Nona Moreau, 51, sister of New Milford woman
Nona M. Moreau, 51, of 1526 South Bast 27th St., Ocala, Fla., formerly of Barkhamsted, died May 23. She was the wife of Gerald G. Moreau.
Mrs. Moreau was born July 24, 1950, in Winsted, daughter of the late Woodrow and Phyllis (Crunden) Bishop.
She was a member of the Riverton Congregational Church, the bowling league at Laurel Lanes in Winsted and the Girls Industrial League.
She was formerly employed by the Donut Station, Howard Shoe Store and Winsted News.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Moreau is survived by two daughters, Deborah and Amanda of Winsted; three brothers, Mark Bishop of New York, Aaron Bishop of Colebrook and Kim Bishop of Winsted; three sisters, Patricia McIntyre of Winsted, Carolyn Bachett of New Milford and Janet Anstett of West Hartland.
The Shea Funeral Home of Winsted was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Fico, 67, was father of New Milfordites
Raymond A. Fico, 67, of Monroe died May 22 in Hartford Hospital.
Mr. Fico was born in Bridgeport.
He was a Monroe resident for the past 35 years. He graduated from the University of Connecticut and taught for many years before becoming an engineer for Metro North Railroad. He retired in 1999.
He is survived by three daughters, Josephine of Stratford, Georgia of Newtown and Julie Weyant and her husband Randall of New Milford; two sons, Raymond and his wife Elizabeth of Woodbury and Ellery and his wife Angela of New Milford; a brother, Louis of Newtown; two sisters, Gloria of Trumbull and Marion Cahill of Bridgeport; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home of Trumbull was in charge of arrangements.

Elmer Worthington, 91, active in community his whole life
Elmer Harry Worthington, 91, of 110 Applewood, Southbury, died June 3 at East Woods Health Center. He was the husband of Mildred (Knight) Worthington.
Mr. Worthington was born Feb. 8, 1911, in New Milford, son of the late Harry and Helena (Moffatt) Worthington.
After graduating from New Milford High School, he began his banking career in 1928 at New Milford Savings Bank, which is now NewMil Bank. He was the treasurer when he left the bank in 1942.
Mr. Worthington graduated from Rutgers University and Harvard Business School.
He was treasurer of Belknap Manufacturing Company, Bridgeport; assistant vice president of Public National Bank, New York City; vice president of Bank of Commerce, which is now Fleet Bank; and branch manager of Savings Bank of Danbury until 1980.
While living in New Milford, he taught Sunday School and was the leader of the second Cub Scout Troop to be formed in the United States. He was a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs for almost 71 years. In 1933, he was honored as a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In 2000, he was made a Lions Club Connecticut Knight of the Blind for dedicated humanitarian service. He was honored as the only living member in the state to have served 69 years as a Lion and one of 37 people in the entire Lions Club who received that honor.
In 1946, Mr. Worthington moved to Roxbury, where he lived until 2000, when he moved to East Woods.
He served as town historian, justice of the peace, historian of the Roxbury Congregational Church, and auditor for the Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department. He also established the Roxbury Board of Finance.
Mr. Worthington held regional executive positions for the Small Business Administration during the administrations of Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. In 1976 he was appointed by the governor of Connecticut to the Board of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, on which he served until 1994.
A dedicated Democrat, he was chairman of the Roxbury Democratic Town Committee and president of Small Town Democrats for several years.
He was an avid reader and historian, having written several booklets on local history.
Besides his wife, Mr. Worthington is survived by a son, Bob and his wife Anita of Las Cruces, N.M.; two daughters, June Mendell of Mattapoisett, Mass., and Diane and her husband Jerry West of Portland, Maine; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond and his wife Audrey of Rockville, Md.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at the Roxbury Congregational Church.

Graham Brush Jr., 78, was a resident of Warren
Graham M. Brush Jr., 78, of Warren died May 14 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was the husband of Katharine Brush.
Mr. Brush was born in Greenwich and lived in Princeton, N.J., before moving to Warren. He was a graduate of Taft School and Dartmouth College, Class of 1946.
He was an Army veteran, serving in Europe and Asia, and was among the first troops to land in Hokkaido, Japan.
In 1961, he joined Johnson & Johnson and retired from the office of chairman in 1983. He served as chairman for former New Jersey Governor William Cahill’s Management Commission and was a member of President Reagan’s private sector survey on cost control.
Mr. Brush was a board member of the Warren Land Trust and former board member of the Weantinoge Heritage land trust and the Institute for American Indian Studies. He served as trustee of Princeton Day School and was a trustee emeritus of the Eden Institute.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Graham III and his wife Cassidy of Breckenridge, Colo., and Jonathan and his wife Sheila of Lawrenceville, N.J.; a brother, Donald of Norfolk; and two grandchildren, Patrick and Keelan of Lawrenceville. He was predeceased by a brother, David.

