BRIGGS, Paul H., of Loveland. Memorial services 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, First Christian Church. Inurnment Loveland Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Christian Church or the Telephone Pioneers of Northern Colorado in care of Viegut Funeral Home.
Paul H. BRIGGS, 74, of Loveland died April 25, 2005, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
He was born April 6, 1931, in Fort Lupton to Raymond Robert Briggs and Doris Chloe Briggs. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1949.
He went to work for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph in 1950, and in June 1951 he joined the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the USS Uvalde for four years. After he was discharged, he returned to work for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph.
He married Shirley Ann Kaser in June 1955, and they had three children. They divorced in 1969. In 1971 he married Sandra Sue Thompson in Greeley and adopted her two children. They divorced in 1985. In 1994 he married Betty Jean Glaser in Loveland. They lived in Greeley until 1999, then moved to Loveland.
Mr. Briggs was a member of the First Christian Church in Loveland. He was also a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, of which he was president for four years. He was a member of Amico Club in Greeley and Sunrise Sams Camping Club of Greeley.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Jeffery of Gilbert, Ariz., Lon of Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, and Rodney of Northglenn; two daughters, Peggy and husband Ken Beckedahl of Kellogg, Idaho, and Joely and husband Doug Carney of Loveland; three stepchildren, Shirley and husband Gary Kenfield of Arvada, Douglas Glaser of Burbank, Calif., and Gloria Maas of Greeley; brother Bob Briggs and wife Dorothy of Brighton; and sister Jeanne and husband Tom Bale of Ridgecrest, Calif.; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant children, and a sister, Chloe Kipper of Riverside, Calif.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church. Inurnment will be at Loveland Burial Park.

Herman E. CORAZZA
CORAZZA, Herman E., of Loveland. Cremation with no services scheduled here. Services and burial in Rock Springs, Wyo.
Herman E.CORAZZA 81, of Loveland died May 10, 2005, at his home.
He was born March 25, 1924, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Emil and Mary Menghini Corazza.
He married Margaret Trei-tolli on March 8, 1958, in Sacramento, Calif.
He was the owner and operator of the Downtown Body Shop in Rock Springs, retiring in 1984. He drove a school bus and a courtesy van after his retirement. He moved to Loveland in 2004 from Rock Springs.
He loved antique cars and fixing them up.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Corazza of Westminster; two sons, Emil Corazza of Loveland and Chris Corazza and wife Tina of Minnesota; a daughter, Cathy Polzin and husband Larry of Westminster; five grandchildren; and a sister, Sophia Bauman of Rock Springs.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Corazza, in 1999; and a sister.
Final services and burial will be conducted in Rock Springs.
Viegut Funeral Home of Loveland handled local arrangements.

Brach Del Cox
Brach DelCox, 47, of Costa Mesa, Calif., and formerly of Loveland died May 3, 2005, at his home.
He was born Dec. 21, 1957, in Lincoln, Neb., to Delmar D. and Beverly M. Cox. He moved with his family in 1972 to Fort Collins, where he graduated from Rocky Mountain High School.
He was hired at KIIX radio station while still in high school as the youngest DJ. After graduation, he worked at KUAD 99 in Windsor. Two years later, he was hired at DATA Point in Denver, then transferred to California. After two years, he was hired at Toshiba America in Irvine, Calif., where he was employed for 16 years, until the time of his death.
He was awarded many certificates and awards in his position as senior manager of business development. Through his job he traveled extensively to Japan and many other countries, as well as throughout the United States.
He is survived by his parents, Del and Beverly Cox of Longmont; two brothers, Jason G. Cox of Longmont and Lee M. Cox and wife Kathryn of Ventura, Calif.; a sister, Kaye Mason and husband Lonnie of Loveland; two nephews; and two nieces.
A private family memorial service will be held Saturday at Estes Valley Memorial Gardens in Estes Park. A second memorial service will be held in Southern California for friends from San Diego, Long Beach and Costa Mesa and employees of Toshiba.
Cremation was handled by the Neptune Society.

