John Achtemichuk
John F. Achtemichuk was born on June 5, 1912 on the family farm in the Rhein district; a son of Fillip and Zoia ( Nee Gnyp ) Achtemichuk. He was raised on this farm and received his education at the New Canadian School east of Rhein. John was united in marriage to Mary Todoschuk on October 19, 1941 at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church north of Rhein. Together they lived and worked on the family farm where they raised four children. Farming was his life and he enjoyed every minute of it until his retirement in December 1979 when he and Mary took up residence in Rhein. John was a loving father and grandfather and great grandfather who always looked forward to his families visits. He was a faithful member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church; both on the farm and in Rhein. After his retirement he still enjoyed keeping busy and took pride in his yard and garden and loved working in his garage fixing small engines in the summer and woodwork in the winter. John enjoyed playing cards and shuffleboard at the seniors' centre as well as the visits from many friends and neighbours. Peacefully on Friday evening, November 9, 2001 in the presence of his family John entered eternal rest at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. He was 89 years of age.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories his loving wife Mary. His son Raymond ( Janice ) of Blackfolds, Alta. Two daughters: Evelyn Schnell of Yorkton, Sask. and Dorothy ( Tom ) Anaka of Canora, Sask. A son - in - law Raymond Bilous of Rhein, Sask. John also leaves his ten grandchildren: Adrianne ( Craig ), Lynda ( Wes ) Cecilia ( Jim ), Jason, Fred, Murray, Joshua ( Amber ), James ( Lisa ), Rocklin, Ryan; seven great - grandchildren: Jared, Brendon, Taylor, Jordon, Jessica, Carly, Jenna along with many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father in 1951, his mother in 1963. Four brothers: Alex in 1954, Metro in 1964, George in 1987 and Ted in 1997. Also two sisters Effie Andrusiak in 1982, Nettie in infancy; a daughter Sylvia Bilous in 1994 and a grandson Devon Royce in 1982.

Mary Achtemichuk
Mary Achtemichuk, wife of the late John F. Achtemichuk, formerly of Rhein, entered eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in the presence of her family at Aspen Bluffs Villa in Yorkton. She was 79 years and 11 months of age. Mary was born on May 31, 1923 on the family farm in the Rhein district, the eldest daughter of Mike and Anne (nee Koroluk) Todoschuk. She was raised on the farm and received her education at Rhein. Mary was united in marriage to John F. Achtemichuk on October 19, 1941 at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church, north of Rhein. Together they lived and worked on the family farm where they raised their four children until their retirement in December of 1979, where they took up residence in Rhein. Mary loved to spend many hours in her garden. She also took pride in her knitting and sewing. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and shuffle board with her many friends and family. In June of 2002, Mary took up residence in Yorkton. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always enjoyed visits from her family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty years, John who passed away on November 9, 2001; her parents, Mike and Anne, her daughter Sylvia Bilous in 1994; grandson Devin Royce in 1982; brothers Metro Todoschuk and John Brischuk, sister Lena Boehm and an infant sister Evelyn. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Raymond (Janice) of Blackfolds AB; daughters Evelyn Schnell of Yorkton and Dorothy (Tom) Anaka of Canora; son-in-law, Raymond Bilous of Rhein; ten grandchildren, Joshua (Amber), James (Lisa), Cecilia (Jim), Jason, Fred, Murray, Rocklin, Ryan, Adrianne (Craig), and Lynda (Wes); seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Jessica, Jared, Brendon, Taylor, Carly and Jenna. Also two brothers, Bill of Hamilton, Ontario and Stanley of Edmonton, Alberta; three sisters, Martha Brischuk of Kamsack, Helen (Jerry) McKay of Brantford ON and Rose (Ed) Robertus of Rhein; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends.
Prayer services were held on Thursday evening, May 15, 2003 from Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Yorkton. The funeral service was held on Friday morning, May 16, 2003 from Holy Transfiguration Church. Rev. Father Richard Ehrmantraut officiated. The cantor, William Kozey, assisted by members of the Parish Choir led in the singing of the responses. The crossbearer was Bill Semeniuk, the bannerbearers were Ted Prokopchuk and Wendel Gnyp. The casketbearers were Jason, Fred and Murray Schnell, Joshua and James Achtemichuk, Rocklin & Ryan Anaka, and Jared and Brendon Peppler. The Interment took place in the Garden of Crucifixion at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.

