December 5, 2001 Eleanor McGee Miller of Stewart, Fla., a former Stamford resident, died Sunday, Dec. 2, at Martin Memorial South Hospital in Stewart. She was 88. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born May 2, 1913, in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Winifred Conway Dugdale. Mrs. Miller was a teacher and administrator for the Stamford Public Schools, retiring in 1975 as vice principal of Stark School after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Bridget of Ireland Church in Stamford. She is survived by a daughter, Marylou McGee Ivey of Fairfield; a son, Conway McGee of Stewart; a sister, Evelyn Buck of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by her first husband, Henry McGee; her second husband, Burton W. Miller; three sisters, Jennie Gleason, Winifred Gorton and Florence McGuiness; and a brother, Henry Dugdale Jr. Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at St. Bridget of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford. Burial will follow in St. John's cemeteryin Darien. February 5, 2003 Anita D. Miller of Darien, a former Stamford resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Stamford Hospital. She was 69. She died of complications from colon cancer, according to her family. Born March 24, 1933, in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Alwine Engelhardt. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She also worked as a part-time secretary for Procaccini & Sons Septic Service in Darien. She is survived by her companion of 16 years, Angelo Procaccini of Darien; two daughters, Linda Donohoe of Stamford and Cathy Sheppard of Norwalk; three sons, James Inverno Jr. of Queens, N.Y., Michael Inverno of Ansonia and Andrew Miller of Stratford; a sister, Edith Anderson of Staten Island; her former husband, James Inverno Sr. of Stamford; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband, Andy Miller; and two brothers, Alvin Engelhardt and William Engelhardt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.

Arthur A. Miller June 30, 2004 Arthur A. Miller, a longtime Stamford resident and former manager for a retail firm, died Tuesday, June 29, at home. He was 84. He died of heart failure, according to his family. Born Oct. 9, 1919, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Israel and Mollie Osman Miller. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of Congregation Agudath Sholom, the Jewish Community Center and its men's club, and was an associate Hadassah Husband, all in Stamford. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Belle Geller Miller of Stamford; three daughters, Lisa Miller of Waterbury, Abbey Kreinik of Hartford and Neile Lutze of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Janice Cohen of Cranberry, N.J.; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Dana Appenzeller. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 30, at Congregation Agudath Sholom, 301 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford. Burial will follow in Agudath Sholom cemeteryin Stamford. John H. Millington Sr. September 4, 2003 John Herman Millington Sr. of Waterbury, a chef at Hops Grillhouse & Brewery in Waterbury, died Sunday, Aug. 31 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford. He was 20. He died of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, according to his family. Mr. Millington lived in Stamford until 1991, when he moved with his mother to Waterbury. Born March 21, 1983 in Stamford, he was the son of Herman J. Millington of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Cheryl L. Dereis Millington of Waterbury. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mari Gonzalez Millington of Waterbury; a son, John H. Millington Jr. of Waterbury; two sisters, Brigit Millington and Britney Millington, both of Waterbury; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Lacerenza Funeral Home Inc., 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. January 31, 2003 Mary Ethel Milton, a Stamford resident for over 40 years, died Thursday, Jan. 30, at Stamford Hospital. She was 63. She died of respiratory failure, according to her family. Born June 16, 1939, in Hampton County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Fannie Bigby Hutchinson Sr. Mrs. Milton was a member of Union Baptist Church in Stamford. She was the custodian for more than 13 years at Rippowam High School. She is survived by her husband, Isaac Milton Jr. of Stamford; a son, Isiah Dexter Milton of Stamford; a brother, Joseph Hutchinson Jr. of Estill, S.C.; and a sister, Helen Juanita Hutchinson of Estill. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 3, at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Stamford. A funeral service will follow at noon at the church with the Rev. Robert W. Perry officiating. Burial will be in Estill. Downer Funeral Home, 31 Stillwater Ave., Stamford, handled the arrangements.

