Anna E. Piper, 92, of 107 Osborne St., Danbury, formerly of Ridgefield, died Saturday at Mediplex of Danbury. She was the wife of William A. Piper. Mrs. Piper was born in Rye, NY, on Dec. 30, 1905, a daughter of the late Mark and Annie (Ward) Flynn. She attended Rye, NY, schools. Besides her husband, she is survived by 2 Daughters, Elizabeth A. Piper of Wilton and Jean Nowlin of Pound Ridge, NY; 2 Brothers, Edward and Carl Gonzales, both of Bethel; 2 Sisters, Jeanette Sivo of Brookfield and Caroline Barrett of Newtown; 3 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; and Several Nieces/Nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.

Beulah F. Kinner
Beulah F. Kinner, 87, of Danbury, Conn. and formerly of Whitehall, N.Y., died June 17, 1998 at the home of her daughter in Danbury. Born March 18, 1911 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of Herbert and Beulah (LaMay) Beaty. Beulah was a homemaker for Russell Frost of Norwalk for many years and upon retiring lived with her daughter. She spent many happy days doing her needlework and watching her great-grandchildren grow. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Moose and a member of the Baptist Church in Whitehall. Mrs. Kinner was predeceased by her husband John W. Kinner who died in 1961 and also two brothers Donald and Russell Beaty. Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy (Kinner) Bardin and her husband Leon of Danbury; a grandson, John Bardin of Danbury; a granddaughter, Jennifer Bardin of Boonville, N.Y.; five great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Joslyn, John, Jacob and Ashley. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Averill of Glens Falls, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sat., June 20th at 3 p.m. at the Jillson Funeral Home Inc., 46 Williams St., Whitehall by the Rev. David Smith, Pastor of the United Methodist Church, Whitehall, officiating. Burial will be in North Granville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Lillian McCloskey
Miss Lillian M. McCloskey, 79, formerly for Butterbrook Manor, New Milford, died Thursday at The Kent Health Care Center. She was born on Sept. 29, 1918, a daughter of the late Charles and Lillian McCloskey. At the time of her retirement, Miss McCloskey was a library assistant for Grolier Inc. She is survived by several cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield, Saturday at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y. There are no calling hours. The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.

Leo C. Wilderman
Leo C. Wilderman of 17 Crestview Drive, Brookfield died at his home Thursday. He was the husband of Marthe Alix Fazil Wilderman. He was born in Bridgeport son of Joseph and Ella Mariarty Wilderman, was a graduate of Warren Harding High School, Bridgeport and of Ohio University with a B.A. degree in Journalism. He moved later to Stratford. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy Air Corps and later in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He began his career as a broadcasting and news reporter for a radio station in New Bedford, Mass. He later became public relations director for Chrysler Corp. and also directed many fund-raising campaigns for the City of New York. He was director of development for the Near East Foundation and for the Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, both in New York City. During these many events he met and became friendly with former President Richard M. Nixon. He served later as director of sports information for the University of Connecticut, a post he held for three years. He became associate director of fund raising for the American Lung Association for six years and was president of development for the Danbury Hospital for 12 years. He was an avid sports fan especially following the UConn programs and was a man of many interests and of reading. He was a member of the Brookfield Republican Town Committee, the Inlands-Wetlands Commission also of Brookfield, was a founder of the American Shakespeare Theatre of Stratford, Friend of Greenknoll Y.M.C.A., and was a Justice of the Peace and as a young man was a life guard. He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Geoffrey L. Wilderman of Brookfield and Jon J. Wilderman of Venice, Calif., a brother, Albert Wilderman of Fairfield, Conn., a sister, Gertrude Wilderman of Stratford, Conn., and a cousin, Tom Moore of Bridgeport. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at graveside in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd., Brookfield, Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 30 West St., Danbury, CT 06810.

