Agnes E. Pellerin

Agnes Elizabeth (Hines) Pellerin, 97, of Newington, wife of the late Emile J. Pellerin, died unexpectedly Tuesday at New Britain General Hospital. She was born in Plymouth, daughter of the late Robert E. and Margaret (Lynch) Hines and had lived in Danbury many years, moving to live with her daughter in Newington, four years ago.

Mrs. Pellerin is survived by her three daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret and Robert Hibbert of Danbury, Jean M. Pellerin of Newington and Laura Robedee of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren, Mary Gustavson of Danbury, Donna Lounsbury of Waterbury, David Hibbert of Las Vegas, Nev., Paula Meyers of Eugene, Ore., Jay Robedee of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Kevin Robedee of Arlington, Texas and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers; Robert E. Hines Jr. and Francis Hines.

The funeral procession will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, Newington.

Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury will be private.

Visitation will be Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Donations in memory of Agnes may be made to Holy Spirit Church, 183 Church St., Newington or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Robert W. Connor Sr.

Robert W. Connor Sr., age 73, retired Connecticut State Police Sergeant died Wednesday, September 15, 1999 at his home, 80 Main St., Newtown. He was the husband of Ethel (Brauch) Connor.

Mr. Connor was born in Bridgeport March 4, 1926, a son of the late Thomas and Anna (Bowden) Connor. He was a resident of Newtown since 1955.

Mr. Connor joined the Connecticut State Police in 1954. While a member of the State Police, he served as a Detective and Sergeant. At the time of his retirement in 1989, he was the senior member of the Connecticut State Police. He was an original member of the State Police Major Crime Squad. Mr. Connor was a founding member and past President of the Tri-State Organized Crime Council. He was a longtime member of the Litchfield County Detectives Association, the Fairfield County Detectives Conference and the Police Association of Connecticut. Mr. Connor was a member of the State Police squad that was assigned to guard John F. Kennedy during his 1960 Presidential Campaign swing through Connecticut.

During World War II, Mr. Connor served in the US Navy and saw action in North Africa and the North Atlantic Campaigns. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Long active in Newtown Government affairs, Mr. Connor served for many years as Head Election Moderator. He was chairman of the Borough of Newtown Zoning Commission and a former member of the Newtown Legislative Council. Mr. Connor was a former President of the Newtown Ambulance Association. He served Boy Scout Troop 70 as Committee Chairman.

Mr. Connor was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of Virgilius Council #185, Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by 2 sons; Robert W. Connor Jr. and Roger Connor both of Newtown; 2 daughters-in-law, Linda and Janet Connor; 2 brothers, Raymond of Waitsfield, Vt. and Jack of Rocky Hill; 5 grandchildren, Robert W. III, Shannon, Roger Jr., Eileen and Sarah Connor. He was predeceased by a son, Attorney Raymond Connor.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, 10 a.m. from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in St. Rose Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Contributions may be made to Regional Hospice of Western CT, 30 West St., Danbury, CT 06810.

John T. van der Goes

John T. van der Goes died at the Danbury Hospital on September 14, 1999, at the age of 82. He was the husband of the late Rose S. van der Goes and lived at the 12 Chinmoy Lane in New Milford.

Mr. van der Goes was born in Haarlem, Holland, October 29, 1916, son of the late Pieter and Henrick Bouma van der Goes.

He received his education in Holland and served in the Dutch Army in Indonesia. It was there he met his beloved wife and they were married for 52 years until her death in October of 1998. They came to America in 1957 and settled in this area.

Mr. van der Goes was a Supervisor for the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and then worked in the maintenance department of Fairfield Hills Hospital until his retirement in 1978.

He is survived by his daughters; Marinella Butkowsky of New Fairfield and Yolanda Cote and her husband, John of New Milford; his 6 grandchildren, Dawn and Desiree Butkowsky of New Fairfield, Ronald Rajock of Bristol and Jason Rajock of Danbury, Frederick Foshay and Danielle Rodman both of New Milford; 2 great-grandchildren, Ronald Rajock Jr. and Ashley Rajock; his sister-in-law An van der Goes of Holland and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield. Burial will be in Prince of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at Brookfield Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897-2523.

