Brabara Elizabeth Krogman
Barbara Elizabeth Krogman of Middletown, formerly of Camden, N.J., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at her daughter s home. She was 72.

Mrs. Krogman was born on Jan. 24, 1935, in Camden, the daughter of the late Antone and Barbara (Rasback) Tillman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Krogman; and a son, John Barnett.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Rieker of Middletown and Theresa A. Barnett of Collins Wood, N.J.; three sisters, Anna Wear and Delores Jimeniz, both of Audubon, N.J., and Lorretta Vachione of Philadelphia; three brothers, George Tillman of Philadelphia, Antone Tillman of Manuta, N.J., and Thomas Tillman of Lewes; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held on March 3 at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, Middletown.

Burial was private.

Jean T. (Flanigan) Lee
Jean T. (Flanigan) Lee died peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Broadmeadow Health Care in Middletown, surrounded by her family. She was 84.

Mrs. Lee was born and raised in the Brandywine Creek area of Wilmington, where she was a member of St. Joseph on the Brandywine RC Church.

She was a lifelong homemaker and worked for many years as a librarian at the Woodlawn Branch Library.

Mrs. Lee was an avid reader and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Broadmeadow Health Care and the Vitas Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care.

Mrs. Lee was a member of the St. Thomas RC Church for more than 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene A. and Anna (Shannon) Flanigan; a daughter, Ann (Lee) Sendlinger; and two brothers, Felix Flanigan and Francis Flanigan.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James F. Lee; three children, Helen Lee, Patricia Vintigni and James Lee; five beloved grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicholas, Michael, Jeffrey, Elise; three great-granddaughters, Jessica, Eliana and Justice; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 5 at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Wilmington.

Burial was in the Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 301 N. Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19805.

Lillian M. (Robinson) Redman
Lillian M. (Robinson) Redman of Chesapeake City, Md., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Laurelwood Care Center in Elkton, Md. She was 83.

Mrs. Redman was born on Dec. 14, 1923, in Townsend, the daughter of the late Hartford and Isabelle (Jones) Robinson.

She was a seamstress for more than 50 years, working at General Clothing in Smyrna for 20 of those years.

Mrs. Redman enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lenore McVey; and a grandson, Robert Lewis Koeller.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harry E. Redman Jr.; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda and Harry Shifflett, Carolyn and Steve Tarkka and Patsy and Harry Dominick; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Harry E. III and Sarah Redman and John and Kathy Redman; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery.

Robert L. Big Bob Smith
Robert L. Big Bob Smith of Earleville, Md., died suddenly due to a vehicle accident near Middletown on Saturday, March 3, 2007. He was 25.

Mr. Smith enjoyed fishing, landscaping, cooking and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved just being with friends and family. He was employed by Letica Corp.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Robert Capel and Earl and Ruth Ivory; and his maternal grandfather, Reese R. Johnson.

He is survived by his parents, Gene and Terri Smith of Earleville; a sister, who was his best friend, Stacey Smith; his maternal grandmother, Lorraine Johnson of Townsend; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Jean Smith of Middletown; a great-grandmother, Mary Capel of Chestertown, Md.; his aunt and godmother, Kathy Sissy Smith of Middletown; two uncles, Randy Johnson and Michael Smith; and a host of cousins and dear friends.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 9 at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery.

Gregory E. Watts
Gregory E. Watts of Townsend passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Christiana Health Care in Newark. He was 43.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ginger Watts Mortinson.

He is survived by his father, H. Edward Watts and his companion, Norma Lee Cooling; his stepfather, Ed Mortinson; his paternal grandmother, Madge Watts, with whom he lived; two sons, Gregory and Gunnar; a sister and a brother-in-law, Kelly and Donald Loeb; two nieces, Mandee and Britney Watts; a grandniece, Mackenzie; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services were held on March 6 at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, Middletown.

Burial was in Townsend Cemetery.

Russell E. Mohring
Russell E. Mohring of Townsend passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was 60.

Ms. Mohring was employed as a welder with DPL for 35 years. He was a member of Local 1238 IBEW.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Rebecca and Harvey Jaksch and Russann L. M. and Mike Haws; four grandchildren, Taylor, Trent, Collin and Russell; and a brother and a sister-in-law, James and Susan.

Services were held on March 4 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, Middletown.

Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Miles Lee Mallory

Miles Lee Mallory of Galena and formerly of Salisbury, Maryland died on Monday, March 4, 2002 at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was electrocuted in a work-related accident. He was 39.

Born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina on June 21, 1962, he was the son of James Polk Mallory of Berlin, Md. and Mary Lou Fielder Cannon of Hebron, Md., both formerly of Vicksburg, MS. Miles attended James M. Bennett and Wicomico High Schools. Following high school he served in the United States Army. Miles was then employed for 12 years by Conectiv as a lead lineman. For the past two years he has been the co-owner and lead lineman of the Rock Creek Line Construction Company. Miles and his wife Audrey are the owner/operators of George s Deli in Middletown, DE. They also own the Green Street Barber Shop in Middletown.

