ALLEN, Adeline Matilda - It is with great sorrow that the family of Adeline Matilda (MacQuarrie) Allen, 74, of Upper Onslow, Colchester Co., announce her passing on Saturday, April 17, 1999 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. She was dearly loved by son, James (Barb), Fredericton; David (Susan), South Hazelton, BC; daughters, Debra Jamieson (Carl), Jarvis, Ontario; Patti Carter, Truro; granddaughters, Kimberly Edmondson, Melissa Allen, Penny Coburn, Cyndy Murray, Brandy Jamieson, Brandy and Cara Gerow; grandsons, Sean Murray and Jody Jamieson; seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepmother, Mrs. Myrtle MacQuarrie; brothers, Reg, Ontario; Charles and Wayne, both of Truro; sisters, Francie Geddess, Stellarton; Margie Cavanaugh, Truro. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred, in October 1998; her parents, Peter and Deborah (Geddes) MacQuarrie; sister, Eris; brother, Jamie. Mrs. Allen was employed by the Colchester-East Hants School Board for 20 years and was a member of the Onslow United Church, UCW. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 20, in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, Rev. Janet Blois officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley, Colchester Co., donations in her memory may be made ot the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice. "Sent down to Us."

AYLES, Donald Edward - 62, Halifax, passed away peacefully, April 18, 1999, at home. Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late Jimmy and Viola (Wilson) Ayles, Moncton. He is survived by his devoted loving wife, Sylvia; daughters, Donna Brandal, Lower Sackville; Joan Langille, Windsor; Laura Thompkins, Dartmouth; sons, Alfred, Peterborough; Donald Kenneth, Timberlea; brothers, Wayne and Everett, both of Ontario; sisters, Audrey, Sussex, NB; Joan, Ontario; mother-in-law, Muriel Tanner, Fairview; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by twin brothers in infancy; brothers, Orvill and Jackie; sisters, Jean and Anne. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Cremation has taken place. COOKE, Marjorie Louise - 73, Springville, Pictou Co., passed away Friday, April 16, 1999 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Waterville, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Robie Francis and Roxie (Dykens) Pelton. She had been a resident of Springville for the past 25 years, prior to which she resided in Ontario for 28 years. She is survived by her husband, Chester; son, Vern (Edna), Springville; sister, Doris (Mrs. Basil Major), Oromocto, NB. She was predeceased by sisters, Martha, Florence, Viola, Susie; brothers, Charles, George, Emerson, Arthur, Kenneth and Chester. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Springville Cemetery. EMERY (MacKay), Della - Riverton Heights, Riverton, passed away Sunday, April 18, 1999, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville, he was the daughter of the late Matthew and Anna Corbett. She had been a resident of Riverton Heights since 1992, prior to which she had resided in Riverton and Durham. She was a former employee of the Riverview Adult Residential Centre. She was a member of the Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton. She is survived by daughters, Joyce (Carl) Pederson, Watervale; Marion Dickie, Stellarton; son, Doug (June), Riverton; Wilbert, West Branch; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Duggan, New Glasgow. She was a member of St. Barnabus Anglican Church, Head of Chezzetcook. Surviving are son, Joseph F. Smith, Clam Bay; adopted son, John G. Keizer, Dartmouth; a granddaughter. She was predeceased by her first husband Frederick, Smith; second husband, John B. Keizer; daughter, Paige M. Smith. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 20, in St. Barnabus Anglican Church, Head of Chezzetcook, Rev. David Garrett officiating. Reception to follow at The Birches. KIBYUK, Mabel - 86, of 19 4th Street, Birch Grove, passed away Sunday, April 18, 1999 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. Born in Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Butts) Snow. Mabel was a member of the MacKay Memorial United Church in Birch Grove, she was also a member of the UCW and the Ladies Auxiliary Fire Department, Birch Grove. Mable was a former member of the Birch Grove Ladies Bingo Club. She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Doyle, Pauline (Mrs. David Peterson), all of Birch Grove; Mary (Mrs. John Burke), Port Morien; four brothers, William, Glace Bay; Chesley and Andy, both of Birch Grove; Robert, Brampton, Ontario; five sisters, Louise