Derek J. Molloy

Derek J. Molloy of Bethel, died on September 14, 1999.

He was the beloved son of Kathryn; dear brother of Jeffrey and Terry; partner of Annie Meikle; and father of Julie Molloy.

Calling hours are 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Cassidy Flynn Funeral Home, 288 Main St., Mt. Kisco, N.Y. Funeral Mass is at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Francis of Assisi Church, Mt. Kisco.

Larry S. Miguel Sr.

Larry S. Miguel Sr., 80, of 7 Albers Rd., Danbury died Monday, September 13, 1999 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Sally (Oliva) Miguel.

Mr. Miguel was born in Silveira de Sima, Portugal on October 23, 1918, a son of the late Joseph and Maria (Simoes) Miguel.

Educated in Portugal, he came to the United States in 1931 and has been a Danbury resident ever since.

Mr. Miguel served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. During his tour of duty he served as a Drill Instructor in St. Petersburg, Florida, training the troops. He continued his service as a Staff Sergeant in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre with the 505th Bombardment Group on the island of Tinian.

He worked many years as a purchasing agent for the former Fabric Fire Hose Company of Sandy Hook and then went to work for the Davis and Geck Company of Danbury, where he worked in the Security Department until his retirement in 1984. Mr. Miguel was also the Director and on-air personality of the "Beautiful Sounds of Portugal" Sunday morning radio show on WINE radio, bringing the Portuguese music and culture to the Danbury area by commercial radio.

He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Catholic War Veterans, Disabled American War Veterans and he served as City Councilman from 1952 to 1958 and as Second Selectman from 1969 to 1977.

Besides his wife of 53 years, he is survived by 2 sons; Larry Miguel of Danbury and Ronald Miguel of Tallahassee, Fla.; 2 brothers, Manuel Miguel of Danbury and Americo Miguel of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 4 sisters, Phyllis MacKinnon, Eleanor Cassidy and Julie Corona of Danbury and Linda Batista of Newtown; 3 grandchildren, Brian, Mark and Tricia Miguel; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Karyssa Miguel as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Friday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

John T.van der Goes

John T. van der Goes died at the Danbury Hospital on September 14, 1999 at the age of 82. He was the husband of the late Rose S. van der Goes and lived at the 12 Chinmoy Lane in New Milford.

Lillian D. Mills

Lillian D. Mills, 98, formerly of 55 Prospect St., Ridgefield died Monday evening at Glen Hill Convalescent Center after a long illness. She was the wife of the late George Mills.

Mrs. Mills was born in Auberg, Vt. on October 29, 1900, a daughter of the late Homer and Bess Gonyea Curtis. Mrs. Mills worked at the Norma Hoffman Bearing Company in Stamford for many years until her retirement.

A 17 year Ridgefield resident, Mrs. Mills was formerly of South Salem, N.Y. She was a member of the Ridgefield O.W.L.S. Mrs. Mills was predeceased by a son, Earl Randlett.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce A. Lavatori of Ridgefield; one sister, Bernice Smith of Ridgefield; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Kane Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah St., Ridgefield with the Rev. Randy Day, Pastor of the Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church of Ridgefield, officiating. Burial will follow in Mapleshade Cemetery, Ridgefield.

Friends may call on Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Contributions in Mrs. Mills' memory may be made to the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, 90 East Ridge, Ridgefield,.CT 06877.

>Gregory J. Wright

Gregory J. Wright of Brookfield died at Danbury Hospital on September 12, 1999 at the age of 54. He was the husband of Andrea (Stoll) Wright.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on September 20, 1944, he was a son of Edward Wright of Rochester, N.Y. and the late Eleanor (Kingston) Watson.

Mr. Wright was a graduate of Ryerson Technical School, Toronto, Canada. He was a self-employed architect.

