Paul Boczer Jr. Paul Boczer Jr., a lifelong Norwalk resident, died Monday, July 1, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 68. He died of heart complications, according to his family. Born Sept. 21, 1933, in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Paul and Olga Horvath Boczer . Mr. Boczer was a graduate of J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford and attended Bridgeport Engineering Institute. He was retired from Nash Engineering when it was based in Norwalk, and worked as a draftsman and purchasing agent. He was a member and former vice chairman of the board of directors for the St. Ann Club and a member of the Sons of Italy, both of Norwalk. He was a longtime member of the Calvin Reformed Church in Norwalk and served on the consistory. He was a member of the church's senior choir. Mr. Boczer was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dean Boczer of Norwalk; a son, Christopher Dean Boczer of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Members of the Sons of Italy will gather at the funeral home at 7 p.m., and members of the St. Ann Club will gather at 7:30 p.m. A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the funeral home. Rose M. Chiappetta, 87, of Greenwich, died Monday, Feb. 23, at the Greenwich Woods Health Care Center. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Mrs. Chiappetta was a lifelong resident of Greenwich, where she was a homemaker. Born May 16, 1916, in Greenwich, she was a daughter of the late Francesco and Elena "Michelina" Pepin Pignataro. Mrs. Chiappetta was a member of St. Ann's Sodality at St. Roch Church in Byram. She also was a parishioner of St. Mary Church. She was a member of G.R.E.A.T.S., the Greenwich Eating and Tarrying Society. Mrs. Chiappetta taught her granddaughter, Susan Santora of Greenwich, how to bake, knit and crochet, and held her hand and hid her eyes during a 1973 trip through Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in Walt Disney World. She is survived by a daughter, MaryAnn Santora of Greenwich; five sisters, Sara Cacciola of Port Chester, N.Y., Josephine Curcuruto of St. Petersburg, Fla., Concetta Gasbarri of Old Greenwich, Assunta Gabriele of Stamford and Lucille LaRusso of Arizona; two brothers, Charles Pignataro of Boca Raton, Fla., and Rocco Pignataro of Vermont; and her granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank B. Chiappetta, who died in 1974; a brother, Lawrence Pignataro; and a sister, Mary Albanese. Elizabeth A. Keller, 68, of Lakeland, Fla., a former longtime Greenwich resident, died Sunday, Dec. 15, at Greenwich Hospital. She died of complications from cancer, according to her family. Born Aug. 4, 1934, in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Travelo Zaccardo. Mrs. Keller was a homemaker. She lived here until 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Debra Baker of Stamford and Elizabeth Willers of Lakeland; two sons, Edmund Baker of Greenwich and William Baker of Lakeland; a sister, Marie Johnson of Sand Springs, Okla.; and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Keller, in 1998. Services will be held in Lakeland. Andrew Frank Yanowetz, a painter and lifelong resident of Stamford, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, [2003] at Stamford Hospital. He was 71. He died of heart failure, according to his family. Born Nov. 30, 1931 in Stamford, he was the son of the Late Frank and Theresa Derda Yanowetz. Mr. Yanowetz was a self-employed painter for more than 50 years. He was a parishioner and communicant of St. Benedict Our Lady of Montserrat Church. He was a trustee and member of the Holy Name Society for St. Benedict. He was also a graduate of Stamford High School and a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 192nd Field Artillery Battallion. He is survived by one sister, Eleanor Williams, of Palm Bay, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Marion Walsh, Mildred Yanowetz, Theresa Fano and Helen Radunski; and two brothers, Joseph and Francis Yanowetz. Callings hours will be 5 to 8 p.m., today, Aug. 8, at the Bosak Funeral Home, 9 Pulaski St., Stamford. Concetta M. Miller, a homemaker and longtime Stamford resident, died Wednesday, July 23, [2003] at Stamford Hospital. She was 85. She died of cardiac arrest, according to her family. Born Dec. 27, 1917, in West Stockbridge, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John and Maria Savastino. Mrs. Miller lived in Stamford for most of her life, where she was a member of the local branch of AARP. She is survived by two sons, Russell R. Miller of Livingston Manor, N.Y., and Brian J. Miller of Phoenix; a daughter, Barbara A. Salvatore of