Frank B.J. Davidowski, 73
LEWES - Frank B.J. Davidowski of Lewes formerly of Pennside, Pa., died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in Berkshire Manor, Exeter, Pa. He was 73.
Mr. Davidowski was born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., son of the late Francis B.J. Davidowski and Cecella (Warminski) Davidowski.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a supervisor for AT&T in Reading, Pa., retiring in 1987 after 28 years of service.
Mr. Davidowski was a member of St. Edmunds Roman Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach, VFW Post 7447 of Rehoboth Beach, American Legion Post 28 of Oak Orchard-Riverdale, and was the chaplain of Kotties (Korean War Vets) of Delaware.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Marenko Davidowski, in 1997; and a grandchild, Cerise A. Davidowski.
He is survived by two sons, Frank J. Davidowski of Hatfield, Pa., and Mark Davidowski of Birdsboro, Pa.; a daughter, Juliann Davidowski of Riverview, Pa.; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-granddaughters.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Edmunds Roman Catholic church in Rehoboth Beach, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery South in Millsboro.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to American Legion Post 28 of Oak-Orchard Riverdale, RR 10 Box 494-A, Millsboro, DE 19958; or VFW Post 7447, State Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

Charlotte L. Porter, 65
HARRINGTON - Charlotte L. Porter of Harrington died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 65.
Mrs. Porter was born in Clayton, daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Willey) Jones.
She was secretary-treasurer of Porter Sand & Gravel Inc. She worked beside her husband, often going on the truck to the various job sites.
She liked to collect Barbie dolls and Dickenson Village houses. She also loved working with ceramics. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Mrs. Porter was a member of Harrington Ladies of the Moose 1229. She also belonged to the Harrington Senior Center.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Porter Jr.; two sons, Donald R. Porter of Harrington and Roland Draper of Greenwood; two daughters, Diane M. Porter of Felton and Charlotte Ann Draper of Greenwood; two sisters, Katherine Maule of Chestertown, Md., and Margaret Hoffman of Florida; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Tim Isley will officiate.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

Grace (Willey) Redlus, 79
DOVER - Grace (Willey) Redlus of Dover died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in Capitol Health Care, Dover. She was 79.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert; and her brother, Norman Willey.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn and Stanley Kraftsow and Jill Redlus Landing; a son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Lisa Redlus; two brothers, Sam and William Willey; five sisters, Ruth Sweetman, Rena Peters, Mary Scott, Kathleen Cain and Bonnie Collins; a brother-in-law, Jack Redlus; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Marion and John Carroll and Evelyn and Saul Sitzer; seven grandchildren, Eric Craftsow, Randy Lipkin, Mark, Amy and Michael Graham, and Ashley and Rachel Redlus; and two great-grandchildren, Cory and Sloane Kraftsow.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today in the Jewish Community Cemetery, Faulk Road, Wilmington.
The family respectfully request contributions be made in her memory to the Parkinson's charity of your choice.

Martin L. 'Bud' Storey, 75
MAGNOLIA - Martin L. "Bud" Storey of Magnolia died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 75.
Mr. Storey was born in 1927 in Camden, son of Volita Storey of Milford and the late Martin I. Storey. He was a lifelong resident of the area.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He worked as a truck driver for International Playtex, Inc., retiring in 1990.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Michelle Storey of Ocean, N.J.; a sister, Patricia Denney of Magnolia; and two grandsons, Martin Storey of Felton and Ryan Storey of Ocean.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 East Lebanon Road, Dover.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

Thelma Tribbett Waski, 61
DOVER - Thelma Tribbett Waski of Dover died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 61.
Mrs. Waski was born May 1, 1941, in Greensboro, Md., daughter of Martha Dill Tribbett of Dover and the late Earl Tribbett. She had lived in the Dover area since 1955, coming from Greensboro.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Waski was a member of the Del Rods.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Charles Waski of Pearsons Corner; two sons, C. Wayne Waski, and his wife, Diane, of Camden, and Joseph A. Waski, and his wife, Tammy, of Dover; a daughter, Tina M. Shockley, and her husband, Tim, of Greenwood; a brother, Wayne Tribbett of Greensboro; a sister, Faye Jolly of Camden; her grandchildren, Jessica, Britney and Samantha Waski and Lindsay Shockley; and step-grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Hill.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.

