Margaret Mulligan Cronin of New Bern, N.C., a former longtime resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, at home. She was 75. She died of natural causes, according to her family. She was born Dec. 2, 1927 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mrs. Cronin was a member of St. Paul Church in New Bern. Mrs. Cronin and her husband of 51 years, James A. Cronin of New Bern, lived in Stamford for 30 years,where they were members of St. Cecilia's Church. Mrs. Cronin worked as an executive secretary at GTE in Stamford from 1976 to 1984. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Scott R. Cronin of Norwalk; and two grandchildren. A memorial Mass was celebrated Friday, Oct. 17, at St. Paul's Church in New Bern, with Monsignor James R. Jones officiating. Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd., New Bern, handled arrangements.

Samuel L. "Les" Crosby, a design engineer who lived in Norwalk, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 83. He died of natural causes, according to his family. Born May 22, 1920, in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Lavina Ralston Crosby. Mr. Crosby worked for more than 40 years as a design engineer for Nash Engineering, formerly in Norwalk, before retiring in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as a radio operator in the Panama Canal Zone. Mr. Crosby was a member of the East Norwalk Boat Club, AARP and the former Norwalk Citizens Band Radio Club. In addition, he was a pack master for the Cub Scouts in Norwalk. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Miriam Klutey Crosby of Norwalk; two sons, David L. Crosby of Norwalk and Douglas A. Crosby of Redding; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Anderson and Dorothy Glover. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home. The Rev. Henry K. Yordon, pastor of the First Congregational Church on the Green, will officiate. Burial with military honors will take place at Mountain Grove Easton cemeteryin Easton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VA Medical Center, 950 Campbell Ave., West Haven, CT 06516.

Paul A. Cuozzo, a Stamford resident, died Monday, April 28, at Stamford Hospital. He was 89. He died of natural causes, according to his family. Born Jan. 25, 1914, in New York state, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cuozzo. Mr. Cuozzo lived in Stamford most of his life. He worked for Rings End Lumber as a driver for 20 years. He later worked for Burndy Co. for 10 years, retiring in 1976. Mr. Cuozzo was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed traveling the United States with his family in their RV. He is survived by his wife, Christine Manos Cuozzo of Stamford; a son, Charles Cuozzo of Stamford; and a sister, Clara Berrigan of Florida. He was predeceased by a brother, Alex Cuozzo. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, with prayers at 6 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home at 11 a.m., Friday, May 2, for Woodland cemeteryin Stamford for a graveside service.

James F. Curnyn of Norwalk, former owner of Eastern Auto Parts in Stamford, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Stamford Hospital. He was 47. He died of cancer, according to his family. Born Dec. 29, 1954, in Stamford, he was a son of the late Edward and Helen Mugan Curnyn. Mr. Curnyn lived in Norwalk for 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Curnyn is survived by his wife, Gail Gergle Curnyn of Norwalk; a daughter, Cassidy Curnyn of Norwalk; a brother, Edward Curnyn of Meredith, N.H.; two sisters, Karen Bilodeau of Gilford, N.H., and Sheila Mohan of Center Harbor, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. Burial will be private. Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk, is handling arrangements. Sally Orrico Currivan of Sebastian, Fla., a former Cos Cob resident and business owner, died Monday, Oct. 28, at home. She was 76. She died of a heart attack, according to her family. Born in Cos Cob on June 11, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Rocco and Rose Ponger Orrico. Mrs. Currivan worked at and later owned Ricka's, a retail clothing store in Cos Cob, for many years. Mrs. Currivan and her late husband, Jack Currivan, moved to Lake Wales, Fla., in 1983 and to Sebastian in 1989. She is survived by a sister, Louise Spremullo of Brookfield; a brother, Fred Orrico of Ridgefield; two stepdaughters, Pat Harrington of Danbury and Janie Weber of Lakeland, Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Orrico; and a sister, May Godino. There are no calling hours or services. Burial is private. Indian River Cremation Inc. in Vero Beach, Fla., and All County Funeral Home in Lake Worth, Fla., handled arrangements.