Orest Achtemichuk
Mr. Orest Achtemichuk of Yorkton passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at his home following a period of failing health. He was 60 years of age. Orest, the youngest son of Metro and Olga (nee Kowalyshen) Achtemichuk was born on April 5, 1941 at Rhein, Saskatchewan. At the age of five, his family moved to Yorkton. Here he attended Burke School and Yorkton Collegiate Institute, graduating in 1957. Orest helped with the family farm and was very active in hockey and baseball. The hightlight was being accepted to try-out camp with a major league baseball team in Tampa, Florida. In 1960 Orest began to work for an automotive parts wholesaler and was later transferred to Regina, Winnipeg and Edmonton. In 1968 he left the wholesaler and worked on the oil rigs, Department of Highways in Bridge Construction and at a Chipboard Mill in Hudson Bay. In 1974 he returned to Yorkton where he worked in sales of automotive and agricultural parts. His last venture before retirement was operating a convenience store on Darlington Street. On October 10, 1975 Orest married Heather Barr.
Predeceased by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Arsany and Levina Achtemichuk, Orest is survived by a daughter Terri of Edmonton, AB; brothers Carl (Yvette) of Rhein and Zenovie (Betty) of Surrey, BC; nieces and nephews Dr. Garry Achtemichuk, Holly Neibergall, Gregory, Timmy and Christopher Achtemichuk.
The funeral service was held on Saturday, August 25, 2001 at Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Richard Ehrmantraut officiating. The cantor, Mike Sitko assisted by members of the Parish Choir led in the singing of the responses. The cross bearer was Fred Achtemichuk. The Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Julian and Nestor Trach, Christopher, Garry and Ed Achtemichuk and Boris Kowalyshen serving as the casket bearers. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.

Nellie Aichele
Nellie Aichele (nee Stetz), age 86 years of Yorkton, formerly Saltcoats, Saskatchewan. passed away peacefully in her home in the early hours of Christmas morning, December 25, 2001. Nellie was born October 6, 1915 and grew up on the family farm in the Fenwood and Willowbrook districts. She attended Central School near Willowbrook. On October 4, 1936, Nellie married Henry Aichele in Yorkton. The couple resided in Winnipeg for nine years. In 1945 they moved to the Saltcoats district where together they made their home on the farm. Nellie had a true love for the land and the simple pleasures of looking after the farm, farm animals, love of nature, her flowers, gardening and family. After her husband's passing in 1976, Nellie moved to Yorkton. Nellie enjoyed exchanging her many fond memories of family and farm stories and had a shoe box of pictures to share.
Nellie leaves to mourn her passing, her two sons, Lloyd of Yorkton and Richard (Marie) of Saskatoon; four daughters, Mrs. Walter (Joyce) Lechman of Saskatoon; Mrs. Wayne (Dolores) Connolly of McLean; Ms. Gwen Aichelle of Edmonton and Mrs. John (Lori) Weingartner of Regina. Gramma will be greatly missed by her 12 grandchildren, Nichole Aichinger, Candice Weingartner, Kristen Weingartner, Garry Lechman, Brenda Lechman, Curtis Lechman, Kim Pinay, Shelly Hubble, Trevor Connolly, Jody Trischuk, Chelsey Aichele and Kristy Aichele and 5 great grandchildren, Austin Aichele, Paige Pinay, Jolene Pinay, Kyle Lechman and Chad Lechman. She will be fondly remembered by her three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Bourdeau of Regina; Mrs. Janet Blazeiko of Regina and Mrs. Diane Darnel of Regina. Special cousin and friend Rose Verhaag will greatly miss Nellie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mary Stetz ; her beloved husband Henry and an infant child; four brothers, John, Nick, Peter, Howard and her sister Anne Blazeiko.
Prayer services were held on Friday, December 28th at the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home with Rev. Father Bryan Bayda, C.Ss.R. officiating. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, December 29th at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Dmytro Dnistrian, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. St. Mary's Funeral Choir led in the singing of the responses. The cross bearer and epistle reader was Nicole Aichinger. The Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Trevor Connolly, Bill Hubble, Gerry Pinay, Garry Lechman, Curtis Lechman and Derek Trischuk serving as the casket bearers. Memorials can be directed to the Heart & Stroke Foundation as gifts of remembrance. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.