Towana Michelle Thompson Maness, 28
SALISBURY, Md. - Towana Michelle Thompson Maness of Salisbury died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002. She was 28.
Mrs. Maness was born May 31, 1974, in Seaford, Del., daughter of James Clifton Savage and Marian Cecelia Thompson of Seaford.
She received her education in the Seaford School District.
Mrs. Maness was affectionately known by her family and friends as "Tyne" and "Wanna." She was a devoted mother and daughter, and always had a smile. She was a special mother and friend to her children and everyone she came into contact with. She loved to shop, and the people in the mall knew her by her first name.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her four children, Tianna, Barry, Brandon and Ta'janea; four brothers, James Clifton Thompson Jr. of Seaford, Corey Lamont Thompson, Adrian Jerome Thompson and Deshawn Johnson of Dover, Del.; three sisters, Tara Lynn Thompson, Tamara Denise Thompson and Dominique Deveraul Thompson, all of Salisbury; six nephews; two nieces, one of whom, Kennedy, she was raising as her own; a special cousin, Sonya; maternal grandmother Adeline Thompson of Bridgeville, Del.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Front Street, Seaford.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Lord Church of Deliverance in Georgetown, Del.
Burial will be in Middleford Cemetery, Seaford.

Raymond Lee Moran, 39
FLORIDA - Raymond Lee Moran of Florida died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002. He was 39.
Mr. Moran was born May 5, 1963, in Baltimore, son of Armand Joseph and Doris Kraft Moran of Ridgely, Md.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Moran worked as a taxi driver.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Ashleigh Wilson of Federalsburg, Md.; a brother, Armand Morin III of Baltimore; two sisters, Karen Phillips of Greensboro, Md. and Cheryl Walsch of Federalsburg; and two grandmothers, Florida Morin and Carrie Kraft, both of Baltimore.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., Greensboro.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Eastern Shore Veteran Cemetery, Hurlock, Md.

Nettie C. Melvin, 87
DOVER - Nettie C. Melvin, of Dover died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, in her home. She was 87.
Mrs. Melvin was born June 22, 1912, in Goldsboro, Md., the daughter of the late George and Mary Stubbs Seward.
She loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family.
Mrs. Melvin was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Dover.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert Alvah Melvin; a granddaughter, Sheron Renee Melvin; two sons-in-law, Rev. Wilbur Vergess and H. Edward Reed; and a daughter-in-law, A. Margaret Melvin.
She is survived by a son, George Melvin, of Harrington; three daughters, Barbara Savage, of Dover, Dottie Reed Mervine, of Felton, and Mary Ann Collins of Harrington; three sons-in-law, Clarence Savage, of Dover, Paul H. Mervine, of Felton, and A. James Collins, of Harrington; five grandchildren, George Melvin of Lenoir, N.C., Dale Melvin, of Milford, Carolyn Becker, of Mooresville, N.C., Mark Collins, of Dover, and Dawn Collins, of Milford; and four great-grandchildren, Julia Welcome, of Lenoir, Lindsay Melvin, of Milford, Krystal Melvin, of Milford, and Biaise Becker,, of Mooresville.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Wesleyan Church, Dover, where the Rev. D. Dennis will officiate.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover.
Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro, Md.

Jean Elaine Morris, 55
SELBYVILLE - Jean Elaine Morris, of Selbyville, died Monday, May 15, 2000, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 55.
Mrs. Morris was born in Eastville, Va., the daughter of the late Grover Fields and Clodie Owens.
She worked as a domestic in the beach area for many years.
Mrs. Morris was a member of the St. John's 2nd Baptist Church near Millsboro.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Edward Lee Morris; a son, Burnett Baines, and his wife, Goldie, of Melfa, Va.; a daughter, Annette Fields, at home; two stepsons, Edward Mumford, of Seaford, and Evans Mumford, of Bishopville, Md.; a stepdaughter, Evangalene Mumford, of Ocean City, Md.; three sisters, Fannie Smart, of Dagsboro, Lula Mae Fields and Carolyn Bracy, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Courtney Fields, Edward Collick, Shanience Mumford and Dean Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the St. John's 2nd Baptist Church, Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, where the Rev. Annie Jane Custis will officiate, and where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Leslie W. 'Les' Jones Sr., 42
DOVER - Leslie W. ''Les'' Jones Sr. of Dover died of kidney failure Tuesday, May 26, 1998, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 42.
Mr. Jones was born in 1955 in Sharon Hill, Pa., the son of the Rev. Levi and Pastor Louella Jones.
He was a custodial worker.
Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Army for eight years and in the Army Reserve.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela M. Jones; a son, Leslie W. Jones Jr. of Dover; a daughter, Ericka Y. Jones of Dover; stepdaughters, Mrs. Shannon S. Earle, Shawon D. Griffin and Rasheda O. Sherman, all of Smyrna; four brothers, Levi W. Jones Jr. of Hawaii, Leo W. Jones of Magnolia, Lester W. Jones of New Castle, Ind., Lemot W. Jones of Bear; nine grandchildren; a godsister, Lisa Hastings of Philadelphia; a mother-in-law, Jessie Moore; three sons-in-law; four godsons; 13 sisters-in-laws; and 14 brothers-in-law.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, Del. 8, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. The Rev. Steve Wellman will officiate.
Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park.