Besides his wife and father, he is survived by 3 stepsons; Tyler, Bryar and Keeler Judson all of Brookfield; first cousin, Allan Stewart; and second cousins, Bryan and Nancy Stewart all of Canada.

A Memorial Service will be held in Canada at a later time.

Cremation took place at the convenience of the family. There were no calling hours. Cremation Services of Western CT, 55 Main St., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions in Mr. Wright's memory may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Inc., Fairfield County Chapter, 500 Summer St., Stamford, CT 06901.

Darel L. Bowman

Darel Lamont Bowman, 26, of 163 South Street, Danbury, husband of Tracy (Ruscoe) Bowman, died on Monday, September 13, 1999 at his home.

Darel was born in Roxboro, North Carolina, January 22, 1973, a son of Alphonso Cooke III of Durham, North Carolina and Betty Bowman of New Milford.

A resident of Danbury since 1980 coming from North Carolina, he attended Danbury schools, graduated from Danbury High School and attended Laney College, Oakland, California. Active in youth football, he was a coach for the DAYO Trojans and avid fisherman and was also an area disc jockey.

Despite his physical limitations due to illness, the courage, strength and patience he had allowed him to be the loving, kind, caring and concerned person he was.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three children; Timmy, Tyler and Darel Jr.; his maternal grandmother, Anna Bowman of Roxboro, N.C.; three brothers, Shawn Bowman Sr. of Norwalk, Jeffrey and Jaime Bowman both of New Milford; a sister, Sandra Stanton of North Carolina; a God-daughter, Nefretiri Bowman; and God-brother and sister, Ryan and Monique Brown as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Victory Christian Church, 23 Eden Drive, Danbury with the Rev. Bobby Gardner, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury (between White and Osborne Streets) on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Darel's memory may be made to the Timmy, Tyler and Darel Bowman Jr. Trust Fund for Educational Purposes, c/o Mrs. Barbara Chapman, 148 Great Plain Road, Danbury, CT 06811.

Jose Cunha

Jose Cunha, 88, husband of Maria L. (Boto) Cunha, died at the Danbury Hospital on Monday morning.

He was born in Portugal, May 17, 1911, son of the late Manuel and Maria Claudina Cunha. He came to the United States in 1937 and has been a Danbury resident since that time. Mr. Cunha had worked as a laborer for local construction companies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Zita C. DaSilva of Danbury; a sister, Rosa C. Tavares-Belo of Portugal; 10 grandchildren, Teresa Samuelson, Linda, Fatima, Cristina and Daniel DaSilva, Anna Maria Barton, Isabel Ambrose, Elizabeth Young and John Paul and Antonio Simoes Jr.; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Alda C. Simoes in 1988 and several brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Danbury, on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, CT 06810 or to Regional Hospice, 30 West St., Danbury, CT 06810.

Cordula E. (Prokopy) Telepak

Cordula E. (Prokopy) Telepak, 85, formerly of Westwood Drive and Candlewood Park, died at the Harborside Glen Hill Convalescent Center Sunday evening. She was the wife of the late Stephen J. Telepak.

Born in Danbury March 12, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Erna Janz Prokopy. She attended Danbury schools and was a lifelong Danbury resident.

She had been employed as a secretary for the Bard Parker Company and the Sperry Rail, Inc.

Mrs. Telepak was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, its Women's Lutheran Missionary League, Ladies Aid Society and for several years was a volunteer for the Danbury Chapter of the American Red Cross and of the Danbury Hospital.

Surviving are 2 nephews; Rev. Robert P. Gollenberg of Watertown and Keith A. Gollenberg of Granby; 1 niece, Lynn M. Scudieri of St. Louis, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie L. Prokopy of Brookfield.

Funeral services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robert P. Gollenberg, her nephew and Pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Thomaston, officiating.

Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home Wednesday morning 1 hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Step of Faith of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 26 West St., Danbury, CT 06810.