Mary Anaka
It is with profound sadness the family of Mary Anaka announce her sudden passing on Monday, August 25, 2003 at the age of 81 years. Mary was born on April 22, 1922 in the Gorlitz district, a daughter of Alex and Stella (nee Romaniuk) Procyshen. She was raised on the family farm and attended Ukraina School. On October 15, 1944 Mary was united in marriage to Eli Anaka. The couple farmed in the Gorlitz district and were blessed with three children, Richard, Darlene and Robert. She was a warm and caring person who was extremely devoted to her family. Mom, you have endured all your challenges and we are very proud of the courage with which you faced them. May you now �Rest in Peace.�
Mary was predeceased by her parents; three brothers Pete (Regina), George (Yorkton) and Will (Gorlitz). She leaves to cherish her memory her family, husband Eli; son Richard of Saskatoon, daughter Darlene (Gary) May of Chase, B.C., and son Robert of Kamloops, B.C.; grandddaughters Shanda and Sheena May of Vancouver, B.C.; one brother Matt (Vicky) Procyshen of Gorlitz; three sisters, Lena Wiwchar of Regina, Susie Shouchuk of Yorkton, and Nellie Wasyliw of Canora; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Prayer services were held on Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 29, 2003 at the Family Centre with Rev. Fr. Rodion Luciuk of St. Mark's Orthodox Church officiating. Cantor, Father Tikhon led in the singing of the responses. Serving as honourary bearers were Nellie Wasyliw, Vicky Procyshen, Teenie Dutka and Pauline Slowski. The Interment followed in the Garden of St. John, Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Ed Anaka, Steve Procyshen, Wayne Unyi, Harvey Wasyliw, Henry Wasylyshen and Bill Heshka serving as the casket bearers. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.

Gertrude Anderson
Gertrude Olga Anderson (nee Kilpatrick) was born in Rivers, Manitoba on April 11, 1910. She passed away in Yorkton on January 31, 2003 with daughters Beverly and Shirley at her side.
Predeceased by her husband Gust in 1990. Dear mom of Doreen, Shirley, Beverly (Elvin), Barry (Eileen), Dale (Eileen); dearest grandma of Diane, Gary (Deb), Lee (Marilyn), Anthony (Rosa), Nancy (Dale), Sharon (Calvin), Len, Lynda (Garnet), Darryl (Cathy), Jolynn (Jeff), Tammy (Todd); and special great grandma of Kalen, Brandy, Chandra, Daryle, Scott, Elisha, Eric, Danielle, Carissa, Alanna, Kendra, Connor, Ross, Amanda, Vanessa, Brady, Dyllan, Jordan and Jade. Cremation.
According to Mom's wishes a private family service was conducted by Sheila Lavender of St. Andrew's United Church, Yorkton. Eulogy by nephew Roy Ellingson of Minnedosa, MB. Memorial donations to Bredenbury Lights and/or Bredenbury Lions (c/o Adrian McLachlan PO Box 85, Bredenbury,Sk S0A 0H0). Arrangements entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.

Wasyl Andreyciw
Mr. Wasyl Andreyciw of Benito entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 11, 2000 at the Swan River Valley Hospital. He was 97 years, 11 months, 13 days of age. Wasyl, a son of Theodore and Anna was born on November 29, 1902 at Iwankiw, Borschiw, Western Ukraine. In 1928 he immigrated to Canada. Wasyl's northern work venture took him to The Pas, MB, sawmills on the Saskatchewan River for a short time. Soon after he accepted a job of building the railway track to the Port of Churchill, MB. After several years of work there he decided to check the Peace River, AB, country in hope of a homestead. While working at Churchill he had met a gentleman from Arran, SK. Wasyl came to the area south of Arran with him. It was here that he purchased a quarter of land and began farming. Besides raising sheep, cattle and bees for honey, Wasyl kept busy in his blacksmith shop sharpening plough shares and fixing machinery for neighbours. Many times he received no pay for his hard physical work. He enjoyed working with wood and doing carpentry work. During his life he built several spinning wheels, a variety of furniture and numerous caskets for neighbours. In the latter part of 1950 Wasyl was joined by Andriana Wolf and her family. They continued to work and reside on the farm until October, 1972 when they moved to Benito, MB. During his retirement, Wasyl continued with his love for woodwork by building furniture and several grandfather's clocks. He also loved gardening and often experimented with new varieties of vegetables. Up until two years ago, Wasyl would bake cakes twice a week and walk uptown for groceries. In his spare time Wasyl enjoyed reading his Ukrainian newspapers, keeping a diary and doing bookkeeping until two years ago.
Preceased by his parents, a sister in Ukraine and his wife Andriana in 1997; Wasyl leaves to cherish his memory a step-daughter Verna (Metro) Kobelka of Swan River, MB; a step son Victor (Christine) Wolf of Arran, SK; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Prayer services were held on Tuesday, November 14th at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Arran. Funeral services continued on Wednesday, November 15th at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church with Rev. Father Ivan Petrouchtchak officiating. The cantor, Mike Brischuk, assisted by members of the parish choir led in the singing of the services. The crossbearer was Mike Makuch and the sacristan was Tony Repula. The Interment followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Kamsack with Henry Wolf, Bill Kobelka, Carol Coville, Louise Wolf, Ken Kobelka and Larry Kobelka serving as the casket bearers. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home, Yorkton.