Howard Dean Chant, 63
DOVER - Howard Dean Chant of Dover, and formerly of New Jersey, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, in the Capitol Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dover. He was 63.
Mr. Chant was born in 1934 in Burlington, N.J., the son of the late Howard W. and Ruth Chant.
He was a heating and air conditioning serviceman. He worked for many different local companies, retiring in 1996.
He is survived by two children, Dean Howard Chant of Philadelphia and Sharon Vilone of Marydel; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Service will be private.

Myrtle M. Mumford, 80
MILLSBORO - Myrtle M. Mumford of near Millsboro died of respiratory failure Wednesday, May 27, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 80.
Mrs. Mumford was born in Frankford, the daughter of the late Walter and Carrie Mitchell Lowe.
She owned and operated, with her husband, Mumford's Store, near Millsboro, for 43 years until 1996.
Mrs. Mumford was a member of Carty's United Methodist Church, near Millsboro, and a member of the Delaware Council No. 1, Daughters of the O.U.A.M.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold B. Mumford of Millsboro; a son, Marshall Mumford of Millsboro; a daughter, Darleen Cropper of Dagsboro; a brother, Norwood Lowe of Millsboro; a sister, Madilyn Mitchell of Frankford; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. The Rev. Ted Elser will officiate.
Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro.

Mary T. Everett, 88
BARCLAY, Md. - Mary T. Everett of Barclay, and formerly of Chesterville, died of heart failure Wednesday, May 27, 1998, in the Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. She was 88.
Mrs. Everett was born near Sudlersville, the daughter of the late Spencer and Lena Truitt.
She was a homemaker, and worked on the farm with her husband and family for most of her life.
She loved to read poetry and was a wonderful cook.
Mrs. Everett was a member of the Marvin Memorial United Methodist Church, Barclay, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was former member of the Chesterville homemakers, the Chesterville Planning Group and the Kent County Farm Bureau.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Newell B. Everett, in 1987; a brother, John S. Truitt, in 1998; and a granddaughter, Melissa Lee Everett, in 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, June Cook of Chesterville and Joyce McKinnon of Barclay; three sons, George Lewis Everett of Chesterville, Newell B. Everett of Gainesville, Va., and Spencer W. Everett of Sudlersville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 307 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville

Vernon R. Nichols, 87
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Vernon R. Nichols of Ormond Beach died of heart failure Monday, May 25, 1998, in Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach. He was 87.
Mr. Nichols was born in 1910 in Federalsburg, Md., the son of the late Oscar and Lydia Patton Nichols.
He attended school in Federalsburg and went to college at Wesley Junior College (now Wesley College), Dover, Del., where he graduated in the class of 1930.
He was a policeman for the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia, and retired in 1960.
Mr. Nichols was a member of the Retired Police of Washington, D.C., Florida Group; a member of the Fraternal Order of Police; a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Ormond Beach; and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne Corkill, in 1962.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Louise Mannolini of Ormond Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Williamson Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Federalsburg, where friends may call one our prior to the service. The Rev. Kari K. Jones will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John's United Methodist Church, Seaford, Del.

Nelson Scuse, 84
WYOMING - Nelson Scuse of Wyoming died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, in Courtland Manor Nursing Home, Dover. He was 84.
Mr. Scuse was the son of the late George and Elnora Scuse.
Mr. Scuse was a farmer for over 50 years in the Kent County area.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Lurty Scuse of Wyoming.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Townsend Cemetery, Townsend.

Charles O. 'Tip' Bradley, 81
MILFORD - Charles O. ''Tip'' Bradley of Milford died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. He was 81.
Mr. Bradley was a carpenter for Downing Engineers for several years.
He was an honorary member of the Broadkill Sportsmen Club.
He was preceded in death by a son, Francis Bradley, in 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hannah Conaway Bradley; a daughter, Brenda Stanton of Milford; a son, Vernon Bradley of Lincoln; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

Johnny Ervin Maddox Jr., newborn
SEAFORD - Johnny Ervin Maddox Jr. of Seaford died of heart failure Sunday, May 24, 1998, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He was a newborn.
Johnny was born May 24, 1998, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Johnny E. Maddox and Tara Lawson of Seaford; a sister, Taylor Lawson of Seaford; his maternal grandmother, Mary Lawson of Millsboro; his paternal grandfather, Charles Maddox of Millsboro; and his godparents, Sherri Morris and Raymond Morris of Seaford.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Young's Funeral Home, Seaford.
Burial will be in Macedonia A.M.E. Church Cemetery.