Walter Heissenbuttel
Walter J. Heissenbuttel, 50, of East Farm Lane in Ridgefield died Thursday at his home after an extended illness. He was the husband of Helene McNerney Heissenbuttel. Mr. Heissenbuttel was born Sept. 4, 1947 in Long Island and grew up in Baldwin, N.Y. He was the son of Elsie Hesse Heissenbuttel of Freeport, N.Y. and the late Henry F. Heissenbuttel. Mr. Heissenbuttel attended Baldwin public schools and earned his B.S. in economics from SUNY/Oneonta in 1969. He also earned an M.S. in labor relations at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1971. At U-Mass he met his wife, Helene. Mr. Heissenbuttel's professional career began at the Office of the Mayor in the City of Springfield, Mass., where he was the deputy manpower coordinator. He then entered the paper industry as a human resource and labor relations specialist. His career took him to North Ridgeville, Ohio in 1976. There he earned his J.D. from the University of Akron and was admitted to the Ohio Bar. In 1979 he moved to Ridgefield where he had resided since. In 1988 he was recognized by the University of Massachusetts during its 125th anniversary years as one of the 125 Alumni to Watch; he was fond of noting that Bill Cosby was not included among the alumni honored. During the final years of his career, his focus shifted to general management as an executive vice president. In 1994 he was admitted to the Connecticut Bar. He had been retired for two years. Since 1988 he had been a member of the Sprite Island Yacht Club in Norwalk. He was an avid sailor and crewed for his wife when they raced their Flying Scot locally and at various regattas in the Northeast. Besides his wife and mother, survivors include two sons, Peter and David, both of Ridgefield; a daughter, Kristen of Ridgefield; a brother: Henry of Byron, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret Cone of Merrick, N.Y. and Christa Thavenius of Campbell Hall, N.Y. His father, Henry, predeceased him in 1977. His brother, Peter, died in 1968 while serving in the U.S. Army. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Church St., Georgetown. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield. Friends will be received on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Kane Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. Marian Crehan
Marian Crehan, 101, wife of the late John M. Crehan, formerly of Glen Apartments, Danbury, died at the Heritage Heights nursing home on Sunday morning. She was born in Danbury, January 16, 1897, daughter of the late Frederick & Bertha (Benedict) Green. She had been a lifetime Danbury resident and had been a home maker. As a younger woman, she had enjoyed cooking, gardening and bingo; she had also been an avid reader. Mrs. Crehan is survived by 2 daughters; Lillian Veilleux of Danbury and Helen Connors of Lilburn, GA; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery; there will be no calling hours. John A. Comanda
The death of John A. Comanda, 82, of 15 Greenview Drive, Danbury, occurred at his home Sunday morning. He was the husband of the late Valley M. Santandrea Comanda whose death occurred in Danbury, October 3, 1997. He was a lifelong Danbury resident born here June 12, 1916 son of Dominic and Grace Passarella Comanda. He was educated in Danbury schools and was a graduate of Danbury High School. He was an Insurance and Real Estate Broker self employed as the John A. Comanda Agency for over 2 decades retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church. He is survived by 2 brothers, Nicholas Comanda of Bradenton, Fla. and Anthony Comanda of Danbury, 2 sisters, Ann Cohen and Lucille Schecher both of Danbury, a nephew, Peter Cohen of Sherman and a niece, Susan Brocious of New Hampshire. Private funeral services will be held at Cornell Memorial home, 247 White St. with Cremation to follow. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at a later date. Gerald W. Killing
Gerald W. Killing, age 52, a prominent Newtown and Southbury house builder, died unexpectedly Saturday in Newtown. Mr. Killing resided at 12 New Lebbon Rd., Sandy Hook. He was born in Bridgeport April 22, 1946 son of Alfred Killing of Ludlow Vt. and the late Patricia (Nolan) Killing. He was a lifelong resident of Newtown and a graduate of Newtown High School. He was past president of the Newtown Builders Assn. During the Vietnam Conflict, he served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived besides his father by his former wife Caryl Stratton, 1 son John Hallock of Newtown, 3 daughters Bridget B. Tuttle of Oxford, Ct., Sarah J. & Susannah Killing of Newtown. 3 brothers Alfred Killing Jr. of Southbury, Robert Killing of Southbury and Richard Simon of Newtown. 2 grandchildren Jeremy & Shannon Tuttle. 1 aunt Marguerite Eldridge of Sandy Hook. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 23, 1998 10:00am from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown and at 10:30am at St. Rose Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Newtown Village Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 6 to 9:00pm.