Metro Anthony
Mr. James Anthony of Winnipeg passed away on Monday, October 28, 2002 at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg. He was 67 years of age. Metro James Anthony was born on March 3, 1935 in the MacNutt District, a son of John & Anna (Nee Shewchuk) Anthony. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at a country school. At an early age he began working out and eventually moved to Winnipeg where he was employed for many years at New Flyer Industries, retiring in 2000. James leaves to mourn his passing his special friend Ethel Artimovich; his sister and brothers, Mary (Willie) Perpeluk of Yorkton, SK, John Anthony of Winnipeg, MB and Al (Cynthia) Anthony of Kelowna, BC.
Metro was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna and his brothers, Micheal, and Bill.
Prayers were held on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home, Yorkton. The funeral service was held on Friday, November 1, 2002 from the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home with Fr. Petro Anhel of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada officiating. The cantor was Walter Balabuk and the cross bearer was Alex Anthony. The Interment followed in the Dormition of the Virgin Mary 'Shewchuk' parish Cemetery with Al Anthony, John Anthony, Tom Antony, Andrew Antony, Willie Perpeluk and Russell Shewchuk serving as the casket bearers. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home, Yorkton.

Walter Antonishyn
Mr. Walter Antonishyn of Ituna passed away peacefully on July 19, 2003 at the Regina General Hospital with his family by his side. He was 79 years of age. Walter was born on September 11, 1923 in the Ituna district. He was the son of Steve and Mary (nee Wingerak). Walter attended school until grade 10 at File Hills School. On June 1, 1951 Walter was united in marriage to Rose Mandziak at Ituna. They were blessed with three children: Beverly, Vivian and Wayne. On May 1, 1965 Walter was united in marriage to Lillian Buczulak at Ituna. They were blessed with one child: Diane. Walter's hobbies included curling, golfing, camping and a good game of cards with his friends and family, having company and those memorable occasions spent with his family. Walter was a chartered member of the Ituna and District Lions Club for 39 years. He was actively involved in many projects with this organization. Walter was also chairman of the Ituna Co-op and a member of thte SaSK Wheat Pool Committee for many years. Walter was a true farmer at heart. Even after moving into town, Walter actively farmed until this spring when his health would no longer allow it. When Walter wasn't farming, he kept himself busy in his shop. His hope never wavered nor his love for life, family and farm as his disease took hold of his body. Walter was a proud man with great determination that he maintained until the end.
Walter was predeceased by his wife Rose in 1961, his father in 1969, his mother in 1985, his sister Rose in 1971and his brother Joe in 1996. Walter leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 38 years, Lillian. Four children: Beverly ( Pat ) Mills of Regina, SK, Vivian (Norman) Martin, Wayne (Susan) Antonishyn, Diane (Claire) Braden all of Ituna, SK Ten granchildlren: Charlene (nee Mills) (Stuart) Dawes of Saskatoon, SK, Shane Mills of Brooks, AB, Chantel and Sheri Martin of Ituna, SK, Angela Antonishyn of Balgonie, SK, Jolene Antonishyn of Regina, SK, Shaun and Kimberly Antonishyn, Bailey and Hannah Braden all of Ituna, SK; one great grandchild Britain Dawes of Saskatoon, SK Also a brother, Bronie (Zita) Antonishyn of Ituna, SK; a sister Helen (Ian) Anderson of Winnipeg, MB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and his many other relatives and friends.
Prayer services were held on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 from St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Ituna. The church choir, accompanied by the organist Paulette Van der helm led the congregation in singing the music selections 'You Are Near' and 'Day Is Done'. The Rosary led by members of the Catholic Womens League proceeded. Mass of the Christian Burial was held Wednesday, July 23, 2003 from St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father J. Pat Murphy as celebrant. Placing of the Pall was done by Walter's wife, Lillian and his children, Wayne Diane, Beverly and Vivian. The church choir accompanied by the organist, Paulette Van der helm led the congregation in singing the music selections 'Be Not Afraid', 'The Lord's My Shepherd', 'Here I Am Lord', 'May Flights of Angels' and 'How Great Thou Art'. The readers were Angela Antonishyn and Kimberly Antonishyn. The intercessions were given by Charlene Dawes. Crossbearer was Chantel Martin. Honorary casketbearers were Walter's grandchildren, Charlene, Shane, Angela, Jolene, Kimberly, Shaun, Chantel, Sheri, Bailey, Hannah, great grandchild, Britain, also Walter's brother Bronie and sister Helen as well as all others who shared in Walter's life. Walter was laid to rest in the Ituna Roman catholic Cemetery with David Anderson, Danny Antonishyn, Jolene Antonishyn, Shaun Antonishyn, Steven Antonishyn and Shane Mills serving as active casketbearers.