Florence L. Gilmore, 75, was New Preston resident
Florence L. “Dolly” (Thomas) Gilmore, 75, of West Shore Road, New Preston, and Boca Raton, Fla., died May 29 at New Milford Hospital. She was the wife of B. Preston Gilmore.
Mrs. Gilmore was born April 28, 1927, in North Providence, R.I., daughter of the late Howard and Lillian (McMahon) Thomas.
She moved to Waterbury in 1933 and attended Kingsbury School in Waterbury, Briarcliff School in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., Barry College in Miami Shores, Fla., and Curry College in Boston.
In the 1940s, she had a daily radio program on WATR in Waterbury. The program was started by her father, and she later owned it.
Mrs. Gilmore was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Washington and St. Joan of Arc Church in Boca Raton. She was also a member of Lake Waramaug Country Club, Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club, and Del Ray Beach Club.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Mark of Southbury and Steven of Woodbury; two daughters, Jacquelyn Cloherty of Waltham, Mass., and Susan Geiger of Waitsfield, Vt.; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant son, Gregory.
The Rowe Funeral Home of Litchfield was in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor Perkins, 82, had been active in Warren
Eleanor Margaret (Weeks) Perkins, 82, of Wolfeboro, N.H., formerly of Warren died June 2 in Hendersonville, N.C. She was the widow of Allyn W. Perkins.
Mrs. Perkins was born June 25, 1919, in Ashford, daughter of the late Ellsworth and Helen (Young) Weeks.
She was co-founder of Well Child Clinic in Warren, worked in private nursing and was founder and proprietor of Perkins Homestead, an elder care facility.
She was a member of the PTA and Grange in Warren and an EMT at the Warren Fire Department. She volunteered with Hospice, Huggins Hospital Adult Care Program and Huggins Hospital Street Fair and was a member of Pairs and Spare in Wakefield, N.H.
Mrs. Perkins was a member of Warren Congregational Church, Water Village Church, Ossipee, N.H., and First Congregational Church, Wolfeboro.
She is survived by three sons, Allyn of Mills River, N.C., James of Madison, N.H., and Daniel of Wolfeboro; a daughter, Judith Stafford of White Bear, Minn.; a brother, Ernest Weeks of Storrs; a sister, Joyce Roscoe of Storrs; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at the Warren Congregational Church on Sackett Hill Road.

Mary Ann Potter, 49, was sister of New Milford man
Mary Ann Potter, 49, of Skyedge Lane, Bethel, died May 30 at Danbury Hospital.
Mrs. Potter was born May 19, 1953, in Danbury, daughter of John and Doris (Renner) Pesente.
She graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1971. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and writing poetry, spectator sports and spending time with her family.
Besides her parents of Bethel, she is survived by a daughter, Kimberly of Bethel; a granddaughter, Angelina Mae of Bethel; two brothers, John Pesente of Whitman Mass., and Joseph Pesente of New Milford; two sisters, Doris Anderson of Baltimore and Carley Pesente of Watertown; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.

Robert B. Reeves Jr., 91, former Warren resident
Robert B. Reeves Jr., 91, of Severna Park, Md., formerly of Warren, died May 29 at Genesis Eldercare. He was the widower of Marion Reeves.
Mr. Reeves was born Aug. 29, 1910, in Troy, N.Y.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Williams College, Williamstown, Mass., and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Union Theological Seminary.
He was ordained by the Presbytery of New York in 1935. He was pastor of Severna Park Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Forest Hills, N.Y., and chaplain at Presbyterian Hospital, New York City.
Mr. Reeves was a critical associate in the psychiatry and religion program at Union Theological Seminary. He presented a lecture series on death and dying on CBS in 1974 and was published extensively.
He retired to Warren and was active in the Warren Congregational Church, the fire company, library, Good Neighbor Fund, Democratic Town Committee, Sons of the Revolution, Wichita Grange, Board of Assessors and was an EMT for Warren Ambulance.
He enjoyed photography, woodworking, painting and stamp collecting. He was interested in architecture and home building.
Mr. Reeves is survived by a son, Robert of Annapolis, Md.; two daughters, Barbara Worthington of Baltimore and Carolyn Dunn of Ligonier, Pa.; a brother, John of Brookhaven, N.Y.; a sister, Virginia Cathcart of Port Charlotte, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Warren Congregational Church Sept. 28 at 10 a.m.
The Severna Park Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William E. Fox, 82, was uncle of New Milford woman
William Edwin Fox, 82, of Little Punkup Road, Oxford, previously of Southbury, died May 29 at Bon Secours Hospital, Venice, Fla. He was the husband of Roseanne (Hunihan) Fox.
Mr. Fox was born May 11, 1920, in Milford, the son of the late William and Martha (Wooster) Fox.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Motor Patrol, Paratroopers Division, and the David S. Miles Post American Legion of Oxford.
He was a retired sales manager with Housatonic Lumber of Derby and Westcor Lumber Company of Seymour for many years.
Mr. Fox was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford and a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Derby. He was a member of the Legion of Mary, Knights of Columbus and the Men’s Guild of St. Mark’s Church.
He was also a member of the Building Committee of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford and a charter member of the original building committee of VARCA of Derby.
He was a member of the Seymour-Oxford Rotary Club as well as the Riverside Fire Company and a counselor to the Young Marines of Seymour.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Craig and his wife Sian of Oxford; three daughters, Sandra Davis of Baltimore, Roxanne of Oxford and Joan Fox and her husband Bruce Goodwin of Hollywood, Calif.; two nieces, Mary Lewis of Stratford and Phyllis Burr of New Milford; three grandchildren, Alexis Goodwin, Devin Fox and Brooke DeSanti-Fox; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Anna Lewis.
The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Route 67, Seymour, CT 06483, was in charge of arrangements.