Stamford; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph L. Miller; a son, Douglas J. Miller; and two brothers, Louis Savastino and Vincent Savastino. Callings hours will be 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Geraldine V. Morgan Helie, of Goat Island, Newport, R.I., a former resident of Greenwich, Darien and Ridgefield, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, at home. She was 86. She died of pneumonia, according to her family. Mrs. Helie was a high-fashion model in the 1940s and 1950s, and later was a fashion executive at B. Altman's Department Store, Mondel Brothers, Forbes & Wallace, Arnold Constables, BH Wrages and Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. Born Feb. 20, 1917, in Quincy, Mass., she was a daughter of the late James and Eileen Morgan. Mrs. Helie was an entrepreneur, a partner in Purdy-Helie Productions' "Fashion on Wheels," president of retail and merchandise promotions services, and later a real estate executive in Rye, N.Y., and Ridgefield. She was the secretary and president of the Women's Republican Club, Fifth Congressional District, Fairfield County, and was involved with the Women's National Republican Club during the Nixon administration. She is survived by a brother, James Morgan of Bethlehem.; three sisters, Peggy Broman of Cape Cod, Mass., Nancy Boyle of Pennsylvania and Winifred Taylor of Naples, Fla.; three sons, Morgan X. Helies of Jamestown, R.I., Peter G. Helie of Fairfield and Groton Long Point, and Broderick W. Helie of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Michele Millard of Newport and Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Delia Irene Holt, a lifelong Old Greenwich resident, died Thursday, Jan. 15, at home. She was 92. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Mrs. Holt was a bookkeeper for Gristede's Brothers until her retirement in 1955. Born Aug. 1, 1911, in her home in Old Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Charles Howard and Maud Percival Raymond Knapp. Mrs. Holt was a parishioner of First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich and a volunteer at the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford. She is survived by two stepdaughters, Jean Schmaling of Danbury and Phyllis Anderson of Cincinnati; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Holt, in 1991; three brothers, Howard Knapp, Clifford Knapp and Raymond Knapp; and a stepson, John William Holt. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at First Congregational Church, 108 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich. Burial will be private. Patricia M. Linden, a longtime Stamford resident, died Monday, March 17, at Stamford Hospital. She was 72. She died of scleroderma, according to her family. Born Oct. 4, 1930, in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Daly Curry. Mrs. Linden lived in Stamford for more than 27 years. She worked in the investment department at Guardian Life Insurance Co. in New York City for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Stamford. She is survived by her husband, Edwin J. Linden of Stamford; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, March 19, at Leo P. Robert Abplanalp, who was a confidant of Richard Nixon during and after his presidency, and an inventor who changed aerosol technology, died of cancer on Saturday. He was 81. Mr. Abplanalp was a provider of emotional support for Nixon during his hardest years in politics. While in office, the president vacationed at Grand Cay, Mr. Abplanalp's Bahamian island. In the first few days after Nixon resigned in disgrace over Watergate, Mr. Abplanalp went to the former president's side in California to lend his support in his first days out of the White House. Mr. Abplanalp had lent Nixon the money in 1969 to buy a 29-acre property at San Clemente, Calif., where he lived until 1980. Meanwhile, he ran the Precision Valve Corporation, which he started in 1949 to manufacture a patented aerosol valve. This particular plastic model could be mass produced, was cheaper and was more efficient than its metal counterpart. Born in the Bronx, Mr. Abplanalp was the son of Swiss immigrants who studied mechanical engineering at Villanova University, but quit after three years to open a machine shop. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 in Europe. He became friends with Nixon after his loss in the 1960 presidential race and the 1962 California gubernatorial race. He approached Nixon and offered his support, then retained the future president's lawfirm for handling his company's overseas legal affairs. Mr. Abplanalp is survived by his wife Josephine; a daughter, Marie; a sister, Clara Radcliffe; and four grandchildren.

