Ila "Ikie" Shirley, 85, of Loveland, died Oct. 13, 2001, at Sierra Vista Health Care Center in Loveland.
She was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Pierce, to George J. and Mabel F. Ryan Koenig. She married John Shirley in Scottsbluff, Neb. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a cook and waitress and as a caregiver for the elderly.
Mrs. Shirley was a former resident of Fremont, Calif., and had lived in Loveland since 1990.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Loveland. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Shirley is survived by two sons, Donald W. Thiemann and wife Wilma of Moses Lake, Wash., and Ronald G. Thiemann and wife Kay of Santa Maria, Calif.; a daughter, Dieann J. Quint and husband Don of Montrose; a niece, Charlene Kirkpatrick and husband John of Loveland; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, six sisters and one granddaughter.
Cremation will be conducted. No services are scheduled.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Teddy Bears for Traumatized Children in care of Allnutt-Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, 80538.

Susan P. CORBETT
Susan P. CORBETT, 53, of Loveland died March 16, 2005, at her home.
She was born Feb. 3, 1952, in Queens, N.Y., to Frederick and Philomena (Nittoly) Ott. She graduated from high school in Rockaway, N.Y. She later graduated from Front Range Community College as an animal laboratory technician.
She joined in union to Thomas Gundersen on Sept. 25, 1999, in Springhill, Fla. She previously married Thomas Corbett in November 1973 in Queens, N.Y. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1998.
Mrs. Corbett worked as a manager of the Animal Lab Research Center at the University of Southern Florida. She retired in 2002 to move back to Colorado to be with her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was active in the Loveland Elks Lodge with her husband.
She enjoyed hiking and camping. She also enjoyed gardening and landscaping. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Gundersen of Loveland; a son, Michael Corbett and wife Betty of Loveland; a daughter, Tracy West and husband Jason of Loveland; stepsons Thomas Corbett and wife Barbara of Broad Channel, N.Y., and Kristian Gundersen of Tampa, Fla.; stepdaughters Suzanne Baldwin and husband Orin of Brooksville, Fla., and Janine
Dougherty and husband Michael of Broad Channel; brothers Frederick Ott and wife Joan, Charles Ott, and James Ott and wife Emily, all of Broad Channel; sister Judith Heaphey and husband John of Broad Channel; and three grandchildren, Mario Corbett, Thomas Corbett and Breanna West, all of Loveland.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Hartmann officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80537.

Marian Amelia (Platt) Yost
Marian Amelia (Platt) Yost, 94, of Red Cloud, Neb., died April 19, 2005, at Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud.
Services were April 23 at the Congregational Church in Red Cloud, with the Rev. Jon Hansen officiating. Burial was in Red Cloud Cemetery.
She was born July 2, 1910, in Red Cloud to Edward D. and Jennie (Cotting) Platt.
She is the mother of Susan Garcia and husband Gil of Loveland. She is also survived by several other relatives.
Simonson-Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud was in charge of arrangements.

Pete VELASQUEZ
Pete VELASQUEZ, 88, of Loveland died April 29, 2005, in his home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Wagon Mound, N.M., to Manuel and Julianita (Apodaca) Velasquez. He lived in the Loveland, Johnstown and Berthoud areas since 1930.
He married Phyllis Nadine Ornelas on July 20, 1935, in Loveland.
He was self-educated and worked for C&S Railroad until his retirement in 1972.
Mr. Velasquez was raised in the Catholic faith. He loved gardening, and in his younger years he enjoyed carpentry and working on cars. He enjoyed attending his grandson’s wrestling meets and loved baby sitting his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Loveland; sons Johnnie Velasquez of Loveland and Timothy Velasquez and wife Shirley of Loveland; daughters Ruth Lara and husband Santiago of Loveland, Mary Lou Adame and husband Plutarco “Jr.” of Las Vegas, N.M., Betty Vasquez and husband Andrew of Loveland, Nadine Velasquez and husband Steve Reiter of Everett, Wash., and Judy Buxmann and husband Rory of Loveland; 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons Pete Anthony (Tony) Velasquez, Jo Ben Velasquez and Jeffrey Velasquez; and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Hartmann officiating.
Interment will be at Rest-haven Memory Gardens.
Memorials are to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home and Crematory.

Leah Hope CIRCENIS
Leah Hope CIRCENIS, a 4-day-old infant, died April 29, 2005 in her Loveland home.
She was born April 25, 2005, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins to Edgar I. and Cherie R. Strahm Circenis.
She is survived by her parents, Edgar and Cherie Circenis of Loveland; brothers, Andrew, Isaac and Joshua Circenis of Loveland; sisters, Hannah, Elizabeth, Rebekah and Chloe Circenis of Loveland; grandparents, Andra Circenis of Latvia and Marilyn Strahm of Lincoln, Neb.; great-grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Anderson of Firth, Neb., and Milda Bets of Des Moines, Iowa.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Church of the Good Shepherd. Pastor Craig Swing of Summitview Community Church will officiate.
Burial will be at Loveland Burial Park.

