Wheat sold in Baltimore Wednesday for 71 1/4 and 71 1/2 cents: corn, 48 1/2 cents.

Our friends and patrons would oblige us by sending to this office news items and personal notes of interest.

Mr. Harry D. Johnson, of Philadelphia, was a Middletown visitor this week.

Miss Sadie Flinn was entertained be Mrs. Sarah Gill and family over Sunday.

Mr. Harry Howell is attending the G. A. R. encampment in Washington, D.C.

Miss Mary Maxwell has been entertaining Miss Carrie Downey, of New Castle.

Mr. John W. Smith , of Paulding O., is the guest of his aunt, Mrs. T. W. Carty.

Mrs. W. T. Connelle and daughter, Laura, spent several this week in Philadelphia.

Miss Emma Jones, of York, Pa., is being entertained by Miss Helen Clayton on Green St.

Misses Minnie Mesick, of Cecilton, and Bessie Merritt, of Warwick, were Middletown visitors on Wednesday.

Mrs. Charles M. Stanger and Mrs. Josephine Dickson and children were Middletown visitors on Wednesday.

Mr. William A. McWhorter, of Norfolk, Va., was the guest of his cousin, Mr. J. F. McWhorter, this week.

Mrs. G. W. Peterson and Mrs. Hurit, of Chesapeake City, Md., were entertained by Mrs. G. W. Peterson on Thursday.

State Treasurer and Mrs. Martin B. Burris attended the G.A.R. National Encampment in Washington, D.C., this week.

Mr. Harry Dunn Eliason who was been critically ill at his home in Wilmington with typhoid fever is much better at this writing.

Captain and Mrs. Edward Mattson, of Camden, N.J., were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Roberts during the week.

Mrs. Robert Robinson, of Dover, and Miss Lou Lynch, of Philadelphia, were entertained by Mrs. H. C. Eliason on Friday last.

Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Burgess and daughters, who spent the summer in Middletown, have returned to their home in Ridley Park, Pa.

Mr. Preston Hardcastle, who has been visiting his sister, Mrs. Thomas Cochran, left Monday for Chicago, where he has accepted a position.

Mrs. J. P. Pwining and son, of Philadelphia, and Mr. J. D. Jones, of Hastings, Pa., are visiting Mr. Mrs. John R. Jones, on North Board Street.

Mr. and Mrs. Julian Cochran have issued invitations to the married of their daughter, Miss Lucie, to Mr. Carl Harrington, of Philadelphia, on Thursday afternoon, October 23rd, at 2 o'clock. The ceremony will take place at St. Anne's Church, this town.