Edward Vernon Nunes, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, at home in Greenwich. He died of natural causes, his family said. He was born April 10, 1921, in New York City, son of the late Leo George Nunes and Vivian Vernon Nunes. He attended the Allen Stevenson School in New York City and was a member of the class of 1938 at Hotchkiss School and the class of 1942 at Yale, although his college education was interrupted when he volunteered for the U.S. Navy. He was commissioned as an ensign and began his service career skippering landing craft in the Pacific. He subsequently served as lieutenant, then lieutenant commander on the destroyers USS Lind and USS Doyle in the Atlantic and Pacific. He married Grace Maynard of Utica, N.Y., 11 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor -- Dec. 18, 1941. They settled in Greenwich when the war was over and raised their three children. Mr. Nunes worked in New York City with his father in their family import/export business, the Leghorn Trading Co., which specialized in edible oils. In 1971, he became business manager and director of development at the Brunswick School, where he had long served on the board of directors, including as chairman. Mr. Nunes was active in the Representative Town Meeting, the Republican Town Committee and the Selectmen's Parking and Traffic Committee, of which he was chairman for 14 years. He was chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission in the 1970s. Active at Christ Church Greenwich for more than 50 years, he served as third grade Sunday school teacher, usher, vestry member and chairman of the finance committee. He did volunteer work for other local organizations, including the United Way, dating to when it was known as the Community Chest, and serving as chairman under both names. He also was actively involved in Parsonage Cottage and the Gateway School. He had a special involvement with the Transportation Agency of Greenwich, which was founded by his cousin, Ruppert Vernon. He served on the board of the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, working as chairman of its Commission on Business Affairs from 1976 to 1982. After stepping down from the presidency of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, he was honored as its Community Leader of 2001. Mr. Nunes joined the Belle Haven Club in 1945, serving as its commodore in 1965-66. He enjoyed the sea and sailing. At The Field Club, he served on the board of directors, and worked on his tennis game. He also belonged to the Yale Club, the Amateur Ski Club of New York, The Harpoon Club and the Greenwich Exchange Club. He devoted time to his former schools, especially Hotchkiss, where he worked for its annual fund and endowment. He also served on the board of the Oaklawn Foundation, dedicated to the advancement of education through gifts and scholarships. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Nadine Dub of New York City; a son, Edward Vernon Nunes Jr. of New York City; two daughters, Stefanie Nunes Kies of Old Greenwich and Grace M. Thompson of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A service and celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Christ Church Greenwich, 254 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Transportation Association of Greenwich, 13 Riverside Ave., Riverside, CT 06878. Fred D. Angelo Buzzeo of Clinton, a former Stamford resident, died Sunday, June 15, at Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Clinic in Essex. He was 59. He died of heart failure, according to his family. Born Nov. 9, 1943, in Settefrati, Italy, he was the son of the late Generoso and Maria Giovannangeli Buzzeo. Mr. Buzzeo was a machine setter for Pitney Bowes in Stamford for 29 years. He was a soccer coach for the Stamford Youth Soccer League from 1976 to 1981. He lived in Stamford from 1964 until two years ago, when he moved to Clinton. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maria Pompa Buzzeo of Clinton; three sons, Dominick Buzzeo and Anthony F. Buzzeo, both of Clinton, and Angelo A. Buzzeo of Stamford; four sisters; four granddaughters and a grandson. Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. today, June 18, at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. Joseph Ciboroski, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, died Tuesday, June 29, at his home. He was 71. He died of cancer, according to his family. Born Aug. 20, 1932, in Greenwich, he was a son of the late William and Stella Koziel Ciboroski. Mr. Ciboroski was a bartender at the Greenwich Country Club for 32 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Ninth District Veterans in Glenville. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Orinoco Council No. 39. He is survived by two daughters, Jill Brown of Margate, Fla., and Jana Ciboroski of Asheville, N.C.; a brother, Chester Ciboroski of Greenwich; and two grandsons. He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Ciboroski. Annunziata "Nancy" Abbruzzese of Greenwich died Sunday, June 22, at Courtland Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stamford. She was 94. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born March 23, 1909, in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Abbruzzese was a daughter of the late Angelo and Filomeno Capalbo DeBernardo. She was a housewife. Mrs. Abbruzzese is survived by a son, John Abbruzzese of Greenwich; a sister, Santa Fusaro of Greenwich; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Annunziato Abbruzzese; a daughter, Sally Hogan; two brothers, Frank DeBernardo and Angelo DeBernardo; and two sisters, Rose Toreso and Carmela Greco. Benjamin S. Adelson, a retired real estate broker and a longtime Stamford resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Stamford Hospital. He was 91. He died of natural causes, according to his family. Born Feb. 27, 1911, in New York City, he was the son of the late Herman and Renee Sugarman Adelson. Mr. Adelson graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School, formerly in New York City, and attended New York University. He was employed as a real estate broker in midtown Manhattan, before retiring to Stamford. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marion Goldman Adelson of Stamford; two sons, James Adelson and Richard Adelson, both of New York City; and two grandsons. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Adelson. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Beth El cemeteryin Stamford. Rhenus H. "Ren" Alderman III, a New Canaan resident for more than 40 years and founding president and chairman of Investors Capital Management Inc. of Norwalk, died Sunday, Sept. 28, at Waveny Care Center in New Canaan. He was 76. He died of cardiac complications, according to his family. Born Dec. 16, 1926, in Roanoke, Va., he was the son of Rhenus H. and Virginia Allen Alderman. Mr. Alderman grew up in Roanoke and Clearwater, Fla. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Alderman graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan. He began his career as a financial management trainee at General Electric Corp. in Lynn, Mass. He liked to tell the story about how he recommended eliminating his own job as a result of a financial analysis he conducted. Mr. Alderman was a pension consultant with John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co., working in Boston, Chicago and Kansas City. He worked for 15 years at Citibank North America's investment management group in New York City, where he was a vice president. As senior vice president of the Merchants Bank & Trust Co. in Norwalk, he was the bank's investment officer. In 1990, he founded Investors Capital Management, and served as president and later chairman. Mr. Alderman was president of the Alcoholism and Drug Dependency Council in Westport and a member of the United Methodist Church of New Canaan, the American Pension Conference, the American Arbitration Association and Sons of the Revolution. He was an enthusiastic sailor and a longtime member of the Norwalk Yacht Club. He is survived by his former wife, Mary Malin Alderman of Wilton; two daughters, Elizabeth Allen Alderman of Mesilla, N.M., and Sarah Alderman Clem of Beaverton, Ore.; a son, Rhenus Hoffard Alderman IV of Norwalk; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at United Methodist Church of New Canaan, 165 South Ave., New Canaan. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Alderman-Pelote cemeteryin Lithia, Fla., land donated by Mr. Alderman's great-great-grandfather. Willie Alexander Sr., a longtime Stamford resident and maintenance worker, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Hospice Health Care Center in Stamford. He was 60. He died of cancer, according to his family. Born Aug. 1, 1943, in Florence, S.C., he was the son of the late O'Niel Alexander Sr. and Louise Wright Alexander. Mr. Alexander lived in Stamford for 39 years. He worked for Woodside Green Associates in Stamford. He often spent time with his nephew, Stanford Hull of Stamford. He is survived by his wife, Eula M. Hull Alexander of Stamford; a son, Willie Alexander Jr. of Stamford; a daughter, Erika Alexander of Stamford; seven brothers, Curtis Alexander of California, and O'Niel Alexander Jr., Richard Alexander, Grover Alexander, Larry Alexander, Tommy Alexander and Angelo Alexander, all of Florence; three sisters, Angella Revis of Richmond, Va., Mary Alexander of Stamford and Linda Alexander of Florence; four aunts and an uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Ralph Vincent Alexander, a tax accountant and former Stamford resident, died Tuesday, April 15, at home in Palm Bay, Fla. He was 78. He died of cancer, according to his family. Born Nov. 16, 1924, in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Anna and Everett Alexander. Mr. Alexander grew up in Stamford and graduated from Stamford High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from New York University. Mr. Alexander was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe in the U.S. Army. He later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Republic Steel Corp. in Cleveland as a tax accountant for 25 years before his retirement. Mr. Alexander had lived in Palm Bay for the past 11 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay and a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Melbourne, Fla. He is survived by his second wife of 17 years, B. Rowland of Palm Bay; a stepson, George M. Bindas of Spring, Texas; a sister, Ruth Alexander of Stamford; a brother, Charles Alexander of France; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Charlotte Alexander; and a sister, Evelyn Brown. A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, April 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Palm Bay. Burial was in Melbourne cemeteryin Melbourne. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Health First Inc., 1900 Dairy Road, West Melbourne, FL 32901; or St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5310 Babcock Street, Palm Bay, FL 32905. Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home of Sebastian, Fla., handled arrangements.

Alice Haviland Raymond of Fruitland Park, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 16, at home. She was 91. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Oct. 11, 1911, in White Plains, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Austin and Ella Haviland. Mrs. Raymond grew up on her father's dairy and vegetable farm in North Stamford. She graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City in the 1920s and went on to work as an office manager for Mutual Finance Co. in Stamford for many years. She later worked for her husband's automobile parts remanufacturing business, James E. Raymond Automotive Service in Stamford. She moved to Fruitland Park in 1983. She is survived by a son, James H. Raymond of Idstein, Germany; and two grandsons. She was predeceased by her husband, James Everett Raymond, on Nov. 2. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St., Leesburg, Fla. Burial will follow at a national cemeteryin Florida.

Frank A. Allegrini of Greenwich died Tuesday, April 9, at Greenwich Hospital. He was 76. He died of heart failure, according to his family. Born Feb. 9, 1926, in Stamford, he was a son of Emma D'Andrea Allegrini of Greenwich and the late Amerigo Allegrini. Mr. Allegrini lived in the Cos Cob section of Greenwich 45 years. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a tool and dye maker for Pitney Bowes. He also was employed as a supervisor for Clairol in Stamford for many years. He is survived by his wife, J. Jean Biggiotti Allegrini of Greenwich; and two brothers, Theodore J. Allegrini and Amerigo Allegrini, both of Greenwich. He was predeceased by his daughter, Emma-Jean Allegrini. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Greenwich. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Greenwich.
