and Aggie Rollings; nieces: Barbara, Joan, Diane, Betty, Sandra; nephews John; Also extended members of the Rollings and Cleary families and a large circle of friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, February 7th, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Church, Mundy Pond Road. COLLINS, Eugene Joseph – passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at the L.A. Miller Centre, on Wednesday, February 09, 2005, age 79 years. CROWDELL, Agnes Mary – Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, Agnes Mary Crowdell, retired civil servant and last surviving member of the Crowdell family in Newfoundland. Predeceased by her brothers: James and John and her sister Mary. Remembered by her devoted friends and caregivers, Shaun and Loretta Dobbin, a wide circle of special and supportive friends including, Bruce and Connie King, Daphne and Lloyd Rees and Catherine Whelan. Also leaving to mourn the nieces and nephews or the Crowdell family in staten Island, New York. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. CROKE, Capt. Michael J. – Passed peacefully away at his residence in St. John’s on Tuesday, February 08, 2005, Captain Michael Croke, formerly of St. Brendan’s, Bonavista Bay, age 94. Predeceased by his wife Anne, 1996, brothers: Thomas and Louis and sisters: Kathleen, Frances, Mary Ann and his infant sister. Leaving to mourn five sons: Richard (Margaret), Felix (Linda), Michael (Pat), Albert, Leonard (Joan), all of St. John’s; three daughters: Mary (Joe Ryan) St. Paul, Minn.; Kathleen (Wayne Parsons), St. John’s; and Frances (Brian Lemon), Whitby, Ontario; eighteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Patricia; brother Joseph, St. John’s; sisters-in-law: Catherine Croke, Toronto and Rita O’Rielly, St. John’s; brother-in-law Richard Beresford, St. Brendan’s; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Rose Frances Duff
DUFF, Rose Frances – Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on February 27, 2005. Rose Duff (nee Bransfield), beloved wife of Gerry. Leaving to mourn sons Aiden (Pinky), Noel (Diane); daughters Elaine, Susan (Jack Botsford), Joanne (Mike Walsh); sisters Elizabeth Bransfield, Marie Evans, Gertrude Puszewski; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; residents and staff (extended family) of Chancellor Park and a large number of friends and relatives. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Monday Feb. 28th from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius Tenth Church. Thomas Michael Evoy
EVOY, Thomas Michael – of Harricott, passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, February 09, 2005, age 67 years. Predeceased by his wife Cecilia; parents Andrew and Violet and brothers: Patrick and Andrew. Leaving to mourn his brothers: Frank, Harricott; Ned (Betty), Logy Bay; and Jerry (Mabel), Bryans Cove; sisters: Eileen Young (Harvey), Arizona; Annie St. George, Carbonear; Trudy, Toronto; Edna Folk, Toronto; Marie Eddy, Goose Bay; and Hannah Harvey, Florida; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Upon his request, cremation has take place.

Kenneth Joseph Griffin

HEARN, Mary Frances (nee Butler) - Passed peacefully away at St. Vincent's Home in Halifax on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, in the presence of her loving family, in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Raymond Peter Hearn in 1983. Leaving to mourn and to celebrate her life, six children: Carmelita A. Hearn, Halifax, Geraldine (Leon) Fitzgerald, Dartmouth, Francis J. Hearn, St. John's, Brian (Melvie) Hearn, St. John's, Clare (Charles) Oldford, Point Edward, NS and Raymond A. Hearn, Watertown, NY; nine grandchildren: Krista Wall, Clare Fitzgerald, Lisa Hearn, Tina Thompson, Christopher Oldford, Joseph Oldford, Mary Oldford, Amanda Hearn and Bobbie Fahey; five great-grandchildren: Kandace, Jenna, Victoria, Ryan and Jake; three sisters: Margaret (California), Kay (Winnipeg) and Rita (Washington State); also several nieces and nephews and a wide circle of relatives and friends. Resting one night at Dartmouth Funeral Home and Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Caul's Funeral Home in St. John's. Visiting hours Sunday afternoon (2-4 p.m.) and Sunday evening (7-9 p.m.). Funeral Mass will take place at St. Teresa's Church on Mundy Pond Road at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 2005. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Retired employee of Newfoundland Power. Geraldine Mary Kavanagh
KAVANAGH, Geraldine Mary (Geri) (nee Fitzgerald) – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine (Geri) Mary Kavanagh, age 55, after a long and courageous 8 year battle with cancer, on February 2nd, 2005, at the Health Sciences Centre. Predeceased by her father Vincent Fitzgerald and mother and father-in-law, Anne and George Kavanagh. She leaves to mourn her husband and best friend John; her darling and devoted children: Kimberly (Sujinder Juneja), Steven (Susan Wilkins) and Jonathan. Also leaving to mourn her mother Blanche and step-father Jack Butler; sister Dorothy (Frank Handrigan), brother Bert (Paula Brocklehurst) in Ottawa; sisters-in-law Patricia (Gerry Corbett), Carolyn (Jacobus Korstanje); brothers-in-law: Brian (Kathryn) in Surrey, BC; and Bas (Helen); 18 nieces and nephews, one grand-nephew; as well as many other relatives and friends, and special Aunt Theresa Kavanagh. Fondly remembered by her bridge club, hiking club, friends, former colleagues and ex-students of Holy Heart High School, where she proudly taught for 30 years, as well as her international support group, BCANS. Helen Marie Kavanagh
KAVANAGH, Helen Marie – Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Monday, February 07, 2005, age 91 years. Predeceased by her parents, Garrett and Mary (Byrne) Kavanagh; her sisters: Madeline, Agnes and Mary and her brothers: Charles, John and Stan. She is lovingly remembered by her dear friends, Iris Kendall, Sr. Mary Celine, the Stack Family, the Ryan Family , her cousins and her grand-niece Lisa McClelland (Bruce) and family. She will also be remembered by the residents and staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, especially the Pastoral Care Staff. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Left to mourn and cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Hannah (nee Brewer); his brothers Gerry, James and Aiden and many nieces and nephews; also a large circle of extended family and friends, Bernadette and Glen Kolonel, Geraldine and John Watson; supportive care givers Eugene Lane, Peter Tucker and Charlie Murphy, who treated him with good care and respect.
