LEWES - Karen Lynn Stokesbury of Lewes died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, Friday, Jan. 19, 2001. She was 35.
She loved and enjoyed life.
She is survived by three daughters, Ashley Marie, Brittany Nicole and Cassie Lynn; her parents, Sara Louise Cresmer and Norman W. Cresmer Sr. of Lewes; a sister, Bonnie Brasure of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, Norman W. Creamer Jr. of Vancouver; and a maternal grandmother, Helen J. Boyd of New Castle.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes.
Services and burial will be private.

Florence R.T. Burris, 94
CLAYTON - Florence R.T. Burris of Clayton died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in the Silver Lake Center, Dover. She was 94.
Mrs. Burris was born in rural Kent County, the daughter of the late Robert and Rhoda May Tribbitt.
She worked at the Elkton Powder Plant during World War II until it closed, and retired from Playtex in Dover after 26 years.
Mrs. Burris was devoted to her family and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clarence E. Burris Sr. in 1982; a daughter Frances B. Shetzler in 1992; and a great grandson, Jes Shetzler who died in 1998.
She is survived by her son, Clarence "Dick" E. Burris of Clayton; a daughter, Rachel B. Lane Shaw of Smyrna; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Service and burial will be private.

Roger Kip Carmean, 35
DOVER - Roger Kip Carmean died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in his home. He was 35.
Mr. Carmean was born June 1, 1965, in Lewes, the son of Roger E. Carmean of Milford and Linda Gulyas Hall of Bowers Beach.
He worked as a baker for the Donut Connection in Milford until his illness in May of 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen McCartney Carmean; four cats; a brother and his spouse, Keith-Allin and Michael Dohrm of Harrington; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Tony Legates of Milford; a niece, Brook Amber Legates of Milford; his stepmother, Frances Dee Carmean of Milford; his mother-in-law, Olga McCartney of Felton; a sister-in-law, Karen Rice and her husband, Duane Rice of Dover; two brothers-in-law, John T. McCartney and his wife and son, Lorrie and Taylor of Felton; Michael P. McCartney and his wife, Joyce of Hartly; and his stepmother-in-law, Pauline McCartney of Dover. He was loved by many other friends and family.
Service will be noon Wednesday at Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St. Smyrna, where friends may call two hours before services.
Burial will be private.

Jaroslav Cerny, M.D., 96
DOVER - Jaroslav Cerny, M.D., of Dover died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, in his home. He was 96.
Dr. Cerny was born Oct. 23, 1904, in Librantice, Czech Republic, the son of the late Christina Kuhn Cerny and Ludwig Cerny.
He graduated in 1931 from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic and began his practice in the Czech Republic before coming to the United States.
Dr. Cerny practiced medicine upon entering the United States for the state of Michigan. He retired from the state of Michigan in 1971.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jaroslava Cerny; two daughters, Veronica Cerny, M.D. and Eva Cerny, M.D., both of Dover; a son, Jaroslav Cerny O.D. of Boone, N.C.; and three granddaughters, Rhoda Cerny of Milan, Italy, Natale Cerny and Lorraine Cerny, both of Boone, N.C.
Service and burial will be private in Oreb, Trebechovice, Czech Republic at a later date.

Providencia 'Provy' C. Haggerty, 77
ROHOBOTH BEACH - Providencia "Provy" C. Haggerty of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Washington D.C., died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She weas 77.
Mrs. Haggerty retired in 1979 as director of finance and budget after 33 years with the government office of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. In 1972, the government of Puerto Rico awarded her the coveted Manuel A. Perez Award, the highest award ever granted to a government employee.
She was a volunteer with the Beebe Medical Center Auxillaxy.
Mrs. Haggerty was a member of the Puerto Rico America Women's League since 1554, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the AARP and St. Edmond's Catholic Church and its sodality.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Haggerty who died in December of 1978, and her mother and father, Gonzalo and Teresa Diaz Carpintero.
She is survived by four sisters, Eva Fleming of Rehoboth Beach, Catalina Deiboldt of Syracuse, N.Y., Sara Jordan of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Dulce Hernandez of San Juan, Puerto Rico and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, King Charles and Laurel streets., Rehoboth Beach, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, Md.
Instead of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Wilmington.

W. Elbert Liden Jr., 65
FEDERALSBURG, Md. - W. Elbert Liden Jr., of Federalsburg died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, in his home. He was 65.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the graveside of Bloomery United Methodist Church Cemetery, near Federalsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Bloomery United Methodist Memorial Fund, in care of Anna Mae Merdith, 28009 Bloomery Road, Federalsburg, MD 21632.

Eleanor Williams Massey, 75
SEAFORD - Eleanor Williams Massey of Seaford died of heart failure Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was 75.
Mrs. Massey was born in Seaford, the daughter of the late, Leroy Veal and Elma Florence Trice Williams.
She was a seamstress for Nanticoke Cleaners, Seaford, retiring in 1987. She also owned and operated Eleanor's Flowers in Seaford from 1965 to 1974.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles James Emerson Massey, who died in 1975, and her daughter, Teresa Lynn Massey, who died in 1963.
She is survived by a son, John E. Massey of Seaford; a daughter, Brenda L. Massey of Seaford; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King streets, Seaford.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.

