DOVER - Nancy L. Floyd of Dover died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in Bay Health Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 52.
Mrs. Floyd was born Feb. 25, 1950, in Easton, Md., daughter of Eloise (Hastings) Wheedleton of Trappe, Md., and the late James B. Wheedleton.
She graduated from Colneral Richardson High School in Maryland in 1968.
Mrs. Floyd was the store bookkeeper at Super Fresh Food Stores in Dover for the past 16 years.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 33 years, Herb Floyd of Dover; a daughter, Teresa Floyd of Dover; a son, Chris E. Floyd of Dover; a brother, Donald English of Trappe; three sisters, Gail Smith of Fort Myers, Fla., Diane Fairbanks of Preston, Md., and Brenda Little of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Trader Funeral Home, Dover.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park Dover.

Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. John H. Harling, 59
FELTON - Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. John H. Harling of Felton died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in Christina Hospital, Wilmington. He was 59.
Mr. Harling was born Dec. 15, 1942, in Baltimore, son of Rita Lutz Harling and the late Jack Harling.
He was a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel. His passion was flying.
He continued to work as a pilot with Jet Aviation in New Jersey.
Mr. Harling was a member of Ducks Unlimited, and an avid train collector.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son and his wife, Ford R. and Trish C. Harling of Wilmington; a daughter, Keri Harling of Seattle, Wash.; a brother and his wife, Michael W. and Lynn K. Harling of Dallas, Texas; and a nephew, Grant Harling of Dallas.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be private in Barrett's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
The family request that memorial contributions be given to Leukemia Society, 100 W. 10th St., Suite 209 Wilmington, DE 19801, and/or to Cancer Care Connection, Delaware Technology Park, 3 Innovation Way, Suite 210, Newark, DE 19711.

Steven Foster Hovermale, 44
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Steven Foster Hovermale of Hagerstown died while on a camping trip Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002. He was 44.
Mr. Hovermale was born in Hagerstown, son of Rebecca Miller Hovermale and the late Harold J. Hovermale.
He worked as an aircraft mechanic for many years.
Mr. Hovermale enjoyed motorcycles.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancée, Joy Davis of Milton, Del.; and a nephew, Ian Taber of Hagerstown.
Services will be 7 p.m. today in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Marion Lorraine McCanna Hull, 85
SMYRNA - Marion Lorraine McCanna Hull of Smyrna died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 85.
Mrs. Hull was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Rochester, N.Y., daughter of the late Alta Skaggs.
She moved to Bradford, Pa., and worked at Bradford Hospital in patient-care services.
Mrs. Hull moved to Delaware in 1954, where she and her husband raised three sons, Charles Simons, James "Jimmy" Hull and Jerry Hull.
She enjoyed country music, the Grand Ole Opera, cooking, knitting, crocheting and laughter.
Mrs. Hull had a good sense of humor, as evidenced by her raising three boys.
She loved to watch people and believed she was the "first" true neighborhood watch.
Mrs. Hull always made holidays special, with lots of good food and lots of love.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garold P. Hull, Aug. 31, 2001; and a son, James D. Hull, in 1992.
She is survived by her loving companion, a tiny Chihuahua named Santana; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles G. Simons of Troutville, Va., and Jerry and Jane Hull of Clayton; six grandchildren, Jocelyn D. Queen and Gregory S. Hull, both of Frederica, Rhonda M. Palmer of Milford, Bobby Simons of Sulfur Springs, Texas, Renae Tubb of Dike, Texas, and Jay Simons of Paris, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Emily Kelley of Hamburg, Ark., and Eddie Wingard Jr. of Pine Bluff, Ark.; three great-grandchildren, Savannah, Nicholas and Alex; and three step-great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lanie and Dylon; and a cousin, Robert McCanna of Bradford, Pa.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery Smyrna.

Dorothy May Jones, 76
CLAYTON - Dorothy May Jones of Clayton died Sunday Nov. 3, 2002, in her home. She was 76.
Mrs. Jones was born May 13, 1926, near Leipsic, daughter of the late Alfred and Beulah Graham Jones.
She worked as a clerk for Silco in Smyrna for several years before retirement.
She was a loving wife and caregiver for her father.
Mrs. Jones had formerly attended Ewell's St. Paul United Methodist Church in Clayton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Jones, in 1985.
She is survived by two sons, Jay Jones and R. Paul Jones, both of Smyrna; and a loving friend, Juanita.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna.

