EASTON, Md. - Jennifer Joan Mills of Easton died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, in Easton Memorial Hospital, Easton. She was 58.
Mrs. Mills was born March 14, 1944.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Union Baptist Church, Glenwood Avenue, Easton, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Richards Cemetery, Easton.
Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Easton.

Catherine S. Sproul, 91
BRIDGEVILLE - Catherine S. Sproul of Bridgeville died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, in her home. She was 91.
Mrs. Sproul was born in Seaford, daughter of the late James R. and Mary Eskridge.
She worked as a line worker for Richardson Robins Canning Factory, later known as Underwood Meat Packing Plant in Dover, for 10 years, retiring in 1965.
She loved to do needlepoint and sewing for family and friends. She always enjoyed her family and the grandchildren visiting.
Mrs. Sproul was a member of the Modern Maturity Center in Dover as well as the Laurel Adult Day Care.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in April 1986; and a grandson, Howard Franklin "Frankie" Jefferson.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sue and Erving Jefferson of Bridgeville, with whom she lived, and Nancy Johnson of Dover; seven grandchildren, Robert Bitler, Larry Jester, Catherine Smoot, Kenneth Jester, Jeff Jefferson, Carol Johnson and Laurie Miller; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

James Patrick 'Pat' O'Ferrall, 65
MARYDEL, Md. - James Patrick "Pat" O'Ferrall, of Marydel, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, Del. He was 65.
Mr. O'Ferrall was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Cambridge, Md., son of Elsie Virginia O'Ferrall of Arizona and the late James O'Ferrall.
He attended school to the eighth grade in Trappe. A voracious reader, he was self-educated through literature.
Mr. O'Ferrall was a mechanic, specifically working on trucks.
He hosted many bluegrass shows as master of ceremonies. He was a great lover of bluegrass music. He was easily recognized by his trademark black derby hat, which he wore proudly.
Mr. O'Ferrall was a life member of the Eastern Shore Bluegrass Association.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a special friend, Beverly Clough of Marydel; a son, Shane O'Ferrall of Tennessee; three sisters, Lois Baker of Trappe, Betty Ann Hood of Lampass, Texas, and Sharon Kay Miller of Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers, Robert L. O'Ferrall Sr. of Tulsa, Okla., Michael Dennis O'Ferrall of Marydel, Del., and William H. "Bill" O'Ferrall of San Angelo, Texas; two grandchildren, Daly O'Ferrall and Kerrie O'Ferrall, both of Tennessee; three stepdaughters, Bonnie Clough of Barclay, Lori Clough of Wye Mills and Penny Reel of Centreville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Magnolia Hall Nursing Center, 200 Morgnec Road, Chestertown, MD 21620.