Carson and Leah Ferguson, both of Sydney; Flora Antonello, Whitney Pier; Emily Lynk, Glace Bay; Sadie Snow, Birch Grove; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Kibyuk; son, Michael Jr., daughter-in-law, Bernice Kibyuk. Visitation will take place today, April 20, from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the V.J. Born June 5, 1916, in Beaver Bank, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Ester (Shunamon) Lively. She loved her family. She was a member of Church of The Good Shepherd. MacINNIS, Horace Edward - 85, Jersey Cove, Victoria Co., passed away April 17, 1999 in Alderwood Rest Home. Born in Skir Dhu, Victoria Co., he was a son of the late Neil and Jessie (Montgomery) MacInnes. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Indian Brook. He worked in the Sydney River area as a carpenter for over 50 years prior to his retirement in Jersey Cove. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, the former Mabel Boudreau; sons, William (Gwen), Wreck Cove; Neil (Fran), Point Edward; Delroy (Ann), Jersey Cove; daughter, Sylvia (Walter) Silver, Bolton, Ont.; brother, Daniel, Pasadena, Calif.; grandchildren, Sylvia, Mark, Sonya, Jason, Daniel; nephews, James MacInnes, Michigan. McALDEN, Florence May - 78, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Friday, April 16, 1999 in the Dartmouth General Hospital with her famiily at her side. Born in March 1921, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Bessie (Martell) Traise of Halifax. Florence was educated in Halifax and lived in the Halifax-Dartmouth area throughout her life. She worked for various companies during her career, but her husband and children were her prime concern. Florence did volunteer work for the Scotia Chapter Telephone Pioneers of America and was a member of Christ Church, Dartmouth, where she served on the Alter Guild and as a member of the ACW. She is survived by her husband, Chistopher S. McAlden; daughters, Judith, Dartmouth; Susann (McAlden) Williams and husband Philip, Hanslope, England; an "adopted" daughter, Marlene Bezanson, Dartmouth; one son, Christopher David and wife Diane (Nicholson) McAlden, Lower Sackville and their children, Amanda and Christopher who were the light of Florence's life, her pride and joy; one sister, Shirley Misener and husband Henry, Dartmouth. Cremation has taken place. Visiting will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 1999 in the A.L. Mattattal Funeral Home, Dartmouth. McDONALD, Noreen Helen - 64, Dartmouth, passed away April 17, 1999 in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Summerside, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Jean (Richards) Arsenault. She was retired from the Nova Scotia Hospital Laundry Services. She is survived by two sons, Harry, Toronto; Garry, Halifax; one daughter, Gail, Dartmouth; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Beaver, Dartmouth; two brothers, Earl, John, Ontario; four stepsisters, Bean Hines, Fannie King, Shirley Sampson, Gwen Whynot, Dartmouth; two stepbrothers, Morris Gullivar, Dartmouth; Murray Gullivar, Truro. She was predeceased by stepmother, Muriel Gullivar; one brother, Don Arsenault. Cremation has taken place. McLEAN, Dr. James Donaldson - 67, MB, Ch.B, F.R.C.S. (C), of Belcher Street, Port Williams, died suddenly at home April 18, 1999. Born in Achnacarry, Inverness-shire, Scotland, he was the only son of the late Isabelle and Thomas McLean. He studied medicine at Manchester University qualifying in 1956. He served in the Royal Army Medical Corp for three years and was then in general practice in the Yorkshire Dales before bringing his family to Canada in 1967. Initially he practised in Fredericton Junction, NB, and then in Guysborough, NS, before beginning a residency program in Otolaryngology at Dalhousie University, Halifax. Upon completion he moved to the Annapolis Valley to practise in Kentville. He was the beloved husband of wife Edna and loving father of Tommy and wife Anne, Deep River, Ontario; Sandy and wife Beth, Port Clinton, Ohio; Robin and wife Linda, Fredericton, NB; Alastair and wife Pat, Port Moody, BC; Angus and wife Margaret, Port Williams; Fiona and husband Tim, Halifax; Nancy, at home; 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Marjory, Blackpool, England. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, in W.C. Hiltz Funeral Parlour, Kentville. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, 1999 in St. John's Anglican Church, Church Street, Port Williams, Rev. Stephen Vail officiating. McLELLAN, Karl Leroy - 74, Economy, Colchester Co., passed away April 16, 1999 in the Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII. Born in Economy, he was a son of the late John A. and Vera M. (Marsh) McLellan. He was a veteran of the Secord World War, having served overseas from 1944-45. He was employed with Canadian Pacific Railway as a checker in the warehouse in Toronto from 1951 until the time of his retirement in 1985, at which time he retired to Economy. He was a former member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Economy. He was an adherent of the Economy United Church and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles as a hobby. Surviving are brothers, Denzil W., Harvey E., Economy; two nieces, five nephews; a number of cousins. There will be no visitation. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 20, in Economy United Church, Rev. Roger Moore officiating. Burial in Economy Cemetery. MOIR, William "Billy" - 80, Beaver Bank, passed away at home April 19, 1999 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late John and Lora (Best) Moir. He was a longtime employee of the Bill Lynch Shows. He was owner and operator of the Villa Restaurant during the 1970s and 80s. He was an active member of the Surf Club, Halifax. He is survived by his wife, the former Gloria (Wilson) St. John; step-daughter, Dorothy Adams, Lower Sackville; son, Ken St. John, Beaver Bank; brother, Alex, Dartmouth; also surviving are nieces, nephews and grandsons. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Marjorie Purcell; sisters, Jean, Helen, Hazel. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today, April 20, with funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, Rev. Arthur Nash officiating. He was an employee of CNR for several years and was also a labourer. Surviving are daughters, Chloe, Judy, Georgina, Claire, Patricia; sons, Robert, Samuel; sister, Mary Martin, Welland, Ont.; numerous grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. RUSSELL, William Joseph "Bee" - of 31 Arch St., New Glasgow, died April 17, 1999 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was the second son of the late Stephen and Sara (MacGregor) Russell. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and the Stellarton Male Chorus. He had worked for Eastern Woodworkers Limited, Eastern Manufacturers Limited and Lenargo Industries Limited, from where he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grand and great-grandchildren and foster children, the outdoors, fishing, deer hunting, snow mobiling, four-wheeling. He also enjoyed working with wood, hockey and baseball. Surviving are his wife, the former Karen MacClure; daughters, Sarah, Charlottetown; Rachael, New Glasgow; son, Earl, Calgary; a granddaughter; former wife, Ola Smith Plant, Ottawa; son, Wade, Trenton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, James; sisters, Edna, Margaret, Marion, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews. TILLEY, Annie Eileen - 90, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, formerly of Sydney, died April 19, 1999 in the Northwood Manor in Halifax. Born in Glovertown, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Louise (Parsons) Sweetapple and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of The Salvation Army Sydney Citadel Corps. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Tilley; son, Gower, Boston, Mass.; daughter Joyce and husband Walter Howie, Sydney River; sisters, Jean Reid and Bessie Burridge; brother, Dawson Sweetapple, all of Newfoundland. She is survived by her daughters, Hilda and husband Owen MacPherson of Bellevile, Ont.; Joan and husband Arnold Hicks, Dartmouth; daughter-in-law, Una Tilley, Boston; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Sydney Memorial Chapel with visitation on April 21, from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral is scheduled for Thursday, April 22, 1999 at 2 p.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel Ltd. , Captain Sandra Stokes officiating. Family flowers only please. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to any charity.

WIGGINTON, Gordon Merle - 47, Halifax, passed away April 15, 1999 at home. Born in Halifax, he was the adopted son of Gordon and Audrey (O'Brien) Wigginton, Halifax. He was an employee of Canada Post for 23 years. He is by his former wife, Cathy Chapman; one brother, William "Billy", Montreal; sisters, Carrie, Toronto; Donna, Montreal; Marie, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Visiting and services have taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Altantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. Memorial donations may be made to any charity.
