William Gonsowski, 58, brother of New Milford man
William P. Gonsowski, 58, of Westport died Aug. 13 in Norwalk Hospital.
Born in Norwalk, he was the son of the late William and Helen Gonsowski of Westport and was a lifelong Westport resident.
He worked initially as a landscaper for Allan U. Parsell and was employed for the last 30 years by L.H. Gault & Son of Westport. In his early years, he was an avid baseball player, and, most recently, a stock car racing fan.
Mr. Gonsowski is survived by his brother, Jack Gonsowski of New Milford; and one son, Douglas Gonsowski of Florida.
The Shaughnessey Funeral Home of Fairfield was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to High Watch Farm, P.O. Box 607, 62 Carter Road, Kent, CT 06757.

Anita Bonacci Cuhsnick, 72, was area resident
Anita Ross Bonacci Cuhsnick, 72, of 55 Sugar St., Newtown, wife of Konrad Cuhsnick and widow of Joseph Bonacci, died Aug. 14 at New Milford Hospital.
Mrs. Cuhsnick was born in Greenwich, June 26, 1927, a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Purcell) Ross.
She had lived in Newtown for the past 30 years and had been employed at Fairfield Hills Hospital before her retirement in 1992.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Ross Bonacci of Newtown and Joseph Bonacci of Bozeman, Mont.; a brother, Burke Ross of Huntington; a sister, Julie Kirkland of Naugatuck; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Ross, and a sister, Catherine Silva.
Memorial services were held Wednesday in the Northville Baptist Church in New Milford.
Arrangements were handled by the Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford.

Francis Finn, 86, was a Sherman resident
Francis "Frank" C. Finn, 86, of Sherman died Aug. 11 at his home. He was the husband of Dorothy (Stewart) Finn.
Mr. Finn was born in New York City June 16, 1913, a son of the late John J. and Josephine (Costello) Finn. He was a resident of Sherman for 38 years, coming from Whitestone, N.Y.
A retired train master, he worked for the New York City Transit Authority for some 40 years. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, Sherman.
Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a son, Brian T. Finn of Flushing, N.Y.; a daughter, Maureen Winkler of Sherman; and five grandchildren, Kenneth, Jonathan and Christopher Winkler and Brian and Kristine Finn. He was predeceased by a son, Francis J. Finn.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Amanda Pataky, 83, made lap robes for needy
Amanda L. Pataky, 83, of 63C Butter Brook Hill Apartments, New Milford, died Aug. 11 at Candlewood Valley Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 15, 1916, in Stamford. Mrs. Pataky was noted for her lap robes, which she would crochet and donate to New Milford Nursing Home and to Project Linus, which supplied the robes to the needy.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith Smith of Roxbury and Carol Mauro of Florida; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials in her name may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Alyce Rowins, 87, was born in New Milford
Alyce E. Rowins, 87, of Rowledge Pond Road, Sandy Hook, died Aug. 11 in the Lutheran Home in Southbury. She was the wife of the late John Rowins.
She was born in New Milford Sept. 24, 1911, daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys Golembeski. She was a resident of Newtown for 40 years and a member of St. Rose Church.
Mrs. Rowins is survived by two daughters, Barbara and her husband Dr. Roger Bobowick, and Jane and her husband Paul Fitzgerald of Sandy Hook; five grandchildren, Scott and Todd Bobowick, Kelly Carey, Kirsten Gelston and Adam Fitzgerald; and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Honan Funeral Home of Newtown.
Contributions may be made in Mrs. Rowins' memory to St. Rose Church, Project '99, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470.

James Warburton, 79, had been Sherman principal
James E. Warburton, 79, a Danbury native, died Aug. 5 in Denton, Texas, of a heart attack. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Jones) Warburton.
Mr. Warburton was born June 17, 1920, to Hugh A. and Margaret D. Smith and was adopted by John and Anastasia Warburton. He graduated from Danbury High School and from Danbury State Teachers College in 1941. He received his master's degree from New York University.
He began his teaching career, which lasted over 40 years, in Southbury and Ashford schools. He was teacher/principal in Bethlehem and served as principal in Bethany and Sherman.
From 1970 to 1978, Mr. Warburton was principal of Center School and Huckleberry Hill School, director of elementary education and acting superintendent of Brookfield schools, until his retirement from Connecticut in 1978. He also taught in California, Florida and Texas, where he made his most recent home.
Mr. Warburton was a veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1945. He served in Algeria, Tunisia and Italy in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Warburton is survived by his three daughters, Pamela W. Munson of Orlando, Fla., Christine E. Warburton of Minneapolis, Minn., and Colleen W. Dunlop of Corinth, Texas; his deceased son James' children, Brittany and James Warburton of Dallas, Texas; and his sister, Mary S. Lechwar of Fairfield, Calif.
The Mulkey-Mason/Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home of Texas was in charge of arrangements.