Calvin James Braxton, 68
DOVER - Calvin James Braxton died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Wilmington, near Elsmere. He was 68.
Mr. Braxton was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Connellsville, Pa., son of the late Lucille and Moses Braxton.
He grew up with his only sibling, Gwendolyn Braxton. During his childhood, he resided in Connellsville, a small town outside Pittsburgh, and graduated from Dunbar Township High School.
Following graduation, Mr. Braxton joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956, and served until retiring in 1976. During his term of service, he was stationed at various foreign and domestic installations. He had a long and distinguished career in the Air Force as a personnel specialist and was selected to work for NATO in Belgium.
While in the service, he demonstrated his outstanding athleticism in football, basketball and baseball. While in Europe, he was selected to the U.S. Air Force in Europe Football Team. Later, he was selected by the Baltimore Colts but he declined the offer. Among his many honors and awards were the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and the Air Force Longevity Metal with four Oak Leaf Clusters.
Mr. Braxton settled in Washington, D.C., after leaving military service, remaining there until health problems necessitated a move to Delaware. He worked for The Washington Post until his retirement in 1990.
Through the years, he was an avid Washington Redskins fan, and he made others aware of that fact without hesitation. Bowling, cooking, fishing, traveling and helping others were among the other passions in his life.
Mr. Braxton became a faithful member of the Chapel of St. Phillip in 1995. He served as a member of various committees, including the Building and Grounds Committee and the Men's Group. He also valued his membership in several social and civic organizations. Among these were the Prince Hall Masons and the Social Twenty Inc. He served as the vice president and secretary for the Social Twenty, an organization that provided social activities and financial aid throughout the metropolitan Washington area. Foremost among his passions was the Combined Military Retirees' Association, established in 1976 as a nonprofit organization for humanitarian, civic and social purposes. The CMRA provided an opportunity for him to render services while pursuing his dreams. As president, one of his dreams was to create a ladies' auxiliary known as CMRAYs. His love for the CMRA was boundless.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved sister.
He is survived by an aunt, Addie Lee Oliver of New York City; five cousins and the husband of one, Gloria and Benjamin A. Glascoe and Isaac Fant, all of New York City, Eunice Bennett Pierce of Hollis, N.Y., Morris Fant of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lee Alexander Wright of New Carrollton, Md.; a dear friend, Mariko Tapper-Taylor and Ms. Tapper-Taylor's son, Terrell Carter, both of Dover; and a host of friends in Connellsville, Trotter, Pa., Washington, D.C. and Dover.
Services will be noon Thursday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St. (Del. 8), Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Joan Neilson Carroll, 77
REHOBOTH BEACH - Joan Neilson Carroll died, after a long illness, Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, surrounded by her six surviving children. She was 77.
Mrs. Carroll was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Philadelphia.
Since 1980, she had been a resident of Rehoboth Beach.
Mrs. Carroll served as a guide at the Winterthur Museum, Library and Gardens north of Wilmington and more recently served as docent at the Rehoboth Art League in Henlopen Acres. She also was an active member of the Henlopen Acres Beach Club.
She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher T. Carroll, July 12, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Carroll of Middleburg, Va.; six children, Margaret Carroll Eldridge of San Diego, Cornelius X. Carroll of St. Simons Island, Ga., Michael M. Carroll of Glenview, Ill., Joann Carroll Linden of Reston, Va., Thomas J. Carroll Jr. of Middleburg and Moira M. Carroll of Chicago; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. today in St. Edmond's Catholic Church, Rehoboth Beach.

Mary M. Wine Cool, 94
DOVER - Mary M. Wine Cool of Dover died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, in Capitol Nursing Home, Dover. She was 94.
Mrs. Cool was born in Union Bridge, Md., daughter of the late Elder William M. and Tillie Blough Wine.
She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1925 and Bridgewater College, Va. in 1930.
Mrs. Cool was a teacher in Federalsburg, Md. and Bridgeville and retired from the Caesar Rodney Special School District in 1976. She had been the librarian for 26 years and in 1974 was elected Librarian of the Year by the Delaware School Librarian Association.
Her hobbies included playing cards. She was an avid reader and did needlework. She had cross-stitched 50 quilts, which are in homes of family and friends from New Hampshire to California.
Mrs. Cool was an active member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, serving as a Sunday School teacher and on various boards and committees of the church.
Mrs. Cool was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 15, a life member of Wyoming Camden Round Table Club, charter member of Zeta Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma, and Delaware retired school personnel.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest M. Cool in 1973.
She is survived by a daughter, Dottie Lou Alty of Dover with whom she made her home; and a son and daughter-in-law, Donald L. and Kitty Cool of Georgia; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Norma Lee Cool of Wyoming and Esther Cool of California; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal caregiver, Doris Shockley.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 N. Main St., Camden, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the video fund of Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 N. Main Street, Camden, DE 19934.

William Roby Cornelius Jr., 67
ROCK HALL, Md. - William Roby Cornelius Jr. of Rock Hall died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, in his home. He was 67.
Mr. Cornelius was a lifetime resident of Rock Hall. He was born Nov. 21, 1935, son of Rose Elma Thomas Cornelius of Rock Hall and the late William Roby Cornelius Sr.
A waterman for 45 years, of which he spent 30 years on the "Robyn De", from where he crabbed, fished and oystered.
He enjoyed sports, especially baseball, and bowled for several leagues in Kent County.
Mr. Cornelius was a life-member of the Rock Hall Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving as an elder and deacon.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kathryn Johnson.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Madeline Cain Cornelius; two daughters, Robyn Johnson of Locust Grove, Va., and Denise Morris of Rock Hall; a brother, Alfred Cornelius of Rock Hall; a sister, Myrna Hudgins of Kernersville, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Zachary, Rebecca, and Rachael Johnson, Brandon Morris and Elijah Andrade.
Services will be noon Sunday in the Rock Hall Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 21336 Sharp Street, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