Eva Arnott
Mrs. Eva Arnott of Yorkton passed away quietly following a brief illness at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, August 29, 2001. She was 89 years of age. Eva May Arnott was born on October 18, 1911 at Saltcoats, Saskatchewan; a daughter of William and Alice (nee Harvey) Bradshaw. She began her education at the Saltcoats School and finished at the Boakeview School. As a young woman Eva worked out for farm families in the area as a housekeeper. She eventually moved to Winnipeg. On July 23, 1938 she was united in marriage to Keith Arnott at International Falls, Minnesota. The couple farmed at Atwater until 1960 when they moved to Yorkton. Eva and Keith lived quietly in retirement, enjoying the company of their family and many friends. Eva kept busy with various handiwork items as well as tending to the home. In younger years she had been a member of the Sweet Adelines and had enjoyed the many friendships made in the group.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Keith on August 6th of this year, her parents, a brother Frederick Bradshaw, and by sisters Winnifred Bradshaw, Katie Wiley and Hilda Mayoh. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Marian and her husband Stewart McAlpine of Esterhazy; son Kenneth and his wife Janet of Saskatoon; grandchildren Robbie McAlpine (Carolyn) of Calgary and Scott McAlpine (Lisa) of Regina, Reid Arnott of Saskatoon, Jennifer Arnott of Saskatoon and Megan Arnott of Australia; four great-grandchildren, Adam, Teresa, Michael and Meagan (McAlpine); one sister, Minnie Hughes of Saltcoats; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The memorial service was held on Monday, September 3, 2001 in the Garden of St. Matthew at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Rev. Susan Griffith officiated. A duet of Edna and Orville Paulson sang Beyond the Sunset. The urnbearer was Jennifer Arnott and Rob McAlpine gave the scripture reading. A reception followed at the Family Centre. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.

Keith Arnott
Mr. Keith Arnott, beloved husband of Eva Arnott of Yorkton passed away on Monday, August 6, 2001 at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home. He was 87 years of age. Keith Arnott was born on June 8, 1914 at Eastend, Saskatchewan, the eldest child of Levi and Ruth (nee Waugh) Arnott. He was raised on the family farm and attended school at Eastend, Kinbrae and Grenfell. Following his education, Keith worked for farmers in the district, later working at Fort Francis in the logging camps. On July 23, 1938, Keith married Eva Bradshaw at International Falls, Minnesota. The couple farmed at Atwater until 1960 when they moved to Yorkton where Keith was employed at Morris Industries until his retirement in 1981. Fishing, camping and sports were favourite pastimes, but the farm was always in his heart. This was demonstrated by the countless hours spent after his retirement working the land on the McAlpine farm. Keith had also been a member of the United Commercial Travellers. Keith & Eva resided on Gladstone Avenue for a number of years before moving into their Bradbrooke Drive apartment.
Predeceased by his parents and a brother Harvey, he leaves to cherish his memory his wife Eva of Yorkton; daughter Marian and her husband Stewart McAlpine of Esterhazy; son Kenneth and his wife Janet of Saskatoon; grandchildren Robbie McAlpine (Carolyn) of Calgary and Scott McAlpine (Lisa) of Regina, Reid Arnott of Saskatoon, Jennifer Arnott of Saskatoon and Megan Arnott of Australia; four great grandchildren, Adam, Teresa, Michael & Meagan (McAlpine); brothers Garry (Zelda) of Cardinal, ON, Vic of Esterhazy, Archie of Yorkton, Andy (Murial) of Victoria BC, Norman (Irene) of Christina Lake BC; sisters, Ruby Graham (Robert) of Bredenbury and Jean Holland of Bredenbury, numerous nieces, nephews, and his many other relatives and friends. His quick wit and sense of humour will be missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, August 9, 2001 in the Garden of St. Matthew at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Reid Arnott as urnbearer. Rev. Daryl Woods of St. Andrew's United Church officiated and Jeff Niebergall gave the Scripture readings. The reception followed at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.