Patricia Ann McMillan, 66
CLAYTON - Patricia Ann McMillan of Clayton died peacefully Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, in her home. She was 66.
Mrs. McMillan was born April 2, 1936, in West Chester, Pa., daughter of Ethel L. Werner of Florida and the late Delmar P. Janes.
She was an avid NASCAR fan.
Mrs. McMillan was a member of the Women of the Moose.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Phyllis A. Dickerson.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Gregory R. Duffin and Brian P. McMillan, both of Smyrna; her special caregiver, Debbie Virdin Dunning of Smyrna; two grandsons, Jason Cahall and Travis Cahall; a great-granddaughter, Kayla; and her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Doley Janes of Florida.
Services and burial will be private.

Lisa Ann Myers, 37
HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Lisa Ann Myers of Huntsville died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, in her home. She was 37.
Miss Myers was born Jan. 23, 1965, in Wichita Falls, Texas, daughter of the late Geraldine Burris.
She attended school in Texas and Wyoming.
Miss Myers worked at Huntsville Wholesale.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Verna and Claude Stroud; a sister, Patricia Ann Myers; and an aunt, Ruth Owens.
She is survived by her grandparents, Orville and Helen Breazeale of Cheyenne; two brothers, Glen Allen "Buddy" Myers of Cheyenne and Russell Wayne Myers of Huntsville; four aunts, Charlene Sangrey of Dover, Del., Martha Smith of Cheyenne, Gladys Smith of Casper, Wyo., and June Sheppard of Washington, Kan.; three uncles, Arthur Breazeale of Chappell, Neb., Lawrence Breazeale of Houston and Fracis Breazeale of Corsicana, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, in Faith United Methodist Church, 6th Street and Maxwell. The Rev. Delbert Hansen, pastor, officiated.

Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Frank Celio, 74
DOVER - Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Frank Celio of Dover died Monday, May 19, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 74.
Mr. Celio was born in New Haven, Conn., son of the late Dominic and Trofimena Celia.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 until 1970, at which time he retired, at the rank of master sergeant, as a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. While stationed at Dover Air Force Base, he and his family had moved to Dover in 1958.
Mr. Celio, in the mid-1970s, had served as a correctional officer with the state of Delaware, retiring in 1982.
After his total retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spent a good bit of time fishing.
Mr. Celio was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover, and was a longtime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nicholina, in 1984; and a son, Frank Celio, in 1993.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Georgules of Dover; two sons and a daughter-in-law, the Rev. Victor F.A. Celio of Houston, Texas, and Dominic and Donna Celio of Dover; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South State Street, Dover.
Burial with military honors will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.

Donald Eugene Gibble, 53
MILFORD - Donald Eugene Gibble of Milford died of natural causes Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 53.
Mr. Gibble was born Feb. 28, 1950, in Lancaster, Pa.
He worked for many years in fast-food management until declining health left him unable to do so.
He enjoyed camping, old-time gospel music and watching the grandchildren play ball. As a youth, he was very athletic and was a wrestler in his high school.
Mr. Gibble was a member of Kent Christian Center in Dover. He was a children's Sunday school teacher, and he had a special love for his class.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Durella Lavy Gibble; his father, Harry G. Gibble of Lancaster; his mother, Mary Lively of Rising Sun, Md.; two stepchildren, Nathan Jones of Sterling, Va., and Stefanie Jones of Greenwood; three step-grandchildren, Dustin Jones and Kasey Jones of Greenwood and Megan Jones of Milford; a brother, Dan Gibble of Mount Morris, Ill.; two sisters, Darlene Brack of Rising Sun and Judy Rosenberry of Mercersburg, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Kent Christian Center in Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation, 325 Chestnut St., Suite 725, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Clarence 'Shike' Fountain, 70
HARTLY - Clarence "Shike" Fountain of Hartly died of heart failure Sunday, May 18, 2003, in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 70.
Mr. Fountain was born June 8, 1932, in Hartly, son of the late Leroy and Louise Fountain.
He was in the Air Force for four years.
Mr. Fountain was a laborer.
He is survived by three brothers, Robert Fountain, Thomas Fountain of Hartly and Edward Fountain of Smyrna; and two sisters, Blanche Wisher of Hartly and Betty Wisher of Smyrna.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Emanuel AME Church, Hartly, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Luther Walker will officiate.
Burial will be in Lockwood Cemetery, Hartly.

Mabel Bryant Joseph, 98
SMYRNA - Mabel Bryant Joseph of Smyrna died, after a short illness, Monday, May 19, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 98.
Mrs. Joseph was born in Waverly, Va., daughter of the late John and Minnie Carpenter Bryant.
She started her teaching career in one-room schools in the 1920s. She served a total of 27 years in Delaware schools, most of which was spent at Smyrna Elementary School. She retired in 1972.
Mrs. Joseph often said that she was the luckiest mom, grandmom and great-grandmom that ever lived.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ebe L. Joseph Sr.; a sister, Marian B. Doughten; and a brother, John Wayne Bryant.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ebe L. Joseph Jr. and Mary Lou Joseph of Smyrna and John Wayne and Diane Joseph of Murphy, N.C.; six grandchildren and the respective spouses of four, Karen J. and John Burke, Kelley J. and Robert Willoughby, Kathi J. and Ray Moxley, Richard W. Joseph, Roland E. Serman and Jeffrey A. and Juleen Joseph; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna.