James T. McGuire
James T. McGuire, age 56, of Bethel, died on Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. He was the former husband of Shirley (Denski) McGuire. Mr. McGuire was born in Portchester, New York, July 18, 1941, a son of Margaret (Dodd) McGuire, and the late James H. McGuire. He attended schools in New York state, and had been a resident of Bethel since 1968. Mr. McGuire was self employed as a contractor, working in both residential and commercial painting and contracting for a number of years. Mr. McGuire was a parishioner of the Church of St. Mary, Bethel. In addition to his mother and former wife, Mr. McGuire is survived by his longtime companion, Somkit Thompson, of Bethel, two sons, Darren P. McGuire, and Sean M. McGuire, both of Bethel, one daughter, Kelley E, McGuire, of Bethel, one brother, Kevin McGuire, of Bethel, three sisters, Maureen Sheridan, and Carol Rustici, both of Danbury, and Kathleen Simpson-Robbie, of Monroe, three grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Michael J. McGuire, and Daniel P. McGuire, all of Bethel, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24th, at 9:30am from the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, to the Church of St. Mary, Bethel, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 thru 9 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Aina Poilovs
Aina Poilovs, 75, died June 20, 1998 at her home in Lake Carmel, NY, where she had lived for 48 years. She was born Oct. 3, 1922, in Riga, Latvia, daughter of Peteris and Adele Lacis Klavins. She was a graduate of the University of Riga, Latvia. Mrs. Poilovs had been a clerical worker with Reader's Digest in Pleasantville, NY. She was president of the New York Latvian Chorus and a member of the Altnus Theatre Group. She is survived by three daughters, Anda Smith of Lake Carmel, NY, Dagmara Nunn of Saugerties, NY, and Zinta Klavins of New York City; a son, Peter Poilovs of Bethel, CT; a brother, Juris Klavins of Bridgewater, NJ; and five grandchildren. Visiting hours Monday 7 to 9 p.m. at The Adams-Cordovano Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Carmel, NY. Funeral services Tuesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Latvian Cemetery, Tannersville, NY.

Josephine M. Schulze
Josephine Maud Schulze, 89, a retired New Fairfield based real estate broker, died Sunday after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Schulze was born in Somerville, Mass., December 10, 1908, a daughter of John and Sarah Wheeler Buchman, and had lived in Stamford for many years prior to moving to New Fairfield. She had been a foreman for the former Freyberg Brothers Company, in Stamford for over twenty years, and moved to New Fairfield in 1957, where she had operated Schulze Real Estate Agency. Long active in community politics, she was a former member of the Democratic Town Committee, and she was a founding member of the Squantz Engine Co. of the New Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department, and she had been instrumental in the acquisition of the property for the present firehouse, and the formation of the Squantz Engine Company, and was a member of the Squantz Ladies' Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Greater Danbury Board of Realtors. Mrs. Schulze is survived by her daughter, Eileen S. Schoenhardt, of New Fairfield, her son, Robert E. Dudley, of Stamford, a sister, Marie Bean, of Boring, Oregon, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was the widow of Lawrence John Dudley, and Edwin Schulze. A funeral will be held at THE NEW FAIRFIELD FUNERAL HOME, Route -37 at Cottontail Road, New Faiifeld, on Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. Friends will be received on Tuesday, after 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mountainview Cemetery.

Concetta T. Ciccarelli
The death of Concetta T. Ciccarelli, 74, of Southbury, formerly of Danbury, occurred at her home Saturday. She was the wife of the late Pasquale Ciccarelli. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., March 10, 1924, daughter of Charles and Angela DeMona Pierro. She received her education there and was a high school graduate studying dress making and clothing design. She moved to Danbury in 1963 and lived in Southbury with a son for the past 1 1/2 years. She had worked as a self employed seamstress for 10 years but devoted her married life to her home and family. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. She is survived by 2 sons, Patrick J. Ciccarelli of Southbury and Gerard C. Ciccarelli of New Milford, a brother, Michael Pierro of Wassaic, N.Y. and a sister, Dolores Scheiner of Washington, D.C., 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Thursday morning at 9:15 to St. Gregory the Great Church at 10:00 for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home Wednesday from 2 to 5:00 and 7 to 9:00 PM. Alzira Candido
Alzira Candido, 72, of 17 High St., Danbury, wife of Antonio Candido, died at her residence on Saturday morning. She was born in Ferreiros do Dao, Portugal, March 24, 1926, daughter of the late Virgilio & Amelia (Bragues) Luis. She came to the United States in 1970 and had been a Danbury resident since. Mrs. Candido was a retired employee of the former American Radionics Co. of Danbury and was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: 2 sons, Antonio Alves of Bethel and Jose Alves of Brookfield; 2 daughters, Elisa Marques and Mary Jo Sousa, both of Danbury; 3 brothers, Antonio and Jose Luis, both of Portugal and Sabino Luis of Danbury; 1 sister, Felicina Luis of Portugal; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Danbury, on Monday morning at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Portugal at the convenience of the family. Robert A. Galan
Robert A. Galan, 59, a truck driver for Valleries Transportation in Norwalk for 31 years, died Sunday at Danbury Hospital.