Louise Anna Hurd, 90
DOVER - Louise Anna Hurd of Dover, formerly of Felton, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Westminster Village Nursing Center, Dover. She was 90.
Mrs. Hurd was the daughter of the late Herman and Amelia Degnats.
She was a lifetime resident of Felton.
Mrs. Hurd owned and operated a beauty shop from her home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cooper S. Hurd, in 1972; and a daughter, Gertrude J. Salling, in June 2000.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Kepple of Dover and Barbara Pritchett of New Castle; a sister, Freida Minner of Milford; a brother, William Degnats of Felton; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. tonight at Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton.
Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.

Bernice Jones, 67
BRIDGEVILLE - Bernice Jones of Bridgeville died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was 67.
Ms. Jones was born July 5,1933, in Bridgeville, the daughter of Carrie Fisher of Bridgeville, and the late Brice Brown.
She attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School and graduated from James S. Groves School, where she obtained her G.E.D.
She was employed by First State Community Action Agency and worked for Delagra Co. until she retired in 1992.
Ms. Jones was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Bridgeville and served as treasurer of the Coverdale Crossroads Community Council. She was a teacher's assistant at Community Center and director of the Summer Feeding Program.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Audley J. Jones Sr.; two sisters, Catherine Felder and Anna Mae Pinder; and two brothers, Brice Brown Jr. and James Pinder.
In addition to her mother, she is survived five sisters, Elsie Charleston and Myrtle Wright, both of Bridgeville, Mary Badson and Katie Taylor, both of Wilmington, and Shirley Robinson of Dover; two brothers: Henry Brown of Bridgeville and Leroy Brown of Texas; two sisters-in-law, Evadney Lafayette and Hyacinth Jackson, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five daughters, Rose Cannon and Verna Jones, both of Bridgeville, Marjorie Moore and Jo Ann Jones, both of Seaford and Deloise Jones of Felton; two sons, Audiley J. Jones Jr. and Rudolph A. Jones, both of Bridgeville; two aunts, Esther Groves and Cora Sudler, both of Slaughter Neck; an uncle, Howard Brown; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Bridgeville, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Middleford.

Bruce S. Kimball, 51
FREDERICA - Bruce S. Kimball of Frederica died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in North Fort Myers, Fla. He was 51.
Mr. Kimball retired from the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his father Donal W. Kimball.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia C. Kimball of Magnolia; a son, J. Scott Kimball, and his wife, April, of Magnolia; his mother, Roberta K. White, and her husband, Louis L. White, of Dover; four brothers, Mark Kimball, and his wife, Carey, of Felton, Glen Kimball of Felton, Gary Kimball of Woodside, Wade Kimball, and his wife, Penny, of Woodside; a sister, Donna Sheppard of Ashland, Ore.; a close friend, Frank Wilkins of Frederica; and several nieces and nephews.
He was cremated in Florida and a memorial service will be held in Delaware at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements were made by Cremation 500 Inc., Fort Myers, Fla.

Thelma R. Kimble, 86
ROCK HALL, Md. - Thelma R. Kimble of Rock Hall died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital in Chestertown. She was 86.
Mrs. Kimble was born June 1,1914, in Rock Hall, the daughter of the late James A. and Ruth M. Apsley Cornelius.
She was educated in Rock Hall.
Mrs. Kimble worked at Chesapeake Restaurant in Rock Hall for several years.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Linwood Kimble, on Aug. 5, 1965; and a daughter, Joyce Ann Kimble, in 1993.
She is survived by a son, Gordon Kimble of Rock Hall; a brother, William Gordon Cornelius of Joppa; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be noon today at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 6179 Rock Hall Road, Rock Hall, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Rock Hall, following the service.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be sent to the Rock Hall Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 577, Rock Hall, MD 21661; or the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Departtment at the same address.

Wallace A. 'Rich' Ridgway, 57
DOVER - Wallace A. "Rich" Ridgway of Dover died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in his home in Dover with family and friends. He was 57.
Mr. Ridgway was born April 12, 1943, in Riverside, N.J., the son of the late Wallace and Helen (Winkelspecht) Ridgway Sr.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Mr. Ridgway was a truck driver for many years, driving for Harvey Raymond.
He enjoyed playing darts.
Mr. Ridgway was a member of the Del Vets of Dover.
He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Ridgway of Dover; a brother and his wife, William and Barbara Faulkner of Burlington, N.J.; two sisters and their husbands, Joyce and John Williams and Doris and David Ahrens, all of Delran, N.J.; 10 nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Remembrance service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 Lotus Plaza, Dover, DE 19901.

Ruth Robinson 'Ruthie' Rosin, 83
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Ruth "Ruthie" Robinson Rosin of Chestertown died Monday, March 26, 2001, in Magnolia Hall Nursing Home in Chestertown, after battling a two-month illness. She was 83.
Mrs. Rosin was born March 10, 1918, in Bellaire, Ohio, the daughter of the late John Howard and Daisy Bohill Robinson.
She graduated from Bellaire High School in 1936 and graduated from Lake Erie State Teachers College in Ohio in 1942. She taught school in Ohio and Maryland schools before becoming the County Home Demonstration Agent for Kent County, Md. Together with her late husband, H. Marion Rosin, they farmed and operated a nursery at Sassafrass Acres located in Golts.
Mrs. Rosin was a member of the Garden Club, Questers, the Embroidery Guild and the Historical Society in Chestertown.
She was also known for her love for bridge and the various bridge clubs she played with. She also enjoyed needlework and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George R. Robinson, Howard Robinson and Donald Robinson; and two sisters, Dorothy Wallace and Grace Ralston.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Memory of Ruth Rosin may be made to the Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital Auxiliary, 100 Brown St., Chestertown, MD 21620.
