Deborah Lynn Costlow Miller, 46
MILFORD - Deborah Lynn Costlow Miller of Milford died Thursday, March 8, 2001, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 46.
Ms. Miller was born in Milford, daughter of Robert and Gladys (Brown) VanVorst of Milford.
She worked for five years as a credit-card analyst for Omni Bank of Millsboro.
Ms. Miller attended the Milford Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the church's cancer support group.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Robbie B. Costlow of Milford, of whom she was so proud; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert and Marsha VanVorst of Milford and Richard VanVorst of Cape Hatteras, N.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Ronald Doughty of Milford; three nieces; and a nephew.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
The family suggests memorial contributions to: The Cancer Support Group, c/o Milford Church of the Nazarene, U.S. 113, Milford, DE 19963.

John Mokley, 88
SMYRNA - John Mokley of Smyrna died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 88.
Mr. Mokley was born Nov. 24, 1912, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late John Mokley and Bessie Handcock.
He worked as a social worker for Chester County, N.Y.
Mr. Mokley was a long time resident of the Delaware Home and Hospital of the Chronically Ill in Smyrna.
He is survived by a nephew, The Rev. Robert Anschuetz of Pittsburgh.
Graveside service will be noon Monday in the William Penn Memorial Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
Arrangements by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.

Frances M. Parker
LEWES - Frances M. Parker of Lewes died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Harbor Health Care Center.
Miss Parker was born in Lewes, the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Bailey Parker. She was lifetime resident of Lewes.
She retired in 1999, after many years as housekeeper for several Lewes families.
Miss Parker had been a member of the Soul Saving Station Church in Rehoboth Beach, under the pastorate of Elder Clifford Jones.
She is survived by three nieces, Sarah Stewart, Iona Stewart and Antoinette S. Handy, all of Lewes; and three nephews, Kenyon Parker of Frederick, Md., Louis H. Stewart of Bridgeville, and Granville Stewart of Lewes.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at St. George AME Church, 317 Park Ave. in Lewes.
Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Monday in Friendship Baptist Church, W. 4th Street, Lewes.

John R. Phillips, 63
DOVER - John R. Phillips of Dover, and formerly of Odessa, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, in his home. He was 63.
Mr. Phillips worked for the ACME Markets in Middletown for 35 years, retiring in 1991.
He was a former member of the Middletown Volunteer Hose Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, in 1993.
He is survived by a son, Dale Phillips of Townsend; a Brother, William M. Phillips of Smyrna; two grandchildren and two nieces.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St. in Middletown, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Old Drawyers Cemetery near Odessa.

Dr. George C. Seabrooks, 78
BRIDGEVILLE - Dr. George C. Seabrooks of Bridgeville died Sunday, March 4, 2001, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 78.
Dr. Seabrooks was born Jan. 4, 1923, in Charleston S.C., the son of the late George C. and Louise Seabrooks. He later moved to Philadelphia.
He was educated and received a B.A. in Psychology from Wilberforce University, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University and a Ph.D. in Guidance and Counseling from Catholic University of America. He also attended Drake University Law School.
Dr. Seabrooks was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as an officer and received numerous recognitions and commendations. Later he retired from Cheyney State College in Cheyney, Pa. as a Professor of Clinical Psychology.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Seabrooks; two daughters, Susan Davis and Patricia Edwards both of Bridgeville; two sons, George Harmon of Bridgeville and Willie James Edwards of Pawleys Island, S.C.; his step-mother, Annie Seabrooks of Philadelphia; special friends, Dr. Joseph and Virginia Johnson of Philadelphia and Dr. W. Frazier of Charleston, S.C.; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Seaford.
Graveside service will be noon Monday in Delaware Veteran's Cemetery, Bear.

Roselyn Wilk Thomas, 77
DOVER - Roselyn Wilk Thomas of Dover died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 77.
Mrs. Thomas was born June 18, 1923, in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Abraham and Sarah Book Wilk.
After the death of her first husband in World War II, she married David Koenigsburg and later married Nathaniel Thomas Jr. They made their home in Baltimore. and later Ingleside, Md. After his death in September of 1987, she moved to Dover. There she volunteered at the Harvest Group and the Modem Maturity Center, where she was very active.
Mrs. Thomas enjoyed bingo.
She is survived by a son, Barron Koenigsburg of Baltimore; a daughter, Tina Thomas of Cranford, N.J.; a sister, Minerva Rein of Tucson, Ariz.; and a granddaughter, Kandi Childress of Cranford.
Graveside Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock, Md.

Louis W. Baker, 80
DOVER - Louis W. Baker of Dover died Saturday, March 8, 2003, in Delaware Home and Hospital, Smyrna. He was 80.
Mr. Baker was born July 12, 1922, in Allentown, Pa., son of the late George and Cecelia (Burns) Baker.
He graduated from Allentown High School in 1940. He attended the University of Michigan and Delaware State University.
Mr. Baker enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. He was a pilot, flying B-17s in the 15th Air Force in World War II with more than 50 missions.
He was the pilot for Commanding Gen. Josepth T. McNarney, head of U.S. forces in Europe in 1946. He served in the Berlin airlift in 1948. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired in 1965 from the Air Force Air Transport Service.
He was the owner/operator of Baker Air Service in Dover for more than 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hattie M. Baker of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, D. Michael Sr. and Vickie Baker of New Castle; a daughter, Patty Baker of Dover; three brothers, Robert Baker of San Diego and Eddie Baker and Leo Ressler, both of Allentown, Pa.; a granddaughter and her husband, Wendy and Maj. David Stamilio, M.D. of Texas; two grandsons, Mike Baker of Arizona and Sean Baker of Delaware; and a great-granddaughter, Angela Marie Stamilio of Texas.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trader Funeral Home in Dover.
Remembrance services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Dover.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Chapter 2306 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805

Elmer Herbert Cain, 83
HARRINGTON - Elmer Herbert Cain of Harrington died, surrounded by his family, Saturday, March 8, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 83.
Mr. Cain was born April 30, 1919, in Harrington, son of the late Elmer S. and Pearl B. (Masten) Cain; a brother, Noah Cain; and a sister, Bernice Parker.
Mr. Cain was a graduate of Harrington High School, Class of 1937.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He enjoyed horse racing and hunting.
He was a diotherm operator for the E.I. DuPont Co. in Seaford for 371/2 years before retiring in 1977.
Mr. Cain was a member of the Delaware Standardbred Association, the Harrington Senior Center and the Harrington High School Alumni Association.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen; a brother and a sister-in-law, C. Delbert and Evelyn Cain of Harrington; a sister-in-law, Mildred Cain of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the McKnatt Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington.
Services will be noon Wednesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