Gerald A. Curwin Sr., a retired photo engraver and Stamford resident, died Thursday, Sept. 4, at Homestead Health Care Center. He was 92. He died of natural causes, according to his family. Born Nov. 15, 1910, in South Bend, Ind., he was a son of the late Floyd and Alberta Downing Curwin. Mr. Curwin had been a Stamford resident for the past 15 months. He was a photo engraver for Graphic Color Plate Co. of Stamford. Mr. Curwin was a charcoal, oil and pencil artist, having many showings at the Greenwood County Center in South Carolina, where he resided for 30 years. He penciled a historic house and it was published in a local book showing other historic homes. He was a member of the Baha'i faith. Mr. Curwin was an avid chess player, teaching classes and participating in tournaments. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gail Sharrard Curwin of Stamford; two daughters, Darle Tobel of Northville, Mich., and Leanna Gallup of Stamford; a son, Gerald A. Curwin Jr. of Brandon, Fla.; a sister, Vivian Hosford of Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Erksine Road, Stamford. Nicholas F. Edward S. Czarnecki Jr. of Fairfield, formerly of Stamford, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, in Bridgeport. He was 62. The cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy, according to his family. Born Dec. 1, 1940, in Stamford, he was a son of Veronica Kasiewicz Czarnecki of Stamford and the late Edward S. Czarnecki Sr. Mr. Czarnecki worked as an electrician with the city of Stamford. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Theresa Vitti of South Salem, N.Y., and Kathryn Czarnecki of Salt Lake City; three sisters, Kathleen Laskowski of Milford, Carol Soloff of Westport and Michelle Sullaway of Stamford; a brother, Joseph Czarnecki of Shelton; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Casinelli Vitti Funeral Home, 9 Pulaski St., Stamford. Helen Czechel, a lifelong Greenwich resident, died Friday, Jan. 31, at home. She was 82. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Aug. 1, 1920, in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Sroka Stempien. Mrs. Czechel was a homemaker and parishioner of St. Roch Church. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Bruno of Greenwich; a son, Stan Czechel of Stamford; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Czechel; and a brother, John Stempien. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. Edward Daddona, a 60-year Darien resident and a pharmacist, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, at home. He was 93. He died of natural causes, according to his family. Born Nov. 15, 1910, in Stamford, he was a son of the late Richard Anthony and Jennie Grassi Daddona. Mr. Daddona was a graduate of the University of Connecticut, College of Pharmacy, Class of 1931. He began working as pharmacist in 1930. He opened Village Pharmacy with his brother in 1951; it closed in 1986. Mr. Daddona was a member of the Noroton Fire Department for 50 years and a member of the Connecticut Pharmacist Association Darien Senior Men's Association. He is survived by a son, Richard C. Daddona of Fairfield; a daughter, Dorothy Merrill of Topsfield, Mass.; a brother, Everett Daddona of Stamford; two sisters, Margaret Sarno of Fairfield and Eleanor Thieme of Stamford; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 17, at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A service will follow at the funeral home. Joseph S. Daher of Norwalk, a World War II Veteran, died Monday, Aug. 11, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 82. The cause of death was a heart attack, according to his family. Born March 16, 1921, in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Shaheen and Sophia Tomey Daher. Mr. Daher was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. Before retiring, he was a supervisor with Connecticut Light & Power Co. A lifelong Norwalk resident, he was an active member of St. Joseph's Church in Norwalk, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Thomas J. Finn Council 46 in Norwalk, and a Norwalk Hospital volunteer. Mr. Daher is survived by fours sons, Peter J. Daher and John M. Daher, both of Norwalk, Christopher Daher of Wilton and George S. Daher of North Haven; four daughters, Loretta M. Daher of Norwalk, Mary A. Daher of Milford, Laura J. Daher of Stratford and Elizabeth M. Shea of West Haven; a sister, Essie Daher of Norwalk; and 18 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara White Daher. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. Harriet Katsos Dakin of Bristol died Monday, Jan. 6, at Bristol Hospital. She was 43. She died of injuries sustained after being stuck by a car, according to police reports. Born May 9, 1959, in Aleurou, Sparta, Greece, she was a daughter of Peter and Angeliki Katsos of Aleurou. Mrs. Dakin was a Bristol resident since 1976. She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Bristol. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, James and Steven Dakin, both of Bristol; a brother, Louis Katsos of Stamford; a sister, Barbara Varnavelias of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews. Catherine Ofiero D'Andrea, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Saturday, Dec. 15 at Stamford Hospital. She was 83. She died of respiratory failure, according to her family. Born Aug. 13, 1918 in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late Generosa and Jennie Corso Ofiero. Mrs. D'Andrea was an assembler for the former Machlett Laboratories in Stamford for 15 years. She was also an avid bingo player. She is survived by a brother, Gene "Harp" Ofiero of Darien; a sister, Vincenza "Ginny" Mazzella of Sebastian, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her huband, Raymond "Sharkey" D'Andrea; nine brothers, Pat Ofiero, Vincenzo Ofiero, Louis Ofiero, Joseph Ofiero, Anthony Ofiero, Nicholas Ofiero, John Ofiero, Frank Ofiero and Michael Ofiero; and a sister, Catherina Ofiero. Calling hours will be 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 at St. Mary's Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Interment will follow in St. John's cemeteryin Darien.