Paul Francis Hackbarth
Paul FrancisHackbarth, 94, of Loveland died May 10, 2005, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
He was born March 28, 1911, in New Haven, Conn., to Charles and Louise (Studzsky) Hackbarth. He grew up in the New Haven area, and on Sept. 5, 1938, he married Josephine Frances Nowak.
Mr. Hackbarth was a mechanic for Buick Motors in New Haven during the 1940s and early ’50s. He was a machinist for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in the ’50s and ’60s. Later on, he owned and operated The Frame Shop in Hamden, Conn., during the ’70s and ’80s.
He was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Madison, Conn., where he was a member of the choir for many years. He also was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing in America for 35 years.
In 1999 he moved to the Loveland Good Samaritan Village, where he was known as the “popcorn man” for his dedication to making popcorn every Tuesday for Village residents and staff.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Josephine, of Loveland; a daughter, Janice Newman and husband Bill of Estes Park; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul, in 1993; and by seven brothers.
A graveside service for immediate family will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Estes Valley Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. May 28 at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church in Madison. A reception will follow.

Daryle Stuart Himes
Daryle Stuart Himes 58, of southeast Texas, formerly of Loveland, died of lung cancer May 3, 2005, at his home.
He was born May 31, 1946, in Cazenovia, Ill., to Frederick and Mildred (Null) Himes. He grew up in the Midwest, spent 20 years in Colorado, then settled in southeast Texas in 2001. He lived in Loveland from 1980 to 2001.
He graduated from Richland Center High School in Richland Center, Wis., in 1964. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1968 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal.
He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcyclist all of his life, logging many miles of scenic trips and reveling in the Sturgis, S.D., motorcycle rally. He enjoyed big-game hunting, “spaghetti Westerns,” car racing, Tina Turner’s music and fishing on the bayou.
He was generous with family and friends, quick to laugh, eager to have a good time and thought life was to be lived a little “on the edge.” His outgoing personality brought a spark to his small, rural neighborhood near La Belle, Texas.
He was a brick mason by profession. He spent the last 15 years of his career specializing in refractory construction nationwide, working primarily for Western Refractory of Longmont.
His work and his family were important elements in his life. He took great joy in his three grandchildren.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Himes, of Mansfield, Pa.; his daughter, Darcy Himes of Silverdale, Wash.; three brothers, Roland Himes of Spring Valley, Ill., Fred Himes of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Loren Himes of Markle, Ind.; two sisters, Phyllis Huss of Battle Creek, Iowa, and Sharon Harness of Richland Center, Wis.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jean Wilkins and Joyce Spry.
He requested cremation.
A memorial picnic for family and friends will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005, at 728 Little Acres Road, Beaumont, Texas.
Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen “Kytt” JOHNSON
JOHNSON, Kathleen “Kytt”, of Loveland. Wife of Gary L. Johnson. Funeral services 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at Resurrection Fellowship. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens. Viewing 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, and at Resurrection Fellowship prior to services.
Kathleen “Kytt” JOHNSON 57, of Loveland, died May 7, 2005, at McKee Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Pueblo, to James and Frances (Wilson) Chapman.
She graduated from Jefferson High School in Lakewood in 1965.
After graduation she traveled to Hawaii and lived there for a year.
She met Gary L. Johnson in Denver in 1970, and they married Feb. 6, 1971, in Loveland.
She was a homemaker and proud mother of two daughters, Doni and Kijo.
She joined Resurrection Fellowship in August 1990, and was a member of Rapha Bible Study Group. She had a great love for the country of Israel, and performed and taught Jewish folk dancing.
She was a professional seamstress who could make almost anything, especially children’s clothing. Her family considered her an excellent cook.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gary L. Johnson of Loveland; two daughters, Doni Ochs and husband Dan, and Kijo Johnson, all of Loveland; three grandchildren, Sean Ochs, Jordan Johnson and Ashli Ochs of Loveland; her mother, Frances Garber of Lakewood; one brother, Barry Chapman of Littleton; one sister, Juan Giadone of Pueblo; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Resurrection Fellowship, 6502 E. Crossroads Blvd., with the Rev. Diane Blano officiating. Public viewing will be 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection Christian School, in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.