In addition to his mother and father, Miles is survived by his wife of 14 years, Audrey C. Mallory of Galena; two children, Chad Daniel Mallory of Salisbury and Ashley Christine Mallory of Galena; his step-mother, Caroline Sue Mallory of Berlin; his step-father, Robert L. Cannon of Hebron, his mother-in-law Dee Sines of Fruitland, MD; his brother, CW4 James Polk Mallory III and his wife, Hyon Chong of Stafford, VA; a sister, Maureen Elizabeth Hogg and her husband Lt. col. Steve Hogg of San Juan Capistrano, CA; a step-brother Michael Hickman and his wife Debbie of York, Pa; a brother-in-law Ernie McCann and wife Janet of Fruitland, MD; a niece, Mallory Hogg; six nephews, Michael Hogg, Joshua and Matthew Hickman, Christopher and Justin Mallory, and Scott McCann; two step-children, Jim Lake and Angela Lake, two step-grandchildren, Kaia and Kaiui Molin. Miles will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

As a child, Miles spent many happy summers visiting beloved grandparents in Vicksburg, MS. He was passionate about his family, friends, Harley Davidsons, his dogs Tucker and Gizmo, hunting, fishing, and the Eagles. He embraced life and enjoyed every day to the fullest. Miles will be remembered by all for his loving spirit and laughter.

A funeral service celebrating Miles life will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home on E. Main St. in Salisbury where family and friends may call from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Pastor Raymond B. Eggers will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Doris V. Brenegan

Mrs. Doris V. Brenegan, 78, of Seaford died on Monday, February 25, 2002 at Green Valley Pavilion, Smyrna, DE.

Mrs. Brenegan, a homemaker, was born in Wilmington, DE, on March 24, 1923, the daughter of the late James and Marion Bennett.

Mrs. Brenegan s husband, Donald W. Brenegan, died in 1998.

She is survived by her children, Rodger D. Brenegan of Middletown, Donna L. Jezyk of Twonsend and Jeffrey T. Brenegan of Pearlington, MS; 3 great grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held March 1 at the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, Minquadale, New Castle.

Interment followed in the adjoining memorial park.

Pauline H. Carson

Mrs. Pauline H. Carson, 83, of Port Penn, DE, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 26, 2002.

The former Pauline H. Yearsley, she returned with her daughter to her maternal home in Port Penn after the death of her husband, Captain William Dale Carson, in 1952. She was a charter member of the Port Penn Ladies Fire Auxiliary, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Penn, and enjoyed membership in many of the church and town organizations. Mrs. Carson was an Avon Representative for 40 years, retiring in late 2000.

She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Dale (Carson) wood, and her grandson, Jonathan T. Wood, on whom she doted, both of Delaware City. She will be dearly and forever missed.

A funeral service was held March 2 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton St., Delaware City. Interment was in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn Rd., Port Penn.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Port Penn, Port Penn, DE 19731.

Julian Merchant Carter

Julian M. Carter, 77, of Key Largo, Fla., died Sunday, December 23, 2001. Mr. Carter was born in Chestertown, Md. son of the late Norman and Jennie (Merchant) Carter.

He was a retired businessperson known for his sense of humor and extraordinary generosity.

He served his country in the navy during World War II and at the time of his death was the Commander of American Legion Post #333 in Key Largo.

He married Agnes Moyer in 1944. Following their divorce he moved to Miami, FL in 1953.

Mr. Carter is survived by one daughter, Susan Driggs, her husband Max and grandchildren James and Alyson Driggs, all of Richmond, CA. Niece and nephews Lila, Norman Jay, Frank and Norman, Jr., children of the late Norman Carter, Jr. survive him as well as nephews John Erickson of Newark, DE. And Wayne, Kenneth, and Ronald Erickson of West Bend, WI.

He leaves behind many dear friends including Marion D. Hall of Middletown, De. and Kelly and Bill Wilson of Key Largo. His counsel and humor will be sorely missed.

A full military memorial service was held Saturday, February 16, 2002 in Key Largo, FL.

Ronald Clark

Ronald H. Clark II, age 34 of Chesapeake City, MD and formerly of Newark, DE, went home to dwell in the house of the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2002.

Mr. Clark was an electronic technician for Kral Electronics. He also served in the United States Army. Mr. Clark enjoyed archery, hunting, camping, and crafting miniature houses. He also enjoyed visiting Colonial Williamsburg.

Mr. Clark is survived by his devoted wife of 10 years, Dorothy (Ferrell) Clark; beloved children, Salvatore D. Clark and Alexander G. Clark both of Newark, and Nicholas G. Clark of Chesapeake City, Md.; parents, Ronald H. and Beatrice Clark of Newark; sister, Wanda Woerner and her husband Joseph of Middletown; and in-laws, Thomas D. and Dorothy M. Ferrell of Newark. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his son, Curtis M. Clark; and grandmothers, Helen R. Clark and Margaret F. Fontello.

At Ronald s death, he was able to give the gift of life to others.

A funeral service was held March 6 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Pkwy., New Castle, De.

