Augustine Douchane, 88, mother of local woman
Augustine Isabelle (Euvrard) Douchane, 88, died Nov. 30 in Vero Beach, Fla. She had been married to the late Raymond Joray and the late Robert F. Douchane.
Mrs. Douchane was born Sept. 27, 1911, daughter of the late Ernest P. and Louise L. (Jasmin) Euvrard.
She attended Ellsworth Elementary School in Sharon and Sharon High School.
Mrs. Douchane worked as a supervisor at Wassaic State School for 30 years, retiring in 1973 when she moved to Florida.
She is survived by a son, Andre J. Douchane of Reno, Nev.; a daughter, Jacqueline J. Underwood of Marble Dale; a sister, Ernestine V. Trimble of Bonita, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Roberta F. Borger.

Anne Fratepietro, 87, mother of New Milford man
Anne (Grottano) Fratepietro, 87, of Heritage Village, Southbury, died Dec. 9 at her home. She was the widow of Vincent Fratepietro.
Mrs. Fratepietro was born Sept. 8, 1912, in New York, N.Y., daughter of the late Marco and Francesca (Cavlieri) Grottano.
She attended local schools and worked in the special orders department of Estee Lauder in Manville, N.Y. She later moved to Heritage Village and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Mrs. Fratepietro is survived by two sons, Richard Fratepietro of New Milford and Marco Fratepietro of Mount Sinai, N.Y.; a brother, Bernard Grottano of New York; a sister, Martha Fratepietro of Southbury, with whom she lived; and three grandchildren.
The Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home of Southbury was in charge of arrangements.

Ingeborg Larsen, 83, lived in New Milford
Ingeborg (Anderson) Larsen, 83, of 158 Lone Oak Drive, New Milford, wife of the late George Larsen, died Dec. 11 at New Milford Nursing Home.
Mrs. Larsen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Oct. 20, 1916, a daughter of late Theodore and Fanny (Forsberg) Anderson. She spent her early life in Brooklyn and had moved to New Milford in 1976 from Staten Island, N.Y.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, James and Arlene Taylor; a sister, Gunhild Jacobsen of Toms River, N.J.; and a granddaughter, Charlene Taylor.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Donald Humphrey, 53, was a Nestle employee
Donald Ray Humphrey, 53, of 45 Sawer Hill Road, New Milford, died Dec. 11 at his home. He was the husband of Nana R. (Cook) Humphrey.
Mr. Humphrey was born Nov. 19, 1946, in Richlands, N.C., son of Macie (Melton) Humphrey of Richlands and the late Edward Humphrey.
He was an Air Force veteran and member of Andrew B. Mygatt Post 1672 VFW of New Milford. He moved to New Milford in 1968 and worked for the Nestle Company.
Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Humphrey is survived by two sons, Christopher and Matthew Humphrey of New Milford; three daughters, Dawn, Rachael and Nina Humphrey of New Milford; two brothers, John Humphrey of Florida and Charles Humphrey of New Jersey; five sisters, Alice, Macie, Barbara and Jessie of Richlands and Frances of Washington state.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn Hopper, 75, native of New Milford
Kathryn (Moore) Hopper, 75, of 171 Pumpkin Hill Road, New Milford, died Dec. 10 at New Milford Hospital. She was the wife of William Hopper.
Mrs. Hopper was born in New Milford Oct. 3, 1924, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Hastings) Moore.
She was a graduate of New Milford High School and had been employed by the law firm of Cramer and Anderson in New Milford as a legal secretary for many years, retiring in 1988. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Hopper is survived by two daughters, Linda A. Buss of Thomaston and Rebecca E. Allen; a sister, Alice M. Krosky of New Milford; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Joanne Cianflone, 70, leaves area relatives
Joanne Cianflone, 70, of Great Meadow Road, New Fairfield, died Dec. 9 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Mario Cianflone.
Mrs. Cianflone was born in Middletown Nov. 29, 1929, a daughter of John Adam and Lucy (Baur) Popp.
She lived in Danbury for 15 years before moving to New Fairfield four years ago when she made her home with her daughter Melanie and son-in-law William Ulicky.
Mrs. Cianflone worked for many years in the food service industry.
Besides her daughter Melanie, she is survived by a daughter, Ellen Haberern of Southington; a son, Robert Collins of Hawthorne, N.Y.; five stepchildren, Alexis Castle of New Milford and Christopher, Peter, Phillip and Richard Cianflone; a sister, Barbara Brainard of Middletown; and five grandchildren, Stephanie, Desiree and Melissa Wade and Justin and Samantha Menard.
The New Fairfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Cady, infant daughter of Roxbury couple
Sarah Marie Cady, infant daughter of Edwin and Julie (Holecz) Cady, of Roxbury died Dec. 11 at New Milford Hospital.
Besides her parents, Sarah is survived by her paternal grandparents, Ed and Ann Cady of Roxbury; maternal grandparents, John and Marion Holecz of Tamarac, Fla.; and great-grandmothers, Ann Colgan of Newbury Park, Calif., and Florence Carlsen of Dunnellon, Fla.
The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Adolph Amend, 87, was a Sherman resident
Adolph Amend, 87, of Anderson Road West, Sherman, died Dec. 8 at his home as a result of injuries received in a fire in his home. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Handy) Amend.
He was born in Englewood, N.J., Nov. 29, 1912, a son of the late Adolph and Alice (Howland) Amend.
Mr. Amend was a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J., after which he was employed by General Time Corporation in New York City from 1939 to 1951.
He was later a member of the faculty at the Englewood School for Boys for 24 years, where he was a dedicated educator. He retired to Sherman in 1975, after which he was a longtime teaching volunteer at the South Kent School in Kent.
Mr. Amend was a member of the Sherman Congregational Church, where he had served as a deacon, organist and choir member.
He is survived by two sons, Arthur Amend of Brookfield and Kenneth Amend of Charleton, Mass.; two daughters, Catherine George of Willow Grove, Pa., and Priscilla McSweeney of New Fairfield; a brother, David Amend of Florida; two sisters, Dorothy Rollenhagen of New Jersey and Nancy Snyder of Connecticut; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