Colin Azure
Mr. Colin Joseph Azure of Regina and formerly of Yorkton passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2003 at Regina; he was 44 years of age. Colin was born on April 7, 1959 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan; a son of Dora Azure. When he was two years of age his mother died. Colin went to live with his aunt and uncle Lillian and Eugene Brazeau and their family. They became Colin's parents. He received his education at St. Alphonsus School and St. Joseph's Junior High before beginning work: first at Leon's Manufacturing and then moving to different companies before settling in Regina and working for Flynn Canada as a roofer. This is where he continued to work until his passing Colin was a talented athlete. He enjoyed playing many sports including hockey and football and loved to hunt and fish. When he lived in Yorkton he was involved as a boxer in the Yorkton Boxing Club. Colin also was talented in the art of refinishing furniture.
He leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life his special companion Robin Pelletier of Regina. His step parents Lillian Brazeau of Yorkton and Eugene (Muriel) Brazeau of Norquay, SK. His brothers: Laurie (Patty) of Fort, Saskatchewan Alberta, Arnold (Leslie) of Regina, SK. and Jerry (Joan Nepinak) of Yorkton. His step - brothers and sisters: Laurie (Marilyn) Brazeau of Calgary, AB., Nancy (Rene) Shewkenek of Yorkton, SK., Nelson (Sylvia) Brazeau of Yorkton, SK., Wayne (Cheryle) Brazeau of Fort Qu'Appelle, Sk., and Michelle ( Les) Fraser of LaJord, SK. along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Dora; brothers: Stanley and Wally, step-brother Ben and step-sister Pauline.
Prayer services were held on Sunday evening, September 7, 2003. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, September 8, 2003 from the Chapel of Bailey's Funeal Home Yorkton with Deacon Urban Kiernan of St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church Officiating. The organist lead the congregation in a hymn. Nancy Shewkenek was the guitarist and sang the Hymn: 'ConsiderThe Lillies' with Ricky Flamont singing 'Ride Out Your Storm'. The Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Nelson, Ralph and Mitch Brazeau, Les Fraser, Joe Vitkauskas and Barry Pelletier serving as Casket Bearers. Services directed by Bailey's Funeral Home Yorkton.

Wallace Azure
Wallace Milton Azure of Yorkton left his earthly world peacefully with his family by his side on Friday August 31, 2001 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. He was fifty two years of age. Wally was born on July 18, 1949 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Wally married Donna Cooney in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They lived in Winnipeg, Regina and Calgary where Wally was self-employed for many years as a drywaller in construction. Following an injury Wally returned to the Springside district where he lived on a farm. Wally loved living on the farm and raising horses. He enjoyed playing billiards and reading. Wally was always there to offer a helping hand to his relatives and friends, often without being asked. He was always very respectful of his elders and enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
Wally was predeceased by his mother, Dora Azure; stepsister and brother, Pauline and Ben Brazeau. He will be sadly missed by his children, Laurie (Sherry) of Moose Jaw, Tammy Turner of Calgary, and Doralee of Toronto; three grandchildren, Courtney Skye, Sydney Dawn and Tia; brothers Laurie (Patty) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Arnold (Leslie) of Regina, Collin of Regina and Jerry of Yorkton, step-mother and special godmother Lillian Brazeau of Yorkton; step-sisters, Nancy (Rene), Michelle (Les); step-brothers, Laurie (Marilyn), Nelson (Sylvia) and Wayne (Cheryl); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great niece and nephews, relatives and friends.
A service of comfort followed by a wake was held Monday September 3, 2001 at the Yorkton Friendship Centre with Pastor Kenneth Hare of the Revival Tabernacle Spirit Filled Church Alive. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday September 4, 2001 from the Yorkton Friendship Centre with Pastor Kenneth Hare officiating. Nancy Shewkenek with members of the Revival Tabernacle led the congregation in the singing of the hymns Sweet By and By and What A Friend We Have In Jesus. Nancy sang a solo, Someone To Care. Ricky Flamont gave a musical tribute. The Honorary Bearers were everyone who knew and loved Wally. Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Kelly Brazeau, Darcy Brazeau, Bobby Brazeau, Shane Brazeau, Joe Vitkauskas and Garry Pelletier as the casketbearers. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