Emma M. Lord, 81
RIDGELY, Md. - Emma M. Lord of Ridgely died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in her home. She was 81.
Mrs. Lord was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Greensboro, daughter of the late Chester Arthur and Florence Gertrude (Warren) Hutson. She was a lifetime resident of this area.
She graduated from Greensboro High School, class of 1938, and Wilmington General Hospital, class of 1943.
She was a registered nurse and worked for Memorial Hospital of Easton, Caroline Nursing Home, Denton, and House of the Pines in Easton, retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Lord was a member of VFW Greensboro Post 7937 Ladies Auxiliary and Harrington Moose Lodge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weaver Kenneth Lord, on Jan. 23, 2002.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., Greensboro.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely.

Mary Elizabeth Orr, 60
BOWERS BEACH - Mary Elizabeth Orr of Bowers Beach died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in her home. She was 60.
Mrs. Orr was born Feb. 5, 1943, to the late Harry Clark and Mary Elizabeth Hallesy Clark. She moved from Massachusetts to Delaware in 1986.
She began working as a waitress for the Landing Club, Dover Air Force Base, in 1986, and retired in Febuary 2003.
Mrs. Orr was very popular with many groups at the club, who would specifically ask for her.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Richard Orr; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Matthew and Frankie Jones and Mark Jones, all of Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kim and Gary Odoardi of Sterling, Mass., Kirsten and James Sukach of Newport News, Va., and Katy Orr of Bowers Beach; and a granddaughter, Lia Odoardi.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Dover Air Force Base Chapel 2.
Burial will be Saturday in St. Mary's Cemetery, Randolph, Mass.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.

Julian Thomas Robinson, 82
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Julian Thomas Robinson of Tolchester, Chestertown, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore. He was 82.
Mr. Robinson was born July 19, 1920, in Still Pond, son of the late Ernest and Sarah Newcomb Robinson.
He was a 1938 graduate of Chestertown High School and, in 1943, married Virginia Ethel Kuhn.
In August 1944, Mr. Robinson enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater, and was honorably discharged in April 1946.
Returning to Maryland, he took a job as a Baltimore city police officer in 1948 and worked until retirement.
Upon his retirement, Mr. Robinson and his wife moved to Tolchester, near Chestertown. On Oct. 31, 1999, his wife of 56 years preceded him in death.
He enjoyed amateur-radio operation.
Mr. Robinson was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was active in the Tolchester Community Association.
In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Constantino, in 1998.
He is survived by a son, Robert Robinson of Baltimore; a brother, Ernest Robinson of Baltimore; a sister, Betty Kerr of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Michael Constantino and Angela Constantino, both of Baltimore, and Donna Boone of Rising Sun; and three great-grandchildren, Ashley Boone, Jessica Boone and Jonathon Boone.
Friends and relatives may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Burial will be private.

Joseph Anthony 'Schulke' Thomas, 46
SMYRNA - Joseph Anthony "Schulke" Thomas of Smyrna died of complications of cancer Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Christiana Hospital of Christiana Care, Newark. He was 46.
Mr. Thomas was a masonry-construction worker for Tony Peace Masonry.
He is survived by a daughter, Christina Colatriano of Middletown; two sons, Raymond Colatriano of New Castle and Joseph Paul Thomas of North Carolina; two stepdaughters, Jodi Colatriano and Suzanne Colatriano, both of North Carolina; a brother, Walter Schulke; three sisters, Mary, Vivian and Theresa; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be noon Saturday in Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private.

Robert H. Thompson, 77
LEWES - Robert H. Thompson of Lewes died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was 77.
Mr. Thompson was born in Martin City, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He moved to Lewes more than 20 years ago. Those who knew and loved him will forever cherish his memory.
Mr. Thompson was a member of American Legion Post 0017 and of Jefferson Masonic Lodge 15, A.F.&A.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoy and Dorothy Lucille "Celie" Thompson; and a brother, Hoy Thompson Jr.
He is survived by a loving daughter, Tamara Walker of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Molly Ann Hughes of Allen, Kan., and Mira Jane "Torchy" Duncan of Emporia, Kan.; a granddaughter, Jenna Lou Walker of Emporia; a great-grandson, Dylan Matthew Walker; his longtime companion, Elizabeth; a devoted friend, Drew; and numerous friends throughout the Lewes area.
Celebration of Robert's life will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in Second Street Grill in Lewes.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Jefferson Masonic Lodge 15, A.F.&A.M.; or to a charity of choice.