Theresa M. “Terry” HAYES
Theresa M. “Terry” HAYES, 70, of Loveland, died April 29, 2005, at Hospice Center at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
She was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Solano County, Calif., to Robert E. and Juanita Silvan Hyatt. The family moved to Loveland and she attended Loveland schools. She met and married Orville
“Fred” Hayes in Raton. N.M., on April 26, 1957. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2004.
She had been employed with the Loveland Thompson School District as a bus driver. Following her retirement she had been a manicurist.
She and her husband traveled and returned to Loveland in 1999.
She loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and playing bingo.
She is survived by a son, Fred A. Hayes and wife Melody of Loveland; a daughter, Nita M. Fort and husband Larry of Fort Collins; a brother, John Hyatt and wife Linda of Canon City; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert James “Bob” Hayes on Aug. 25, 1973, and a grandson, Kenny Delaine Fort on May 25, 1976.
Viewing will be at services on Friday.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave. in Loveland.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Vincent Edward WARRINER
Vincent Edward WARRINER, Jr., 85, of Arvada and previously of Loveland, died April 29, 2005, at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge.
He was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Watertown, S.D., to Vincent Edward Warriner Sr. and Imogene (Wildman) Warriner. He graduated from Loveland High School in 1938.
He married Elaine Marian Proctor on June 7, 1942, in Loveland.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps 1942-45 during World War II. He worked as a registry clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1979. He moved to Arvada from Loveland in 1963.
He was past commander of the Loveland American Legion. He was a member of Arvada Presbyterian Church in Arvada and Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Loveland prior to that.
He enjoyed making ceramics and playing pool. He also enjoyed learning the computer and surfing the Internet. In his younger years he enjoyed fly fishing in the Big Thompson Canyon, and after his retirement he enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Warriner of Arvada; son Don Warriner of Centennial; daughter Diane Dumont and husband Hank of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandson Chad Warriner of Denver; granddaughter Shae Gawlak of Lakewood; great-grandsons Michael Keiv Gawlak and Lucas Vincent Gawlak, both of Lakewood; and sisters Karen Case and husband Lynn of Arvada, Glynn Fagerstone and husband Don of Hayes Center, Neb., and Judy Mays and husband Ken of Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Warriner, and two sisters.
Viewing will be at the church prior to services. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Arvada Presbyterian Church, 5592 Independence St., the Rev. Stan Jewell officiating.
Burial will be at Loveland Burial Park.

Naomi L. LONG
Naomi L. LONG, 91, of Loveland died April 30, 2005, at Loveland Good Samaritan Village Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 28, 1913, in Nowato County, Okla., to Lee and Allie Milliser Brookshire. The family moved to Caney, Kan., where she attended and graduated from Caney High School. She married Lloyd Albert Long Jan. 30, 1932, in Pawhuska, Okla.
After her husband became an Assembly of God minister, the couple lived in various communities. They came to Berthoud in 1950, where he served the Assembly of God Church. Later they served churches in Mead, Alamosa, Dove Creek and Windsor. Following retirement in 1964, they moved to Loveland and had lived here ever since.
Mrs. Long was a strong supporter of her husband’s profession and was active and supportive in the various avenues of his work. She was an excellent seamstress and cook.
In Loveland she was a volunteer at the hospital, library, chamber of commerce office and other community organizations. She was an active member and volunteer at Resurrection Fellowship.
She is survived by two sons, William L. Long of Greeley and David J. Long and wife Carolyn of Brighton; two daughters, Alberta Black and husband Neal of Loveland and Leah I. Theroux and husband Bill of Loveland; a brother, Don Brookshire and wife June of Homosassa Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Madge Tucker and husband “Tuck” of Norman, Okla., and Betty Jacobs and husband Bob of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Lloyd A. Long, who died June 15, 2000; a brother, Jim Brookshire; and a sister, Opal Long.
Viewing will be 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home and prior to services Thursday at Resurrection Fellowship.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Resurrection Fellowship, 6502 E. Crossroads Blvd.
Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection Fellowship.

Raymond KAUFMAN
Raymond KAUFMAN, 93, of Oshkosh, Neb., and formerly of Loveland, died April 30, 2005, at Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh.
He was born Feb. 4, 1912, in Gering, Neb., to Jacob and Mollie (Troudt) Kaufman. He married Marie “Mary” Schaffer Nov. 17, 1932, in Brighton.
The couple owned and operated several restaurants and bars in Nebraska and Colorado prior to retiring in 1975, when they moved to Loveland. Mr. Kaufman returned to Oshkosh in 2002.
He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Loveland.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spent many winters in Arizona.
He is survived by sons Ervin Kaufman and wife Jerre of North Platte, Neb., and Leonard “Marvin” Kaufman and wife Maria of Lewellen, Neb.; daughter Carol Knowski and husband Frank of Milliken; stepbrother Albert Loose and wife Irene of Gering; half-sisters Gladys Keller and husband Elmer and Betty Gross and husband Herman, all of Gering; stepsister Viola Lenhart of Lovell, Wyo.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie “Mary” Kaufman, on Jan. 7, 2002; infant twin daughters; two stepbrothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Wednesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
Burial will be at Loveland Burial Park.

Ronald ‘Ronnie’ TAULMAN
Ronald ‘Ronnie’ TAULMAN, 39, of Loveland, died of heart failure April 30, 2005, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
He was born Aug. 17, 1965, in Loveland, to Harold and Rosie Scheck Taulman. He graduated from Fort Collins High School. He lived in Loveland all of his life.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, NASCAR and darts. He was on several dart leagues. He enjoyed spending time with his two nephews, Zach and Josh, doing different things.
He is survived by a brother, Tim Girard of Loveland; a sister, Chris Brooks and husband Rodney of LaPorte; aunts, Bev and Bill Long of Arizona, Dee and George Warner of Greeley, Sharon and Eldon Hessler of Loveland, Karen and Bill White of Longmont, and Eva and Mark Schaeffer of Loveland; uncles, Harold and Shirley Scheck of Denver, and Richard and Sally Scheck and Gary and Karen Scheck, all of Loveland; grandmother, Euphrasine Scheck of Loveland; two nephews, Zach Girard and Josh Phab.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie, and father, Harold.
Graveside services and burial will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Loveland Burial Park.