Myra Ingham

Mrs. Myra Ingham, age 76, of Newark, DE, died Thursday, February 26, 2002 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark. She was a much-loved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Ingham joined the administrative staff of the University of Delaware in 1965. She retired in 1986 as the assistant to the chairperson of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The daughter of the late Thomas Neil Younger and Wilhemina (Williams) Younger, Mrs. Ingham was born in Gafeshead-on-Tyne, England on February 18, 1926. She was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire and also a member of the American Embroiderer s Guild, Brandywine Chapter.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Norman Ingham; 2 children, Lesley Sparks, Middletown and Alison Chandler of Newark; and 4 grandchildren, Heather Brown, Michael Sparks, Brian Chandler and Jason Chandler.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2002 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.

James Thomas Jones

James Thomas Jones, 44, of San Diego, Ca., formerly of Crumpton, Md. and Smyrna, De., died on Thursday, February 28 after a short illness.

He was a veteran of the U.S. navy.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father, William E. Jones, in 1982.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Lee Jones, of Smyrna; 2 brothers, Bruce E. Jones, of Smyrna; and Lawrence B. Jones, of Kennedyville, Md.; 2 sisters, Patricia E. Cornelius, of Chestertown, Md.; and Kay Ann Jones, of Millington, Md.

Services and interment was private.

Arrangements were by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, Smyrna.

Mary Ann Kulakowski-Howell

Mary Ann Kulakowski-Howell, 82, of Millsboro, died Monday, February 25, 2002.

She was born in Chester, Pa., the daughter of Nicholas Kaminski and Frances Yarnshak. She formerly worked for Sun Ship Buildings in Chester and was presently the head housekeeper for The Plantations in Lewes, a resort community. She was a member of St. Hedwig s Catholic Church in Chester and Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Oak Orchard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Howell in 1996. She is survived by a son, Robert Kapin of Millsboro; 5 daughters, Donna M. Jarusinski, Kimberly Howell and Holly Howell, all of Millsboro, Lori Matthews of Havertown, Pa., and Bonnie Aube of Middletown; 13 grandchildren, Nicholas and Stefhan Gibson, Jimmy and Matthew Jarusinski, Brian and Christopher Aube, Robert, Patrick, and Jonathon Karpin, Emily Seymour, David Rosatl, and Grace and Joseph Matthews; 1 great grandson, Patrick Karpin-Bunting; and a godchild, Katrina Tucker.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered February 28 at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Rt. 24 near Oak Orchard. Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Beebe Medical Center, Cardiac Care Unit, c/o Beebe Medical Foundation, 902 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958.

Arrangements were by Melson Funeral Services of Long Neck.

Jacqueline M. Patille

Jacqueline M. Patille of Smyrna, DE died at home Saturday, March 2, 2002. She was 56.

Mrs. Patille was born June 16, 1945 in Newark, DE, the daughter of the late Norris and Elizabeth Dunn See. She was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Smyrna.

She is survived by her husband, Charles J. Patille, Sr.; 2 sons, John T. and Charles J. Patille Jr., both of Smyrna, DE; 3 daughters, May A. Patille of Wilmington, DE, Christine M. Patille of Dover, DE and Julia E. Patille at home; 4 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Diane See, Vivian Wilson and Ellen See all of Newark, DE, Deborah See of New Castle, DE; 4 brothers, John See of Wilmington, DE, Dennis See of Newark, DE, H. Norris See of Townsend, DE and James See of WV.

A service was held March 7 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Clark Farm Rd. and Massey Church Rd., Smyrna, DE. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna, DE.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.

Arrangements were by Faries Funeral Directors, Inc., 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE.

Robert Charles RC Smith

Robert Charles RC Smith, 60, of Townsend, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26th in the Christiana Hospital.

Mr. Smith was employed at Johnson Controls in Middletown for 29 years. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and served with the 82nd Airborne. He was also a past president of the Middletown Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sheila C. Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Barry R. and Donna L. Smith of Bear; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and t. Scott Unruh of Camden, DE and Rebecca Smith and John Appleton of Harrington; 4 grandchildren, Brittney, Jacob, Joshua, and Cooper; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey W. and Margaret Smith of Miami Beach, FL.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 2 in St. Joseph s Catholic Church, W. Cochran St., Middletown. Funeral services were held at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown. Burial was in Townsend Cemetery.

The family suggests contributions to the Middletown Lions Club, c/o Mr. James W. Beattie, 101 E. Park Place, Middletown, DE 19709.

Grace T. Valentine

Grace T. Valentine, 89, formerly of Woodcrest, passed away Monday, February 25, 2002.

She was born in Wilmington on February 3, 1913. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Her husband of 51 years, Francis W. Valentine, died in 1985.

She is survived by her son, William W. Valentine and his wife Joan of Newark, who helped with her care; and her daughter, Nancy V. Sandukas and her husband Theodos of Newark, with whom she lived for 5 years. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Laureen M. Valentine of Newark, Marsha L. Mazzola and her husband Antonio, jr. of Middletown, Melanie A. Sandukas of Richmond, VA and Gregory P. Sandukas of Cambridge, MA; and 2 great grandsons, Anthony and Dominic Mazzola.

The funeral service was held at March 2, 2002 at the McCrery Memorial Chapel, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy. At Duncan Rd. Burial was in Silverbrook Cemetery.