Michael J. Kuntz
Michael J.Kuntz, 87, of Loveland died May 9, 2005, in Loveland.
He was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Otis, Colo., to Joseph and Susie Zwickle Kuntz, the oldest of 13 children. He attended Welsh Country School.
He married Dorothy Kirschner on Feb. 17, 1942. The family farmed east of Haxtun, Colo.
Mr. Kuntz was a lifetime honorary member of the Holyoke Knights of Columbus. Antique tractors and farm auctions were a great enjoyment to him.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kuntz of Loveland; two sons, Robert Kuntz of Fort Collins and Edwin Kuntz of Loveland; three daughters, Donna Sewell and husband John of Longmont, Beverley West and husband George of Milliken and Denise Etl of Longmont; brothers Clarence Kuntz of Loveland, Joe Kuntz of Joes, Colo., John Kuntz of Arvada, Charles Kuntz of Otis, and Phil Kuntz of Graham, Texas; a sister, Rose McCoy of Whittier, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Judy Kuntz; four brothers; two sisters; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. today at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Holyoke, Colo., with the Rev. Dan Zimmerschied officiating. Burial will be at Haxtun Cemetery.

Faye Pitchford Lovely
Faye Pitchford Lovely, 96, of Longmont died May 6, 2005, at her home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1908, in Clarendon, Texas, to Charles S. and Bessie (Waite) Warner.
She married Budd Pitchford May 1, 1931, in Golden. She then married Ray Lovely Jan. 4, 1976, in Longmont.
She moved to Longmont in 1935 from Loveland.
A homemaker and mother, Mrs. Lovely was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont.
She enjoyed stream fishing.
She is survived by three daughters, Lois Pitchford Okeeffe and her husband A.I. of El Paso, Texas, Charlene Pitchford Stratton of St. Charles, Mo., and Carol Pitchford Laity of Lafayette; a brother, Neal Warner and his wife Winona of Loveland; a sister-in-law, Leona Warner of Fort Collins; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1968, her second husband in 1998, and a brother, Gayle Warner.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. Steve Berke officiating.
Interment will be at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.

Crystal Mae Mink
Crystal Mae Mink, 57, of Ault and formerly of Loveland died May 7, 2005, at her home.
She was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Ottawa, Kan., to Wilson and Velma (Rice) Atchison. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1965.
She married Robert L. Mink on April 8, 1978. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mink worked for the U.S. Postal
Service as a rural letter carrier at the time of her death.
She enjoyed sewing and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include two sons, Stacy Bryant and wife Annie of Prosser, Wash., and Thomas Mink of Ault; a daughter, Michelle Trujillo and husband Jimmy of Ault; two grandchildren; and a sister, Stella Colby and husband Randy of Loveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Ault Cemetery.
Family members will greet friends during the visitation, which will be 5-7 p.m. today at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Ave., Evans.

Margaret M. STAHLECKER
Margaret M. STAHLECKER, 93, of Berthoud, died May 7, 2005, in Denver.
She was born Oct. 23, 1911, in Globeville, which is now a part of Denver, to John and Margaret Kramer Lofink.
When she was young her family moved to Nebraska. After several years, she moved to Bethune with her mother and two sisters. She attended country school.
She married Otto Stahlecker Jan. 29, 1929, in St. Francis, Kan.
They farmed north of Bethune and lived in an adobe house, where six of their children were born. She was a homemaker.
In February 1946, the family moved to a 15-acre tract east of Berthoud. Later they moved into town and had a home built. In 1981, her husband suffered a stroke and died. She continued living in her Berthoud home with her son Leonard until recently when she became ill. She had been at Lifecare Center of Longmont for several weeks, then was transferred to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver for hospice care.
Mrs. Stahlecker is survived by sons Ervin and wife Pansy of Fort Collins, Leonard of Berthoud, and Robert of Denver; daughters, Laverna Depperschmidt and husband Robert of Loveland, Mabel Crites and husband George of Las Vegas, Nev., Irene Aschenbrenner of Dexter, N.M., Linda Schroetlin and husband Jim of Yuma, Denise Schleiger and husband Dale of Loveland; one sister, Mabel Witten of Parker; a sister-in-law, Lois Stahlecker of Loveland; two brothers-in-law, Elmo Thompson of Thornton and Martin Kramer of Denver; 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter; three sisters, Christine Rouse, Elsie Kramer and Violet Thompson; six sisters-in-law, eight brothers-in-law and one son-in-law.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1101 Hilltop Drive. Viewing will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Viegut Funeral Home. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Denver in care of Viegut Funeral Home, 1440 N. Boise Ave., Loveland, 80538.
