Jacklyn (Harris) Goines
NEWINGTON – Jacklyn (Harris) Goines, of 31 Green Avenue, wife of Paul Jamezell Goines, died Tuesday (Septeber 4, 2001) afternoon at a local convalescent home six days after her eightieth birthday. Born in New Kent County, Virginia, she lived in New York City before moving to Connecticut where she spent most of her adult life, and was employed at Prentice Corporation until her retirement. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Clarence Taylor of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Paul Sebastian Goines of New Britain, her mother-in-law, Margaret Brewer Blackwell of Hartford, a brother, John Harris of Williamsburg, Virginia, two sisters, Martha Woods of Baltimore, Maryland, and Bessie Jones of Williamsburg, Virginia, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 5pm at Porter’s Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, The Rev. Lawrence Bock officiating. A graveside service will take place Monday at 10am in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4pm until the time of the service.

Ethel Mitchell (Arndt) Gould
Ethel Mitchell (Arndt) Gould, 64, of 102 Lincoln Street, New Britain, CT, the widow of Dean A. Gould, died Thursday night (June 6, 2002) at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Alfred A. and the late Olive (Mitchell) Arndt, she lived most of her life in New Britain, and was presently employed at Connecticut Eye Bank for over twenty-five years. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and Unity Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Juliana Gould of West Orange, New Jersey, two grandsons, Thomas and Brian Gould, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Monday (June 10, 2002) at 11am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 147 West Main Street, New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter’s Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, on Sunday (June 9, 2002) from 4-6pm. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Memorial Fund of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1214, New Britain 06050.

Bridget (Bianca) Guzzardi
KENSINGTON - Bridget (Bianca) Guzzardi of Kensington, the widow of Paul Guzzardi, died Thursday (June 14th, 2001) at a local convalescent home eleven days before her 92nd birthday. She was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Sebastian and the late Alphonsine (Aparo) Bianca, and was a member of St. Paul Church in Kensington. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Carmelo and Linda Guzzardi of Kensington, and Paul and Francine Guzzardi of New Britain, two daughters, Mary Curry of Kensington, and Ann Watson of Avon, a brother, Paul Bianca of Terryville, a sister, Ann Colangelo of New Britain, eight grandchildren, Peter and Patrick Curry, Linda Marie Connolly, Elizabeth Carroll, and Jennifer, Paul, John, and Bridget Guzzardi, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday at 11am at St. Paul’s Church on Alling Street in Kensington. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, will be at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter’s Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, on Sunday from 3-6pm.

William L. Humphrey
KENSINGTON – William L. Humphrey, 83, of 83 Homecrest Drive, the widower of Marie (Sullivan) Humphrey, died Sunday (June 24, 2001) at a local convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Francis and the late Catherine (Dunn) Humphrey, he graduated from New Britain High School, was a Captain in the U.S. Army in WWII, and was employed as the Postmaster in the town of Kensington until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Church where he served on the Parish Council for many years, was a Fourth Degree Knight in Monsignor Greylish Council of The Knights of Columbus, and a longtime member of the Berlin Kiwanis Club. He is survived by two sons, William G. Humphrey of Fon de Lac, Wisconsin, and Peter Humphrey of Kensington, two daughters, Ann Malafronte of Hamden, and Rosemary Vasil of Kensington, a brother, George Humphrey of New Britain, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Hwy. in Kensington, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10am at St. Paul's Church on Alling Street. Burial with full military honors will be in West Lane Cemetery, Kensington Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8pm. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, Inc., Connecticut “Nutmeg” State Chapter, 113 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield 06109-4511.

Edward Albert Josefiak
KENSINGTON – Edward Albert Josefiak, 77, of 328 Robbins Road, husband of Elizabeth (Kronseder) Josefiak, died Monday afternoon (December 31, 2001) at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Berlin, he attended local schools, served in the US Army in WWII, and was employed at Stately Floors in Bristol until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Church, and the Berlin Senior Bowling League. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Angela Josefiak of Southington, a brother, Fred Bergeron of Southington, two grandsons, Michael and Daniel Josefiak, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A prayer service will be held Friday (January 4, 2002) at 10am at Porter’s Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway in Kensington. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday (January 4, 2002) from 9-10am.

Mary Mae (Sencio) Kerelejza
NEW BRITAIN – Mary Mae (Sencio) Kerelejza, 92, of 975 Corbin Avenue, widow of Peter Kerelejza died Tuesday evening (May 20, 2003) at a local convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late John and the late Eva (Karbonic) Sencio, she attended local schools, and was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation until her retirement in 1979. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church where she belonged to the Sisterhood and the Cultural Organization. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Sandra Colli and her husband Ramon of Wethersfield, Gary Sencio and his wife Beth of Holliston, Massachusetts, and Josephine Burger of Berlin. A funeral service will be held Friday morning (May 23, 2003) at 10am at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the church on Friday (May 23, 2003) from 9am until the time of the service. Lillian Naomi (Thompson) Kuhnly
KENSINGTON - Lillian Naomi (Thompson) Kuhnly, 89, formerly of Cole Lane, the widow of Raymond Taylor Kuhnly, passed on in peace Monday (August 13, 2001) afternoon at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Rockville, the daughter of the late Robert and the late Florence (Laubscher) Thompson, she was a member of Kensington Congregational Church and an avid crocheter. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald F. and Nancy Kuhnly of Berlin, and Terry T. and Diane Kuhnly of Cromwell, twin sisters, Lucille Dauphin and Lenore Hewitt, both of Rockville, two sisters-in-law, Eunice Thompson of Rockville, and Marion Thompson of Worcester, Massachusetts, two brothers-in-law, Willard Kuhnly and his wife Beverly, and Frederick Kuhnly, all of Florida, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Royal and Alberti Thompson. Her gentle way and her loving concerns for her family will be sorely missed. A special thanks to the employees and staff at Andrew House Healthcare for their very special care and devotion. A funeral service will be held Thursday (August 16, 2001) at 10:30 in the chapel at Grove Hill cemetery in the Rockville section of Vernon, The Rev. David J. Williamson officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter’s Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Hwy. in Kensington, today (Wednesday) from 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Music Fund of Kensington Congregational Church, 312 Percival Avenue, Kensington 06037.