A resident of Bethel for more than 30 years, Mr. Galan was the husband of Ellen J. Burgoyne Galan.

He was born in New York City on Jan. 16, 1939, a son of Antonio and Elizabeth Bongrazio Galan. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of Local 191 of the Teamsters Union and of St. Mary's Church in Bethel.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert A. Galan Jr. of Bethel; two daughters, Christine Ann Galan of Bethel and Danielle Jane Galan-Latham of Danbury; three brothers, Edward Galan of Meriden, Conn., Alfonso Galan of New City, N.Y., and Ronald Galan of Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters, Delores Neason of Charlotte, N.C., and Pamela Campbell of Maywood, N.J.; a grandson T.J. Latham of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews.

CALLING HOURS: Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel.

SERVICES: Thursday at 11 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Bethel. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel.'

Theodora H. Seymer
Theodora H. Seymer, 86, involved in charity work throughout her life, died Saturday at her home at Cherry Heights Terrace in Sandy Hook.

Mrs. Seymer was the wife of the late Richard H. Seymer.

She was born in Newark, N.J., on June 26, 1911, a daughter of William and Theodora White Hodecker. After graduating from Newark High School, she went on to graduate from the Katherine Gibbs School in New York City.

Before moving to Newtown in 1992, Mrs. Seymer lived in Lynbrook, N.Y., and then for several years in Stamford, Conn.

She served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross and the National Federation for the Blind. She also was a volunteer for many years at the Stamford Hospital Thrift Shop.

Her survivors include a son, William E. Seymer of Albany, Ind.; a daughter, Carla Seymer (Holroyd) of Sandy Hook; and four grandchildren.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 30 West St., Danbury 06810, or to the Cyrenius H. Booth Library, 25 Main St., Newtown 06470.

CALLING HOURS: Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown.

SERVICES: Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Honan Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.

Eleanor L. Ticehurst
Eleanor L. Schofield Ticehurst, 76, a former employee of the Barden Corp. of Danbury and the Moseman Co. of Brewster, died Sunday at the Bethel Health Care Center.

Mrs. Ticehurst, of 41 Candlewood Park, Danbury, was the wife of Paul V. Ticehurst.

A Danbury resident for most of her life, she was born in Rockwood, N.Y., on May 13, 1921, a daughter of William and Bertha Hull-Keane Schofield. She attended Bethel schools and Danbury High School.

Mrs. Ticehurst was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookfield. She was also a member of the Wednesday Morning Prayer Group.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Tice hurst is survived by a daughter, Do ris-May O'Connell of Bethlehem, Conn.; a brother, Alfred Schofield of Leesburg, Fla.; a sister, Mildred Robinson of Bethlehem; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Eleanor L. Tice hurst Memorial Fund, c/o St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Route 25, Brook field 06804.

There will be no calling hours.

SERVICES: Saturday at 11 a.m., memorial services St. Paul's Epis copal Church, Brookfield.

Cremation Services of Western Connecticut, 55 Main St., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.'

Betty Lou Tomaselli
Betty Lou Tomaselli, 58, a sales person at Filene's at the Danbury Fair Mall for 10 years, died Sunday at her home.

An area resident since 1981, Mrs. Tomaselli lived at 15 Ox Drive in Brookfield. She was the wife of Robert F. Tomaselli.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Feb. 7, 1940, a daughter of Louis A. and Elizabeth Sabino Silvestri of North Arlington, N.J.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Brookfield and ``I CAN.''

Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Tomaselli is survived by a son, Robert Tomaselli of Southbury; four daughters, Vivian B. Warren of Voorhees, N.J., Suzann S. Ridge of Colonial Hills, Va., Dianna M. To maselli of Danbury, and Trisha N. Tomaselli of Brookfield; a brother, Louis A. Silvestri Jr. of Columbus, Miss.; two sisters, Barbara Martin of Gastonia, N.C., and JoAnne E. Ra mirez of Nutley, N.J.; six grandchil dren; and several nieces and nephews.