Susan Testa, 27, New Milford High graduate
Susan Marie Testa, 27, of 69 Old Ridge Road, New Milford, died Aug. 11 as a result of an automobile accident on Taylor Road in New Milford.
She was born in Stamford Dec. 11, 1971, a daughter of Michele (Davenport) Testa Ives of New Milford and the late Samuel J. Testa.
She was a graduate of New Milford High School, Class of 1989, and attended Central Connecticut State University. She was employed by the Westside Hardware Store in Stamford.
Besides her mother, Miss Testa is survived by her stepfather, Vincent Ives Sr. of New Milford; her maternal grandparents, Robert Davenport of Tucson, Ariz., and Patricia Davenport of Norwalk; two brothers, Vincent Ives Jr. of Washington and Patrick Testa of Woodbury; a sister, Kimberly Testa of New Milford; and several aunts and uncles.
Arrangements were handled by Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford.

Frank Dzubak, 73, was a resident of Kent
Frank A. Dzubak, 73, of 285A Kent Road, Kent, died Oct. 14 at his home. He was the husband of Millie (Holick) Dzubak.
Mr. Dzubak was born in Danbury, son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Borodach) Dzubak, and received his education in Danbury schools. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served in Hawaii.
Mr. Dzubak was a self-employed heating and cooling contractor and operated the Aaon Sheet Metal Company for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Danbury Exchange Club.
Besides his wife, Mr. Dzubak is survived by three sons, Wayne M. Dzubak of Boise, Idaho, Jake A. Dzubak of New Milford and Frank D. Dzubak of Saida, Colo.; a daughter, Patricia L. Cervera of North Stonington; two brothers, Robert Dzubak of North Carolina and John Dzubak of Danbury; six sisters, Ethel Wilson of Brookfield, Irene Zurinskas, Florence Maroto and Dorothy Reed, all of Danbury, Margaret Wichman of Newtown and Elizabeth Clark of New Fairfield; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude Carroll, 87, has family in New Milford
Gertrude (Aunt Gert) M. Carroll, wife of the late George Carroll, died Oct. 15 in Anderson, S.C.
Mrs. Carroll was born Nov. 2, 1911, in Manitou, N.Y., to the late Patrick O'Donnell and Margaret Morrissey O'Donnell. She retired from Pride Cleaners in Danbury and moved to Anderson in 1987 to make her home with Dorothy and Edward Lattin. She was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Anderson.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by three nieces, Dorothy Lattin of Anderson, Carol Silva of Danbury and Vicki Brogna of Southbury; and three nephews, Dennis and Adam Silva, both of Danbury, and William Leach of New Milford; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 5 Clapboard Ridge, Danbury.

Elizabeth Jurik, 95, was a Sherman resident
Elizabeth Jurik, 95, of Woods Road, Sherman, died Oct. 12 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Eino Jurik.
Mrs. Jurik was born in New York City, July 14, 1904, a daughter of Michael and Frances Pysklwa. She lived in Lake Carmel, N.Y., before moving to Sherman, where she made her home for the past 20 years.
She worked for the Empire State Building for many years and was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Sherman and the Senior Center.
Mrs. Jurik is survived by her daughter, Frances Fisher of Sherman; her son, Eino Jurik of South Salem, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Tamera and Robin Fisher and Eric Jurik. She was predeceased by a son, John Jurik.
The New Fairfield Funeral Home of New Fairfield was in charge of arrangements.

Alice Guastello, 86, mother of New Milford man
Alice E. Guastello, 86, of Park Lane Road East, New Milford, died Oct. 12 at home with her family near her. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Guastello.
Mrs. Guastello was born Aug. 17, 1913, in Bronx, N.Y., a daughter of the late DeWitt and Marion (Lepp) Brown. She lived most of her life in New York City before moving to New Milford in 1987 to live with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
Her married life was devoted to her home and family.
Mrs. Guastello is survived by a son, John F. Guastello of New Milford; two daughters, Marion Kane of Woodside, N.Y., and Frances Loftus of Boston; two brothers, Thomas Brown of Woodcliff, N.J., and Raymond Brown of Danielson; and nine grandchildren.
The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Lenore Dillon, 82, was mother of Kent resident
Lenore M. (Lawlor) Dillon, 82, died Oct. 14 at her home at 7 Locust Avenue, Danbury. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Dillon.
She was born in Danbury Sept. 27, 1917, a daughter of John and Lenore (Stearn) Lawlor. She was born, lived and died at her home on Locust Avenue.
Mrs. Dillon was a graduate of Danbury High School and a 1938 graduate of the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a private duty registered nurse until her retirement.
She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church in Danbury; a senior volunteer for the Western Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross; a member of the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association; and a member of the Thursday Bridge Club.
Mrs. Dillon is survived by two sons, William M. Dillon of Kent and Thomas J. Dillon of New York City; and a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jaime Iribarren of Danbury and Newport, R.I.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