January 31, 2003 Nina Moccia, a homemaker who lived in Norwalk for 40 years, died Thursday, Jan. 30, at Notre Dame Convalescent Home in Norwalk. She was 89. She died of cancer, according to her family. Born March 29, 1913, in New Rochelle, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Anna Capuano Williams. Mrs. Moccia resided in Stamford for 20 years prior to moving to Norwalk. She is survived by a son, Gene Moccia of Norwalk; a daughter, Betty Ann Uzwiak of Norwalk; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Carmine Moccia; three brothers, Charlie Williams, Anthony Williams and Philip Williams; and seven sisters, Josephine Gelardi, Tillie Williams, Laura Nicoletti, Mary Fieldhouse, Rose Beck, Anna Williams and Constance Merritt. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Lacerenza Funeral Home Inc., 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. February 15, 2003 Dominick P. Moccia of West Springfield, Mass., died Thursday, Feb. 13, in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was 56. He died of heart failure, according to his family. Born July 29, 1946, in Stamford, he was the son of Mary Moccia of Bethel and the late Thomas Moccia. Mr. Moccia lived in the Springfield area for 25 years. He graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y., with an accounting degree. He went on to own and operate AAA Transmission Center in West Springfield. He was a longtime member of the Model A Association of Massachusetts. He also was an antique car enthusiast and beach lover. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Thomas P. Moccia of Stockton, Calif., and Vincent A. Moccia of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Tamora L. Lincoln of West Springfield; a sister, Mary Beauvais of Bethel; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Connie White. A memorial gathering will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, with a prayer service at 2:30 p.m.

August 20, 2003 Edwige Moise of New York City, a former Stamford resident, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Lenox Hill Hospital. She was 78. She died of amassive heart attack, according to her family. Born April 6, 1925, in Cotes-De-Fer, Haiti, she was a daughter of the late Pompilus and Eugenia Anicette Moise. Ms. Moise emigrated to Stamford in 1966, where she worked as a seamstress. Two years later, she moved to New York City, where she lived for more than 30 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Stamford. She is survived by two sisters, Bethanie Moise of Cotes-De-Fer and Fifie Moise Azulpha of Bridgeport; and many nieces and nephews of the Vusseieth, Caienard, Golibois and Mondesir families. She was predeceased by a sister, Laurence Moises Gilles; and four brothers, Pierre Moise, Ducaste Moise, Prospere Moise and Fresnel Moise. Calling hours will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford. November 24, 2002 James J. Molloy, a Norwalk resident, formerly of Stamford, died Saturday, Nov. 23, at Mediplex of Darien. He was 82. He died of complications from Alzheimer's disease, according to his family. Born March 16, 1920 in New York City, he was the son of the late James J. and Emily Kennedy Molloy. Mr. Molloy was raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a graduate of Fordham Unversity. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. He served with the Eighth Air Force, 100th Bomber Group as a bombardier, flying 35 missions over Germany. Mr. Molloy moved to Stamford in 1968. He worked as a marketing representative for IBM and retired in 1983 after 35 years. He moved to Norwalk in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary White Molloy of Norwalk; two daughters, Susan Uhlman of Norwalk and Nancy King of Canton, Mass.; a sister, Margaret Thomasch of Annapolis, Md.; and five grandchildren. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, at St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan. Sadie Mae Monds July 2, 2004 Sadie Mae Monds of Dunn, N.C., a former Stamford resident and homemaker, died Thursday, July 1, at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn. She was 80. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Godwin, N.C., she was a daughter of Wadie Elizabeth Baldwin of Dunn and late Clarence Baldwin. Mrs. Monds spent most of her life in Stamford. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Neil "Pet" Henry Monds of Dunn; a son, Henry Monds of Dunn; a daughter, Alease M.S. Clark of Dunn; a sister, Marjorie Jones of Dunn; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Cora Mae McNeil; a daughter, Gloria "Nuddie" Garner; and two grandchildren, Derrick Simms and Mark Simms. The family will receive friends between today, July 2, and Tuesday, July 6, at her home, 1000 East Harnett St., Dunn, NC 28334. Funeral services and burial will be announced at later date. August 29, 2003 Wilson A. Montero of Bridgeport, a student studying computer science at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, died Friday, Aug. 22. He was 25. He died of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident Friday, Aug. 22, on the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield. Born Sept. 25, 1977, in San Jose, Costa Rica, he was a son of Jose Montero of Bridgeport and Deyanira Montero of San Jose. He worked for many years in the banquet department at the Italian Center in Stamford. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Jose Montero of Bridgeport and Adolfo Montero of San Jose; a sister, Marilin Montero of San Jose; a maternal grandmother, Adelia Segura of San Jose; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Sewell T. Moore Sr. December 11, 2003 Sewell Trezevant Moore Sr. of Philadelphia, a former Stamford resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Cathedral Village in Philadelphia. He was 82. He died of prostate cancer, according to his family. Born March 3, 1921, in Forte Motte, S.C., he was the son of the late DeSaussure Parker Moore and Cornelia Trezevant Moore. Known to his friends as "Deac," Mr. Moore took his nickname from the profession of his father, an Episcopal minister. Raised in South Carolina and Weldon, N.C., he graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, Wis. During his long career as a paper chemist, Mr. Moore worked primarily for American Cynamid in Stamford in research and industrial applications, and had more than 30 patents. After a professional career in Stamford and Old Lyme, he retired to St. Leonard, Md., to enjoy his passion for gardening and love of sailing. In 2001 he moved to Cathedral Village in Philadelphia. He is survived by two daughters, Aimee Martin of Lima, Peru, and Margaret Moore of New York; two sons, Peter Moore of New York and Sewell Trezevant Moore Jr. of Radnor, Pa.; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Bett Kinder Moore. August 15, 2002 Richard David Moore, a retired account executive with United Parcel Service, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, at his home in Norwalk. He was 60. He died of cancer, according to his family. Born Nov. 24, 1941, in Stamford, he was the son of Elsie Quell Moore Kikta of Lake Worth, Fla., and the late David Moore. Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Navy. He lived in Norwalk for 26 years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Keenan Moore of Norwalk; a daughter, Kathleen Mary Moore Fontan of Stratford; two sons, Michael Richard Moore of Fairfield and Richard David Moore Jr. of Norwalk; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Harry Edward Morris January 20, 2004 Harry Edward Morris, a longtime Stamford resident, died Saturday, Jan. 17, at Greenwich Hospital. He was 86. He died of kidney failure, according to his family. Born March 14, 1917, in Nyack, N.Y., he was the son of the late Harry E. Morris and Margaret Wesel Morris. Mr. Morris had lived in Stamford since 1970. He worked as a chauffeur for UST Inc. of Greenwich for 18 years, retiring about 17 years ago. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Teaneck, N.J., and the Elks Club in Port Chester, N.Y. He loved cigars and was an avid University of Connecticut basketball fan. He is survived by two sons, Roger E. Morris of Stamford and John H. Morris of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; a sister, Trudy Kesnig of Spring Hill, Fla.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth E. Sargent Morris. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A private graveside service will be held in Lincoln cemeteryin Lincoln, Vt. July 11, 2003 Edwina Gilleski Morris, a lifelong Stamford resident and retired legal secretary, died Thursday, July 10, at home. She was 86. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Dec. 17, 1916, in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late Vincent W. and Frances Leszcznyski Gilewski. Mrs. Morris worked as a legal secretary for Buckley & Hanna, a law firm formerly in Stamford. She is survived by six nephews; eight nieces; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William B. Morris; six brothers, Stanley Gilleski, John Gilleski, Joseph Gilleski, Charles Gilleski, Theodore Gilleski and Anthony Gilleski; and two sisters, Mae Ashley and Lillian Bozak. October 27, 2003 Lorette Bonenfant Motyka, a homemaker and longtime Norwalk resident, died Saturday, Oct. 25, at Norwalk Hospital. She was 88. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Feb. 19, 1915, in Actonville, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Olivier and Marie Louise Villiard Bonenfant. Mrs. Motyka was a member of the French-American Club in Norwalk, the Norwalk Senior Center and the Norwalk Seaport Association. She is survived by a son, Leo J. Motyka Jr. of Norwalk; a daughter, Pauline Schlegel of Norwalk; a brother, Pete Bonenfant of Monroe; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leo J. Motyka Sr.; six sisters, Louise Plante, Marie Anne Godin, Aldea Morissette, Marie Ange Berube, Juliette Vielleux and Marie Paule Zysk; and three brothers, Theodore Bonenfant, Philip Bonenfant and Leo Bonenfant.
